Guess who's stuck in a hospital bed. That's right, this guy. · 3:48am Nov 30th, 2017
Hey everyone. So for the last week I've been away from a computer, first for Thanksgiving with family, and more recently due to a severe flu caught from said family. I'll spare you the details, but it was a messy affair for a couple of days.
Yesterday I was due to go back into work, and thought I was feeling fine. I got up to get dressed, and as I was putting on my belt I suddenly felt very dizzy and nauseous. I leaned against the counter to try and steady myself, only to pass the fuck out and fall to the floor in a heap. On the way down I apparently broke one of the bones in my foot, and I woke up on the bathroom floor a few seconds later. Needless to say, I was not going in to work that night.
Which leads us to now. I went in earlier for a painful foot, and ended up getting stuck in a hospital bed with all kinds of shit connected to or stuck in me. Turns out they found not only a broken bone, but some kind of heart palpitation in my EKG. I went through a full battery of tests, blood work, CT scans, all that fun stuff. So now I'm lying in this uncomfortable bed bored out of my mind while they try to figure out if anything is wrong with my heart.
Fun times.
I should be out of here tomorrow, hopefully, but it goes without saying that I haven't exactly done any writing. Looking forward to getting back to it and flexing those creative muscles, because holy crap is it boring here.
And fuck needles. For real.
Hey, I know exactly how you feel about being in a hospital bed and needles and tests....
Ouch that sucks! Take care and get well soon.
Hope you are fine and I hope the hospital bill isn't unbearable. I don't know where you live but medical bills are pretty ridiculous here in the US.
For me personally, I hate needles. I have to and have had to be restrained when I was a kid because I didn't like them. I find that looking at the needle helps in my old age. Makes the stress of anticipation lessened when I can look at and brace for it, better than anticipation. I had to get blood work done at several moments due to meds I was using or some such. Looking at it, and heating up my skin helps.
I remember a fun time when I went to the doctor because I had cut my lip open out of boredom at school (I had just gotten done playing Starfox 64 for the first time and wanted to reenact the final boss battle. I was Andross, a nice pair of scissors was the Arwing)
I remember screaming bloody murder when the nurse came in with the numbing drug. I probably traumatized a bunch of kids. It's my claim to fame and my proudest moment ever!
Get better soon!
Got well soon Dref, I hope everything's ok.
I am still trying to figure out how you broke your foot from falling down
Dang, sounds like you've been having fun... /s
Hope you have a speedy recovery!
That's terrible.... I'm sorry to hear it. Please feel better soon...

When I fell, I did so in a way that my foot rolled under me and I temporarily had all of my body weight on a tiny portion of it. Somehow I didn't hit my head, thankfully.
