MacDash Group Contest? So be it! · 6:26am Oct 13th, 2013
Sorry this took a while to get out. I'm still really lazy when it comes to submissions.
Alright, here are the rules.
-All stories submitted must be new or newly written (any stories that haven't been submitted yet but are fairly long must wait a week before posting and submitting to the contest).
-The minimum length of the stories is 2,500 Words. There is no maximum limit.
-Mature fics are not allowed (Teen or Everyone fics with affiliations to Mature fics or separate segments are still applicable).
-All stories must have a cover art when they are Complete, and no two pictures can be used (also all covers must use the artist's permission). Stories can have the same cover art as previous submissions (meaning just because they share the same image, but the old one was a month ago or so, it can still be submitted to the group).
-They must have some inclination that it was written for the MacDash Group Contest of 2013 somewhere in the summary (or Author's Notes but it must initially be summary).
-Stories will be graded by Reception, Word Count, and Grammar for 1st place.
-Stories will also be ranked by word count, chapters, themes, category, favorites, etc.
The contest will be going on for 3 months! That's right, 3. The reason being is that at the end of each month, a story will be picked for the best themed holiday fic of that month, for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and such, hence why it'll take 3 months for the whole thing.
One more thing, while the contest is going on, only Completed fics will be nominated for the winners of those months. (to be entirely honest, I'm not sure how I'll pull this off, but I'll think of something). Stories that did not make it to 1st place can still be picked in the next month, so take your time, don't rush things.
If we have enough artists in the group, we can also start an art contest with the above rulings. Only by popular demand, though.
When you kick off your story, submit it to the newly opened Unsorted folder in the MacDash group, which does not need Admin permission to submit a story there.
This month, we're looking for any Halloween/Nightmare Night themed fics (your story does not have to be written as such, but it will be exempt for this part of the contest). The deadline is October 30th-31st.

So just for clarification: You don't have to write a holiday themed story? Because I'm already half way through mine. (and there is nothing holiday about it)
1416302 I just made it all up. Had to make do with how late it was, and how popular an idea it was in the group. I had to do something.
1416306 It's not necessary, a holiday themed fic only has to compete with other holiday themed fics of that month.

Put up a reminder in November towards December and ill write you something as a Christmas gift (to the group not for the contest).
