If you haven't already noticed, the glorious month of NaPoWriMo is upon us. What does that mean for you, kind strangers?
It means I'm gonna be writing a fuckton this month. One metric fuckton. A fuckton somewhere in the 50k-word territory. Hopefully.
First up on the list for release is Daring Do and the Rainbow Rendezvous, which should have been done already. Unfortunately I've been swimming in missions over the past couple of days and haven't had any time to write - or sleep - so bear with me. It'll be out in a day or two. My weak, fleshy body just needs a few hours of rest before unleashing this crime scene of a metafic on you.
Next up is An Afternoon Delight, which has been sitting around unfinished for way too long. If you like Smooze, or biblical parody, or schadenfreude in general, I recommend it.
For the rest of the month I'm going to be working on pumping out new updates to Perchance to Dream. It's high time I kicked this story into the next gear. I know I said chapter 5 was gonna be out this weekend, and it should have been, but...sleep. I've gotta put some more work into future chapters of Pippin' Ain't Easy, as well. If Rust comes back and I don't have any new content for him, he'll beat me again.
Oh, one other thing. Some douchebag suggested I write a parody self-insert wish fulfillment HiE fic featuring myself and a host of much more popular members of the site. We discussed the idea and came to the conclusion that there would be pimp-slapping and poneponi bitches aplenty. I really have mixed feelings about writing something like this. What do you guys think?

If you think you can avoid making your inserted self a Gary Stu (or Mary Sue, if that's your fulfilled wish), then go for it. Self-inserts aren't necessarily bad, they just tend to be unbalanced in terms of the thought put into the characters.

Well, the Rainbow/Daring Do fic sounds interesting, but I have no interest in the HiE parody because we get too many bad HiEs as is so the parody will probably wind up feeling like just another bad story.

Well, looks like I'm gonna have to be that guy. Honestly it sounds like you're approaching troll fic territory. If there is one thing this site does NOT need more of, its those. It's not really to do with me disliking troll fics, they have their place, reading them with friends can be a ton of fun. It's that I feel your strength is in wit and comedy. Reading a bit of Ponyville 911 and all of Pippin' ain't Easy confirms this. Not that you couldn't do one, and liquid courage always helps.
