Centuries ago, a legendary interdimensional being known as ZORDON came to the city of Angel Grove to establish a command centre for his never ending struggle against evil.
With the aid of his trusted assistant, Alpha 5, the noble master trained five extraordinary children and gave them the power to transform into a superhuman fighting force. In time of great need, the young heroes could use their powers to call upon colossal assault vehicles known only as ZORDS.
These great machines allowed them to battle the space sorceress, Rita Replusa, and her army of monsters. But when defeat seemed likely for Rita, she was forced to create her own warrior.
But when this warrior saw the darkness that this sorceress would bring to this world, he abandoned her teachings and joined ZORDON’s team of heroes. The identity of these six remained a guarded secret.
Today, that tradition continues…
On another normal day in Angel Grove, a plane was flying through the air; within this flying machine, there were eight kids getting ready for what seemed to be the biggest event of their lives.
One of them cheered before shouting, “Come on, were out of here.”
A girl sitting next to him replied, “Easy Jason.”
Another boy said to the group, “Come on guys, we’ve twenty seconds until we’re directly over the landing target.” His statement made the whole group cheer.
Their group was made up of the six friends; Jason, the athletic and awesome one, known for his incredible martial arts technics.
Billy, the smart one; always looks for logical answers to explain things. He never goes anywhere without one of his friends, because as long as he has them by his side, he’s not scared of things like bullies or other things.
Then there’s Zack, another awesome one; he’s known on the streets as one of the coolest wrap dancers in Angel Grove. Zack is also trustworthy, he wouldn’t tell a lie unless he had to; and even if he did, it wouldn’t be to hurt anyone.
Trini, the eldest girl; she can sometimes seem a little strange to the group; but they always enjoy having her around. Despite what some might say, she’s not that strange; she’s just one of the kindest people out there.
Kimberly, the youngest member of the group, and Jason’s little sister; always wanting to cheer up her friends, and make them laugh. Known for her incredible gymnastics and karate skills; impressive for someone of her age.
And then finally, there’s Tommy; the newest member of the group. He moved to town just a few months ago, and was excepted into the group by the others; he enjoys giving what he can, and can perform martial just as good as Jason.
The group was about to perform a skydive in order to raise money for Angel Grove’s Observatory; it needed funding, and the kids pitched this idea to raise money for it.
However, before they could jump, “Alright pinheads, the soaring eagle’s about to fly.” Said a boy that was sat at the back of the plane.
“Ditto, followed by the swooping swallow.” Said the boy sat next to him.
Bulk and Skull, known across Angel Grove as the town knuckle heads; they also take pleasure in bullying other kids at their school. These only signed up to do the jump in order to get the glory; they had no care for the observatory.
Trini stepped forward and said to them, “Well, lead on fly boys.”
The two kids grabbed the door handle and pulled it open; giving them both a good look at what they were about to do.
Skull could feel his hair blowing in the wind, he shouted to Bulk, “That’s a lot of air.”
“After you Skull.” Bulk insisted.
“What are you crazy?! This was your idea!”
They both then felt a pat on their shoulders, they turned to see Kimberly behind them; she said to them, “Hey guys, you might want to slip those on.” she pointed at two parachutes.
Bulk and Skull looked at each other and said in unison, “Good idea.”
As the two of them began putting on their packs, the rest of the group got ready to make the jump; Billy stepped forward and looked at his watch, “Okay guys, three seconds until were over the target zone.”
“Trini, you’re up first.” Tommy then added on.
She turned to them and said, “Right.” She then stood by the door; Trini took two deep breaths before pulling herself out the door and shouting, “Geronimo!” she then began to free fall back to the ground.
Zack followed behind her, “Like a pro!” He shouted before jumping.
“All systems go!” Billy shouted as he jumped next.
Then Jason stood by the door and shouted, “Fun time!” whilst taking the leap of faith out the plane’s door.
Kimberly and Tommy watched their friends begin to free fall back down to the ground; the girl turns to her friend and says, “Show them your stuff.”
“You got it.” Tommy had strapped a snowboard to his feet; he pushed himself out the door and yelled, “Surfs up!” he then cheered as he fell.
Meanwhile, Kimberly turned back to Bulk and Skull; she said, “Catch you boys on the flip side.” Before jumping herself.
Now that the whole squad was falling through the clouds, they decided to show off by performing summersaults and front flips through the air; stunts that they would have no problem performing on the ground. They even tried spinning in the air rapidly; they all seemed like they were enjoying themselves.
Finally, the group came together and joined hands; the fell in a large circle for a few seconds. Before Tommy gave the order and said, “Alright guys, lets break.” The group let go and flew off in different directions; once they were a safe distance apart, they all released their parachutes to begin their final descent to the ground.
On the ground, a crowd of people were waiting for the kids to make their landing; all the people who had donated money to the observatory. In the middle of the crowd was a large bulls-eye target, in order to score the most points for their jump; the kids would have to land right in the centre.
The announcer on the microphone began talking to the crowd, “Ladies and Gentlemen, put your hands together; because here come the kids from Angel Grove High.” The crowd began cheering as the first of them got closer to the ground.
“The first one to make his landing; it’s Zack.” Zack held his feet off the ground long enough to then plant them down on the bulls-eye.
“Next one to land, we have Kimberly.” She did the same as Zack, holding her feet up until she planted them on the middle of the target.
“And here comes her brother Jason.” And again. “Who lands a bulls-eye just like the others.”
Billy and Trini almost come down at the same time; with Trini landing first and Billy after her. The announcer said, “Incredible, the executed that perfectly.”
“Which means Tommy Oliver is that last one to make his landing; they need this one now to make it six for six.”
After taking off her parachute, Kimberly went to watch her friend still falling; as her friends joined her, she then shouted, “Go Tommy!”
Until finally, Tommy held up his snowboard, before proudly planting it on the bulls-eye and scoring them the final point. The crowd went wild; and they had raised enough money from this event to save the observatory.
The final thing the announcer said into his microphone was, “Remember folks, Rhyans Comet passes earth in two days; don’t miss it.”
With the event and the skydive over, the group of friends met up; they began congratulating each other for the awesome thing they just did. Then Billy was the one to remember something, “Hey, has anyone seen Bulk and Skull?
All of them looked up into the air, Trini replied, “I guess those two just couldn’t do it.”
The pilot shouted back to the two knuckle heads who were still in the back of his plane. “You guys better hurry up and jump; were running out of fuel.”
Bulk began muttering to himself, “I’m gonna be the eagle, I’m gonna be the eagle.”
Skull stood right next to him and said, “Be the swallow.” He then gulped before repeating, “Be the swallow.”
“Come on, baby.” Bulk then said.
Until finally, the two of them jumped out of the plane; but as they fell, Skull was holding onto Bulk like a metal vice.
“Hey Skull, let go of me!”
“I want my mommy!”
The two of them screamed like crazy as the continued to descend.
Now that they had the rest of the day to themselves, Jason, Tommy, Trini, Billy, Zack and Kimberly decided to go roller-skating through town. They would enjoy doing tricks on their skates and showing off to their friends.
Whilst going through the centre of town, Tommy had an idea; he said, “Hey, let’s take a shortcut.”
“Right behind you.” Kimberly replied.
The group leaped through a gap in the road, it took them along a path through a construction site; they didn’t get in anyone’s way, they were too fast, they left the site on the other side. However, they weren’t what was going to interrupt the work; because that was going to come from the sky.
Bulk and Skull were descending to the ground; Bulk a opened his parachute and Skull was still holding on tight to him. The foreman in charge of the site looked up at them, and then went to greet them as they landed.
“This doesn’t look like the target landing zone. Where’s the free food.” Skull asked.
So Bulk replied, “You idiot, all your kicking a screaming threw off the stealth eagle’s sense of direction.”
“Stealth eagle? Lame duck is more like it.”
The two of them placed their feet on the ground, once that happened, the foreman walked over to them. “Hey.” he said to them; they both know they were in trouble. “Hey guys, what do you think you’re doing.”
Bulk had to think of something quickly, so he made a story up on the spot; he explained, “Uh… we’re from the Angel Grove building inspector’s office.”
“Yeah.” Skull said, playing along. He pointed at a random building and then in a random direction, “That building’s supposed to be over there.” He then turned back to the foreman, “Who’s in charge around here, huh?”
Before the foreman could answer, one of his workers caught his attention. “Dave, come and have a look at this.”
He listened to his worker and left the two knuckle heads; the two of them saw their chance and just slipped away while all the workers gathered around what one of them had found.
Piercing out of the ground, was what looked like a small black crystal; two workers tried to did at it with their shovels, but it would break free. The foreman knelt down to get a closer look, he then suggested using explosives to get it out. The workers did as instructed and set the dynamite; once everyone was clear, the foreman hit the button and blew it up.
When the smoke cleared, all the construction workers gathered back around the crater that had just been made. What shocked them the most, was that the crystal was still intact, and was actually bigger that they thought.
The foreman jumped into the newly made pit, he saw that the crystal was the size of a man; wanting to find out what this thing was, he went to touch it.
One of his workers asked, “What do you think it is? Obsidian, maybe?”
“No idea.” He replied.
The foreman placed his hand on the black crystal, nothing happened at first; until the rock began to glow and electrocute him. There was a sudden blast of purple and green light before the foreman was thrown out of the pit and into his workers.
His workers gathered around his unconscious body, one of them said, “Boss, are you alright?”
Meanwhile, the group of kids were still roller-skating through their home town; they were coming up to one of the kid hang outs of Angel Grove. Jason then suggested, “Hey guys, let’s get something to eat.”
But before anyone could reply, a beeping noise came from the bracelet Tommy was wearing; all the kids stopped on the spot, they then looked around to find someplace to hide. Tommy suggested, “Let’s go over there.” The group skated behind a bush where no one was watching.
Once they were out of site, Tommy pushed a button on his bracelet and answered the call, “What’s up, Alpha?”
A computerized voice answered back, “Rangers, Zordon needs you in the command centre; it’s urgent.”
“We’re on our way.” Tommy replied.
All of the kids were wearing these bracelets, they each pushed a button and suddenly began to glow a specific colour.
Jason glowed red.
Trini glowed yellow.
Zack glowed black.
Billy glowed blue.
Kimberly glowed pink.
And Tommy glowed green.
The glowing got brighter as the six of them were lifted into the air and flown to where they were going.
Within the Command Centre, a large building in the desert outside of town; Alpha-5, and strange looking robot, was running around his work station, completely freaking out. His station was made up of large control panels and computers; he could monitor all of Angel Grove with this tech.
“Ei, ei, ei; this cannot be happening. Not on Earth of all places.” He moved over to a different station and said, “I have to recalculate the frequency modulator.”
Suddenly, the six kids landed behind him; Jason runs up to the robot and asks, “Alpha, what’s wrong?”
Alpha replied, “A massive surge of evil energy is overloading our sensors; ei, ei, ei, ei, ei.”
Without warning, within a large glass cylinder at the each of the room; the master of all things here appeared. A floating head spirit appeared within the cylinder, Zordon of Eltar; who has been this way ever since he was trapped in a time warp.
Zordon said to the six kids, “Rangers, you must act quickly; your planet is in grave danger.”
Kimberly replied, “Danger from what?”
“Six years ago, an evil tyrant known as King Sombra, tried to conquer the distant planet, known as Equestria. He was defeated before he could use his last resort to win the battle, the Tartarus Titans; twin monsters, capable of enslaving the entire universe.” Zordon explained.
Billy then asked, “What happened to him?”
Zordon continued, “A group heroic warriors, like yourselves; defeated his army from the underworld and finally destroyed him. But his remains were scattered across the galaxy upon his destruction; and now it seems like some of him as be accidently uncovered here in Angel Grove. You must get to his remains and destroy them; before something diabolical happens and Sombra can return.”
Alpha then stepped forward and said, “The Tartarus Titans, were Sombra’s final way to win; if he returns, he’ll use them to destroy Earth and everyone on it.”
“Use extreme caution, rangers.” Zordon then stated. “You are dealing with an evil that is beyond all imagination."
Night had fallen over Angel Grove; after the incident at the construction site, the area was closed off. Two police officers were guarding the site; one of them had fallen asleep, while the other was walking back to him with cups of coffee.
However, by the large black crystal, something unexpected was about to happen; behind the gem, a strange red glow appeared, until there was a large flash of light.
Appearing out of nowhere, came four strange looking people; and when I say people, most of them looked more like monsters.
