Salutations once again.
It's been a while since I last updated my story Letters From Across The Disgruntled Multiverse or even write anything here at all. I think some explanations is needed.
To those who didn't know, I joined the army in 2018 for my two year service there as required by every male Singaporean. That service is going to end soon coming next year though this past year has made me very busy with army work. I'll spare you the details because of all that is confidential stuff. Then there's the fact that I'll be going to university coming the end of next year so even now I may not have time to write as much. Then there's the fact that I tend to procrastinate...
Also, I've been helping to write mainly for Letters From A Disgruntled Friendship Student by milesprower06 as his co-author which is great but that puts lesser focus on my own writing.
But now with MLP ended and the writing for the final chapters of Letters From A Disgruntled Friendship Student Season 9 are in progress, I think it's only fair that I give an update of where my story: Letters From Across The Disgruntled Multiverse; my current and most ambitious story, will go from here.
If you recall my previous update blogpost. This was what I said on what I had in mind for this story
Well... first off, what do you guys want out of my story? Responses To A Disgruntled Friendship Student (another Letters From A Disgruntled Friendship Student spinoff) had the quirk of being comebacks to Miles Letters From A Disgruntled Friendship Student. So I had to wonder what I had to offer to readers with my story.... I pondered on this question as I was halfway finishing the Past Sins arc when it hit me..
Why was I inspired to do a disgruntled letter on Past Sins? I liked both Pasts Sins and Letters From A Disgruntled Friendship Student and so I wanted to do a story that honors both; showing the strengths and flaws of both stories. I guess that would be how and handle future disgruntled stories from now on. Combing the good aspects of both stories while poking fun at the flaws through parody, overexaggeration and references to other wonderful stories on Fimfiction. What do you guys think?
Not much have change on my mindset on writing this story but looking back on what I have written thus far has given me some perspective on how to better myself.
How I normally do a parody story would be to look at the premise of the story, twist it into a disgruntled style of Letters From a Disgruntled Friendship Student, makes some references to pop culture, make some references to various stories on this site (sometimes stories made by the same author whose story I was currently parodying) and that's about it.
There are problems faced with this writing style now that I think about it.
If you look at my Past Sins Arc. To me the most cringest thing I did was trying to constantly hammer in as much pop culture references as possible that didn't fit well in the story context for each chapter. Basically I overdid it.
An example of when hammering in as much references as possible worked would be He Come To Town and Queen Bee (Which was Zelda and Bee themed respectively). Where it makes sense because of the context of both stories
Another problem I face is when wanting to try reference other stories by the same author of the story I'm parodying. If I want to do that I have to read all the stories by that author just to reference them in said story parody. This is both time consuming and stress inducing. There is a lot good to do things in moderation.
In summery, I'll be able to get things done faster and better if I try to do things in moderation or else I feel overwhelmed and procrastinate away... Hopefully this will work. Time will tell...
Also, if you recall there was some ground rules I made for story suggestions when I posted in my previous update on this story. Looking back at it. I think some amendments are needed.
1. I will not do Disgruntled Letters on a one-shot story unless
it is above 3000+ words orthe story itself has enough ideas/jokes for me to write about it.2. I will not do Disgruntled Letters on Clopfics.
Letters From A Disgruntled Friendship was funny because it put sexual jokes to describe the My Little Pony TV Series which had none of that so doing sex jokes on clopfics feels kind of already does half the job for me which is no fun at all.What I defined as a clopfic would be any story with the porn tag and also any story which main bunk of it involves sex scenes.3. No. I will not do your own story if you suggest it to me. I would feel to me like you are advertising your story to me. Please suggest other people stories...
4. Keep in mind I will not do bad fanfics. My story is meant to honor good fanfics with a disgruntled comedic spin to it.
5. Stories with gore is a mixed bag for me... You can suggest stories with that but it may take a while (and a strong stomach) before I would read it and may/may not do a disgruntled letter on it.Yeah I think I can handle gore now... hopefully... Maybe???5. The story must be completed. Not incomplete, not on hiatus and not cancelled. COMPLETED!
6. Even if stories that meet with the above standards I set up, it may still take time to possibly post a disgruntled chapter as I have to read the story (if I haven't read them) and get enough ideas to start writing it. And also, keep in mind I need to ask the author of the suggested story permission first and he or she approves before I attempt writing.
Another thing I'm considering myself trying is to parody straight away any story that was just featured on Fimfiction's main page. This will allow me to follow the latest story trends and get some new viewers invested into my story. Don't know if this method would work but it's worth a try. What do you think?

I asked permission back in 2018 and was granted it and there was some progress initially I just need to go and finish it. I may reference Good Girls Are Bad Girls That Haven't Been Taught by the same author in the parody and maybe give a nod to Rated Ponystar's story The Assassination of Twilight Sparkle
Sunlight by The Albinocorn
Definitely an interesting fic for me to tackle. I've already read this and also A Long Road to Friendship another story by the same author so I have a lot of material to work with. Just need to get a rough draft and ask the author's permission.

