A group of friends discover something that they never knew before about themselves
Me and my friends were always fans of My Little Pony even after it ended years ago. I never thought that one day, I would discover that the show was real in a strange way.
(One of the many sidefics for Five Score Divided By Four by TwistedSpectrum. It's not required to read the main story to enjoy this one, but there will be references to the events of the story.)
(This story takes into account the 2019 update of the original Five Score story, as this wouldn't exist without it.)
Let me tell you about a strange story that happened a few years ago. It's a story about people turning into characters from old tv shows, discovering the truth, and a whole bunch of other strange events. You might be confused as to what I've been talking about, so let’s go back to before any of that stuff happened.
My name is Samantha or Sam for short… Or well it used to be but I’ll explain that when we get there. I used to be into My Little Pony. I never was much of a super fan, but I did enjoy the episodes whenever I managed to catch an episode or two on tv. The same thing can be said about my brother Ben. We've been together almost since we were born, and even though he’s younger than me by about a minute or two, he’s much more mature than me.
Now, if you want to know a super fan then you really should know Matt. Before all of this, he was a really big fan of MLP ever since the first season came out over a decade ago. He had almost any type of merch you could think of. If you could name it, he probably had it.
Now the last one in our friend group is Jenna. Just because she’s last, it doesn't make her least. In fact, she is actually the smartest one out of the group. She does also help out if me or Matt ever do anything idiotic, mostly me.
The four of us have been friends since elementary school and we’ve never been broken apart since. The most interesting thing about our group is that we all share the same birthday on May 1st. We all thought that it was just some dumb coincident that was pretty cool and it made remembering our birthdays a lot easier.
Something important that I think I should talk about before we start this story is the MLP finale as this comes into play later. When the finale came out, the whole fanbase was set on fire but there was a good reason behind that. The whole finale was strange with the main thing being that Discord betrayed and defeated the main characters. Everyone in the fandom thought that it was an odd and horrible way to end the show, including Matt and I have to agree it was strange to end the show that way.
Anyways enough with introductions, let’s go back to the day this whole story started. The day of our 25th birthdays.
I wake up to the sound of my alarm clock and I quickly turn it off. God, I can’t believe that it’s already May 1st and that means that it’s finally my 25th birthday. I guess I need to get us and get everything ready for when Matt arrives later today. Usually, I would get ready with Ben, but he and Jenna are out of town for a while, so it’s just me to get ready for this time.
I get out of bed and make myself look good before heading downstairs to get everything ready. I shouldn't have too much to do since it’s just going to be just me and Matt.
It almost feels like forever has gone by as I clean most of the house up, but shortly after I finish up, I hear the doorbell ring.
“Hey Sam, Happy Birthday.” Matt says as he walks through the door and sets some things on the table. One thing seemed to be a bottle of some kind of drink, while the other looked like a bag. “I hope you're ready for one great celebration.”
“I hope so too, even though both Ben and Jenna are out so it’s just going to be the two of us.”
“Well, that’s ok. Hey, do you want to watch an episode of MLP?” He asks me
“Yeah, sure. What episode do you have in-” I say before he cuts me off
“Could we watch the finale?” It's strange that he would want to watch the finale. When that episode first aired, he despised it and I mean it. He went on a rant on how bad it was back when it came out and how it made no sense and stuff. He’s calmed down since then, but it’s still odd. The two of us sit down on the couch and I turn the episode on.
The two of us haven’t seen the episode since our first viewing, but it's just how I remembered it. The episode begins when Princess Celestia gets alerted to a giant hellspawn that came from Tartarus, so she and Discord go out to try and stop it. I do have to admit the battle is pretty cool and it was pretty well animated for My Little Pony.. Then suddenly during the battle, Celestia gets injured pretty badly and falls onto the edge of a volcano. Discord comes over to her and she tells him that she can't move. It looks like he's gonna save her but instead, he laughs and explains how he fooled everypony into thinking that he was reformed and that he waited a thousand years to that day to come as he kicked her into the volcano.
I don't know how this managed to air on a kid's network. This must have traumatized some kids and maybe some adults too especially since Celestia has a blood curdling scream as she falls into the volcano. I’m shocked at how the FCC didn’t come after their asses when this aired, but I guess it’s a mystery.
