I Co-Wrote Something Again · 2:28am Feb 3rd, 2015
Last night, Mattricole, rolls up to me and is all like, "Wanna write something together?" I was like, "Sure." So then he opens up a doc, and we just start trading off writing. He'd write down a paragraph, then I'd write a paragraph, and so on, just writing whatever we thought of as the story evolved. Turns out I can still write to a degree, but it took that pressure of suddenly collaborating and feeling pressed for time (which was likely just in my head) to get me going. What came out of it was... strange, but funny. I had a pretty fun time writing it, and I hope you have a fun time reading it. If you like the fun and charm of Matt's stories, I'm pretty sure you'll like A Spoonful of Spoons.
Cool
So you just need to find a way to make yourself feel pressured by time to get stuff down. We can work something out like that. I can set deadlines for your story chapters (nothing too strict of course) and if you're a guy who doesn't like to procrastinate you can get the work done quick and ready for an audience. You can be my proofreader and I could be your moderator. God the way I phrase that sounds unpleasant and enjoyment hindering, is that really the only way I can solve this?

I've done five projects while pressed for time. One set my current record for words in a day. Two were comedies that turned into sucker punch heartbreakers that I personally like, yet bombed pretty hard in their respective contests. One was a cruel dark comedy that's gotten mixed reactions and could've been better. The last one was a funny little story about Silver Spoons. My results when on a deadline are mixed at best, but I got 'em all done on time, though. Lemme rephrase that a little bit, though.
We can try deadlines, sure, at least for the first drafts. Might as well see if it works.