The first one was terrifying to look at, his body was a light red colour shielded by plates of silver armour; he also had pipes and tubes around his body, pumping a strange blue liquid around his structure. He had scary silver mask, with a spike on top, with a tiny ‘Z’ on the tip; he was also holding a large staff, with a bigger ‘Z’ on the top.
The one behind him was a woman; she looked human, but she had some strange features. Gold pieces were piercing out of her skin and she was wearing an all green outfit; she was carrying with her, a large sceptre with a hook at the top and green gem at the base.
The two creature behind them didn’t need much describing; one was what looked like a gorilla with wings and wearing gold armour. And the other one was a grey man, wearing armour covered in spikes; with two large horns sticking out of his helmet and a red cape.
“Why do we care about some stupid crystal, Zedd?” The woman in green asked.
The one holding the ‘Z’ staff replied, “This is no ordinary crystal, Rita.”
Rita replied, “Well I say, you melt that thing down and turn it into a necklace or me.”
The monster with horns said, “I’m with her, that’d be nice; what do you think, Goldar?”
One of the police officers turned around to see these four creatures standing by the large crystal; he tapped the shoulder of his partner that was asleep. “Hey Kirk, take a look at this.” The sleeping officer woke up and turned around, he received a bit of a fright when he saw these creatures.
Zedd looked at the two cops and said to them, “No need to wake him; in fact, why don’t you take a little nap yourself.” Zedd then pointed his staff at them, bolts of lightning shot from the large ‘Z’ and zapped the officers, knocking them unconscious.
“I could do that.” Doom stated. “I just choose not to.”
Goldar replied, “Zip your lip.”
While those two were arguing, Zedd turned back to the crystal he was here for; he laid his hand on the crystal and said, “Ah, after two long years of searching, you are finally within my grasp.” He lifted his staff, ready to use it. “And now, let’s crack this gem.” Lightning emerged from his staff, electrocuting the crystal; once the energy went away, the gem began to crack.
“Excellent.” Zedd stated as the crystal suddenly began to break apart; until it collapsed into a pile of dust and rocks.
Rita stepped forward and put her hand into the pile of ash, she watched as the dust fell between her fingers; she then turned back to her husband and asked, “What? You spent two years looking for a dusty rock?!”
“Patience, motor-mouth. Watch.” Zedd replied to his wife.
Suddenly, the dust began to lift itself into the air; the dusty cloud started to form a tiny tornado, spinning around and around. The tornado picked up the larger rocks and started putting them back into place; the four creatures could see that inside the mini twister, the rocks were forming something new.
When all the rocks were in place and the dust had dispersed, everyone got a good look at the creature standing before them; lifting his hooves into the air and yarning from being woken up from the afterlife. It then bent its neck to the side and small ‘click’ was heard; the creature then turned to the people that were standing there staring at him.
“Fillies and Gentlecolts, the king…. Is back.”
No doubt about it, it was him; King Sombra, alive and in the flesh. Goldar let out a small, “Yay.”
Rita looked at the dark pony in front of her and said, “What a handsome stallion.”
“Why thank you.” Sombra replied.
Zedd then stepped forward and introduced himself, “I am Lord Zedd, sworn enemy of all that is good and decent; it is a supreme honour to finally meet you.”
King Sombra looked at Lord Zedd and replied, “You are the one who resurrected me? For that, you have my gratitude; tell me friend, how I can ever repay you.”
“Do you recall the name, Zordon of Eltar?” Zedd asked.
“No, I can’t say that I do.” Sombra replied.
Lord Zedd realised he was going to have to try something else; so he explained, “He is the one who is known throughout the galaxy, as the creator of the Power Rangers.”
Now, that name, Sombra recognised straight away; all of his anger was suddenly transferred to his horn, he released a blast of dark magic from his horn, lighting up the sky with green and purple lightning. He growled slightly as the magic died down; but his eyes were still glowing bright green.
Doom then joked, “Sure, them he’s heard of.”
Zedd explained, “I want you to destroy Zordon, so that my evil can once again rain supreme.”
“I will not only destroy him.” Sombra replied. “Because if he is the reason Power Rangers exist, then he is the cause and the very reason I was defeated in the first place; so I will obliterate his entire legacy. It will as if Zordon of Eltar, never existed!”
Rita then said, “Finally, someone who sounds like they can get the job done.” Zedd then groaned at her, while Sombra just smirk at her comment.
Lord said then explained, “We shall leave you to weave your evil ways.” He turned to his wife and two monsters, “Let’s go, Rita.”
The four beings walked away and disappeared in a flash of light; but as soon as they were gone, Sombra got a strange feeling in his nose.
The monster king sniffed lightly before saying, “What is that horrible stench?” he sniffed some more, then figure it out, “It smells like…. Humans.” He said with a growl.
No too far away, there was a multi-coloured glow come from the sky, it landed on the construction site; when the glow went away, the six rangers were visible. They did what they came here to do, they ran over to where the large crystal had been un-earthed.
However, when they reached the pit; they were surprised to see the crystal was gone.
“Guys, what’s going on? Zordon said the crystal would be right here.” Trini stated.
Jason replied, “I don’t know, but I don’t like this.”
Before any of them could do anything else, Tommy felt a hand on his shoulder; they all turned around to see one of the police officers that were standing guard on the site.
The officer asked, “What are you kids doing here?”
The rangers had to think of an excuse as to why they were here; but when no one came out with anything, Billy just replied, “Have you, by any chance, seen an evil dark monster lurking around here?”
“Evil dark monster? What do you mean?” the cop asked back. The rangers believed he thought they were crazy; until he replied, “Wait a minute; did it look something like this?”
Without warning, the body of the police officer morphed into something else; he reshaped himself back into King Sombra, laughing as he did. All the rangers struck battle poses, ready to fight; they didn’t see that coming.
Kimberly reacted with, “Ew gross; to think I used to like unicorns.”
“Too kind, allow me to introduce myself.” The dark pony replied. “I am the rightful ruler of the Crystal Empire and master over all monsters in Equestria; they call me King Sombra.”
Zack replied, “Well pack your bags; because we’re sending you right back where you came from.”
But that statement just made the king chuckle, he then said back, “Mhmm, a human with a big mouth. Not much has changed in six years.”
While Sombra smirked, Tommy followed up with, “Yeah, we’re the Power Rangers.”
Playing the fool, Sombra replied, “Oh no, somepony save me.” He then laughed like the maniac he was. “Ha, Power Rangers huh.” He began to walked away from them. “In my day, the Power Rangers were mighty warriors and worthy opponents; not a bunch of kids.”
He suddenly turned back to them and shouted, “Well, meet my kids!” he then laughed like crazy again, while releasing dark magic from his horn; the magic made puddles of goo on the ground, and from those puddles, monster grew.
These creatures were disgusting to look at, draped in black cloaks and had faces like zombie-aliens; Ghouls. Each of the rangers were a little freaked out, these weren’t the kind of monsters they were used to dealing with.
King Sombra stood in the middle of the ghouls and announced, “From this moment forth, the way of life no longer exists; welcome, to the end of your world!” he once again laughed like crazy before a beam of purple and green energy beamed him away.
“He’s gone.” Tommy stated. He had disappeared from sight, all that was left were his ghouls.
The group of ghouls began to get closer to the rangers, they tried to back away from these things; Kimberly asked, “What we going to do?”
Billy noticed behind them was a large open area; he said, “Looks like there’s plenty of room over there for a fight.”
“Go guys.” Jason ordered. He then swung his leg around and kicked one of the ghouls away; the rest of the team ran for the open area. Jason punched another one of the ghouls before jumping away and joining his friends.
While the ghouls charged for them, Zack said, “Let’s take these beasts.”
“Spread out.” Tommy shouted, all the rangers did as instructed. Tommy then picked up a long pipe and started swinging it around like a bow-staff, “Welcome to the end of your world.” With that said, the fight began.
Tommy swung the pipe around, hitting the face and stomach of any ghoul that came near him; one tried to sneak up behind him, but he jumped it and tripped it up. Once it was down, he purposely fell on his back so he could slam his arm down on the ghoul.
Zack ran across the gravel ground, until something caught his eye; he turned back to the ghoul that was chasing him and asked, “Ever play kick the can?” he kicked a small tin can at the ghoul, distracting it; then he kicked it a few times before kicking it to the ground.
Trini had two ghouls grabbing her arms, they tried to pull her away from the scene; but she fought back. Using her ranger strength, she slammed them both together and said, “Kiss and make up.” After that, she flipped them both over and the landed on their heads.
Jason was running towards a crane machine, she saw that the door was unlocked; so when a ghoul started chasing him, he swung the hatch open and said, “Here, let me get the door.” the door slammed into the ghoul’s face, allowing Jason a chance to kick it away.
Kimberly back flipped over a ghoul and kicked him over; she said, “Sit down.” As it landed on it’s behind. But when a large group of them began running towards her, started back-flipping away. “See ya.” She stated.
“Right behind you, Kimberly.” Billy said as he followed her. That was until a ghoul jumped in front of him and kicked him over, he got back up and knocked the ghoul over and punched it in the chest; Billy lifted his fist off the ghoul and saw it had slime on it. “Does this stuff come out of you?” he asked.
All the rangers fought hard to keep the ghouls at bay, but they couldn’t keep it; the monster minions backed the kids up against the wall, they even threw Zack at them. It seemed like there was more of them; over two dozen of them, the rangers couldn’t fight this many.
“We can’t hold them off.” Billy stated.
The ghouls got closer and closer; Trini stated, “There’s too many of them.”
However, Jason stepped forward with a plan; he said to his friends, “Let’s do it guys!”
Once they were all fully morphed, the Power Rangers summersaulted through the air and landed in front of the ghouls; the thing was, there were no ghouls.
The team looked at where they were, but they were gone.
“Where’d they go?” Kimberly asked.
“Keep your eyes peeled.” Zack stated.
And then Tommy noticed across the construction site, “Head’s up guys, over there.” He pointed to a building that was undergoing construction; the rangers had no choice but to follow them in. “Be careful, it could be a trap.” Tommy explained.
The ranger agreed and made their way inside the building.
Back at the Command Centre, Zordon and Alpha were waiting to hear back from the rangers; however, the celestial being believed that they were not going to contact them. He sensed a terrible presence within range of their base.
Zordon caught the attention of his assistant, “Alpha, my sensors tell me the rangers were too late. Sombra is on his way here.”
“Don’t worry; no one enters the Command Centre without a power coin.” Alpha replied, not worrying about anything. That was until a small alarm was sounded from behind.
Alpha turned to the main entrance, the door seemed intact; but that didn’t stop whatever it was from getting in. From underneath the door, Zordon and Alpha could see a large shadow creeping in; it slipped under the door and into the room.
Once it was inside, the shadow began to form a body; when it was done, Sombra was revealed.
The King of Monsters looked around the room, he then chuckled at the sight of it; the villain stated, “Pretty fancy for humans and peasants; my ranger team didn’t even have a headquarters.”
While the dark unicorn wasn’t watching, Alpha snuck up behind him and tried to attack him from behind; the little robot managed to hit him in the back of the head, but it did nothing to him.
“Uh oh.” Alpha said.
Sombra chuckled again, before releasing energy from his horn; the purple and green electricity he emitted short circuited Alpha-5, temporarily shutting him down. As the robot fell to the floor, Sombra turned back to Zordon, the one he was here for.
Zordon explained, “You’re exactly like the archives describe you, Sombra; you enjoy picking on creatures smaller than yourself.”
King Sombra replied, “Silence, slave; I did not come here to listen to some kind of lecture. Our mutual friend, Lord Zedd, informs me you are the one who created the Power Rangers; which means all the crimes they’ve committed against me and my throne are on your hands.” He then looked at Zordon again, “So to speak.”
But all Zordon said in return was, “You won’t get away with this, Sombra.”
“The Power Rangers robbed me of my prime; was to be the supreme ruler of the most powerful empire in all Equestria.” Sombra explained. “And now, it’s time, to pay the price.”
Sombra ignited his horn and blasted a powerful blast of magic, the beam hit one of the machines that was scattered around the room. While Zombra was destroying the Command Centre, he began talking to keep himself entertained.
“Oh, I heard such wonderful things about this worlds history; the Black Plague.” He said before blasting one of the support columns.
“The French Revolution.” He said before blasting the control panel.
“A triangle in the ocean, full of monsters.” He then laughed at his own comments before continuously blasting everything in the room; as he did so, Zordon began to grow weaker. Sombra laughed harder when the walls of the Command Centre began to come down.
