Once upon a time, in the land of Outworld, there were evil vultures with bloody beaks. They were feasting on the dead bodies of Earthrealm and Equestria warriors. Kung Lao was trapped by a giant skeleton hand, Scorpion was stabbed by Sub-Zero's ice sword, Johnny Cage had his head cut off, and Baraka got cut in half by Kung Lao's hat before he died. The The vultures were messing with Sonya Blade's dead body, another vulture wanted to feast on her, and the first one flew away. We then see the Pyramid of Argus, where Cyrax, Spike, Nightwolf, Zecora, Sheeva, Snips and Snails, Kabal, Starlight Glimmer, Kenshi, the CMC, Quan Chi, Trixie, Liu Kang, and even the Mane Six were dead. But wait! Raiden's still alive, and he gets knocked to the ground by Shao Kahn.
"Where are the Elder Gods, Raiden?" Shao Kahn said before picking him up again. "Their pathetic Mortal Kombat shackles me no longer." Raiden got slapped in the face and Shao Kahn threw him and in slow motion, his amulet, and a locket Princess Celestia gave him both fell on the ground. The amulet cracked, and Shao Kahn snapped the locket in half with his foot. Shao Kahn had his hammer in his hand. "They masquerade as dragons, but are mere toothless worms. I mean, Come on! They do nothing but stare at us all day!" Raiden turned around and was greeted by Shao Kahn's foot stomping his chest. "My venom spreads. My dark magic grows. It is the end of all things. Armageddon."
"STOP!" Raiden pleaded.
"It is done. ALL of your friends are dead, and those pathetic ponies were no match for my newfound dark magic." Shao Kahn grabbed Raiden with his fist. "Your time has passed." Shao Kahn said before throwing Raiden one last time. "Ages wasted in foolish resistance. Now is the dawn of MY rule." Raiden grabbed his broken amulet and locket. He sat on his knees and began speaking in an ancient language. "Yes, pray to the worms, Raiden. Pray to your wife. As your worlds end."
Shao Kahn killed Raiden with his hammer, but not before saying his last words: "He must win!"
Multiple scenes from the past occurred, including ones where Raiden was kissing Princess Celestia at a wedding, babysitting Flurry Heart, and events that are most likely to occur in the story. In the past, Raiden witnessed these visions, and Liu Kang was standing next to him.
"Lord Raiden, what is wrong?" Liu said.
"Strange visions, past memories in Equestria, and in one of them, Shining Armor and Princess Candace-"
"CADANCE." Liu corrected him.
"Cadance asked me to babysit Flurry Heart... AGAIN." He noticed his amulet was cracked.
"Your amulet!"
"It is nothing, Liu Kang. The tournament begins." Raiden said as he put his amulet back on.
Everyone was standing still, Except for Pinkie Pie who was excitedly hopping up and down. An old man is accompanied by 2 females, one wearing blue and the other wearing green. Queen Chrysalis was holding a cup of wine and gave it to him. With a motion of his hands, the spectators sat down.
"Kombatants." he said. "I am Shang Tsung! In the coming days each of you will fight." He took a quick sip from the wine. "Some are here of their own volition, others were brought here by chance." The Mane Six, Spike, and Starlight Glimmer all smiled at Raiden, in which Raiden smiled back.
One of the fighters, Johnny Cage, who was in a totally different dress code, looked at a blonde named Sonya Blade and said "Hey, beautiful. Johnny Cage."
"Good for you." the blonde replied, not meeting him before.
"What? 'Massive Strike'? 'Citizen Cage'? 'Ninja Mime'? None of those ring a bell?"
"Kano..." the blonde recognized a familiar face.
"'Kano'? Wasn't in that one..."
Just then a blue pegasus with a rainbow-colored mane known as Rainbow Dash said, "HEY! Down in front! I'm trying to listen to Shang here!"
Shang Tsung continued, "You participate in the most important Mortal Kombat in history! This tournament, the tenth after 9 Outworld victories, will determine Earthrealm's fate. If you defeat all of your opponents, you will face one final challenge... me."
Johnny Cage laughed in awe. "Ha! That old geezer's the final challenge? They might as well give me the belt right now. They do have belts right?" When Johnny turned around, Shang Tsung was standing right next to him. "What? How did you-" Shang glared at the Hollywood actor.
Shang Tsung levitated back to his chair. "Our first kombatant will be Mr. Cage!"
Hearing his name, the Hollywood actor walked up. "That's right! That's right! Who's it gonna be?"
