Choose What I Write! · 12:35pm Dec 27th, 2016
It's, uh...it's been a while since my last blog post, huh? I know, I was aiming for one blog post a week and not one blog post per month...or two, but I've been really busy with NaNoWriMo. Which I finished, by the way. All 50,000 words. It's too bad that those words only got me halfway through a novel, oh well, just have to keep working at it. Not to mention Christmas and the coming new year. I've been a little...under wraps.
I'm actually pretty proud of myself about what I accomplished this November. Not only did I complete NaNoWriMo, I've also managed to upload my work on Fimfiction on a more consistent basis. I've published a new chapter or story once a month since June. Except for September, but to hell with September, am I right?
But despite my more consistent schedule, you may have noticed that my uploads are, well, pretty scattershot. Of the 10,000+ words I've uploaded in the past five months, a lot of them have been one-shots and only a few have been actual chapters in my ongoing stories. Sorry about this, I put a lot of ideas on the back burner while writing Keeping it Simple, and more keep popping up with every Writeoff I enter. How To Write a Love Story, which I uploaded this month, is just about the last one of the back burner ideas. At least, the last of the best ones.
That's it: Getting Complicated, How Luna Got Her Groove Back, How To Write a Love Story, Gathering the Elements, The Month of Fall. Those are all the ideas I wanted to write. I love all of them, I love working on all of them.
But I'm at a loss about which one to focus on.
So I decided to leave the decision to you, my readers, since really you're the ones that this decision will most affect. I made a strawpoll where you can choose all that apply. Whichever story wins, I'll focus on. For The Month of Fall and How Luna Got Her Groove Back (both written as one shots), I'll focus on finally putting out their sequels.
Now, this doesn't mean that the winning story will be all I focus on. I'll still work on those that weren't pick. It simply means that much of my writing energy will go toward the winner.
There's no set cutoff point, just until a clear winner emerges. Maybe I'll keep the poll open for as long as it can exist on the internet, my focus changing as the votes change. Does strawpoll keep your polls for an indefinite about of time? Hmm, I'll have to check up on that.
I ended up voting for Getting Complicated even though it's more in the hope Octavia gets hit by a train next chapter and the girls have a mud battle royal to claim him.
I think I'd actually like to see more Luna Got Her Groove Back, but it looks like I'm the only one. Really I'm just happy when I see anything pop up.
That is a difficult decision. No wonder you don't know which one to focus on, I have a hard time deciding which one to choose myself!
I really want to see more of "Gathering the Elements", so I voted that. But whichever wins in the end we are all winners regardless!
For me it is whatever gets you writing Pinkie again. I think you write her very well.
