Right! New stories done and I've got a proofreader/editor (thanks Starfall!). Unfortunately, looks like there won't be time for him to read it before the weekend. I wonder if I'll be able to see the edits in real time? If not, that's all right. I won't fret, or panic, or sit huddled under my desk rocking back and forth in paranoid self doubt and fear. I shall not! Seriously, there are dust bunnies down there that even Fluttershy couldn't tame.
Speaking of paranoia! I got my very first rejection letter from EQD today. The pre-reader certainly didn't pull any punches, which is always a bit hard on the old ego. Still, he made a lot of very valid points that I need to confront if I'm serious about improving my writing. Before jumping into fanfics, I'd only ever written more personal, first person monologue style stories. As a result, I have a some HUGE blind spots in decent narrative structure building and shifting character POV. Also, I abuse ellipsis like they owe me money.
So, time to tuck my poor little hurt feelings away and start looking for help! Does Vodka count as 'help'?

Ah well, updated my story with some edits. No idea if it made it better or worse. Either way, it was experience!