Meanwhile, the Power Rangers were searching the building for the Ghouls; even if they were too hard to fight, the rangers couldn’t just let these things run around. The rooms were pitch black, no one could see anything; Jason led the group through the maze of hallways.
Billy kicked something around a corner, but ended up hit an old chair; he said to the rest of the group, “I’ve got a bad feeling about this.” Little did they know, that around the other corner, one of the ghouls was watching them.
The rangers kept walking through the building; that was until a noise from out of nowhere spooked them, they all struck battle poses as they looked around.
“Anybody see anything?” Kimberly asked.
Tommy then stated, “We need some light.”
Trini stepped forward and said, “I got you.” The saber-tooth tiger eyes on her helmet lit up light torches, the group could now see where they were going.
As the Power Rangers kept moving, they didn’t notice two more ghouls hiding behind columns and watching them from afar. While they were walking, they decided to talk about their situation.
“Zordon said that a group of warriors defeated Sombra; do you guys think they were Power Rangers like us?” Zack asked.
Jason replied, “Well, Zordon did tell us that many rangers exist here on Earth; and he had a hand in creating them all.”
When Billy was getting tired of just searching blindly, he activated a scanner in his helmet; he scanned the area for any sign of the ghouls.
“Talk to men Billy, what do you see?” Tommy said.
But Billy replied, “The readings are of the scale, I can’t calculate what these creatures are made of, but I can’t track them.”
Suddenly, a reading came up on the scanner; Billy shouted out, “Over there!” he pointed in a direction, the rest of the team saw a ghoul trying to make a run for it.
“Let’s power up.” Jason stated.
“Right.” The rest of the team said in unison.
All the ghouls came out of hiding and charged for the Power Rangers, each ranger went off on their own to fight the group of ghouls they had chosen; before this though, Kimberly had walked into one.
She kicked it into the air, and said, “You guys make me sick.” She kicked up and up, again and again; until she let it hit the ground, after that, it disappeared in a flash of purple light.
Billy had two of them corner him, until he lifted his leg in the air and kicked one away; then he jumped at the other one and tackled it to the ground.
Tommy was thrown through the wall, he got up and was met with three ghouls; the Green Ranger swung his leg around and kicked two of them in the face, knocking them over. But the third one kicked him over; it would have got to him, if Tommy hadn’t shot his fist into the air, punching it away.
“Back off!” he stated. Tommy then spun around while jumping up into the air, saying to his opponents, “Later dudes.” He landed on a platform above them. He didn’t notice a ghoul sneak up behind him, but before the monster could attack, Tommy grabbed its arm and punched it rapidly in the stomach.
To finish him, she kicked him away, sending him flying into a wall; when the ghoul hit the concrete wall, he disappeared in a flash of purple light.
Outside the building, Trini was in combat with a ghoul; she kicked it multiple times before it stumbled away. Once she had enough distance, she ran towards it and kicked it into the sky; it crashed into a wall before disappearing like the others.
“Ghouls? More like ‘Drools’.”
Jason and Zack summersaulted off a platform, they were followed by three of Sombra’s minions; as the monsters backed the rangers into a corner, they came up with an idea. “Up and over?”
“You got it.” Zack replied.
They both jumped over the ghouls and kicked them all to the ground; Jason throwing both his legs into the air and kicking the faces of two of them, while swung his leg around kicked down the third. Suddenly, Zack noticed a fourth one charging up to them, “Jason, behind you.” He ran forward and Jason gave him a lift; Zack was lifted into the air and shouted, “Going air-born!” he kicked the ghoul in the side of the head.
Once that one was down, they noticed one of the others was getting back up; Jason stated, “These guys don’t know when to quit.” He looked over at Zack and asked, “Double Whammy?”
“You’re on.”
The Red and Black Ranger each kicked the ghoul in the side of its head; finally knocking it down for good. All the grounded ghouls began shaking before pop like bubbles, disappearing in purple flashes.
Somewhere else, Billy only had to deal with one ghoul; but the way this thing was fighting, even that was a challenge. The ghoul threw the Blue Ranger off the platform they were standing on and he crashed into a pillar; his ranger suit protected him from anything serious, but he wasn’t going to let that thing get away with this.
“You’re in for it now.” Billy stated. He began parkour-ing his way back up to where the ghoul was, once he reached it, he asked, “Did you miss me?” The Blue Ranger then tripped him up and threw him off the ledge; when the ghoul hit the ground, he disappeared in purple flash.
The Pink Ranger had four of them surrounding her, with nothing to defend herself with, she picked up a chain she found in a rubble pile. “I never did much ribbon dancing; but let’s see how much I remember.” Kimberly began swinging the chain round like a ribbon wand.
One ghoul got hit in the face, another got the chain wrapped around its leg and got tripped up; and the third was flipped over when the chain whipped him up the chin. Until the final ghoul was knocked down, when Kimberly threw the chain forward and let fly right into its chest.
“Gotta love it.” Kim stated.
Tommy had one last ghoul to deal with, he noticed it below where he was standing; The Green Ranger jumped down and delivered a powerful kick to the ghoul’s chest. The monster smashed into the wall and exploded into purple light.
However, while Trini was finishing her group; more of them appeared and over powered her, she was thrown against the wall. “Hey, no fair.” The Yellow Ranger stated.
But out of nowhere, Billy came swinging in on a chain; he shouted, “Hold on Trini!” Billy let go of the chain and rolled across the ground, he knocked over all the ghouls like a bowling ball and pins. Once they were down, he ran over see his friend.
“Are you okay?” he asked her.
Trini replied, “Yeah, I’m okay.”
“Let’s finish these freaky parasites.”
“You said it.”
The two rangers back-flipped up to where all their team were meeting up; all the Power Rangers summersaulted or back-flipped in to meet with the final group of ghouls. While the rangers were standing there, Tommy noticed something; the ghouls were standing under a boulder that was being held up by a crane.
The Green Ranger stated, “Why do you guys check my favourite toy; the Dragon Dagger.” Tommy pulled a small dagger from his belt; he threw the blade into the crane’s tip, and in doing so, cut the chain that was holding up the chunk of concrete.
All the ghouls noticed the boulder falling towards them, before they could run, the rock splattered them into purple slime; the rangers noticed the ooze puddle-ing out from underneath.
“Yeah alright, now let’s go find Sombra.” Tommy stated. But before the rangers could make their move, something strange started happening; their rangers suits began sparking and fading away.
Kimberly, Jason and Zack watched their suits disappeared, “What’s happening?” Kim asked.
“We’re losing power.” Billy replied, as his and Trini’s suits disappeared.
Tommy said nothing as the Green Ranger suit faded away.
Trini was the first to ask, “What’s going on?”
Zack tried to use his communicator, “Alpha, come in.” but no one answered.
The rangers concluded that the best way to get answers would be to go back to the Command Centre, so that’s what they did.
It took much longer to get to the Command Centre without teleporting, but the ranger finally arrived; once they were inside, they could already tell that something bad had happened here. The door into the main control room was closed, it usually open; but the strangest part that it was covered in the same purple slime those ghouls were made off.
“Ew, that’s disgusting.” Trini stated.
“Let’s get it open.” Jason said.
The ranger team pride the door open, causing it to spark, which made Kim shriek; once that could see inside, the control room was completely destroyed. Machinery and computers all fried and smashed, the only lights on were the ones that hadn’t been blasted with something.
“What?” Zack asked.
“What happened here?” Kimberly asked.
“This isn’t good.” Tommy said.
While walking through the mess, it took Billy to notice the one thing that was out of place; he shouted, “Zordon!” him and the rest of the group ran to where Zordon chamber was, only to find the glass had been smashed; and lying in the centre of the broken glass was an old grey man, wearing and grey robe.
Zack asked, “Is that…?”
“Yeah.” Jason replied, “It’s Zordon.”
“What happened to him?” Kimberly asked.
Billy replied, “Outside of his time warp, he’s dying; he needs power.”
Zordon opened his eyes and looked at the group of kids that were surrounding him, he managed to say, “Rangers, thank goodness you’re safe.”
“Don’t worry, were gonna get you back inside.” Tommy stated.
“I’m afraid that is impossible.” Zordon replied. “The power has been destroyed, it is gone; the Zords, the weapons, all of it. The Power Rangers are no more; King Sombra’s won.” The kids noticed that he was getting weaker just by talking.
Billy then said, “Were losing him.”
Kimberly then said, “Zordon, you can’t leave us; ever since you came into our lives, you’ve been like a father to us all.”
“You must be strong.” Zordon replied.
The team didn’t know what to do; their power was gone, now they had no way to protect the planet from Sombra, Zedd, anyone.
“Rangers…”
Everyone looked behind them and saw Alpha walking towards them; the team ran to check on him, but Kimberly stayed with Zordon. Tommy asked, “Alpha, are you okay.”
He replied, “I’ll be fine.” But then he told them something they needed to know. “There may be a power that can save Zordon.”
“What power?” Jason asked.
“It’s on the distant planet, Equestria, Sombra’s home world; but it’s very dangerous. All who have tried for it have been deemed unworthy.” Alpha-5 explained.
Zack replied, “We have to try.”
Alpha then walked to one of the computers that was still working, “Maybe, if can channel what energy we have left, I might have just enough power to get you there; but, there won’t be any left to get you back.”
“So how do we get back?” Trini asked.
“We have to hope the power is there.” Kimberly said, walking over to them; she’d being listening as well. “Zordon’s life depends on it.”
“Are you ready?” Alpha asked.
Jason turned to his friends and said, “We may not have our powers, but we’re still the Power Rangers.” The rest of the team agreed, they gave Alpha the ‘okay’, they were ready.
The robot typed in the access codes and began channelling the power, before he activated it; he turned to his friends and explained, “Remember rangers, Zordon doesn’t have much time.”
Each ranger began to glow their signature colour, before teleporting away; but when this happened, the last of the lights in the Command Centre went out, all the power was gone.
“Oh no. Ei, ei, ei, ei,” Alpha muttered, “Please hold on, Zordon.”
The Power Rangers teleport off Earth and past the moon; and they were noticed by the moon’s residents. Lord Zedd, Rita Replusa, Goldar and Doom watched from their balcony, the rangers flew past them and off into space.
When Zedd and Rita reunited after ten thousand years apart, they made a base for themselves on the moon; much more to their liking then all the caves Rita just hid in since her return.
Rita was the first one to say, “I can’t believe it. How could he let them slip away; why, he’s no better than the rest of the hired help around here.”
“Oh, give it a rest.” Zedd replied.
Doom then tried to calm Rita down, “Not to worry, my queen; I’m sure this is just part of his plan.”
“You know Doom.” Rita began saying. “Its times like this I wish I could remember the reason why I resurrected you.”
The four of them then turned to the entrance to their chamber, it opened by itself and let King Sombra into the room. The King of Monsters put on a smile as he looked around; he actually admired the decor of Zedd’s castle.
Sombra stated, “Amazing; much more tasteful then my old lair.” The dark unicorn thought for a moment, “Then again, it was the underworld after all.”
Zedd and Rita marched towards Sombra, demanding some answers; Rita stated, “You horn headed simpleton; the rangers have fled the planet.” She then turned to her husband, “I thought you said this guy was the king of all monsters and evil; why, he’s nothing but poor excuse for a…”
Before she could finish, Sombra didn’t want to hear the end of that, so he used his horn and magic to make Rita’s mouth disappear. She shook her hands and tried to scream, but she had no mouth to do so; Goldar and Doom were secretly laughing.
“Finally, someone who can shut her up.” Zedd said in relief.
“You’re whining is getting very dull, my dear.” Sombra stated. The dark unicorn walked closer to the group and explained his intentions. “You two obviously need to learn what it truly means to be a dark ruler. I believe the circumstances force us to choose a new leader; and I pick…..me.” Sombra laughed at his own remark; as he walked away, Rita’s mouth returned.
But now, Zedd was starting to get angry; he muttered, “Who does this horse think he’s dealing with?”
Sombra had the nerves to walk up to Lord Zedd’s throne, he jumped up onto it and sat down; the king explained, “The King of all Monsters, is taking over.”
“No one double crosses Lord Zedd and lives!” Zedd cried, he used his staff to blast a bolt of dark energy at Sombra; however, Sombra just used his magic to create a force field.
When Zedd stopped blasting, Sombra chuckled before saying, “My turn.” Rita and Zedd had no chance of escape, Sombra used his magic to turn them both to stone; Goldar and Doom watched their masters turn from their leaders to stone statues.