After that Discord went after Twilight and after a long battle between the two, Discord defeats Twilight with an attack that causes the screen to go white. The next scene is of course the scene where the Young Six fight Discord with the help of Starlight and Garb- Wait, the credits? I don't remember the episode ending this soon!
"Hey, is it just me or did they cut a scene here?" I ask worried that something was wrong with the episode
"Hey, you're right! They cut that scene where the Student Six alongside Starlight and Garble fight DIscord!" Matt says
Thank god, someone remembers that scene and it just wasn't a figment of my imagination. I thought for a second there that he wouldn’t remember it and that I was just crazy
“It’s strange. I thought that scene was in this episode. Maybe it was cut, because it was too dark. But, then again the whole episode would be totally different considering their contents.” I said confused
“Me too, I could have sworn that we saw that scene when that episode first came out. Maybe it was just some fan animation that the two of us just so happen to see.”
That is a possibility, but I remember the scene so clearly being in the episode, but who knows?
“You know what? Let’s just forget about this whole debate for now, and let’s just celebrate our birthdays. We have plenty of time to argue about the events of a cartoon later.” I tell him
“I guess so. Oh! I almost forgot to give you this. Happy Birthday, dude!” He says before he grabs a bag he had and gives it to me.
When I opened the bag, there was a dragon plush inside but it wasn't any ordinary plush, instead it was a plush of Smolder. She was always one of my favorite characters from the show despite the fact that she never really got the chance to do much in the two seasons she was in. It looked pretty accurate for a plush.
"Wow, where did you get this? This looks too good to be official." I ask him
"I commissioned it from someone online. They never really made any plushies of her during the show's run, so I had to get the plush from somewhere." He told me
"I didn't think you would get me this so thanks! I should give you this too while we’re exchanging gifts.” I gave him something I got him.
He opens the gift to see a big old set of some of the figures. “Woah! I thought that this set was really pricey!”
“It took me almost a week to find it online and it cost me about a hundred bucks, but it was totally worth it just to see you happy.” I said with a smile
When I looked back at Matt, he didn’t seem to say anything. In fact, he wasn’t moving as his eyes stayed still not blinking, as if he was staring off into space. He seemed to stay like that until I snapped my fingers in front of his eyes. “Hello? Earth to Matt?”
He blinked twice as he shook his head, almost as if he was unaware of what he was just doing before setting his eyes on me. “Smolder?” He said with a confused look on his face
Smolder? Was he thinking about that scene again? It was really odd.
“Hey, are you good? I haven't seen you do something like that before.”
“Yeah, I’m fine. I was just thinking about something, I guess I got a little lost in my own thoughts for a second there. He said, he seemed to be just as confused as I was “Anyways, I love it! Thanks dude!” He went to hug me and I did just the same.
The whole staring off thing still kinda bugged me, especially since he called me Smolder, but some time passed by and I almost completely forgot about it. Several hours and some alcohol later and it was way past dark, so Matt left, leaving me to clean up our mess. It’s a shame Noah wasn’t here like always to help, but I didn’t really care.
Soon enough it was about midnight, so I quickly got everything ready for bed. While I placed my new Smolder plush on a nearby shelf. My eyes transfixed on it as I slowly dosed off to sleep…
Equestria...?
I soar through the sky over all of the buildings in Ponyville, soon landing near the entrance of the School Of Friendship.
"Can anyone explain what the heck is going on? I heard earlier that the school was closed due to some kind of emergency, so I want to know why." I ask confused. Earlier that day, news broke out about the school being closed for some unexplained reason and every student being sent home to their families. Luckily the others are here too, so hopefully I can get some answers from them.
“I did some research shortly after we got sent home. Apparently, the teachers including Headmare Twilight went missing. Also, some ponies think that Discord is the one behind all of this.” Sandbar explains to me
"Wait, isn’t Discord that weird hybrid monster that Fluttershy befriended? I knew he was really weird and could do some crazy stuff, but I don't know if he was the one behind this." Gallus said
"Well, right now it’s just a rumor so I don’t know for sure that he’s the one behind this. Somepony or something might be putting the blame on him." Sandbar tells Gallus. I notice something flying near us while Sandbar is talking to Gallus. At first I panic slightly as I couldn’t tell who it was, but then it soon turns out to be my brother Garble.
"Smolder! What are you doing here? I thought that the school was closed." He asked me once he landed.
