Heart of Gold Thank You, and a Question · 9:37am Nov 28th, 2012
Heart of Gold, Feathers of Steel is stabilizing, meaning its first big push of views is over for the time being. It was a great weekend, and I'd like to thank everyone who commented, replied, gave feedback, and wished me well. I apologize if I didn't respond to you directly; I never did get the hang of responding to multiple comments that have similar messages. It always sounds sarcastic in my head, which I try not to be toward people who are taking time out of their day to read something I wrote.
And next, in general, I'm new to Fimfiction. The site itself, I'm able to figure out, but I'm not exactly sure of the culture here. One thing I notice is that a lot of people send out thank you comments for follows and favorites of a story. Is this standard procedure? I'd rather not come off as rude out of ignorance.
On the subject of Watchers/Followers, a handful do individual thanks (like The Descendant), but most settle for thanking everyone every now and again at some arbitrary milestone (TAW thanks every 100, for example).
Pff. I could care less if I get a personal thank you for just clicking a button; I really don't think it's a standard procedure.
Regarding favorites and follows, it's not standard precedure. It's simply based on personal preference.