Sombra smiled at his fine work, he said, “Oh, I love garden décor.” After admiring the statues, he then turned to the two monsters that were left, “Now you two have a choice, you can either serve me, or join your friends.” Sombra explained as his eyes and horn started glowing.
“Uh, we never liked those dingle-dorks in the first place.” Goldar replied.
“You said it, they stink.” Doom followed up with.
These comments made Sombra smile; Goldar then asked, “So, what are we going to do about the Power Rangers, oh my great master?”
The king stood up again and replied, “Ah yes, the Power Rangers.” And that’s when something caught Sombra’s eye. Above the room, the décor was made up of statues, creatures that were half man, half bird. Sombra used his magic to blast the statues, he then levitated them to the ground; after blasting them with more magic.
After a few seconds, the stone went away, and all that was left was….
Monsters bird men, flapping about and screeching like crows; Sombra approached his new minions and shouted, “Quiet!” the bird men were silent and listened to their master.
“Now, my Gyruta Warriors; you will fly after the rangers, you find out where they are going, and you will tear them apart.” Sombra ordered.
The Gyrutas then ran for the balcony and jumped, they then flapped their wings and began flying in the same direction of the Power Rangers; all Sombra did was laugh like the villain he was as they flew away.
Meanwhile, across the galaxy, the Power Rangers had arrived at their destination.
The team of heroes touched down on the planet’s surface, the last of the energy disappeared; the rangers looked at their surroundings, they were in a large forest. The trees were huge, the bushes seemed like they went on forever and the sounds coming from the distance were like nothing from Earth.
“I think we’re here.” Kimberly said.
Jason stepped in front of the group, he and the others didn’t notice Trini walk off; Jason explained, “We should try and find a way out of this forest, then we can start looking for this great power.”
Suddenly, Trini came running back towards the group; she said, “Guys, hide; something’s coming.” The rangers did as instructed and duck into one of the bushes; they waited for the thing Trini saw to go away.
Zack wanted to get a closer look at this thing; he poked his head out of the bush slightly, but when he saw what it was, he got a real shock. This creature was something he had never seen before; it was walking on for legs, and it had three heads. It was a giant tiger with a goat head sticking out of its shoulder, with a snake for a tail; the creature growled as it walked past.
“What the heck is that?” Zack asked, terrified.
Billy poked his head out of the bush and saw it as well, somehow, he knew what it was. “That is called a Chimera.”
Tommy then asked, “How do you know?”
“Am I the only one that paid attention in that class about Greek myths and monsters?” Billy replied with.
When the Chimera walked away, the rangers knew it was safe to come out of hiding; Jason stepped forward and explained again, “We should get out of here before that thing comes back.”
“Or before something much worse comes along.” Tommy replied with.
The Power Rangers found a dirt path and began following it to, hopefully the exit; but what they didn’t know, was that from a distance, something was watching them.
A humanoid figure in a cloak was watching the rangers leave; while keeping a safe distance, it followed them.
Back on Earth, Sombra was ready to put his plan into motion; the king had broken into an abandoned chemicals factory, he was using it for his base of operation. But in order for him to begin his plan for world domination, as much as he hated to admit it, he would need some help. He needed to grow his Tartarus Titans in order to use them to attack this planet, but he had no way of doing that.
“Taking over the world is one thing; but finding people to do it for you, that’s the killer.” Sombra explained, sighing as he said so.
Doom and Goldar were there with him; Doom stepped forward and asked, “Would you like me to make a few calls?”
Sombra turned to the two monsters and replied, “No need, I’m going to recruit the parents of Angel Grove.”
“Uh, no offence boss; but they might find you a little freaky.” Goldar explained.
“Well I suppose you’d be the expert on that.” Sombra then levitated Doom in the air to prove a point. “You forget, I’m a master of the dark mystic arts.” He then dropped Doom.
The horned monster replied, “How could I forget, I never knew.”
King Sombra walked along a catwalk over the vats of old chemicals, he explained his master plan, “First, I’ll turn them into zombies; and then order them to work this factory, to begin hatching my titans.” He used his magic to make two egg shaped items appear; one was black like tar, while the other was orange like lava.
Goldar then asked, “How are you going to pull this off?”
“By showing the parents the wonders of being wicked; with a little help from the knowledge I gained battling humans for a year.” Sombra then blasted one of the machines with his magic, the contraption then started working again; it began filling an empty vat with a strange green liquid.
Sombra then blasted the cogs and wheels behind Goldar and Doom, they started spinning and the whole factory started working again.
“Finally I can finish what I started six long years ago.” Sombra stated. “Little do these humans know, they’re about to help end their own world.” The King of Monsters then started laughing at his statement, the two monsters behind him began laughing as well.
Until Sombra said, “Stop it, get to work.”
“Yes, your royal heinous-highness.” Doom replied.
The Power Rangers were wandering through the trees, hoping to find some kind of that they were going the right way; but all they could see was forest. As they kept walking, the entered a large open area; they could look up and see the sky.
As the other rangers pressed on, Kimberly sat down on a rock she found to think for a second; Jason noticed this and went over to talk to her.
“Hey, you okay, Kim?” he asked her.
Kimberly replied, “I was just thinking about Zordon; and everything we’ve been through together.”
Jason understood; he remembered the day Billy found the Power Coins, and then the next day they fought Putties for the first time, and then they met Zordon.
Trying to comfort her sister, Jason explained, “Don’t worry, we’ll find this power; and then we’ll send that freak King Sombra back to the underworld where belongs. And then Zordon will rise again, and we’ll continue to be the Power Rangers, once again.”
Once they were done talking, the two were ready to join the rest of the group; however, when Kimberly turned around, she screamed.
The two of them ducked as a giant bird came flying towards them; it just missed them and flew over their heads. “Whoa, what was that?” they looked up again and saw more of those birds flying around; their screeching caught the attention of the other rangers as well.
Trini was the first to notice that these birds looked more like men; she turned to Billy and asked, “Do you think these are more locals?”
“Too early to tell.” Billy replied.
It was clear that these things weren’t friendly, it was Sombra Gyruta Warriors, they’d found the rangers; when one of them caught close to the ground, it stopped flapping its wings and tackled Tommy to the ground. One of them tackled Zack; and then another one tackled Trini.
All the birds were landing and attacking the rangers; they tried to fight back the best they could, but without their powers, they could fight as good. Jason managed to kick one of them off Tommy, but it didn’t stay down.
A Gyruta was flying right towards Billy, but the Blue Ranger managed to jump out of the way; causing the bird to fly right into a tree. “You wanna know a funny thing about morphing?” Billy asked.
“What’s that?” Tommy replied.
“You don’t appreciate it until you can’t do it anym…”
Before he could finish, Billy was knocked down by one of the birds; then Tommy was hit and knocked over again. The Gyrutas were grabbing the rangers and trying to hold them still so they could attack them; but the rangers were trying to fight back.
Whilst trying to fight, Kimberly didn’t notice one of them flying up behind her; before any of her friends could warn her, the bird used his talon feet to grab her by her shoulders and lift her into the air.
She screamed slightly as she was hoisted away; Kim called out, “Somebody help me!”
But no one else could, they had their own problems; Trini shouted, “They’re too strong!”
“We need our powers!” Zack cried.
Kimberly was being lifted higher and higher; she shouted, “Uh, let me go, big bird!”
When suddenly, something caught everything’s attention; the cloaked figure who had been following the rangers came from behind a tree and shouted, “Leave them alone!” The Gyruta then dropped Kimberly and flew towards the figure.
But when the bird got close enough, the cloaked figure jumped up and over the bird; letting it crash into a bush.
The figure then pulled something out of his pocket, it looked like a cell phone; he opened the device and typed in a number code. The figure then did a strange hand gesture while saying, “Magical Source, Harmony Force!”
Red energy then consumed the cloak man, and encasing him in red armour; the figure then shouted his title, “Burning Heart of Chaos, Draconnequus Warrior; Defender of Equestria!”
All the ranger got away from the birds, they were able to get a good look at the one the Gyrutas were all focused on now. Trini asked, “Is that a Power Ranger?”
“I don’t know, but that armour looks epic.” Zack replied.
Using the sword and shield in his hands, the warrior began his fight with the birds. One tried to attack him, but with one slash from his sword, the bird was knocked down; he swung his sword again and struck down three more of them. The warrior then jumped over the rest and landed behind them, he turned back to them and aimed his shield at the birds.
“Chaos Blast!” he shouted, his shield opened and blast of red fire was released, blasting the Gyrutas.
When it seemed like the birds had no chance at beating this thing, they did the smart thing and started flying away; the warrior ran after them, until they were too high to follow anymore.
“And don’t come back!” the warrior shouted, pointing his sword at them; he then placed his sword and shield on a holder on the back of his armour
The rangers approached the warrior; Tommy stepped forward and said, “That was amazing, thanks.” He reached his hand out, wanting a hand shake; but the warrior just turned to them and slapped his hand away.
The warrior explained, “If you humans want to thank me; go back to Earth where you belong.”
“We can’t go back.” Trini replied.
“We were told there was a great power here, is it true?” Billy then asked.
The warrior replied, “Yes, everything you see before you, is held together and was created by the power; and you really think you’re worthy enough to take it?”
Jason then stepped forward and explained, “Trust us, we’re worthy.”
Suddenly, Jason was tripped over by something and fell on his back; the warrior drew his sword and held it on Jason’s chest. “Leave Equestria, I won’t ask you again.”
Things were escalating now, so Trini stepped forward and explained, “Look, we don’t want any trouble; are leader Zordon got hu…”
“Zordon?” The Warrior then replied. “Did you say ‘Zordon’?”
Kimberly replied, “You know Zordon?”
The warrior took his sword of Jason and allowed him to get up, he then explained, “Not directly; but if I understand the legends, he began the Power Rangers. And if it weren’t for Power Rangers, I wouldn’t be on this planet; so in a small way, I owe him everything.”
Zack then asked, “Who are you?”
Thinking it was time, the warrior put his sword away and removed his helmet; the rangers were greeted by a human man, brown hair, blues eyes and glasses. This man explained, “I am Adam, last of the Harmony Force Power Rangers and the Draconnequus Warrior, protector of this world and the great power.” Adam then asked, “Tell me, what’s happened to Zordon?”
“He was attack by this freaky unicorn, named King Sombra.” Tommy explained.
Suddenly, Adam’s mood changed from curious to worried, “King Sombra is back?”
“You’ve heard of him?” Zack asked.
Adam replied, “Heard of him; I fought him, me and my team were the ones who defeated him. If we don’t hurry, Earth is doomed. Follow me.” Adam then lead the team of rangers through the forest to where they could make a plan; because with what lied ahead, they would need on.
The Command Centre was still in ruin, Zordon was getting weaker by the hour; Alpha was doing all he could to try and get the power restored. But, all the computers were damaged beyond repair; nothing would work.
Zordon managed to mutter, “Alpha, I fear for the rangers’ safety.”
However, the robot replied, “Please Zordon, save your strength, you need to rest.”
“We must try and make contact with them.” Zordon then explained. “Is possible I can help them?”
Alpha then had an idea, “Maybe if I recall some energy from the trans-morph core, maybe we can make contact through the viewing globe.”
Zordon was now struggling to stay awake, “Please, please hurry.” He muttered.
“Ei, ei, ei, ei, ei; hold on.”
“Boys and girls of all ages, gather round and feast your eyes on my latest energy drink that is sweeping the market.”
A man dressed like a wizard was at the fairground, he giving out a new energy drink; one that he was saying was the best in store.
“I promise, you just can’t lose, when you’ve got your own supply of Somb-Aid.” The wizard explained.
One of the kids asked, “What does it taste like?”
But all the wizard said in return was, “Show it to your parents, show it to your friends; when you’ve got Somb-Aid, the fun never ends.”
Another opened a can and tried a bit; but when he tasted it, he stated, “This stuff is kind of gross.”
“I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase that looks can be deceiving; I’m sure once you’ve had enough, you all won’t believe it.” The wizard explained. “And did I mention, it’s free.”
“I’ll take some.” An older kid shouted.
The wizard then began handing out packs of six to each child that reached out to grab it; once they heard it was free, they all started going for it.
As he was handing it out, the wizard explained, “Take it home in boxes, take it home in cases; if your parents try to stop you, just spray it their faces.” That last statement made all the kids cheer, they all wanted a can of Somb-Aid now.
Meanwhile, on the planet Equestria, Adam was leading the rangers through the forest; they had been walking for some time now, and the rangers were getting curious.
