NaPoWriMo Story: 42K Words To Go · 10:08pm Nov 7th, 2016

Hello everyone.

Sorry about the lack of an AppleDash story going up recently: I've been caught up editing it. It's well on the way, but I overestimated how quickly I'd be able to polish it up.

Speaking of unpolished, I've also decided to enter EqD's NaPoWriMo challenge. That means 50K words that need to get out there before the end of November. What fun. No time to edit, no time to proofread, no time to do much else other than write, drink, and panic. It should be at least worth a laugh.

As of me writing this blog post, the first chapter is in fact available to be viewed. You can expect more chapters (each around 2K words in length) to be published in really quick succession. The story itself is a departure from what I tend to enjoy writing. It's about Twilight and some of her friends discovering an ancient, forgotten magic at a sinister dig site, and a sphinx who has lived to see the rise and of pony-kind. It's much more serious than what I tend to enjoy writing, so I'm really excited about it.

The Pony, the Sphinx, and the Immortal

However, because the chapters need to come out so quickly to fit the NaPoWriMo challenge, it's obviously less polished than the stories that I can spend weeks on end poring over and thinking about. That's why I'd love it if anyone who gives it a read points out any errors in the comments. I probably won't be able to get around to them quickly, but they'll be super helpful when I finally get around to polishing the story once NaPoWriMo is over.

Hopefully I'll keep to schedule and manage to bang out 50K words worth of mystery and ancient magic!

Good luck on the contest. I'm thinking about entering myself, but that many words in so short a time will be a challenge for me.

4290088 I don't think it has to be 50K. You can aim lower if you want. I just went for the full 50 because I like hurting myself.
