Take a minute to be kind to someone today, even if that someone is you. We all need a little more kindness, giving and receiving.

Applejack found the young painter just where Rainbow Dash had said she would be. She knew the spot well and had spent more than a few evenings sitting here, just staring out over her little piece of Equestria.

With some measure of relief she saw that Amber no longer painted with a knife, and was carefully painting treetops. “This your homework?” Applejack asked as she approached.

Amber mumbled an affirmative as she carefully worked on another tree top, careful to not be surprised and make any more “happy accidents.”

“Awful late for you.” Applejack calmly added. “How 'bout takin' a break for somethin' to eat.”

“No thank you.” Amber answered without a second thought.

“Now y'all can't go starvin' yourself. Just put down the brush for a minute.” Applejack said, a little more stern than she wanted to sound.

“I need to finish my homework.” Amber insisted, an edge of irritation to her voice.

“Now I've sat your daddy down to eat, and I'll do the same to you if I have to.” Applejack said, intentionally stern this time.

“I need to finish my homework!” Amber said escalating her tone.

Applejack sighed as she stared at Amber's back. “You can finish after you eat.” She said, taking a tone she'd only had to use with Apple Bloom when she was being obstinate.

“I can eat after I finish!” Amber growled.

This was too far for Applejack and she stepped forward, biting Amber's tail and pulling her away from the canvas.

Amber's immediate response was to let out an ear piercing shriek, as that was all she could do. “Let go!” She shouted, but Applejack kept her grip. “I need to finish my homework!”

“Take a break!” Applejack insisted. The moment she let go of Amber's tail, the girl rushed back to her canvas and immediately got back to work.

She raised the brush, pausing to let her hand stop shaking. “I need to finish this Applejack! You don't understand!”

Applejack was stunned at the outburst, and over homework of all things. But something about this attitude was eerily familiar.

She watched Amber begin to relax as she thought, and before long the answer hit her. Twilight had been this obsessed about a supposed assignment years ago. Going so far as to use her magic to create a problem centered around an old doll for her to fix.

Big Mac still had the doll hidden among his stuff.

“I'll leave the food here for you, Sugar Cube.” She said before walking off. “Just try to eat something before long, alright.”

Amber did not answer.

Shouldn't paint when you're hungry Amber, it makes you haangry and its that much harder to go with the flow! and accept those happy accidents, I'm pretty sure that instructional teacher would agree with me lol :unsuresweetie:

Couldn't have said it better myself.
