Onlyfans is making a common and foolish mistake. · 8:40pm Aug 19th, 2021
As many of you know, I write pornographic stories. Not just on here, either. I have also been familiar with the furry community since the mid to late nineteen-nineties. There is more I can share, but this establishes enough to make my point.
I'm aware of how popular porn in any form can be. Whether it's artwork, photography, animation, videos, or literature, any and all forms are popular, and often financially successful. It's not an absolute guarantee, of course, and it is possible for people to make a living selling more safe for work material, but it is still much more effective.
Yet, so often, when a company or other that makes money reaches a certain point, they decide to ban porn. Doesn't matter that they company allowing such not only helped them get started, but probably was a major factor in their success. As soon as they reach a certain point, they decide to ban it.
Patreon is a fairly recent example. Several artist and writers that did adult material used it, and were forced to seek payable work elsewhere because of it.
Now, it seems that Onlyfans is doing the same thing.
Yes, OnlyFans, a site where people post photos and videos that people can pay to see, is now banning porn. Although, supposedly, they will still allow some nudity for now.
An article of it can be seen here, although heads up for all the junk around it, as so many "news" pages seem to do these days.
This always seems like a bad move to me, and I think this is one where it can be especially harmful . All the people who do make porn and post it through Onlyfans are going to simply take their work elsewhere. Kind of like how multiple adult creators moved from Patreon to Suscribestar. Yes, it is likely large enough to survive, but it still means a massive loss of business and profits.
I'm going to stop here before I get too much into a rant.
Tumblr did the same thing awhile back, too.
Lots of members were definitely NOT amused by that move there, either.
Don't blame OnlyFans. Blame the banks and credit companies that have taken it upon themselves to be society's moral police. OnlyFans announced that they chose the policy because financial institutions were refusing to do business with them.

I heard. Although I had already left it before then.

Which is the same reason many others have, and in a way, makes it all the more foolish since banks are supposed to be looking for ways to make money.
And the stupidity repeats… way to shoot your self in the foot..
5571305 Cool.
And I think a lot of people did, before AND after,.

The institution that is spearheading the... uh... effort is Christian, by which I mean nominally-Christian or what-the-US-calls-Christian. They want to "free everyone" from sexual exploitation, by which they mean they want to ban porn.
ok don't spread false info there not banning porn, nudity and such is still allowed there just banning some of the things that were already technically against tos https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/311288909482950656/878030342886420510/image0.jpg
https://twitter.com/Aellagirl/status/1428521853488746498 also https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.gizmodo.com.au/2021/08/onlyfans-porn-ban-false/amp/ and yes blomburg did break the story first and other media have been fear-mongering and spreading false info https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-08-19/onlyfans-to-block-sexually-explicit-videos-starting-in-october so ya there not banning it just doing what tumbler did and pruning the more legally risky content and now also making it so to post you have to be verified

"Don't spread false information", you say. And yet, you claim Tumblr didn't ban porn when it expressly did. More relevant to the current issue, your second link contains this line in the "official statement":
That's a ban on porn. There is no other way to read it. The weasel words about continuing to allow nudity is just to cover their asses for edge cases like those Greek-era naked statues.
So yes, please, don't spread misinformation. I beg you.

Your info is out of date. Here's a follow-up article from that same website: https://www.gizmodo.com.au/2021/08/onlyfans-is-banning-sexually-explicit-content-yes-really/
We gotta make a alternative for banks for this kind of crap it is really getting old or someone gotta change the banks them self and stop the BS that is going on
What happened to Tumblr was sad
What happens to Patreon was sad
Now onlyFans (Rip: 2021) sad day
But for real when do the artist that make NSFW content a break? Or those producing the content get a break? If there so scared of risky content scan the files before it gets posted instead of banning all NSFW content this is truly sad how society is going down hill with little to none
but it worked so well for tumblr

Tumbler still allows nudity they just banned the explicit and stepped up indictment of illigal content stuff so again your spreading. False claim

I don't know what your native language is, but in English, the word "explicit" includes anything overtly sexual, including all pornography. Tumblr allows nudity in the sense of pictures of ancient Greek statues, but no porn. Please, stop being so confident in your incorrect position, it's depressing.