"Gar Gar! You honestly should be back at the dragon lands. It’s a bit too dangerous to be here right now. Most of the teachers have gone missing and we want to know where they went! We suspect that Discord is behind all of this." I explain to him
"Wait, are you talking about that Discord? That weird thing that Fluttershy is friends with?"
“Yep, that Discord."
“Well for as long as he's out there, I'm not going anywhere.”
"Ooh! I just want that weirdo to fix everything!" Silverstream cried out
"Oh, so I'm a weirdo then?" Someone said
Everyone looks up and discovers Discord floating above us with a malicious look upon his face.
"Discord! What did you do with Twilight and the others?" Sandbar asked him
"Oh, so you want to know what happened to them? I would tell you, but I think it would be much better to show you!" Discord says before going to attack Sandbar. Before Discord could do anything to him, he got stunned by a powerful magic attack that came from Starlight who ran up to us.
"What are all of you doing here! You should go back to your homes and let me deal with him while he's stunned!" Starlight says
"Me and my friends aren't going anywhere! We want to help!." I tell her confidently
"Fine, but all of you must stay back unless I say so" Starlight says as she began to charge up another spell
"I forgot how strong some of your powers are, but you don’t stand a chance against my strength!" Discord says as he starts to attack. Before I could do anything, everything quickly went black as I heard a distant beeping noise…
I wake up the next morning feeling like shit. God, me and Matt really shouldn't have gone overboard on the alcohol last night. This wouldn't have happened if Ben were here. Speaking of Ben, he should be coming back with Jenna today. Wait, I almost forgot about that weird dream I had. I guess that’s what happens when you think a little too much of something before you go to bed, but something about it felt… Familiar, almost like deja vu, but my dreams can sometimes feel like that.
I look at the clock, it looks like it’s 10, I really should take a shower and see if I can fix this hangover before I can call Ben and see how he’s doing. In the shower I noticed the skin near my hips had almost an orangish tint to them… It was odd, but I chalked it up to being just the lighting as it had almost a similar tone.
Once I finished up my shower and dried off, I went and called Ben to see how he’s doing and to wish him and Jenna a happy birthday.
“Hey Ben, Happy Late Birthday.” I say once he picks up
“Hey sis, how was yesterday? Hopefully, you two didn’t do anything regretful or stupid. I really don’t want to clean up any messes when I get home” He said
“We didn’t do anything like that yesterday and besides I already cleaned up, so don’t worry about that. We just mostly hung out and rewatched some old My Little Pony episodes.”
“Really? What episode did you watch, or did y’all watch one of the movies? I bet it was one of his favorite episodes.”
“We watched the finale.”
“I might not be an MLP expert, but isn’t that episode the one that Matt hated? I’m pretty sure that was that strange episode where Discord straight up betrays the main characters.”
“That’s the one. I don’t know why he wanted to rewatch that episode but we did. Anyways, are you and Jenna on your way back soon?”
“Yep, if everything goes to plan we should be back sometime this evening. If anything happens I would call or text you. I’ll see you later.”
“Bye. Gar Gar” I said before hanging up the phone
I froze for a second when I hung up the phone Gar Gar? Wasn’t that the same nickname that Smolder gave her brother in that one episode? Why did I call him that? Hopefully he didn’t notice or care but knowing him, he may just have been as confused as I am. Once I finished talking to him I finished picking up the rest of the mess from yesterday.
Once I finished up, I laid on the couch and turned on the tv. There wasn’t much on so I just watched whatever I found interesting. Soon enough, it was soon a little past three, and I was nearly asleep at this point before I got a phone call. Thinking it was from Ben, I picked it up but it turned out to be from Matt.
“Hey Matt. What’s up?”
“Yeah, hey Sam. Say, did we do anything weird or stupid last night?” He asked. He sounded a bit nervous, I wonder what he did to make him act like that. He normally doesn’t ask anything like that when we celebrate our birthday, even when we do drink.
“Uh… No, I can’t recall doing anything strange yesterday. We were a bit drunk last night so there is a chance of something happening last night. Why do you ask? Did something happen?”
“Well, I would tell you but you’d probably think I’m crazy or something. Besides, I’d think it would be better if I showed you in person.”
“Ok….. Well, you can come over here to show me.”