Billy asked, “Adam, where are you taking us?”
“You shall know soon enough.” Adam replied.
But Kimberly then stated, “We have to hurry, Zordon won’t last much longer.”
The rangers wandered through the trees, over rivers and around bushes; they could see anything in front of them, on account of all the trees. But Adam seemed to know where he was going, so they just stayed behind him; until finally, they’d reached their destination.
Jason was the first one to say, “Hey guys, check it out.”
In front of them, was a large castle; just slap bang in the middle of the trees. The team crossed the rope bridge and followed Adam to the front door; when he went to open the door, the rangers watched his armour disappear, leaving just casual Earth clothes.
Adam gestured the rangers to follow him inside; when they all entered the front room, Adam announced, “Fluttershy, I’m home.”
A sweet and innocent voice was heard from the other room, “I’m in the kitchen.”
Zack was trying to understand this front room, it didn’t make any sense; tables were on the ceiling but not falling, stair cases led to nowhere, and a book shelf was just floating in the air.
“Uh guys, I don’t feel so good.” Zack explained. He almost fell over, but Tommy caught him. Adam turned back to them and smiled at their actions.
He explained, “Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it.”
Trini looked down when she felt something brushing up against her leg, but when she saw what it was, she jumped; it was a pillow, but it was moving like a cat. The zipper opened up like a mouth and it ‘moo’ed’ a cow.
Tommy walked up to Adam and said, “This whole place is really….really…”
“I believe the word you looking for is ‘chaotic’.”
After hearing a voice from beside them, the rangers turned to see a creature more strange than anything they’ve seen on this planet so far. It looked like it was made up of multiple animal parts; with its bat wing and lizard leg. The ranger took defensive positions, ready to fight; but Adam stopped them.
Adam explained, “It’s alright kids; this is Discord, he owns the castle you’re standing in.”
Discord then explained, “Discord, Lord of Chaos, how do you do.” He reached his lion paw out to Jason; the ranger shook his hand, accepting the greeting.
Fluttershy then flew out of the kitchen and saw the humans Adam had brought home; it had been a few years since she’d seen another human being. In her calm voice, she asked, “Adam, would your friends like some snacks?”
“I could eat.” Trini replied.
“I’ll put out some carrot sticks.” Fluttershy said before flying back into the kitchen.
Discord then said, “You kids must be tired after your trip; please sit down.” Discord then snapped his fingers and made a table and chairs appear; this made all the rangers gasp.
That’s when Adam explained, “This world runs on magic; that’s how things work here. Including the powers you seek.” All the rangers joined him in sitting around the table.
The yellow Pegasus came back and put the food on the table, she then sat down next to her husband, Discord and listened to the rangers conversation.
“Once you kids have had something to eat and rested, and explained what exactly is happening on Earth; we can talk about the power.” Adam explained.
Back on Earth, life was pretty normal in Angel Grove; a man was driving home from work, happy that he’d completed another work day and was happy to see his wife and kids. When pulled his car up to the drive, he turned off the engine, locked the car and walked into his house.
“Honey, I’m home.” He announced when he entered the living room.
It seemed like he was the only one home, he was about to go to his fridge for a drink, when he noticed something sitting on his kitchen table. A was pack of canned drinks, the label read, ‘Somb-Aid’; he took a can out of the pack to get a closer look at it.
The man then opened the can to sniff the liquid; there was something strange about its smell.
The only thing left he could was taste it, he put the can to his mouth and drank some of the Somb-Aid; but when he did, something strange happened.
He dropped the can and let it splash the drink on the floor, his eyes began to glow green; he said nothing as he wandered out of his house again.
Walking like a zombie, he wandered down the street; surprisingly he wasn’t the only one. His street was filled with wandering people, walking like mindless zombies, all of them heading towards the old abandoned chemical plant.
At the Command Centre, Alpha was trying his best to fix what he could; he’d been rewiring things all day, and it seemed like he’d finally gotten something working again. “That should do it, let’s give it a whirl."
Alpha diverted some power to the viewing globe, an orb that the rangers could use to see all of Angel Grove; Alpha was able to pick a TV frequency and tuned into the local news.
The report doing the broadcast explained her story, “It’s been several hours since the first report was made to the Angel Grove Police Department, and now it seems that the number of missing person cases continues to grow.”
Suddenly, the broadcast was cut off; the channel automatically changed to an advert. Now on the air, was the wizard from the fairground, promoting his drink.
“Hi folks, Wizard Sombra here; are you board of your youth, are you board with your job, are you board with your life? Then come on down to Angel Grove fair; and have some Somb-Aid.” The wizard then held up the cans of his drink.
Alpha couldn’t believe this, “Ei, ei, ei, ei, ei, Zordon; Sombra’s brain washing the city.”
Zordon managed to mutter, “Alpha, our only hope is to pray for the rangers’ safe return; I just hope they’re okay.”
“I can’t believe this; after years of thinking King Sombra was gone for good, he returns. And now he has a new planet to conquer.” Adam stated.
Jason then explained, “Which is why Alpha sent us here, he told us about the great power that defeat Sombra once; we need it to do it again.”
Suddenly, the front door opened, standing in the doorway was another pony; however, this one didn’t have wings or a horn, this one looked more like a normal earth pony. She was bright pink with a purple mane, and her eyes; she had no pupils, just spirals.
And behind her, another strange looking creature; it looked like a pony with a horn and wings, but this one looked more like an insect, or a skeleton.
The pink pony then said, “Hey everypony, we’re here.”
Discord smiled and flew over to them, “Screwball, my dear; how are you?”
When Discord lifted his daughter up to hug her, everyone in the room noticed her swollen tummy; Screwball replied, “Very pregnant, Daddy; the twins have been kicking all morning.”
This was a happy time for this family, some months back, it was announced that Screwball was pregnant; and quite recently, she found out she was having twins. Fluttershy then flew over to hug her daughter, and then she hug the bug-like pony; Mothball, Screwball’s husband and the father of her babies.
Once the family had finishing hug each other, Adam stood up and walked over to them parents-to-be; Screwball noticed her human friend coming towards her and hugged tightly. Gently, Adam then placed his hand on her stomach and asked, “How are my little god children?”
When Screwball found out she was pregnant, she wanted Adam to be the god-father; but when she found out she was having twins, she chose not to get a second one and just let Adam be the god-father to both of them.
“They can’t wait to get tout and meet their family.” Screwy replied.
Fluttershy muttered, “Just like their mother.” Remembering being pregnant with Screwball.
“Hey, where’s Zany?” Mothball then asked.
Discord replied, “He’s gone to Sweet Apple Acres to play with Applespike for the day.”
In all the commotion, Adam had completely forgotten what he had to do; he turned back to the kids sitting around the table. He then walked over them and explained, “Okay Power Rangers, I’m convinced; follow me.”
Adam then kissed Screwball on the forehead and patted Mothball on the back, he said, “See you guys later.” And then led the rangers out of the castle and across the robe bridge.
The family waved goodbye to the humans; Adam led them to the entrance to the other half of the forest. The half of the forest was darker then the half the rangers landed in, they looked at the path that was ahead of them, it was a little unnerving.
Adam explained, “There, behold this half of the Everfree Forest, there is a cave; inside is the power that you seek. But to keep intruders away, I placed defences within the trees; no one has ever survived an attempt to reach it.”
“So how can we?” Trini asked.
“You were chosen by Zordon, I have faith in his wisdom.” Adam replied. He then turned away from the woods and explained, “Inside every group of friends, each member represents a single element of harmony; Honesty, Generosity, Loyalty, Kindness and Laughter. Form a circle around me and join hands; I’m going to give you what magic I can, to give a chance to get to the power.”
The rangers did as instructed, they circled Adam and held their hands together; Adam chanted a quick spell, which morphed him into his Draconnequus Warrior armour, minus the helmet. He then held up his shield and released a wave of good magic; the magic was then absorbed by the bodies of the rangers.
Once this happened, the rangers’ clothes began to change; into something new; ninja suits. Each suit matched the colour of the ranger.
Jason’s was Red.
Trini’s was Yellow.
Kimberly’s was Pink.
Billy’s was Blue.
Zack’s was….Green.
And Tommy’s was…White.
When the magic faded away, the rangers looked at what they were wearing; they looked amazing. However, Zack stepped forward and said, “Uh Adam, I’m not supposed to be green.”
Tommy then stepped forward and said, “Yeah, I am.”
“Trust me rangers, there is no mistake; everything happens for a reason.” Adam explained.
Adam then stepped towards Tommy and explained, “Tommy, you find pleasure in giving instead of receiving; you are the Element of Generosity.”
Then Zack, “Zack, you never lie to your friends unless the situation demands it and you never use the truth to hurt people; you are the Element of Honesty.”
Kimberly was next, “Kimberly, light as a feather, able to turn the saddest frowns upside down; you are the Element of Laughter.” Kimberly smiled when he said that.
“Billy, you stand by your friends no matter what the circumstances; the Element of Loyalty.” Billy smiled too, happy to hear that.
Trini came next, “Trini, a pure of heart person, you try and find the light in all people and are never mean to others; the Element of Kindness.” Adam then whispered something in her ear, “That was my element.” She smiled like the others when she heard that.
Finally, there was Jason, “And you Jason, are the thread that holds this team together; the Element of Magic.”
Billy then stepped forward and said, “Thank you Adam, for helping us.”
“The pleasure was all mine; I’m just glad to know the Power Ranger title is in safe hands.” His smile went away when he said this next part, “But, I’m afraid you must do this journey on your own.”
Trini then asked, “You’re not coming with us Adam?”
“If only I could, it would be amazing to be a hero once again; but I have other responsibilities now.” And then he had to explain the hard part, “And I regret to inform you, that once you have used the powers to defeat Sombra and save Zordon, you won’t be able to keep them.”
“What?” Kimberly asked.
Adam explained, “This world needs the power to survive; they be gone a while, but after that, they must return.”
Jason stepped forward, “We understand; again, thank you for helping us.”
“Good luck rangers.” Adam then snapped his fingers and he disappeared, teleported back home.
On Earth, Sombra wasted no time putting his new mindless slaves to work; the abandoned chemical factory was now filled with the parents of Angel Grove. Even though none of them had worked in a place like this, they all got on with their jobs like they knew what they were doing.
Sitting in the middle of the room, on a throne made of old machine parts; Sombra was holding a chalice with his magic, it was filled with a black slime drink.
Standing next to the throne was Goldar, he was trying to keep his new master company. Doom was off somewhere else, he was supervising the workers; and secretly insulting them, even though they’d lost the willpower to talk back to him.
However, after sipping his drink, the King of Monsters merely stated, “The time it takes to fulfil an evil plan; I would have thought my titans would have been hatched by now.”
On each side of the large factory room, the two eggs were hooked up to machines via wires; the machines had built on lightning conductors, ones that would be used to supercharge the machines with lightning.
“Oh, Goldar I’m bored.” Sombra said. He then turned to his minion and suggested, “Let’s have some fun.” Sombra then turned to one of the workers and said, “Hey you; dance.”
The chosen worker suddenly began dancing like he was at a beach party; but Sombra didn’t like it. The king ordered, “Do the swim.” The worker then began dancing with swimming actions; this made Sombra start tapping his hoof along with the moves.
“Ballet.” Goldar then ordered. The worker stopped dancing, but then started a new one; he started swirling on his toes, and skipping around like a little girl.
While Sombra was laughing the worker, Goldar noticed something coming through the skylight; he tapped his master on the shoulder and said, “Hey boss, they’re back.” Sombra looked up and saw a flock of bird people flying in through the roof.
“Ah, my Gyrutas.” Sombra saw, putting his drink down and getting off his throne. He walked over to where they’d landed and ordered, “Stop your screeching. How did it go?”
The Gyruta that seemed to be in charge replied, “Oh, it couldn’t have gone better.”
A statement that made Sombra smile; another one of them said, “We threw one of them off a mountain, and another into a raging river.”
Sombra was pleased with his minions, and he rarely was; the king asked, “So, they’ve all been destroyed?”
This question made the Gyrutas feel a little bad, “Well, we were about to destroy them….” The leading bird started with.
“What, you didn’t kill them!” Sombra said back, annoyed. “You call yourself Gyruta Warriors; your more like Gyruta Turkeys. I should have you all stuffed and roasted.”
“But master; there was this knight, with a big sword. He kept chopping at us.” The leading bird replied.
