Update For My Friends · 4:29pm Mar 25th, 2016
Hello everyone!
I realize I've been terribly quiet for some time now, and that the 'sequel short story' I was writing for Besides the Will of Evil never really materialized. For anyone who was anticipating it, I very much apologize.
This doesn't mean I've given up writing. On the contrary, the reason I haven't contributed to FIMfiction for a while is that I'm once again trying my hand at taking my work to the next level. Many of you who followed me back in the day heard about my aspirations to publish original fiction, novels and short stories and flash fiction and poetry and screenplays and more. Once again, I'm back on the traditional publishing wagon. The draft of my novel I took a break from BTWOE to work on is out for submission to agents and editors. Meanwhile, I've got a number of short stories that are out for submission to various magazines and websites.
I've actually had some success this time around. I've gotten two short stories published, one in a very small alt lit journal and one on a website devoted to science fiction and fantasy. It's been a nice shot in the arm, a boost of confidence, a reminder that I may be a writer worth reading after all. This is what I think about my work most of the time, but it's nice every now and then to get a confirmation.
All this said, I'm not sure if I'll be writing any more MLP stories. If I do, I'll keep you posted. In the meantime, I hope for your fond wishes.
Best of luck in finding interest from a publisher.
You should definitely let folks know. This is a good place to promote! :D
Best of luck with the original works. Hopefully it works out well for you.
Good luck! I hope we start seeing stuff from you on store shelves!
I wouldn't completely cut ties with the fandom's you write for when you become an original author though: even though I don't draw solely ponies anymore I still indulge on occasion and so a lot of my pony related fanbase follows my nonpony art too!
Shopping around a bunch of stories all at once? Now there's how you do it. Out of curiosity, which website did you get a short published to? I'm always in the market for new reading venues. But maybe I've already heard of this one.
You should link your stories somewhere when you get the chance. Maybe put some up on DeviantArt if you don't want your fanfic fans to know your real name.

Oh, you're absolutely right, and I have no intention of leaving the Pony fandom behind.
I've said this before, but you all are the reason I even returned to writing fiction at all. I took a break from it for the longest time, and my aspirations drifted elsewhere. However, watching Season 1 of the show brought back the urge to write something again, and this led to the writing of Dangerous Business. That process reminded me how much joy I derive from writing and telling stories, and my commitment to ultimately do it for a living returned.
So I have nothing but thanks for all of you. Without you, and without the show, I wouldn't be the writer I am.
