Equestria at War Update - The Way of Fire (2.2)

Hey there everybody! I've emerged from the darkness to help spread the news about another project that I'm working on. As I've mentioned in the past, in addition to being a fimfic author, I'm also a senior writer on the Hearts of Iron 4 mod, Equestria at War (discord link here), which is a fun (and sometimes very time consuming) volunteer project to dedicate

Equestria at War: Shores of Zebrica

Hey hey people, been a while hasn't it? Yeah, it's ya boy with another one of those "drop off the face of the earth and then post a blog post out of the blue" moments. At least they only last a couple of months (usually) right?

Ten Years of Horsery! · 9:32pm Sep 6th, 2022

What it says on the tin. Simple enough, right?

I have a bad habit of forgetting my anniversary of joining fimfic, but I made sure to not forget it today (in my time zone, at least) since it's now been 10 years since I joined this site. Time flies when you're writing horsewords, right? I joined this site shortly after starting my senior year of high school (and discovering G4 in July of that year) and started publishing a simple little story about Commander Hurricane from what I considered to be one of the most interesting episodes of G4 we had to date at the time. Little did I know that that story would take off as it did and help me establish a presence on this site of crazy people, nor that it would ultimately introduce me to some of my best friends for ten years running.

It's been a wild ride since. I've posted 38 more stories after that first one, with the latest one circling back to my roots, though with the added depth of experience and honing of skill I've picked up since starting out as a teenager. I've won a writing contest with a long-form poem, written a story that, at one point for one day, was rated #1 on the site, and another that is consistently rated my highest today. I hosted a panel at Bronycon, I've been on a couple of podcast interviews, and met and engaged with so many new people over the years. I would simply not be the person I am today had I not discovered my love of writing about colorful horses and meeting all the people I've had the pleasure of talking to over the years, no matter how frequent or infrequently or whatever the context may be about.

I know I've slowed down dramatically from my peak days in college (being employed full-time and living by yourself will do that to you) and I think my days of regular and lengthy content, updates, and new stories are probably behind me now, but I've still got stories to tell, albeit at a canter instead of a gallop. So long as you all will keep having me, I'll still be here writing one chapter at a time.

Thank you to everybody who's commented and liked stories and even just posted on my user page or shot me a PM here on fimfic. Though I might not always appear all that active here on this site, I do have a Discord where I am much easier to access and much more active and visible. It's a small community where we mostly post art and memes, but occasionally there's story talk and you'll get updates right from the source (me) there. If that sounds like your thing, I'd love to have you.

It's been a crazy ten years, everybody. Here's hoping that I can last ten more!
