Hey guys, so if you haven't heard bird's the word, Equestria Daily's doing a thing called National Pony Writing Month, as hosted by this one dude ABagofVicodin. It's kind of like NaNoWriMo except with ponies. That's cool right?
So for all you excessively wordy nerds out there, you should all try to make 50k words about ponies this month. It'll be cool and stuff.
Also publish them all on Fimfiction so we can bear witness to your secret shame.
Go check it out.
But bird is the word.

You had my attention at this point
I just finished my story. There's no way I can recharge and come up with a completely new idea this month. Maybe next year, now that I know about it.
50k words
It's like your trying to kill me.
Curses!! I'm doing NaNoWriMo about NON pony related things this year...

Imploding Colon wrote a new story?

My apologies if that seems unclear. Its 16 days to send me your GOALS. You still have the whole month for 50k words.
I hope that helps.
I, uh, will be meeting the word count probably. Last month I went over 40k. Going for 50k+ this month.
However, at least half of it will be clop. So I'll only be doing the EQD thing in spirit :P
What exactly is NaNoWriMo? I'm still learning internet slang &c
A little bird told me it was NaPoWriMo.
Hue hue hue dont kill me OP pls
3516639 National Novel Writing Month
3516639 National Novel Writing Month. Where you write 50k words about stuff anf things.
Because National Worst Mistake Of Your Life Month was taken?
3516657
3516654 okay that makes sense, ty both.
(I really should have known that…)
3516661 Yes, and coincidentally it is set about 9 months prior to my date of birth.
3516600 Too late, Vic. I've already launched 'Precious' (on the occasion of hitting 700 followers, if only glancingly) and that will be my PoNoWriMo. And it's already extensively outlined, and the chapters come out Mondays like clockwork and need to be around 6-9K and not way beyond that or the book'll become unwieldy.
So I will NOT be doing NaPoWriMo specifically, but I will be writing away through No and Dec and some of Jan, and I encourage everypony else to do this. Come, join my world. We have cookies!
I would do the contest... But, I specialize in sad and gore, and since gore is out... I'll just stick to updating my two other stories.
I can't not write gore.
And I can't NOT write fnaf gore. o3o'~
Holy shit, 50000 horsewords in a single month!? That's like, 10x my top output of horsewords.
3516561 Not the ten-hour loop.
I am disappoint.
3516776
There's a ten-hour loop?
3516779 Oh, have you not heard? I was my understanding that everyone had heard.
3516784
I've heard now, thank you.
I'm just going to kill my brain and try to do both. 100k words, here I come.
Secret Shame... o.O
I don't think it's secret even if we don't post it here. It's okay, Obsel, we won't forget about you
3516803 B...Best of luck... I'm doing NaNoWriMo, but just that.
3516994 Same here. The 100k was a joke. I can barely manage to get all my school done each day anyway, and that's with a creative writing elective on the side.
3517009 Oh good. Wow you poor thing... (Also I just noticed your username )
Bad enough I saw someone insinuate that reading 75k words was some insurmountable task. Now people complain about writing 50k words in a month?
Man, it's like protecting humanity from the burning wrath of Angry Zombie Noah Webster isn't even worth it, sometimes.
I'm no writer but I honestly appreciate the stories that are 50k words or more. I tip my hat to anyone who does write such an amount of words. Looking forward to this.
3517065 I know what you mean. I am unsure whether I should be ashamed to admit that I probably read 100k words each day. Truthfully, I could care less. Reading is awesome. If you say otherwise then you are wrong.
I feel like Twilight sometimes. Except I actually have more than 7 really good friends.
3516803 I want to too Message me of you need help or anything
3516639 It's a writing challenge where people try to write a 50k story in a month
3516760
Believe it or not, that is exactly why NaNoWriMo exists. A little bit of the message is lost in the translation to NaPoWriMo, but the purpose is to force you to write without fear, at a pace where you can't afford to let your inner editor get in the way of your creativity and productivity. What you write is not necessarily supposed to be publishable, but a first draft that can be polished up once you've got a structure to lean on.
Yup I'm doing it too I'm on target so far, no telling how long that'll last though. I'm probably going to publish once it's all done rather than a chapter at a time.
Good luck and happy writing to everyone who's entering!
3517065 Writing 50k words of disconnected nonfiction is easy: I do it all the time.
Writing 50k words that are all part of the same story, without my mind skipping around from thing to thing: harder.
My story's already over 200k words and I still have a ways to go. I think I'll pass on another horsewords novel in the span of a month.
does rewriting chapters count?
if not i guess i can hold off on the editing of one of my stories, but you'll have to explain it to its fans. some of them can be fanatic.
*looks at word count of my largest story*
Um...
does this make me a super nerd?
Working on it already!
I will participate too, just don't know yet with what exactly. Last year I wrote more than 100,000 words.
But I'm going to be a bit easier on me this time.
3516522
3516596
Hiya, Noble Cause, EqD pre-reader, and the insane mare to start the entire thing, before handing it off to Vic and Masked Ferret. I thought I was being clever when I came up with National Pony Writing Month, thus the acronym.
Any other questions?
For those who have Tumblr, there's something called "Promptember" going on.
3518085
Yes.
Yes it does.
3516600 50k words, in 2 weeks is child's(foal's) play, assuming you actually have the time and an idea to spin.
My main problem is all the other stories I have up on the agenda. I like to finish a story every now and again; even if it is just a One-Shot. I am currently working on just such a story right now. A spur of the moment, and some 6k words in a matter of hours, with self editorial included.