“Alright, I’ll be there in about 15 minutes. See ya, Smolder.” He said right before he hung up
That was strange... First, he wanted to show me something strange and that I wouldn’t believe him and second, he called me Smolder again. Something's not right but I guess I’ll have to wait for him to arrive to see what’s going on. Several minutes pass, and he soon arrives. Once he walked through the door, I could tell what he was talking about over the phone.
His hair was longer and a bit more wild looking than what it looked like last night. His hair is usually pretty short, but now it looked about as long as my hair. Another strange thing was that his hair looked tinted at the bottom. Most of his hair was its normal blond color before shifting into a pattern of two colors. One part would be a very light blue that’s almost bordering on being white while the other part is a much darker blue. I looked straight at his eyes, which were now an unnatural purplish color instead of a normal brown like they always were.
“You see what I’m talking about? This isn’t normal! We must have done something yesterday to cause this…” He says before slowing down. “Dude, did you get a haircut today? I don’t remember your hair being that short?”
I looked at him confused for a moment. “What are you talking about? My hair’s the same length it was yesterday.”
“I think you really should look into a mirror. You’ll probably understand what I’m talking about when you do that.”
“Fine, I’ll do that. I’ll be right back. Stay right there.” I told him before I walked into the bathroom and looked into a mirror.
I was surprised to see that my hair was much shorter than it was last night… But, that couldn’t be right. I’d remember getting a haircut. Normally they're down to my shoulders, but now they’re up to my head. Another thing I noticed was that my eyes looked off, not off as if they were another color but off as my pupils were now a different shape. They now were in a slitted shape, almost like something you would see in a cat or a reptile, not a human.
None of this was right. Did we do something like this last night? I would have remembered but nothing was coming to me, so I came back into the living room with a perplexed look on my face, and I saw him sitting down on the couch.
“You see what I mean? We must have done something last night that caused all of this. But, I still don’t remember doing anything like this. Hopefully we don’t have any other problems to worry about besides having to fix whatever the hell is going on with us.”
“Well about that, Ben and Jenna are supposed to come back in a few hours. So we only have a matter of time before they come back and see us.”
“Shit, that kinda makes it worse now that we have to worry about ourselves and the fact that those two are coming back. We need to fix this quickly before they return.”
“I have a feeling that this is going to be quite a long day.”
Chapter Three: Questions, Answers, and More Questions
I sigh as I pace around the living room as Matt layed on the couch. We thought about how we could have done this to ourselves last night, and yet we couldn’t think of anything. I stop my pacing and turn to him.
“Ok, we’re getting nowhere with this. Let’s try and retrace our steps. It’s a good idea to do that as we can try to find answers that way. So, when did you first notice the hair and stuff?” I ask him
“Well, my hair looked normal when I woke up this morning but it started to turn not too long ago. Same goes for my eyes.”
This all was so confusing, we never noticed this stuff until today, and yet we’ve been trying to tie this stuff to last night despite there being no connections to it. None of this was making any sense to us.
“You know, the more I’m thinking about this. I think this stuff isn’t connected to last night. Think about it, do you really think that we could do this kinda stuff, especially considering we were kinda drunk last night. But, it still begs the question, how is this happening to us?”
“You know, you're onto something here Sam. What if we’ve been trying to think of the wrong reason here. What if there’s been some other reason that this is happening?”
“That’s it! If last night wasn’t the reason behind this, then surely there’s some other reason out there!” I exclaimed ‘But how are we going to find something like this? I mean, I don’t think there’s anything out there that’s causing our hair and eyes to change.”
“Unless…” Matt pondered for a second before getting up. “Wait here for a second.” He said before going to grab something from his bag. He soon then sat back down, with a laptop in hand.
“If we’re gonna find a reason, then the internet is the best place to look.” He said opening the laptop as it booted up
Of course! Looking on the internet! I really should have thought of that. Hopefully there's gotta be some kind of explanation online. Cause, we really need to fix this.
“Maybe there’s some kind of illness that causes this kinda stuff to happen…”
“I don’t think that could be the answer..”
Minutes pass by for what feels like hours as we go around the internet, continuously heading into dead ends and false leads. It looked like there was nothing we could find. Well, until Matt notified me of something.
“Hey Sam, I think I may have found something.”
