I have nearly 15000 total story views.
A FIC OF MINE IS YET TO BE FEATURED
Now, throughout my travels, I have discovered people who have like 80 watchers, 34000 views, and around 6 or 7 featured fics.

Also, I notice several fics getting featured at around 300 views when mine don't get featured at all, even if they accumulate more views in the same amount of time.

I've been noticing something.
The number of likes to dislikes ratio + the view to favourite ratio affects it.
My current fic, as you've seen, is at the halfway point to feature. It has about 200 or so views, 40 favourites, and a ratio of 2.4 likes : 1 dislikes.
I assume that, because of this, it affects how us low-ranking authors need to put our asses out there and get a slap. I usually thrust my damn stories in groups, now, seeing as no one will read it because of the push-down of the front page.
But, I agree with you. I have 118 followers, 8.9k views and not one to be featured. I want to stab someone.

When it comes to clopfics, if you want to get featured, avoid writing stories that include any kind of rape. Also avoid writing stories about sex with little fillies or colts. These elements tend to draw the ire of a lot of bronies, who will downvote the story on sight. It's a miracle my latest fic made the feature box. It has nearly half as many dislikes as it has likes.

514201 See, that's one of things I noticed. How is this even happening? I do believe that has more to do with the favorites and views then it does the like/dislike. Seeing as bad fics rarely are faved, that's what prevents them from hitting the featured box. Although "120 Days of Blueblood" smashes that theory to bits, so we'll pretend that doesn't exist for now. By the way, I'm really looking forward to it having a similar ending to the movie.
Also, the reason your story may be getting them downvotes is because Rainbow Dash is slightly OOC. Also, massive Flutterrape can turn people off, as with Ragingsemi's "Totally Fucking Awesome", which was, totally fucking awesome.
