We chose this because it made AppleDash very... approachable. There’s plenty of date scenes for fics with existing relationships, or fics with a starting relationship. But I’ve never come across one for AppleDash with this plot (Yes, I see you snickering back there. You can stop now).
This story was original, and it was beautifully executed. It was fun, the characters were spot on, and the pacing, albeit just a wee bit fast, was still excellent.
This definitely would be one of the first fics I’d use to win people over to AppleDash.Honorable Mentions: Chocolate Covered Grapes, Ponies and Throwing Knives, and Trial Run.

As of yet Untitled Fic by Bahatumay!
Again, originality helped a lot here. This is a fresh idea, one that fits the characters to a T. I can definitely picture them fighting crime like this (with maybe a bit more convincing needed, mind you). And it’s hilarious.
At the same time, it also portrays the life of the two outside of their secret identities - and portrays it well. We see their issues, and feel like we’re right there with them. It feels real.
We mentioned in the rules, or in the rule thread, that unfinished entries would be counted, but likely would have to blow us away to have a chance. Well, this did exactly that!Honorable Mentions: One Day, Burning Bridges, and Keep The Earth Beneath My Hooves.

If I had one complaint - AJ folds too easily, imo. There'd be a bit more reluctance to leaving the farm behind for an unknown amount of time. That part feels ever so slightly rushed. The rest, though... fun!

Well, considering that you haven't written one, everyone is better at it! When you do finally write one, I guarantee that it will not be the worst ship fic I've ever read. In fact, go read some of FelixDawn's fics, and then write a ship fic secure in the knowledge that there are definitely fics worse than yours will be.

I've seen those movies before. This is where we pan the camera to center on you, all gross and disfigured, slowly zooming in as the music swells. Cue eyes opening right before the final auditory shriek and then immediately cut to credits while the audience processes the fact that you're not dead. We'll see you in the sequel.

I am sort of curious now. Well, hm. I have some chapters to complete & two group things to quickly finish up... huh. Seeing as even KitsuneRisu has done a few, it stands to reason I should at least try and give it a go.