Sombra had to think for a second, “Big sword? Did this knight, have wolf heads on his shoulders?” All the Gyrutas just nodded ‘yes’ to his question. Sombra then worked it out, “The Draconnequus Warrior. Could Discord still be doing it; he couldn’t be.” The king then realised something else, “If the rangers get the Elements of Harmony, everything will be ruined.”
The Gyruta leader asked, “Uh, do you want us to take another whack at it?”
“How about taking another quack at it.” Sombra replied, his eyes then lit up green and he blasted the Gyrutas with magic from his horn, causing them to burst into feather clouds.
King Sombra brushed the Gyruta feathers off his face and said, “No more time, my Tartarus Titans must be hatched by sundown.”
Meanwhile, the Power Rangers were still waiting by the edge of the Everfree Forest; they were hesitant to go in. This would be their greatest challenge ever; but the rangers knew what was at stake, they needed this power.
All the friends gathered around Jason, he said to them, “It’s time.”
The rangers began walking into the forest, they didn’t know what to expect, but they went on anyway.
While they walked, some of the friends began chatting; Zack was admiring the suits they’d been given. “I still don’t understand why I’m green now.” Billy walked up behind him.
“My calculations describe this change because of the nature and culture of this planet; maybe there was no black ranger on this world.” Billy explained.
Zack nodded his he and agreed, “Okay, but what about these new coins. I mean look at mine.” Zack showed the coin that was sewed onto his suit, the picture was three apples.
Tommy stepped forward and said, “I’ve got three diamonds.”
Billy then looked at his, “Mine just looks like a cloud with a rainbow lightning bolt coming from it.”
“I’ve got three balloons.” Kimberly stated.
“I’ve a big star on mine, surrounded by little stars.” Jason explained.
Zack then asked, “Trini, how about you?” But there was no answer; Trini had walked further ahead without realising.
The girl responded with, “Three butterflies.”
As the team kept walking, they then wandered into a strange place; it was an open area in the forest, the ground was covered in sticks. No knew the reason, but sticks were just scattered around, they almost made up the floor.
“What’s with all the sticks.” Jason asked.
Kimberly replied, “Well, we are in a forest, what do you expect to be on the floor?”
Zack thought it was an opportunity to make his friends laugh, “Welcome to Jellystone Park.
Billy walked over to the corner of the area, where he found a small pile of the sticks; he went to grab one when…..
Out of nowhere, one of the sticks flew across the area and nearly hit Billy in the head; he jumped out of the way and watched the flying stick crash into the pile. But what happened next was even stranger, the sticks on the ground began rolling together, like they were forming a body; when it was done, the sticks had shaped themselves into a giant wolf.
The monster howled and snarled at the rangers; instead of dribbling mucus, tree sap was leaking from its jaws.
“Whoa.” Zack stated.
The wolf then began walking towards Kimberly, she moved away from it, but it kept moving closer; Tommy grabbed a small log off the ground and charged at the beast. He whacked it with the log and watched his weapon snap in two; the wooden wolf then swung its head around knocked Tommy away.
Tommy crashed into Zack and Billy; the wolf then pounced towards Kimberly, but she managed to jump out of the way.
Jason went to help his sister, the beast went to pounce again; but before it could, Jason jumped into the air and landed on the monster’s back. He started riding the creature like it was a fair ground mechanical bull.
“Hang on, Jason.” Trini shouted. Jason was hanging onto the creature’s ear, but they looked more like horns; the beast shook its head rapidly, trying to shake the ranger off.
While hanging on for dear life, Jason noticed something at the back of the wolf’s neck; it was a loose stick, just hanging there. The ranger had an idea, he’d take anything at this point; he grabbed the stick and shouted, “Hey toothpick brain, I’ve got a bone to pick with you.”
With that said, Jason pulled the stick out of the monster; only to watch its head fall off, “Huh?” he questioned.
Suddenly, the body of the wolf shattered back into sticks; Jason tumbled to the ground.
The rest of the team went to help him; once their leader was back on his feet, he brushed all the back off his ninja suit.
Zack said, “That was insane.”
Tommy then stepped forward and explained, “We should get out of here, before he decides to pull himself together or something.” The rest of the team agreed, the pressed on through the forest.
Thunder raged outside, the dark project was almost complete, the mindless humans put the finishing touches on the machines; once the machines were finished and fully operational, everyone gather around to where they were told to go.
Goldar and Doom were standing above them on a high platform, they were passing the time by throwing insults at the humans.
“Hey ugly, nice hat.”
“Where’d get that shirt from, lost and found.”
“Your nose is too small for your face.”
Suddenly, Sombra walked up between them and began talking to his minions, “Parents of Angel Grove; you have worked well on my hatchery, I should reward you with your freedom.” Both Goldar and Doom laughed at their master’s statement. Sombra continued with, “However, I have no good soul within me; goodnight.”
The people dropped to the ground, falling into a deep sleep; Sombra turned to his minions and explained, “When they wake up, this world will be under my control.” He chuckled at his words.
The king ordered his two monsters to take their positions, Doom stood up on a platform next to a lever. “The time has come; Doom, open the roof.”
“Coming right up.” Doom replied. The horned monster opened the skylight, the lightning conductors raised themselves up through the roof; within seconds, a lightning strike hit the conductor and sent a bolt of energy to the machines.
Sombra’s eggs were hooked up to the machinery, the energy from the lightning was transferred to the eggs. “Give my creatures life!” Sombra shouted. However, the lightning wasn’t enough; the King of Monsters took matters into his own hooves.
Using his horn, Sombra blasted the two eggs with his dark magic; the eggs suddenly started cracking. Lightning hit the conductors one last time, the blast from that was the final push they needed; the eggs exploded open and released two horrible looking creatures. In no time at all the two monsters started growing into giants.
One of them was a dragon-like monster, while the other was just a lava creature.
“Incredible.” Goldar stated. However, Doom stumbled back in fear; never before had he seen two monsters like these before.
The lava monster swung his club at the machines and knocked them to the ground; the debris just missing the unconscious humans on the ground.
King Sombra stated, “My monsters will rise up and destroy the city!” he then laughed once again like a maniac, he had done it.
It seemed like the rangers had been walking forever, they had no idea if they were even going in the right direction. Until, something ahead caught Jason’s eye; he moved closer and confirmed what he had found.
“Guys, I think I found something.” The Red Ranger stated.
It was cave, but the entrance was blocked with a large rock; but the rock had markings on it. Forming a circle, the pictures looked like the pictures of their coins; Tommy stepped closer to get a better look. Below the picture, carved into the were four statues; they looked like bears, but more like monsters.
When they seemed like nothing, Tommy turned away from them. The team started talking about how they were going to get in; no one noticed the bear statues starting to move. One of them crept up behind Tommy; he had no idea of the imminent danger closing in.
But that’s when Kimberly noticed and shouted, “Tommy!”
The ranger turned around and saw the monster swing it’s two knifes at him; he summersaulted backwards and dodged the attack. The other bears had fully woken up; the one that attacked Tommy wielded two knifes, one had an axe, one had a mace and the last one had a sword.
“Now what do we do?” Trini asked.
Jason quickly replied, “We fight.”
All six of them struck battle poses; Zack even said, “I was hoping you’d say that.”
Billy then dropped his pose and asked, “How many times have we done this now?”
“Let’s do it guys.” Jason said. They then announced their titles as their ninja masks appeared on their faces.
“Magic!”
“Loyalty.”
“Honesty.”
“Laughter.”
“Generosity.”
“Kindness.”
But suddenly, the axe bear swung his weapon at Trini, she jumped out of the way and the other rangers started fighting the other bears.
Billy delivered a strong kick to the back of one of their heads, but the bear walked away like he felt nothing. “These things are made of rock.” Billy stated. The bear he kicked turned back to him and grabbed him and threw him away. “And their strong.” He said when he landed.
Zack led one of them up a hill, the bear with knifes followed him up; but the green ninja halted when the hill turned into a cliff when he reached the edge. The cliff was over looked a pond of boiling water; when he tried to turn back, the bear greeted him.
The ranger swung his leg around and kicked the bear in the chest, the beast stumbled back before pushing forward again.
“Hang on, Zack; I’m coming.” Jason stated, coming to help his friend.
Jason ran up behind the bear and kicked in the back, taking its attention off of Zack; but that was a mistake. Because while Jason distracted it, Zack picked up a stone he found on the floor; he said to the bear, “Yo Graphite Brain.” The bear turned back to him and Zack broke the stone over the monster’s face.
With the bear temporally blinded, Jason kicked in the back once more; it was a strong one, the bear tripped over and fell off the cliff, and plummeted into the pool of water.
“Thanks man, I thought I was finished.” Zack said to Jason.
The red ninja replied, “Well, that’s one down, and three to go.” He said as they watched the stone bear break apart in the water.
Trini was running from the axe bear, she found a little gap in the side of the mountain; she crawled inside to get away from the bear. But Trini got a scare when she saw what was inside, an old animal skull, “Whoa.” She stated.
She wasn’t out of danger yet, the axe bear began poking his axe into the gap; Trini moved back to get away from the blade, “Someone help!” She yelled.
Out of nowhere, Billy jumped in and kicked the bear several times; its focus turned from Trini and towards him. The blue ninja tried to pushed the beast away from his friend, “Back off, Boulder Breath!” he yelled.
Kimberly was being chased up another hill, she had the sword bear chasing her; the monster swung its sword at her, but she was able to dodge the attacks. “Back off!” she said before kicking it in the snout.
“Hey ya!” Tommy came swinging in on a vine, he managed to kick the bear back down the mountain. “These guys are tough, but they’re not too smart.” The two of them began pushing a rock that was mounted on the top of the hill.
Kimberly said, “Let’s rock his world.”
The two rangers pushed the rock over; the sword bear had recovered from the fall, but when he looked up, he saw the rock falling towards him. Before could run away, the rock crushed him into stone pieces; destroying him.
Meanwhile, Zack was being double teamed by the last two bears; they both swung their weapons at him. Zack stated, “What is this, ‘pick on the green-dude day’?” Billy had climbed up into a tree, he looked down and saw Zack being attacked.
“Hey Zack, you need a hand?” the blue ninja asked.
“It has crossed my mind.” Zack replied.
Billy then grabbed a long vine from the tree, he held one end and dropped the other to Zack; when Zack grabbed it, Billy jumped off the branch. The vine was wrapped around the tree branch; as Billy went to the ground, Zack was pulled into the air.
The green ninja said, “Elevator going up.” When Zack was pulled up, the axe bear swung his weapon; just missing the ranger and striking his bear brother instead, slicing him in half.
“Elevator going down.” Billy said as he landed between the two bear pieces. “Talk about a splitting headache.”
With only one bear left to deal with, the team all worked together and fought him off; they all kicked him around, before three of the rangers used their final attack.
Jason, Tommy and Kimberly were in the trees, they were holding onto vines; Jason gave them the signal, “Go.” The white and pink ninja swung on their vines and delivered strong kicks to the bear. Now it was Jason’s turn, “I saw this in a Tarzan movie once.” Jason grabbed a vine and swung down to the ground; he lifted his legs and delivered one final kick to the bear.
The monster was sent flying, until he crashed into the stone blocked the cave entrance; once he hit the rock, he shattered into stone fragments.
Once all the bears were destroyed, the cave started rumbling; the rangers all came together to watch what was happening, the saw the rock was moving, the cave was opening.
Once the cave was open, the rangers couldn’t believe their eyes; inside the cave, was a tree. But not just any ordinary tree, it was made out of pure crystals and diamonds. And at the end of each branch, was an even purer crystal; the gems looked like the pictures the rangers had on their new coins.
Jason stepped forward and said, “Is that…?”
“The Great Power.” Trini finished.
“The Elements of Harmony.” Billy the said.
The tree suddenly began to glow, it shined like a star; the elements on the branches began to glow as well. Without warning, the elements broke off the tree and broken into pieces; the shattered fragments began flying through the air, they each flew towards their chosen ranger.
Each ranger watched the element fly around them, the crystal began to take shape as they continued to soar. The crystals began to take the shape of animals; Zack stated, “New Zords.”
When it was time, the crystal animals flew into the coin that was on their ninja suits; once that happened, there was a flash of light and….
Each ranger was encased in a brand new ranger suit, never before seen by this universe.
Kimberly shouted, “We did it!”
Billy then said, “Are morphers are online.”
“We got the power.” Tommy stated.
All the rangers stood in a line, Jason then said, “Hang on Zordon, we’re on our way.” As if by magic, the Power Rangers teleported away, they flew to Earth in their balls of light.
