Why I'm unwilling to fix Tears in the Snow. · 4:31pm Jul 13th, 2016
So having just edited the authors notes on chapter one of Tears in the Snow, as well as spying a comment I read a few weeks ago saying I should fix it up, I figured I might was well offer some explanation of why I'm less than thrilled with the idea of fixing Tears in the Snow.
Tears in the Snow is my second most liked story, having been beaten by A Mothers Warmth since its release, it is also my second story on this site and that is less than flattering for this fic which everyone knew was bad yet gave it a chance to my joy and childlike naivete. If one were to remove the "It's a Nyx/Snowdrop fic!" goggles and read through the story again as if it were just another fic, one will clearly see that the story was written terribly, it's unedited and is quite amateurish.
So why don't I want to fix it? Well it's because I wouldn't get very far. I struggle like an animal in a bear trap with rewrites and re-edits, especially when it comes to changing an entire chapter, and with all of the mess I've made with Tears in the Snow before chapter eleven, fixing it for me might as well be a living nightmare. The idea of fixing it may be a good one if I wasn't easily distracted, or if I didn't procrastinate, and if I had an editor who would be willing to help fixing twelve chapters and one thousand eight hundred and forty two words, and I'm sure that even Kirito-Persona would be willing to devote time to a demanding editing regime that would come out of Tears in the Snow.
While I don't want to leave Tears in the Snow a mess of a fic the way it is, I can't do much since I'm wrapped up with other things, all of them but one of which are Nyx related.
Do not mistake my stance on re-editing and rewriting the fic to be ill of heart, I'm overjoyed, even to this day, that people still enjoyed the story, regardless of its faults and flaws.
some fics should just be left how they are.
Lol I should know... how's rewrites on Nyx and Sunset? Been busy lol.
4089495 Haven't touched it, though I plan to restore it the way it was, without Applejack's involvement with the discovery.
