Equestria at War Update - The Way of Fire (2.2)

Hey there everybody! I've emerged from the darkness to help spread the news about another project that I'm working on. As I've mentioned in the past, in addition to being a fimfic author, I'm also a senior writer on the Hearts of Iron 4 mod, Equestria at War (discord link here), which is a fun (and sometimes very time consuming) volunteer project to dedicate

Equestria at War: Shores of Zebrica

Hey hey people, been a while hasn't it? Yeah, it's ya boy with another one of those "drop off the face of the earth and then post a blog post out of the blue" moments. At least they only last a couple of months (usually) right?

The Year in Preview: 2021 · 7:05pm Jan 12th, 2021

This took far longer than it should have, right? I'll blame it on... recent events... that got me riled up, coupled with the conclusion of my seasonal position now that the holidays are over. But hey, at least I got it out before January is halfway over!

With all of that mess behind us, and another messy year ahead of us (because if anything these past 12 days have shown us that 2021 likely ain't gonna be any better than 2020), let's try to look forward. After the downer that last year was, I'm going to try to be optimistic about the future. With the distribution of covid vaccines, the world should finally start opening up again, and that means more opportunities for all of us and a chance to get back to the old normal. So, keeping that optimistic spirit in mind, here are my 2021 goals for things I want to accomplish on fimfic this year:

24's 2021 Goals:
[ ] Pass 1100 followers
[ ] Publish 6 stories
[ ] Finish Unshaken
[ ] Finish the rough draft of TTM3
[ ] Participate in at least 2 writing contests

I never really learn from my previous goals, so I always set them to be lofty, and then usually end up failing them anyway. The hardest on there I think is going to be writing 6 stories. I set it at 6 specifically to push myself to get a story out every other month (I've never gotten close to putting out a story every month, at any rate), but we'll see how that comes along as my schedule throughout the year changes and develops. Hopefully, finding and participating in writing contests will help with that. After that, finishing the rough draft of TTM3 is going to be a challenge. I had managed to write 5 or 6 chapters of it throughout 2020, but was dissatisfied with the direction I had taken the story in them, so I scrapped them all and started over. That dissatisfaction hampered my ability to write, which was the biggest reason why TTM3 was not ready for publishing this year like I wanted. Hopefully by starting over, I can get that mojo flowing again. Yet even still, finishing it all before the end of 2021 will certainly be a tough task. TTM3 promises to be the longest book in the series to date, and so I'll have plenty of words to write if I want to get it published and out there. Hopefully it will have been worth the wait when it finally is out, though; there are some plot twists and story beats in this entry specifically that I've been waiting to write since I first conceived the idea for this series in 2014. I can't wait to share those with you all.

To all of you out there, I hope your 2021 will be better than your 2020, regardless of how good or bad 2020 was for you. We can only hope for the best, right? And as things settle down throughout the year, I'll be right here with you all, watching it unfold, and hopefully unfolding some stories of my own onto this site.

Yeah, anything else is getting too optimistic. :/ Time is made up, after all.