Little did they know, from the Castle of Chaos, Adam could see them fly away; in a proud voice, he stated, “Well done, Power Rangers.”
Meanwhile, back on Earth; the Tartarus Titans were already laying waste to the city; the Dragon Titan almost stepped one someone’s cars. When the driving saw the size of that monster, he abandoned his vehicle and made a run for it.
The Lava Titan was scaring a crowd of people away, they watched as it picked up an oil truck; it threw the truck into the air, the pressure caused it to explode. The people just ran for their lives; the titan hit the ground with his club, causing the street to crack.
Sombra and Goldar wanted to watch this, they stood at the top of a tall tower to observe the destruction. The monster king stated, “Citizens of Angel Grove, how do you like my friends?”
Using a sword like weapon, made of bones, the Dragon Titan stabbed into the ground; the electrical system exploded and all the power lines came crashing down. Once it saw the people running, the Dragon Titan opened its mouth and released a fire ball onto the street.
“The boys are back in town!” Sombra shouted.
“Long live, the King of Monsters.” Goldar cheered.
The two of them laughed as they continued to watch the mayhem.
At the Command Centre, Alpha was watching the live broadcast from the streets, he could see the destruction the Titans were causing. The reporter explained, “The Mayor has declared a state of emergency, he’s asked that the city be evacuated now.”
“Ei, ei, ei, ei; the Tartarus Titans are destroying Angel Grove.” Alpha said.
Zordon managed to say, “Alpha, keep trying.”
The last thing those heard from the reporter on the globe was, “….where are the Power Rangers?”
The Power Rangers were teleporting across the galaxy, they had finally made it back to Earth.
Evening had come to Angel Grove, Sombra and Goldar were still at the top of the tower, watching the titans’ rampage. “I love the smell of destruction in the evening.” The king stated. “It makes me feel alive.”
Goldar chuckled at his comment; however, the feeling went away when Sombra caught a whiff of something in his nose. He sniffed a few times before saying, “What’s that horrible smell?” King Sombra looked up into the sky, and there he saw them; he muttered, “I don’t believe it, the Power Rangers.”
The rangers landed in the streets of their home town, the glowing light went away, and they could see the destruction that had been caused. “I don’t believe this, look at this mess.” Tommy stated.
“This is Sombra’s handy work.” Zack then replied.
Jason stepped forward and said, “Let’s get back to the Command Centre.” The team was about to teleport away again, until a noise from ahead caught their attention. It sounded like a left thump, a giant footstep.
Billy asked, “What was that?”
And then Trini replied, “I think we’re about to find out, look.”
The Yellow Ranger pointed ahead and the rest of the team saw it; the Lava Titan, as big as an office building. It held its club, the dragging the wrecking ball chained to the handle of his club.
“Oh boy.” Kimberly said.
“I guess Sombra’s been busy while we were away.” Tommy stated.
They watched as the Titan generated fire ball in his hand; it threw the fire at the street and caused an explosion. The rangers stepped back in shock, only for them to be surprised by another sound; they heard another giant footstep.
Jason asked, “Now what’s that?” the team turned around and saw the Dragon Titan.
“There’s another one.” Trini said.
Kimberly commented, “And that one’s even uglier.”
As the Dragon Titan breathed fire on the streets, the rangers all said ‘whoa’ in unison.
“We gotta stop these things.” Zack stated.
The rest of the team agreed, Jason said, “Well, we’ve got new magic Zords, let’s use them.”
“Alright.” Billy and Trini said together.
At first, the Power Rangers didn’t know how this worked, but the words then came to them; as if by magic. The rangers all chanted the words they needed to summon their Zords.
Zack chanted, “Mastodon to Lion, Thunder Zord Power!” his old Zord appeared and transformed into a new one, a Green Lion.
Kimberly chanted, “Pterodactyl to Fire Bird, Thunder Zord Power!” her Zord became the Pink Fire Bird.
Billy chanted, “Triceratops to Unicorn, Thunder Zord Power!” the triceratops became the Blue Unicorn.
Trini chanted, “Saber-Tooth Tiger to Griffon, Thunder Zord Power!” her Zord became the Yellow Griffon.
And finally, Jason chanted, “Tyrannosaurus to Red Dragon, Thunder Zord Power!” his old Zord became the Red Dragon.
Tommy watched from the ground as his team jumped up into the air and got into their new Zords; he asked himself, “How do I join the party?”
“Activate the Tiger Zord.”
The White Ranger looked around for a sec, “Who said that?”
“Down here.”
Tommy looked at the sword he had on his belt, on the end of the handle was a little tiger head. He grabbed the sword and began speaking to it, “Who are you?”
The sword replied, “My name is Saba, you can just think of me as your little helper; I can help you in fights and call your White Tiger Zord.”
“Alright, let’s give it a go.” Tommy stated, holding Sab in the air, the ranger chanted, “Tiger Zord, Power Up.”
Jumping in out of nowhere, the White Tiger landed on the roof of a large building; it growled at the Lava Titan. Tommy decided to join his new friend, he jumped into the air and landed on the head of the Tiger Zord; with Saba still in his hand, he chanted, “White Tiger Zord, Battle Ready Now.”
With the other Zords behind the Tiger, they all started charging at the titans; the two monsters started shooting fire balls at the rangers.
“It’s a little hot out here; I’m going inside.” Tommy joked and he entered his Zord.
Billy called Tommy on the comms, “Tommy, if we split off into groups of three, we have a chance at tackling both these monsters.”
Tommy replied, “Good thinking, Billy.”
The Power Rangers then attacked the titans; Billy, Zack and Tommy fought the Lava Titan. While Jason, Trini and Kimberly tackled the Dragon Titan; all while Sombra and Goldar were watching the fight from the top of the tower.
Goldar put his hand on Sombra shoulder and asked, “So who you betting to win?”
“Touch me again, I’ll throw you into a black hole.” Sombra threatened. Goldar lifted his hand and stepped back.
Tommy drove the White Tiger towards his titan, he was charging up an attack as he moved; he said to his partner, “Saba, you ready.”
“Yes indeed, White Ranger.”
The Tiger Zord opened its jaw and charged up the blast; Tommy shouted, “Fire Ball away!” a glowing ball of energy was blasted from the tiger’s mouth, the blast struck the Lava Titan, causing it to stumble back. However, the monster wasn’t done yet; it swung it club and bashed the Tiger Zord away.
“I’ve been hit, I need to make repairs.” Tommy said into the comms; the Tiger Zord had to be repaired, Saba began while the other rangers tried their luck with the titan.
Billy used the Unicorn’s horn to generate an energy rope; the rope tied itself around the monster and held it still. The beast tried to break free, it summoned a fire ball in its hand and threw it at Billy.
“Bad move, hot head; play with fire and you’re gonna get burned.” Billy stated.
The Lion Zord moved up behind the tied up monster, Zack explained to Billy, “Keep him still, man; I’m loading the hydraulics.”
The Blue Ranger said back, “Hurry, I’m losing him.” The monster was trying to break free.
Zack grabbed the controls and said, “Here goes.” He pushed the hand controls forward and the lion jumped onto the Lava Titan’s back. The monster struggled with all his might trying to break free from the rangers’ grip.
“Hang in there, Zack.” Billy said.
“I’m hanging, I’m hanging.”
While this was happening, Trini stopped her Zord in front of the Dragon Titan; she joked, “Time to get ‘giggly’ with the Griffon.” But the monster wasn’t threatened by her; it raised its sword and slashed at the Yellow Ranger, sending her and her Zord crashing into a building. “Whoa! I’ve been hit hard.”
Flying in from the sky, Jason piloted the Red Dragon onto the scene; he told his friend, “Hang on Trini, I’m going to try something.” The dragon’s long body wrapped around the titan, locking it in place. “You want to stop a dragon, use another dragon.” Jason joked.
Meanwhile, flying somewhere else in the sky, Kimberly noticed two creeps standing on top of Angel Grove Tower. She told her friends, via comms, “Heads up guys, I’ve a lock on horn head.”
King Sombra noticed the Pink Fire Bird flying towards them; he stated, “Ah, here comes that cute little Pink Ranger to the rescue.”
“So, you think she’s cute too, huh?” Goldar asked; but Sombra just turned to him and growled.
The Pink Ranger readied her weapons and was about to blast the two monsters; she said, “One order of toasted horse, coming up.”
Sombra saw her getting closer and said, “So, you wanna play, huh?” his eye then glowed green and he released a blast of dark magic from his horn; encasing the Zord in a green bubble of energy.
“Sombra’s got me locked in some kind of magnetic force field; I can’t break free!” Kimberly shouted.
Over the comms she heard Tommy say, “Hang on, Kimberly.”
Zack was still being shaken about by the Lava Titan, “I’m getting air sick up here!” he cried.
All the monster’s shaking was weakening Billy’s energy rope, “I’m losing control, I can’t hold on much longer.”
The monster king was laughing like crazy and he kept blasted the fire bird; the Pink Ranger shouted, “I’m burning up in here!” all her controls were sparking and short circuiting.
“Kimberly, use your thrusters.” Trini said.
“Right.” She calmed down for a sec and said, “Now which button.” Kimberly found the thruster button and shot across the sky like a bullet. “Whoa!” she screamed.
Sombra’s eye returned to normal as he said, “Uh, I deal with you later.”
Goldar commented, “Yeah, later.”
Racing onto the scene of the battle, the White Tiger Zord was back online and ready to fight; “Tiger Zord, ready for action.” Tommy cheered as he entered the situation. He then said into the comm, “Let go Billy, I’ve got something new I wanna try.”
Billy replied, “You’re the boss, Tommy.” The Blue Ranger hit a button and the energy rope disappeared.
Zack hit a button on his controls, the Lion Zord let go of the monster and was thrown across the street.
The White Ranger lifted Saba above his head, “Tiger Zord, convert to Warrior Mode, now!” Tommy cheered. He plugged his sword into the console and the transformation began.
The Tiger Megazord stood tall and mighty; the Lava Titan readied its club before it attack. The two giants engaged in a fight; the Tiger Zord’s tail had become its sword, it used it to fight the monster. Their weapons clashed together multiple times, before Tommy managed to land a hit and strike the titan.
While fighting, Tommy had another idea; he said to his partner, “Saba, I want the Tiger Zord to follow my every move.” The White Ranger’s wish was granted, his Zord started mimicking his movements.
Tommy punched forward and the Megazord punched at the titan, knocking him back; Tommy then kicked forward, and the Zord copied him again, kicking the monster away.
“Impressive idea, White Ranger.” Saba commented.
“Thanks, now let’s douse these flames.” Tommy replied. He grabbed a crystal ball from the shelf behind him; the ranger inserted it into the console and chanted, “White Tiger Zord; Fire Ball Finish!”
The Tiger head on the torso of the Megazord opened its jaw, an energy blast began charging up inside; once it was ready, the blast shot from the tiger’s mouth and hurled itself towards the Lava Titan.
Once the blast struck the monster, he roared in pain before exploding out of existence.
The other rangers were watching that fight, Zack stated, “He’s out of there!”
“Target destroyed, let’s go get the other one.” Billy said.
Jason’s Zord was still wrapped around the Dragon Titan; however, the monster had finally over powered the Zord. Jason was pride from the monster and thrown away; he landed in front of the other Zords as they arrived on the scene, the White Ranger’s Zord had reverted back to tiger mode.
The Power Rangers all moved towards the last monster; the beast was actually afraid, considering one they did to the other one.
King Sombra was watching the whole thing, and he didn’t like what he saw; Goldar stepped back as Sombra stated, “They’ve destroyed one of my monsters.” His eye glowed green and his voice deepened, “Now I’m beginning to get really…. ANGRY!”
Sombra’s body morphing to a black shadowy cloud, his head seen at the base of the cloud; he flew down to the fight and passed right through the titan’s armour, into his back.
“Uh, I’m gonna be sick.” Kimberly commented.
The monster king’s voice could be heard from the titan, “I feel big again!”
Suddenly, the Dragon Titan’s body began to crack; it then exploded open like an egg shell, revealing the horror inside.
King Sombra had converted back into his monster form, the form he created when he over power himself with chaos magic; the dark warrior form he had when he was first destroyed. He summoned his weapons, a lance that looked like a unicorn horn and a shield.
Trini commented, “Whoa, somebody call a plastic surgeon.”
“If you want something done right, you’ve got to do it yourself!” Sombra stated. He raised his weapon and charged up a powerful attack, “No more holding back, Power Rangers; behold the power of the underworld.” His lance glowed purple with dark energy. “Dark Magic Strike!!”