“Really?” I came over to him to see what he was looking at. “Did you find any explanation to our whole situation?”
“Well, kinda. I was checking Twitter to see if anyone was experiencing the same issues we had and I came across two people who said that they had cutie marks.”
“Cutie marks? From My Little Pony?” I was standing there confused. I wondered why cutie marks have to do with us until something in my head just clicked. “Wait a second. I just realized something.”
“What is it?”
“Think about it for a second. Your hair is turning into a combo of a very light blue and a dark blue and I have the whole reptile eyes going on. Does that sound familiar to you?” I ask him
“Now that you say that. It sounds a lot like the description for Silverstream’s hair and the eyes remind me a lot of Smolder. I think you might be onto something here.”
“Well, It’s good that we’re making some kind of progress. Anyways, do you have any info on those two tweets like where they came from and stuff?”
“Well, the first one comes from someone in Canada while the other one comes from Indiana.”
“Does either of the tweets say what cutie marks those three got? It would probably be a good idea to look into that.”
“Well the first Canada post sounds alot like Pinkie Pie’s mark with the balloons and stuff, but the other one has some vague info. It says here that their cutie mark is of a trio of animals and that’s it. Either the person has Fluttershy’s cutie mark or Sandbar’s cutie mark since those are the only characters who have marks like that. I also found another post from Canada about a trio of diamonds that sounds suspiciously a lot like Rarity’s mark but it sounds more like someone pulled a prank on them more than anything.” He explained as he browsed around on the website
“Maybe you should try to message them to try to get more info. Who knows, maybe they might know more than we do.”
“I’m not sure if it’s a good idea but I can certainly try. I’ll see if I can get in touch with the animal mark one.” He says before he went and sent a message to the person
BP34: Howdy. I saw your cutie mark post and I want to know more about it like where did you get it from.
“I just sent the message to them. I don’t know if or when they're going to reply so we might as well continue looking for more info. How these tweets were sent out the same day that this has been happening. Maybe there's a connection that can be made here, but for now there's no telling.”
“Alright, inform me when they do reply.”
We both went back to looking for info for a while, we couldn’t find anything besides those tweets and everything that we thought could be helpful just ended up being dead ends. We ended our search for info right as Matt got a reply from the guy.
CB: Hey, I saw your message and I am willing to give some info. Do you mind if I just ask a quick question here?
BP34: Sure, what do you want to ask me?
CB: Are you a roleplayer? I just want to know.
BP34: I used to be one but I haven’t roleplayed for several years now. Why do you ask? Is this some sort of roleplay thing?
CB:No, this isn’t a roleplay. I just needed to know since I’ve had a few roleplayers ask since they thought my cutie mark post was some kind of roleplay thing. I have to ask, do you have a cutie mark?
BP34: Sadly no, but I do have some other things going on like my hair and eyes changing color. Is anything like that happening to you or is it just the cutie mark?
CB: That stuff is happening to me too! My hair has been turning into this combo of ocean blue and some sort of dark greenish blue. My eyes have also turned green. Do you have any clue on what is going on?
BP34: Nope, we’re just as clueless as you. I was hoping that you knew anything new.
CB: Damn, I was hoping that too. Anyways, I think it would be a good idea to keep in touch because if either of us finds out something new, we can share that info to the other one.
BP34: That sounds like a plan.I’ll message you if I find something new.
CB: Ok. Message you later.
“Alright, looks like the same thing is going on with them too. We decided to message each other if anything else happens. We don’t have any answers, but at least we’re not alone here” He told me once he finishes messaging them and closed the laptop
“Well, it’s good to know that we’re not alone but we have a bigger problem now.”
“What is it?”
“Ben and Jenna are going to be back in half an hour and I don’t know what we’re going to do.”
“Uh.. Have you thought about trying to hide all of your changed features? Don’t you have a hat or something to hide your hair?”
“I could try and look, and what are you going to do? I don’t think you have any way of hiding your hair?
“We better look around before we have to explain why our hair looks so weird and the fact that you have scales..” He said before he got up to look around my room.
Scales…? I went back to the bathroom to see what he was talking about and… Yep, those are scales alright. Purple, Smolder-like scales. Luckily they weren't too big, but they were just barely visible. I was surprised that Matt was able to notice them. My hair also looked shorter than it was before, so we needed to find those hats quickly.
