A little self conscious, I suppose. Hopefully putting these out will help with that.

Short #4 is Going out the Door (Also you should read The Truth in Forgery if you like changelings) · 3:19am Aug 23rd, 2012

Another one done, and so far the best response I've gotten for one of my shorts! A whole mess of feedback (a hearty thanks to each and every one who left a note for me- I don't think I need to say how important hearing from readers is) the most favourites a piece of mine has ever gotten, and even a comment from Wanderer D. The Changeling Queen was one of the first things I read on this site... and remains the creepiest. But then I don't really go searching for goosebumpers. So all in all I'm happy with the response to Changelings Don't Get Cutie Marks.

In fact, I'm so pleased that I plan to act on The Slorg's advice- I'm going to submit it to Equestria Daily. If it gets in, expect a few caps locked words. I've never submitted anything to them before, so cross your fingers/hooves/claws/paws/whathaveyou, will you?

As for the future, I'm hoping to get at least one thing out by the end of the week. I'm hoping to start my very first ongoing adventure... but I've been under some mental blockage for the past little while. I did try and write something unrelated to clear it out, though. If I can't get my first idea out of my head properly, I'll tidy up what I've already made and try to have it submitted by tomorrow evening. Either way, expect some ungracious and slightly oblivious heroes leaving home at some time tomorrow.

Now, time for the most important part of these announcements! Drumroll, please!

Ravenscroft!
Scremises117!
Gamekiller8000!
Meta Knight!

Thanks for watching!

However, I need to address a slap on the wrist to Ravenscroft. This blog post was already supposed to be done a while ago, but I ended up spending all my time reading the prologue and first chapter of The Truth in Forgery instead. You should be ashamed of yourself, posting such an engaging story about changelings with a well-thought out approach to not only changeling biology but also society and even psychology when I have work to do!

But seriously, everyone. The Truth in Forgery is a quality read. I'm assuming that some of you must have come here for the changelings, and if that's so you owe it to yourself to go read this. I'm gobstopped that it only has ten likes so far.

That's all for now. Enjoy your day and make it yours. Night!

Uhmmm...
Uh...

Thanks? :yay:

I realized after posting it that I made a grave error in my fic, which may explain some things. I'm fairly nocturnal and I assume most of the users of the site are North-America based, so when I first posted the fic, two chapters, finishing last minute changes, it was right before bed... At 6am.

A story can only Feature if a large number of viewers see it when it is first published, and gets buried by new stories quickly. I have learned from it that if I were to write an off one-shot, I should ideally post my fic at about 9:30 PM for ideal view count. But I'm out at that time working usually, so instead I keep updating late at night and letting it get buried. Only people who search "Changeling" will ever see my fic, unless I get a nice shout-out.

Thanks for that, by the by, I don't know if I merit the praise though. I haven't even finished one day in the life. :twilightsheepish::twilightsheepish::twilightblush: The third chapter was a hard choking point to get through, I think I realized where I messed up and don't quite like it, but by the nature of the error it is not something I can fix, (rather, it is self-fixing over time), so I'll need to plow through.

...Maybe I should get working on that next chapter. Right after I read my updated favourites. :raritywink:

Best of luck in the EqD submission, I've got a good feeling you can get through, their main concern is usually grammar and yours is excellent. I also look forward to the next short.
