Take a minute to be kind to someone today, even if that someone is you. We all need a little more kindness, giving and receiving.

Amber threw herself on her bed as she finally stopped pacing her room. She rolled over and looked to the blank canvas on her easel, her homework that was due in in less than twelve hours now. She needed to paint a landscape with a skyline, and in her pursuit to find the one she wanted to do she had spent so much time looking that she had now lost the chance to do any. Even though it wouldn't be dry she could paint one in the time she had left, but where?

She knew her dad would use his time machine and go back to do work he didn't have time for. But when she asked him for help, he refused, telling her that she had had the time and she just wasted it.

She didn't waste it! She was looking for the right place to paint!

She groaned as she tried to think about what could still be done. Starlight and Twilight could both use time travel magic, but there's no way they would even consider using it to help her. And ... that was it. The only options she could think of would refuse to help her. With a groan she rolled over and tried to think. She hadn't found one place anywhere around that interested her enough to paint, and she'd looked all around Truce!

A smile crept across her face as she realized that she had only looked around Truce, but she hadn't even considered Ponyville. Leaping out of bed she reached into her armoire and collected her tote bag. Throwing as many art supplies into it as would fit she then took her canvas under one arm and threw her easel over her shoulder.

Despite her parents telling her she wasn't allowed to use it without their permission she knew where the Enertron was and how to operate it. Even if she hadn't used it before, it was pretty straight forward. After a few seconds she loaded herself back up and was on her way, ignoring the growl of her stomach.

The realization had reminded her of a view she had wanted to pain since she had first seen it. Applejack had called it the best view in Equestria and right now, Amber couldn't agree more.

She rushed through Ponyville, heedless of anyone that might see her, and onward to Sweet Apple Acres with the hill that overlooked much of the orchard with Canterlot and it's mountain in the distance.

Light occasionally broke through the leafs in the orchard as Amber rushed towards the spot Applejack had once shown her and her family. Once she was out of the dense trees onto the intentionally clear hillside, she couldn't help but smile.

She took a moment to appreciate the view before she set up her easel looking out towards the mountain and Canterlot in the distance. With a clatter, her bag dropped to the ground as she set about getting everything just right, adjusting her easel until she found the angle she wanted to paint. After a little work she had her paints out and began painting the sky.

In that same sky, but not being painted, Rainbow Dash watched the girl set up and start working. It took a while for her to realize just what Amber was painting, though she had no idea why Amber was putting paint on a knife and running it's edge on the canvas. Shouldn't she use a brush still?

No reason not to ask. Rainbow Dash thought to herself as she flew down and landed behind her. “Heyya.” She happily said.

Amber gasped and jerked her arm, leaving a brown line on the canvas that hung awkwardly over the orchard. She stared at the mark a moment as her eye twitched. Happy accidents … happy accidents. She mentally repeated the mantra she had adapted from a series of instructional videos her father had her watch in the holosuites once. Remembering the calming voice talking about happy little trees gave her the answer she needed. The brown mark would just be a branch for a tree … a tree that wasn't there.

“Hello, Rainbow Dash.” Amber said calmly as she focused on her paintings. She took a moment and looked to the paint covered knife she still held, shivering as she realized just how easily as she could have ruined the canvas. She may have been able to buy a new one if she needed but starting over from scratch sounded miserable.

“What'cha painting?” Rainbow Dash asked as she looked over Amber's shoulder, seeing the general landscape with a several brown lines sticking out of the ground.

“It's a landscape for school.” Amber said as she scraped the knife down the canvas to make a trunk for a tree in the distance. Her mind still focused on the new branch for the tree that wasn't there … Happy accidents … Happy accidents. The tree was going to mar the left side of the picture, she could see it falling apart already.

Rainbow Dash smiled wide as she looked over the scene that was being painted. Amber was talented and she could already tell how the picture would turn out. Though she didn't understand why Amber was adding a tree to the foreground. “You know …” She said eagerly. “You could add a Sonic Rainb…”

“No.” Amber bluntly said as she continued to work.

“No, right here. A Sonic Rainboom would make …”

“No.” Amber insisted, not looking back to her audience. Her stomach growling as if to accentuate her point.

“O-o-o-okay.” Rainbow Dash uncomfortably said. “I'll see you around I guess.”

“Bye.” Amber absently said as Rainbow Dash flew off towards the farmhouse in the distance.

I couldn't think of a decent place to put this so here it is. Amber just trying to do some homework for her art class. This isn't the last time she get's interrupted.
