This reaction is super late, I know. But I was so disappointed in The Maud Couple when it came out, that it took me a while to want to watch again. However, I loved this episode. Not sure how much of that is because Fluttershy is the character I relate to most, and how much is the episode quality.
What makes me most happy about this episode is that it feels consistent.
Yes, Fluttershy is still shy, but with the help of her animal friends, she has worked out that playing a character helps her confidence. And similar to earlier episodes where she tries this sort of thing, she gets far too invested in the character she is acting as. She's aware enough to adapt - three characters for different customer personalities, but she hasn't quite worked out yet how to moderate her characters.
Also I think her Rarity accent is hilarious.
The main thing I question is where Fluttershy's "freaky knowledge of sewing" went. Also, given that Rarity claims the raccoons as her assistants, I sort of expected that Fluttershy would at least try asking them something like "Hey do you know the thread count of this shirt?" when pressed for unknown details about the clothing's construction.
The main thing I want to investigate is the fashion terms. Most of them, I can find out without much trouble, but I really want some (preferably fanon, actually) ideas for what "obtuse" fashion could possibly be. I don't know enough about fashion to come up with suitably amusing suggestions.
