As everyone probably knows right now, there's going to be a dramatic change in an upcoming episode. If you have somehow managed to avoid seeing spoilers about this, first off, you deserve a medal. The internet's going nuts over this, the fact that anyone can sit idly by in ignorance, oblivious to the news, is a tremendous feat in and of itself. If you're reading this, though, turn back now, because this post contains the very thing you're trying to avoid.

My thoughts on it are basically neutrality. I'm not going to make any major assumptions or guesses or opinions until I've seen the episode for myself. As I said before, this is a dramatic change, and things are going to be a lot different afterwards. And while I find no point in worrying over nothing we've seen yet, most of my concern stems from what I'll have to deal with if it does come to past; I mean my fanfic fanon.
Remember that post I made about time travel? The thing where I planned to write a fic that plays with timey wimey stuff? Well, these change of events do threaten the continuity I have planned in the future. Of course, given enough time I can make a proper rewrite, but there's no way of knowing if it's necessary without having seen the episode.
And now, a message to all the fans who are the most affected by the news.
Hold your breathe.
Like I said, there's no way of truly knowing what this change will bring about unless we see for ourselves how it plays out. There is justifiable reason to worry, I can understand, but crying and shouting and making vulgar noises and jumping to conclusion will not help any in our current situation. There's no need to argue and there's no need to bring up arguments either. We survived Cadance, we can live through ALICORN GOD MODE TWILIGHT SPARKLE EX JENOVA FINAL FORM. And unless you know somebody who can see the future, there's no point in yammering over things that have yet come to pass.
