I'm a long time science fiction and animation fan who stumbled into My Little Pony fandom and got caught -- I guess I'm a Brony Forever now.

    Shipping Sunset Shimmer with Sci-Twi

    I. A Tale of Two Shows When I wrote the few pieces of fiction I have set in the Equestria Girls side continuity, I wrote them from the assumption that Sunset Shimmer was heterosexual and passionate (though at first sexually-inexperienced, due to her youth at the time of entering the Humanoid world). Given this, my unfinished prequel (An Equestrian Gentlemare) was chiefly

    Generic Likely Equestrian Future

This assumes a vanilla Equestrian future, rather than the specific one of the Shadow Wars Story Verse, though some of the comments apply to my SWSV as well. Generally, the SWSV Equestria advances faster than this, as can be seen by reference to the noted story.

Chapter 16: Slavery experience (Part B)

It's the Slavery Experience! Get on board the ship for the onerous Middle Passage! Then get auctioned and sold away from all your friends and loved ones for a hopeless life of servitude!

    Wow, that got dark fast.

California native myself, raised a die-hard Raider fan.

(*hugs back*)

I think we could become good friends if we ever met IRL.

2992835

Oh, you live around the Bay Area too? East Bay, San Francisco or further out?

2992843 I actually live in Arkansas now, but I'm from Bakersfield, CA. I wish to eventually acquire the funds to move out to Cali again.

2992845

I've been through Bakersfield on road trips. Never visited Arkansas. I used to be a native of the Bronx, NY and at various times lived in Dobbs Ferry, NY and in and around Tuckerton, NJ; I've visited Philadelphia PA, Washington DC, and San Antonio TX. I've also traveled to Oregon, Washington, Nevada and a bit of Utah since I've come west.

A: Hudson Hawk? Always a great reason to do things. Excellent and massively underrated movie.
B: great choice in everything, but I find you lack of Queen in your music lineup disturbing. Nah, not really, all good choices. :rainbowlaugh:

How did you become apart of the mlp fandom? I never thought anyone over the age of 40 would watch mlp.
It made me curious and now I want to know how you found mlp.

2992915

My wife Rosanna, who is currently 31, liked the G1 My Little Pony series. At the same time, I heard about the G4 series from TV Tropes, and it sounded interesting. So I watched both the G1 and G4 series, and eventually also watched some of the other two incarnations. I entered the fandom in the Summer of 2013, found this site in the Autumn of that year, and here I am today.

One thing about me is that I have never assumed that a show was silly or childish based on the medium (animated vs. live action) or the ostensible target demographic. I tend to rate shows on the criteria of their own logic and vision, and on those bases, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic scores very highly.

Nice to meet you, sir.

Wow You aré older that me. Im suprised, is my Fault for belive every brony is yonger than me, After all, im the oldes brony of all the bronies i know in México city, for the récord im 41 years old and except for a brony outside the city i don't know any one older than me here.

2993014

I am, probably, one of the older people on this site. Though I'm sure far from the oldest.

Wow, I sure didn't expect this. I'm 44, and most people here are shocked when they find out.

Nice to meet you. You know, judging from the other comments here, I am apparently not alone in having thought I was one of the oldest people here.

2993014

You know what we should do? We should make a group called "Bronies Over Forty". We might find it refreshing to be among peers within this fandom.

2993026

I'd join that group.

2993014

Does MLP: FIM have a major Mexican fandom? If so I'm glad: I knew the show was also popular in Britain and Japan, and I think it would translate pretty well into the Spanish language and Latin American cultures.

2993026 you all make me laugh a little, as people have freaked out when they found out I'm 31, I almost want to introduce them to one of you to watch their minds explode.

Another Nightwish fan!

2993141

2006Midnight introduced me to the group about half a year ago, and I've come to love their style.

I've been a fan for years. Which is not that odd considering that it was a goth girl thing in Finland when I was in upper secondary.

Well maybe not as big as the Other nations fandom (cultural things Have much moré influencie here, and i think the media is doing their part to don't créate a much larger fandom) but big enought to Have conventions an meet ups. Im even work whit a internet grup to sell MLP related and original merchandice.

Maybe You Have get, that i don't practice my english writing skill frecuently.

Right up there with you guys. Is there an Old Geezer's Club here?

2993941

Here are the songs that most inspire Love Starved and The Fall of Hive Hunger-Prime (SPOILERS):

"Attero Dominatus" (Sabaton) though Compound is seeing it from the receiving end. Utterly sums up the hopelessness of it all from her position, the more so because as a brilliant logistician she grasps that Hunger has no chance.

"Tyrant" (Judas Priest) for High Queen Nightmare Hunger's personal philosophy of life, and her attitude toward her unfortunate followers. I even Lingfied the song, once, as "High Queen."

"Dessler's Retaliation" (part of the Space Battleship Yamato 2010 live-action movie) for High Queen Hunger's true plan to wreak her revenge on Equestria and on the worthless followers whose combination of failure and survival represents betrayal from her twisted view of things.

"Hearts of Iron" (Sabaton): Compound and her friends lead the survivors of their Hive to safety in surrender to HIgh Queen Kindness, as the die-hards in the Royal Bunker try to kill them for their "treachery," and the physical structure of the Hive falls into the boiling inferno of uncontrolled earthfire left as Hunger and Kabuto's final gift to their failed followers.

"Light in the Black" (Sabaton): The war finally over, Compound searches for her true destiny, as the survivors of the Hive are released and make a place for themselves in the new and frightening freedom of the Reconciliation, this time as Equestrian allies rather than enemies.
