Hey, folks. I wanted to get this out here in advance and give you all a head’s up.
After my last blogpost, and after the feedback I’ve gotten, which I thank you all for, I've been doing some thinking, and I’ve decided to bite the bullet on this and not waste any more time than I have already. What’s going to happen is, by the end of this week, you’ll be seeing one of the two chapters for Living in Equestria that I’ve already written, and I’ll upload the second one the following week.
Again, I know it’s rather pathetic to only have two chapters waiting in the wings after 2 years, or to have waited this long to continue the story anyway, but as I said, I had been waiting for a response from my editor, Firebirdbtops, to give me the go-ahead as he always did. As 2 years have gone by with no word at all, I’m going to do what I probably should’ve done long ago and press on.
I can’t promise how often the story will be updated from here on out, and I sincerely apologize for making all of you who have followed the story thus far wait so long. I’m truly grateful for the kindness, understanding, and support you’ve shown me. You deserve better than the silence from this story for the past 2 years, and I’m going to do my best to carry on with it, while also continuing with Affection Therapy, and hopefully a sequel to my Tough Cookie and Syntax story.
As for the story itself, I realize that it’s so coated with dust now that blowing it off might make it disintegrate, lol, but here’s a small recap of the continuing plot threads and arcs currently in progress for easy reference. Just to be safe for those not yet caught up, I’ll spoiler-tag them.
-Dave’s stipend payment and reception of assignments is now being handled by the pegasus twins Cirrus and Nimbus, direct subordinates of Minister Ironmane, who now lives in the Crystal Empire.
-Dave and the Crusaders are putting together an amateur concert, with help from Vinyl Scratch and Octavia.
-Dave has been invited to accompany Rarity on a trip to Manehattan.
-Moonlight’s true identity has been revealed: Star Glider, Trixie’s old traveling companion, struck with amnesia and living under a new name in Ponyville.
And as I mentioned in my last blog post, this story takes place from the end of Season 2 going into Season 3, so a lot of plot threads are very much outdated, such as the truth behind Scootaloo’s family situation. However, going back to amend those particulars to make them line up more with the continuity of the show might cause some serious damage to the flow of the story as it is, so I’m not keen to meddle with them. In which case, I’ll just have to simply soldier on with what I have established and hope it works out.
Thank you again for sticking with me for so long, even when I’ve let this sit idly for too long. I can only hope the quality of the story won’t dip too much going forward. I hope you all have a great day.