I quickly joined Matt in looking for those hats, and after a few minutes we luckily found a pair that could hide our features. We put them on and headed back into the living room to wait for their arrival, and it wasn’t not too long before they returned.
Before the door opened, I could hear the two faintly talking to each other.
“A-Are you sure that this is a good idea? I mean, what if Sam sees us! How would we explain this to her?” I heard Jenna say
“I'm sure it's a good idea. If she sees us we can just try to explain this to her. We’ve got nothing to lose. Besides, I bet she’s out doing something right now.” Ben said before he opened the door, giving me a good look at the two
Jenna’s hair looked like it was changing from its normal black to a combo of purple and teal, while her eyes were now what looked to be an unnatural purple, similar to that of Matt’s eyes albeit much lighter. Ben on the other hand looked very similar to me as a collection of yellow scales were on the top of his head. His eyes also looked different too, resembling that of my eyes. Both me and Matt were surprised at the two of them.
“Uh… Surprise.. We’re back..” Ben said with a nervous grin on his face before it changed into a shocked expression as he saw us. “Wait, you and Matt have changed too? This is not great..”
“Hold on a moment, when did this start for the both of you?” I ask confused as I took off my hat revealing the state of my head to the two of them
“Well, for Jenna it started about this morning and for me I don't really remember but it was sometime around this afternoon.”
”Strange... It seemed to start around the afternoon for us too, but how did Jenna’s changes start this morning instead of this afternoon.” I asked confused
“It was because of this.” Jenna said before showing both me and Matt a picture she took that morning.
It was a picture of her thigh and on it was a strange image. We didn’t really recognize the image until it hit me, it was the cutie mark of Starlight Glimmer.
“Wait! That’s Starlight’s cutie mark.” I exclaimed once I recognized the image
“Hold on a minute. A cutie mark? As in those butt marks from My Little Pony?” Jenna asked
“Yes, the same ones. You don’t really need to call them butt marks.” Matt said “That reminds me, both me and Sam saw some people talk about having cutie marks online earlier today. It’s honestly really strange and we still have no clue on why and how this is happening. For all we know we’re not the only ones experiencing this.”
“Strange, have you been able to talk to any of them? Hopefully, there’s an explanation for all of this.” Ben asked, confused. “What if this is some kind of new virus that’s spreading around?”
“Nah, it can’t be a virus, we’ve checked. If it was, it probably would have been all over the news, besides what kind of virus gives people the features of MLP characters? In terms of contacting the people, we’ve only talked to one and they’re just as clueless as us, but they did say that they would message us if anything else happened to them.”
“Interesting, what if we checked the news? What if there’s something on there?”
Matt sighed “I don’t think that we're going to get any new info from there but we can give it a shot.”
I yawned as I said “Y’all go do that.” I get up from the couch before stretching “I’m going to lie down for a while, and I think I need some time to myself.”
“The sun isn’t even down yet! It’s only like 5.” Matt told me
“Yeah, I know. I’m just tired from today. I’ll just take a quick nap and I’ll be right back out.”
He sighed “Well, all right. If you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask.”
I walk from the living room into my bedroom before collapsing into my bed. Maybe this is all just some kind of strange dream and I’ll just wake up soon. I look at the Smolder plush that Matt got me yesterday before I soon pass out.
Equestria
Discord began to charge towards Starlight while she continues to charge her spell. Before Discord could get a hit against Starlight, Yona tackled him causing him to fall over.
"Ugh! Why you!" Discord says before sweeping Yona into a nearby tree with his tail.
Me and Garble then quickly spewed fire onto him. Everyone then helped us by attacking him until he was down on his knees.
Something felt wrong about this. He isn’t supposed to go down this easy! Something tells me this isn’t going to go our way.
“Ugh...” Discord said weakly “I forgot how troublesome it can be fighting non-ponies, but no matter I’ll be the end of all of you before you know it!” Discord shouted
Discord quickly out of nowhere got the upper hand but before he could do anything he was frozen in place by Starlight
“All of you! Go out and find some help or shelter while you have time!” She exclaimed as she struggled to keep him in place.
"What about you?" I ask worried for her well being
"Don't worry about me! Just go!"
Everyone proceeded to scatter leaving only the four of us "She's right sis. We better get help while we still can." Garble tells me before spreading his wings and flying away from the chaos, I soon quickly joined him.
