Original scrapped intro to chapter 4 of Tears in the Snow. · 7:40am Feb 18th, 2014
While figuring out how to start Chapter 4 of "Tears in the Snow". I came up with a nightmare sequence for Luna which I deemed too dark to put in so I scrapped and deleted everything I wrote for that chapter before I could finish it. However before I restarted the chapter I copied half of what I typed and since I like to share things I thought It would be nice to show ya'll how I originally planned to start the chapter. Bare in mind that I stopped typing it before I finished, I however finished the intro just for this blog. I don't think blogs were meant for this but even so happy reading!

In Canterlot the time had turned to 10:00 PM. Princess Luna was still draped in sleep. She dreamed of Cloudsdale when she was younger. Her color was lighter and her mane and tail were made of hair instead of magic. She looked just as she did in her teen years. The night princess walked around in this dream version of Cloudsdale eventually coming across a house. The fireplace was lit. There was food on the table and a family gathering round to enjoy their meal. Luna smiled and continued to walk throughout Cloudedale. As she walked it started to snow. The princess stopped and looked up seeing all the snowflakes falling down. Luna then turned her head left and saw a house on a cloud beside a smaller, lonely cloud just a few meters from the cloud which she stood. Curious; Princess Luna took flight and flew up to the house slowly, landing just outside the front door. The house was familiar to her. As she was looking at the house she heard two voices behind her. Luna spun her head around to see who was talking.
"Hello? Who's there?"
The alicorns vision locked onto the lonely cloud that hovered just a meter in front of the cloud the house sat upon. Two Pegasai were now sitting on top of it. A mare, and a filly as white as snow. Lunas eyes widened as they spoke, she recognized them both in an instant
"D-do you think Luna will come back soon... mother?"
"I'm sure she will sweetie. Princess Celestia said she would."
"I hope she comes back soon... she promised she would visit again..." The filly looked down sadly.
The filly and her mother began to fade away. Seeing this; Luna ran toward them, letting her wings out to take flight. She was about to call out their names but then everything changed. The dark alicorn looked around to see she was now in a black space, there was nothing, no color, no objects, no sky, no moon, no sun, only darkness. But all of that changed again. She was now inside the old castle Celestia and her ruled in a thousand years before. It was intact, not yet destroyed. The princess looked around frantically, looking for somepony until a voice caught her attention. Now the castle was in ruins and down the hall was the white filly.
"L-Luna... you didn't say goodbye..."
Luna took a step forward.
"S-Snow-" A gust of wind and snow stopped the alicorn from speaking. She raised her wing in front of her to shield herself from the snow.
Once the wind had stopped and the snow ceased blowing, Luna lowered her wing. She saw a shadow grow around her hooves which filled her with a sense of dread. The night princess turned and looked up at the moon to see the face of an alicorn and four stars coming together. Luna turned away and started to run down the hall she last saw the filly but she didn't get far. Halfway down the hall she was stopped by an alicorn draped in shadow with White glowing eyes. The shadow stared directly at Luna whom stared back in fright. The Shadow then smiled widely, baring her sharp teeth and laughed, soon The night princess was overcome with shadow and terror. Luna awoke, she sat up as fast as she could, panting heavily until calming herself and slowing her breath.
"J-Just a dream..."