Back in 2016, I originally wanted to parody this fic cause I had a lot more ideas for writing for Letters From A Disgruntled Friendship Student for the chapter The Cart Before The Ponies. Similar to when I had a lot of ideas for The Mane Attraction and did a parody story of She's Got The Mane For It based on said episode.
Unfortunately, I've forgotten the ideas I had back then and didn't bother to write it down somewhere which was stupid of me. I do want to complete this for sure!

While I normally would start with the first story. In the Weedverse's case The Weed. I wanted to do The Sun Also Surprises cause it was the story I read first introducing me to this universe.
However I'm not doing an entire disgruntled story of these series of stories involving Gosling. I have something better and more fun in mind that I want to try out.

So I went to read a few stories in the series and I have to say that it's peaked my interest. I don't think I'll start with the two recommended stories above. I rather parody the story that started it all: Fortresshy: The Nine Fathers. I may have some ideas planned so I just need to ask permission.
Fallout: Equestria by kkat
This story may be a herculean task to do. Cause its a very long fic and also there's tones of possible spin off fics written by various authors I could also reference.
Also for the parody itself, it will be toned down more to just poking fun at Fallout games, apocalypse clichés, story flaws ect. Characters will be kept in character as much as possible.
This is due to a PM I had with kkat and she said it was okay for parody as long as I do as stated above instead of the usual disgruntled spin. This is due to kkat not being a fan of insult comedy and that as bronies; laughter should be virtuous. Out of respect, I will follow to those terms as best as I possibly can.
Changing Her Mind. Keeping Her Spine by Foals Errand
A story with a funny premise that i can definitely work with. Plus, Foals Errand's stories was one of the few stories I read early on when I started out as a brony so I definitely want to do a story as thanks for that.

When I went to PM DisneyFanatic23 asking for permission, the result were inconclusive. We were messaging back and forth a lot cause unfortunately I encountered a similar problem here that I had with kkat when it came to discussing how I should parody her story. And she never did reply to my last message... And I choose not to bother her any further because I did not want to come off as annoying.
So I'm not sure if she ever was okay or not with me parodying her story but it's safe to assume that it's a no. Cause if I did do the parody assuming she meant yes and she did not actually like it. Well... I rather be safe than sorry so sadly Bride of Discord is not getting the parody treatment. A shame. I had a parody song of Dear Future Husband in mind for that particular story.

To this day... no reply... so I doubt I'll parody that story any time soon.
A shame really cause I had this joke in mind where one of the Mane Six (sans Twilight) shouts at Disgruntled Twilight to go fuck herself to which she'll reply that she already did.

Then back in 2016, I posted a PM to The Descendant.Problem is... he hasn't been online since 2016 before I sent him that PM. Because of this. I choose not to parody his fic. Rather sad for me especially since it was The Descendant that first greeted me when I joined this site.
Doctor Whooves - The Series: Episode One - The Pinkie Conundrum by Loyal2Luna
While most bronies will cite Doctor Whooves and Assistant or Doctor Whooves Adventures as their first experience to Doctor Whooves stories.
For me, The Doctor Whooves Series by Loyal2Luna was what hooked me into any MLP X Doctor Who crossover. So I definitely wanted to parody this using references to the audio series mentioned above. Problem is that she hasn't been around since 2017 so its unlikely I'll get any opportunity to ask permission to parody her fic.
Twilight Becomes a Dazzling by Twilight Lightning (Recommended by denneylaw)
This story has potential to be parodied. Disgruntled Twilight would fit in here well as she slowly becomes one of the Dazzlings. However the author was last scene on Aug 12th, 2016 so I doubt I would get a reply by them if I bothered to ask for permission which is a shame. And I have yet to read the story nor do I have any interest to do so.

I recently read The Irony of Applejack series (including Aftermath and Advent). And I'll read the implied continuation of the series. And I would've recommended the series... until I saw it on the list.
I do know of a story that's a bit of a hidden gem. It deserves far more views than it currently has (under 2000 views in total). Buts it's a great story in my opinion. Forget me Not by Lupine Infernis is a story that starts off as a mystery and ends up turning into a horror story. It's a one-shot (it technically has two chapters, but the second is just a short epilogue). Honestly, I don't want to say too much about it, because whether you do a chapter based on this story or not, I want you to experience it for yourself. So it's a suggestion for Letters From Across The Disgruntled Multiverse as well as just a recommendation. To avoid giving away too much, it involves cases of partial amnesia, ponies disappearing, and if you're a fan of Doctor Who, do you know of the alien race known as The Silence?