I look back at Starlight as I began to follow my brother. But, When I looked back for a second time, she was gone and Discord was now hunting us down.
May 2nd
I woke up in what felt like a cold sweat, before looking at my clock. It was around 11:30. It was almost midnight
How long was I asleep for? Shit! The other must be wondering what the hell I’m doing if they're not asleep by now.
I quickly got out of bed and stretched a bit. Something about me just felt off, like something about me was different. What was it? Was it my tail or something?
Wait...Tail? I quickly go into a mirror to confirm it. I have a tail that just made a hole in my pants. Great, I honestly don’t know how to react, if this would have happened a few weeks ago I would have been excited and I still am, but I’m just as confused.
There’s also some major changes besides the tail. For one, my hair is just fully gone and in its place are those fully grown scales. Well, at least I’m not bald, but still…
My ears are also gone and are replaced by those...horns? I never really knew what they were in the show and I’m not really going to find out now.
Looking at myself now in comparison to me earlier, I just look bizarre and I don’t know what the others could look like now. The idea just worried me… But, I better get out and see them.
I slowly walked out of the room and back into the living room, aside from Matt, everyone seemed to be asleep and just like me their changes seemed to continue too. It was odd to see Ben in the same state as I was, then again it was also funny to see Matt and Jenna with those funny pony manes.
“Hey, looks like someone is up.” Matt said as he looked over at me
“Yeah, I know. Why did nobody wake me up?”
“I don’t know. I guess nobody bothered to. Besides, I see you’ve discovered your new changes. Are you enjoying your new tail?”
“I didn’t think that I was going to get a tail!”
“Hey, you're not the only one. We all got tails now.” Hesaid as he stood up revealing his new light bluish tail. “I’ve also been talking to that twitter guy, and he’s been getting the same changes.”
“Besides, did y’all manage to find anything new while I was asleep or did y’all find nothing?”
“Nope, Ben thought that the news would have anything but there was nothing.”
“Ugh.... Ben can you stop laying on me like that..? I swear my horn is going to poke one of your eyes out...” Jenna said groggily while Ben repositioned himself
“Wait a second....horn? Last I checked, she didn’t have a horn.” I asked
“Same here.” Matt got up from the couch and shook her awake “Jenna, why did you say you had a horn?”
She rubbed her eyes as she slowly got up “I don’t really know, I guess it just happened to come out of my mouth. I don’t even know if I have one...” She said as she ran her hand through her new hair turned mane “..I guess until now.” She said as she showed us a small purple horn that was growing from the top of her head
“Damn. Wait, if she has a horn.... Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” I ask looking at Matt
“Oh, I know..” He said with a smile as the two of us turn to Jenna
“What are y’all thinking of..?” She asked confused until she realized what we were thinking “Wait... Don’t tell me, y’all think I can cast magic with this horn right? Magic isn’t real, remember?”
“Well, turning into characters from a cartoon about magical ponies can't happen, yet here we are. We can give it a shot. Besides,it’s worth trying. You never know.” Matt said before heading into the kitchen “I’ll be right back.”
“Fine, I’ll try to do some magic but I don’t believe that it will work.” Jenna said begrudgingly as she crossed her arms
Matt soon returned with an empty soda can in his hand. “Let's try to do something simple, that way it will be easy.” He set it down by a nearby table “Now I’m not an expert on magic and stuff like that, but I think you're supposed to concentrate on the item you want to pick up and then it’ll happen. Let’s try to do that.”
“Fine, but I don’t expect anything to happen besides giving me a headache.” She said as she closed her eye
She had her thoughts on the empty can as she imagined picking it up. For about a minute, it seemed like nothing was happening as she continued to concentrate on the object. That was until a few sparks came out of her small horn and then suddenly both the can and her horn was covered in a light turquoise aura before the can was lifted into the air.
We all looked at the now floating can in shock. She opened her eyes as she saw the can floating in mid air. The can and the horn quickly lost the aura before the can fell onto the floor with a clatter. We looked at the can, now sitting on the floor and then back at her.
“I-I never expected that to happen.” She said, still shocked at what she had just accomplished
I patted Jenna on the back “Hey congrats Jenna, to our knowledge you're the first ever being on Earth to cast magic.” I told her with a smile on my face
