WRITING INSANITY FOR CHARITY AAAAAAH (The 50kDay)

Do you like writing? Do you like helping out children in need? Do you like insane, mind-bending challenges that are probably unhealthy to everyone involved?

If the answer to any of these questions is yes and/or no, then come check out the charity event of the season: Quill Scratch vs. the 50kDay! For the next 24 hours, Quill Scratch (a.k.a. FiM's resident genius) will be attempting to write 50,000 words of pone goodness in one sitting! Let's let Quill himself say a few words:

So there's a challenge I've always wanted to take on, and this Saturday I'm doing it. You might have heard of NaNoWriMo, a ridiculous challenge to write a 50,000 word novel in a month (the very same challenge that I completed Fifteen Dinners as a part of!)

Well, I've decided to try to do the whole thing in a day. This Saturday, to be precise, from midnight to midnight (BST). And because this challenge is so completely and utterly insane, I'm using this as an opportunity to try to raise some money for BBC Children in Need.

Want to help me out? There are three things you can do:

1) Sponsor me! Head over to this page and donate whatever money you can to help me reach my rather high goal. BT MyDonate was chosen by Lloyds in preference to sites like JustGiving because, despite being somewhat less pretty, it doesn't charge charities for using it. And Children in Need has a policy of every penny donated going to one of their projects, so everything you donate would be going straight to great causes!

2) If you can't sponsor me, you can still help out! I need as many people to see this page as possible, because (competitive streak aside) I really am trying to raise as much money as I can for an amazing cause, and every pair of eyes that sees that page belong to another person who might donate. Share it on facebook, twitter, tumblr, anywhere you can think of!

3) And, of course, if you don't particularly want to bother with either of the above (because let's face it, that sounds like effort) I still have something you can do! On Saturday, I'm going to be setting up a livestream of this whole thing, running the whole day from midnight to midnight. I'm hoping to get some audience participation stuff going, because if I even start to get just a little blocked I'm going to be looking to you all for inspiration.
