Chapter Update - And New (Old) Stories! · 2:41am Jul 2nd, 2014
Hello, everyone! I've been made aware that the new chapter alert for Besides the Will of Evil didn't go off for everyone, so just to let you know: Chapter 12 is up!
Now for the second announcement: I'm pleased to make you aware that two of my short stories are on FIMfiction now. "The Sun Never Sets" was the very first Pony story of any length that I wrote, and "Nightmare State of Mind" was the last one I wrote in 2011/2012, making it the last thing I wrote before I went on my hiatus. They sort of sandwich Dangerous Business in my Pony Fiction career, each one representing a point on the line of my writing style, and talents.
The Sun Never Sets
Nightmare State of Mind
As for what I might do in the future of both continuities, I haven't decided. Part of me is tempted to leave them as they are, to let them stand as glimpses into strange and broken permutations of the FIM universe we know and love. On the other hand, both worlds could reasonably be expanded upon. I have given more than a little thought to the futures of both Queen Rarity and Radiant Dawn, and I could extend both their tales without much drop in quality.
Or I could do a crossover...
And on this day, the feature box trembled once again...
Ooh, neat. More great blasts from the past. Nightmare State of Mind is an old favorite of mine
Thinking of bringing any others over here? I just added A Day for Spike and Twilight to your Goodreads profile the other day, but it's so much easier gathering up metadata for these things when they're hosted on a fanfic site instead of Google Docs linked via EqD.
I know darn well that I first read one of your stories on Ponychan way back in the way back, and it wasn't Dangerous Business. I wonder if it was Sun Never Sets, or if you have something else lurking in the background.
I'd be pretty bummed if you tried to expand on these; they're some of my favorite one-shots in the fandom and are perfect as-is -- tantalizing hints at these new worlds, leaving enough to the reader's imagination.
I would love to see those two be expanded upon. Sure, they could be fine on their own. But you can take them further, make something greater out of them. I'm all for a crossover, too, but you might have to shift a few details. It would be interesting to see great conflict between former friends. Whatever you decide to do, I'm all for it.
personally they should be left as they are. especialyl since they both have that tragedy tag, and that jsut means things are not gonna go well anway.
