Episode Reviews: Weird Al Polkapalooza and DERPY OVERLOAD edition (Image heavy, also spoilers, duh) · 4:17pm Feb 2nd, 2014
So, Pinkie Pride was on yesterday. My thoughts?
*Ahem*
OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH
WEIRD AL WAS IN MLP. AND HE SANG. THREE TIMES. AND SO DID PINKIE. FOUR TIMES! AND HE PLAYED ACCORDION DURING A POLKA DUET AND THERE WAS MORE DERPY AND HOLY FUCK I LOVE THIS SHOW.
So yeah, Cheese Sandwich was pretty awesome. Weird Al has been one of my favorite musicians since I was a kid, and seeing him in MLP is just great. And seriously, that live-action Gummy and Boneless. That was fucking GENIUS. Then Weird Al sang a portion of the Smile song and I think at that point I may have actually squeed like a schoolgirl so hard that I passed out. Then I woke up in Mexico or something, because Pinkie was singing in spanish.
I don't even. Speaking of which, here's Pac Dash.
In terms of pure, unadulterated fun, I think I enjoyed this episode more than any other I can think of. Definitely in my top episodes list, no doubt about it.
By the way, did I mention I really like Derpy? Because I do. In case you haven't had your heart attack for the day, here's filly Derpy (and Lyra and Bon Bon)
OH GOD IT'S THE MOST ADORABLE THING I'VE EVER SEEN I CAN'T EVEN HNNNNNNNNNG
And finally, here's Derpy giving zero fucks and scarfing a chocolate waterfall.
I was going to upload a gif, but then I realized this would work better:
You eat that chocolate, Derpy. You eat it good. I think Derpy has found the secret of true happiness. And that secret is a chocolate fountain.
=======
And now my thoughts on Derpy Rainbow Falls. They are as follows:
Derpy? Derpy. Derpy Derpy Derpy. DERPY.
Oh, and there was, like, Rainbow Dash or something too, I guess. But seriously, I'm so glad our wall-eyed queen is back. She was greatly missed. Other than Derpy the episode was 'meh'. Why is Spitfire such a bitch now? Why was she throwing Soarin under the bus? I dunno. And I liked the name "Snowflake" better than Bulk Biceps.
THANK YOU, BASED DERP.
I didn't see Derpy all that much except on the chocolate thing but yeah it was great seeing Weird Al there, I hope its not the last we see of him or that he made a song about my little pony
Loved this episode.
So much Derpy!
I wonder if Weird Al is himself a fan of the show? He'd be the right type.
Look at the first image that you embedded in the post. The big round mass with the small squiggly shapes of the Ponies homing in to join it, and Cheese Sandwich coming forth from the combination.
Now reflect that, memetically speaking, Cheese is Pinkie's offspring.
Do you think the symbiology there is on purpose, or coincidental?
Oh, and Paradise is spreading.
Just finished watching the episode and it was great minus a real-time video part but that is just a minor nitpick. I honestly feel bad for kids who have to watch a dubbed episode cause Weird Al is amazing and he is just right kind of personality for MLP. Hasbro should hire him or atleast make another episode with Al.
Also if I counted the candles right in the end of the episode RD is twenty-one years old!

Somehow I doubt they slipped in a procreation visual reference.

I dunno ... symbolically, Cheese is being born (or reborn) out of the community's happiness. Isn't that pretty much his self-chosen role? And, for that matter, Pinkie's?
