A Writer Strategy to Building Skills for Stories · 8:36pm Feb 23rd, 2014
I had a chat with Lord Megatrron(ironic, isn't it ), and since we're both pretty new at making fanfics, he is suffering writer's block. What I've suggested is making a goal for each new chapter, to increase the total minimum words per chapter with each minor increase after completing a chapter.
It's simple really. Just pick a minimum number of words to reach then when you feel satisfied with the chapter, publish it to your story. Ex: I've started with 1000 words for my first chapter, then I increase the minimum number of words by 100 everytime I complete and post a chapter. I think this will help me build my skills as a beginner to make my chapters longer and more enjoyable for the readers.
Once I've reached my total maximum of words to post in each chapter, which is 10k to 15k words per chapter, then I'll be able to make my future fanfics longer, enduring, and enjoyable for the readers to enjoy.
Hope this strategy comes in handy. Wishing you luck with that writer's block, Lord Megatrron.