Sombra slashed at the Zords, sending them all flying way; the strike was so powerful, the rangers fell out of their cogpits.
When the rangers landed in the street, the got back on their feet; Trini said, “Now what do we do?”
Jason turned to the Zords, they were okay and they could keep fighting; the Red Ranger turned back to his team and explained, “If he can get bigger, so can we.” The Power Rangers all stood together and summoned their power.
Together they chanted, “We need Thunder Megazord Power Now!”
Once the two Megazords stood side by side, the monster king stated, “Now we can go.” Both Zords drew their weapons and the fight began.
Meanwhile, down on the streets, two kids were walking home from a food stand; while holding their food, Bulk and Skull were talking about life. It took Skull hearing the destruction up ahead for them to realise what was going on.
Skull saw the two Megazords battling King Sombra; he tapped Bulk on the shoulder and said, “Hey Bulky.”
The other noob looked up from his snack and saw what was ahead of them; his expression changed from chilled to terrified. Bulk began to step back, followed by his friend; he said, “You know, I think that taco stand on third street is still open.”
“Good call, man.” Skull replied. The two of them ran away in fear; not wanting any part of this.
Back at the fight; the two Megazords were standing their ground. Tommy drove the Tiger Zord forward and slashed his sword at the monster king; however, Sombra blocked it with his lance and kicked the White Ranger away.
The other rangers pushed forward, drawing their sword and attempting to strike Sombra; the monster king saw this attack coming and moved out of the way, he then swiped his lance at the Megazord, knocking it to the ground.
Seeing that this fight wasn’t going to end soon, Sombra needed a way to get one of his enemies away for the moment; he turned away from the Power Rangers and looked towards a building with lights coming from inside, indicating there were people in there.
“Time to see how much you rangers care about your fellow man.” Sombra stated. He raised his lance and charged up his power, “Dark Magic Strike!” the building was hit by the dark power, the base of the structure started crumbling.
Zack stated, “Guys, that building’s going to fall.”
“There are people in there.” Kimberly replied.
Tommy charged the Tiger Zord forward, he caught the building before it could tip over; Tommy said, “I’ve got this guys, hold of Sombra.”
With that said, the Megazord and King Sombra continued fighting; both their weapons clashed together. The Power Rangers swung the sword, but Sombra was able to block all of their attacks; right up until he knocked the sword of their hands. The Megazord’s weapon was knocked away, leaving the rangers open for attack; the monster king used all of his power to defeat the hero team.
King Sombra raised his lance one last time before striking the Megazord with his most power strike; the Zord fell to the ground, still holding itself together, but it had taken a lot of damage.
“Guys, my Red Dragon’s not responding.” Jason explained. His Zord had taken too much damage, the Megazord couldn’t get back up.
King Sombra laughed while walking over to his opponent; he grabbed the Megazord and lifted it above his head. In a silly tone, he muttered, “Next stop, Angel Grove First National.”
“Brace yourselves!!” Zack shouted.
Sombra threw the Megazord away, it crashed through a building and landed in the streets below.
On the other side of the fight, Tommy was still holding the building in place; he pushed the construct back onto its foundation. “Saba, you got anything that can help me?”
“Indeed, I do.” The sword replied.
The Tiger Zord suddenly shot lasers from its eyes, the lasers welded the building back onto the ground; once the building was safe, the White Ranger turned his attention back to his friends. He saw them on the ground, completely defenceless.
Billy said to his friends, “Micro pressure’s in the red; all systems are failing.”
Jason stated, “He’s too strong for a head on fight.”
Kimberly then shouted into the comms, “Tommy, get over here!”
The White Ranger had to think for a second, “Saba, we need something new; you got anything?”
“I might have just the thing; the Red Dragon Zord is too damaged to continue fighting, but there is an alternative.” Saba explained. “The other rangers can combine their Zords with yours, in order to form the Thunder Tiger Zord.”
Tommy replied, “Then let’s do it.” He spoke into the comms and asked, “You guys get that?”
Trini replied, “All systems go, Tommy.”
Sombra watched as the Thunder Megazord disassembled itself; the Red Dragon flew away to safety, without its pilot. The four remaining Zords all converged on the White Tiger; with the press of a button, the Zords began to combine.
The Yellow Griffon and Blue Unicorn once again, formed the legs; they connected to the White Tiger and stood him up. The Green Lion, instead of becoming the arms again, it disassembled and became shoulder armour and the back piece. The Pink Fire Bird wrapped its wings around the White Tiger’s arm, forging the Megazord weapon; while the Tiger Zord’s head folded forward and form a king-crown head.
“Thunder Tiger Zord, Power Up!” the rangers cheered.
Jason said to his friends, “Guys, we need to get Sombra out of here before he destroys everything.”
After that was said, Zack noticed something that this Zord came with; he said, “Guys, this thing’s got rocket thrusters.”
“I’ll set a course for outer-space.” Billy said, punching in the coordinates.
Below the Megazord’s feet, flames began exploding; the Zord took off into the sky, flying towards the stars. Sombra noticed his enemies getting away, he laughed before saying, “You can run, but you can’t hide.” Pegasus wings magically emerged from his back; he jumped up and flew off after them.
The Power Rangers flew past the moon, right past Rita and Zedd’s castle; while flying around space, they needed to come up with a plan.
Tommy got his team’s attention and explained, “Alright guys, Jason’s right; Sombra’s too powerful for us to fight him head on.”
“We’ve got to find a way to get rid of this guy, permanently.” Zack stated.
It took some thinking, but Billy came up with the answer, “I’ve got it, Rhyans Comet.”
Jason stated, “Billy, that’s brilliant.”
“What do you mean?” Kimberly asked, not understanding.
So Billy explained, “We Sombra into the Comet’s path and…”
“Pow! He’s space dust.” Trini said.
The Megazord halted where it was, the rangers saw Sombra flying right towards them; he cried, “I’m going to rip you apart, Zord by Zord.”
He was getting closer, right up until Tommy shouted, “Brace yourselves!” Sombra slammed into the Megazord; he trapped the rangers in a mighty bear hug, he began crushing the Zord.
“Guys, we’re imploding!” Jason yelled.
As a joke to his enemies, Sombra stated, “Have you hugged your Zords today?” the rangers could see his eyes right outside the Megazord cogpit window.
Zack then noticed the comet flying closer, it was yards away. “Here it comes.” He said to his friends.
“We have to break his grip.” Tommy said.
That’s when Trini came up with one final idea, she looked at her control panel and saw there was one button she hadn’t pressed yet, because it was locked behind red glass with a warning written on it, ‘Emergency Use Only’. She said to herself, “Desperate times call for desperate measures.” She smashed the red glass.
Kimberly turned to her and asked, “What are you doing?”
“Taking care of business.” The Yellow Ranger replied; she pressed the button.
The Megazord raised its knee and bashed Sombra in the….
The hit caused the monster king to let go and to float away; Tommy said to his team, “Let’s get out of here.” The Power Rangers piloted the Megazord away.
As for Sombra, he got what he deserved; he drifted towards the comet. When Sombra saw it coming towards him, he muttered and complained, “Uh, not again!” Both Sombra and Rhyans Comet collided, causing a massive explosion, destroying them both.
The blast created a flash of light, which could be seen all the way from Earth.
At the chemicals factory, the flash of light must have done something right; because all of the hypnotised parents began to wake up from their deep sleep. All of them were just as confused as each other; they had no memory of how they got here or what they were doing.
“I need to get home.” A mother stated.
“Me too, my daughter will be looking for me.” Said a father.
The parents of Angel Grove left the factory and chose not to speak of what happened; they wouldn’t know what to talk about anyway.
Meanwhile, the Power Rangers teleported back to the Command Centre; when they arrived, they removed their helmets. Alpha approached them, proud of what he’d seen them do; and yet his expression was that of a sad one.
“Rangers, you made it; but…. I’m afraid you’re too late.” Alpha explained. The team followed him over to Zordon, he was lying there, he was gone.
Kimberly began crying, Jason put his arm around his sister to try and comfort her; she stated, “We came all this way, and now it was all for nothing.”
Each ranger was mourning in their own way, except for Tommy; he wasn’t going to let it end like this.
“Guys, we can’t give up.” Tommy said, all the other Rangers looked at him, “Do you remember what we learned; as long as we’re together, the magic is with us, and we can do anything.” The other rangers agreed; they all formed a circle around Zordon and joined hands.
The Power Rangers concentrated, using the power to revive Zordon; for the moment nothing happened. That was until the rangers began chanted an ancient spell, one that had not been performed, even on Equestria for almost a thousand years; somehow, the elements gave them the spell.
“I’m one with my element, I am one with myself, I am one with my friends.” The rangers all said in unison.
Suddenly, from their hearts, a light began to glow on each of them; the light then lifted off them and each on took the shape of their new Zords. The sacred animals suddenly began flying around the Command Centre.
As if by magic, the damaged machines and computers were reassembling themselves; Alpha could not believe his metal eyes. Once the room was put back together, the Zords flew towards Zordon; they came together in a ball of light, the power then flew down into Zordon’s chest.
Once this happened, the celestial being’s eyes open; he started to breathe again. The Power Rangers were amazed at what they had done; Zordon then materialized away, only for his tube to return and for his face to appear inside it.
“Zordon.” Kimberly and Billy said happily in unison.
“Rangers.” The ranger mentor replied.
Alpha began dancing around, “He’s alive, he’s alive.”
Kimberly stepped forward and said, “We thought that you’d…”
Before she could finish, Zordon simply said, “It is good to see you again to.”
Without warning, a bright light appeared behind the rangers; they all turned around to see Adam had appeared before them. Wearing his red and black armour, minus the helmet, he walked towards them with something to say.
“My friends, I so pleased to see you all alive and safe.” Adam explained. “And you defeated Sombra, you saved Earth, maybe even Equestria as well.”
However, the expression on the rangers’ faces were not good ones; because they knew what Adam being here meant.
Jason stepped forward and said, “You’re here for the powers, aren’t you.”
Adam sighed and replied, “I’m afraid so, Jason; Equestria can’t survive without them.” The Draconnequus Warrior shield appeared in Adam’s hand, he raised it above his head.
Before the powers were taken, the rangers said some things in gratitude.
“Thanks for your help, dude.” Zack said.
“It was an honour you use your power.” Trini stated.
“Your help was expertly helpful in our battle against evil.” Billy explained.
Jason then said, “Thank you Adam, for everything.”
“The honour was all mine, rangers.” Adam replied.
Adam then chanted the spell, the eye in his shield opened, multi-coloured light appeared from the rangers; they could feel the power leaving their bodies. Once the power was taken back, the eye closed and Adam lowered his shield.
But, before Adam left, he had one final thing to say, “You know rangers, I don’t think you’ll need this power.”
“What do you mean?” Tommy asked.
“Look in your pockets.” Adam replied.
The rangers reached into their pockets and felt something inside, the each took out the item and revealed the Power Coins; the coins then glowed the colour of their ranger.
Jason asked, “Does this mean…?”
Adam explained, “I wasn’t going to leave you completely defenceless.”
All the rangers looked at each other, they’ve waited a while to do this again; because with their Power Coins back, they could finally say this….
The Power Ranger appeared in their original suits, the old power had been restored; the rangers began cheering and saying…
“We’re back, and ready to morph into action.” Jason said.
“Six, working together to fight evil.” Tommy said, now back in green.
“And stop Rita and Zedd.” Zack said, back in black.
“And all their menacing monsters.” Billy said.
“From destroying our planet, Earth.” Trini said.
“And ruining the universe with evil.” Kimberly said.
Jason then shouted, “Look out universe, we’re not backing down; because we’re the…”
“POWER RANGERS!!!” all the rangers cried in unison.
With that said, Adam teleported away, back to his new home planet; all the rangers and Alpha waved goodbye as their new friend returned home.
Zordon even said to him as he left, “Goodbye my friend, and my the power protect you.”
On the moon, within Rita and Zedd’s castle; the two monsters were enjoying have the place to themselves. Goldar sat on Zedd’s throne, and Doom was pretending to bow to him; and placed behind the throne, were the Zedd and Rita statues.
Goldar stated, “I am Goldar, King of the Moon; bow before my mighty powers.” The monsters just laughed at the statement.
Suddenly, the statues began to shake and without warning, the rock fell to the ground dust; the prisoners inside the stone were free. As Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd charged up their sceptres, the two monsters only had two words.