Pinkie jumped up. "Hokey Smoke. How 'bout... Queen Meanie? No. Black Snooty! Black Snooty!" She was interrupted when Shang Tsung shot a fireball at her.
"Reptile!" Shang Tsung announced. Reptile turned visible, and leaped onto the ground.
"Nice stunt!" Johnny Cage complimented. "Who's your agent?"
Queen Chrysalis was serving popcorn to the spectators and Shang Tsung, who announced "Begin!"
"All right! It's showtime!" Johnny said as the first match has begun. Johnny hit Reptile with green goo balls. After the fight was over, Johnny looked at his defeated opponent. "He got CAGED! That's it! Ha, haa! Oh yeah! I'm SO pretty." He walked up to the other kombatans, including Chameleon, Applejack, a stuntman, Trixie, and Sonya Blade, pointing to them. "And I'm taking you down, I'm taking you down, I'm taking you out, I'm taking you out, and I'm taking you out... for dinner."
"Ugh!" Sonya said in disgust.
Shang was unimpressed. "Now for your second challenge Mr Cage: Baraka!" The beast jumped onto the arena floor.
Johnny was stunned to see Baraka. "Mmm, okay... nice makeup, but is it REALLY necessary?"
Applejack looked scared. "I don't think it's makeup..." she said to Fluttershy.
Fluttershy said to Applejack, "Me, neither."
Right on cue, the Outworld Wolverine popped his blades out. Rarity let out a high pitched scream.
"WOAH!" Johnny Cage was surprised.
"They will taste your flesh!" Baraka said. Johnny kicked Baraka in the face multiple times, and even punched him in the balls. Baraka shot some sparks at Johnny, who didn't even get a scratch. Then Johnny uppercut the Tarkatan, as he was defeated.
"Man, I love those blades! My producer has got to meet you! We're doing 'Tommy Scissorfists', and-- "
"Congratulations, Mr. Cage." Shang Tsung said. "Now FINISH HIM!"
"Finish him? Yeah, right!" The actor said.
"KILL HIM!" The sorcerer demanded.
Johnny looked over at Cyrax and Sub-Zero, Scorpion and Quan Chi, and even the Mane Seven and Spike. Pinkie Pie was excited to see Johnny kill Baraka. "Woah. Woah, woah, wait a sec! I'm not gonna kill anyone!" Hearing this, Pinkie's smile turned into a frown.
"Very well." Shang Tsung stood up. "The tournament will resume at dawn!"
Everyone started to leave, except for Johnny who said "What, that's it? Really?" Johnny put his hands together. "Now where'd that hottie go?" Johnny turned around to find Sonya, but was cut off by Raiden and Liu Kang.
"You have fought well." Raiden said honestly to the actor.
"Thanks." Johnny replied. "Nice hat, by the way."
Liu glared at Johnny. "You should be more respectful of Lord Raiden. He is the protector of Earthrealm, the god of thunder, the--" he said, but was cut off by Pinkie Pie who suddenly popped up right next to him.
"Wait a minute! You CAN'T be the god of thunder!" Pinkie said.
Raiden looked at Pinkie. "Why not?" There were three seconds of silence. "It's Thor, isn't it?"
"Look, I don't know what role-playing you guys are into, but count me out." The Shaolin warrior tried to prevent Johnny from leaving.
"This tournament is more than a chance for personal glory. We are fighting for the very survival of Earthrealm." Liu said.
Johnny was confused. "What are you talking about?"
Raiden said, "Your last opponent was Tarkatan; he was born with those blades."
"Yeah. Those things are real." Johnny said.
"He represents Outworld." Raiden said as two guards took him away. "Had you lost, the emperor Shao Kahn would have come one step closer into physically absorbing our world into his."
"Outworld, yeah right, right..."
"The Elder Gods created the Mortal Kombat tournament to give Earthrealm a chance to defend itself."
"In order for Outworld to conquer a realm, you have to win 10 consecutive tournaments against that realm. This tournament happens once every 500 years. Earthrealm has lost 9 tournaments in a row. If we lose this tournament, Shao Kahn will conquer Earthrealm!" Pinkie said.
Liu Kang was angry. "Thanks for spoiling the whole thing, Pinkie!"
Johnny Cage gave a big "Dun Dun Dunnnn!" with Rainbow Dash. "Look, guys, I'm an ACTOR. I save the world for the cameras. If this emperor thing is really a threat, call the military. Me? I got a date with a blonde. Chao!" Giving Raiden a pat on the shoulder Johnny left the arena.
"What do you see in him?" Liu wondered.
Raiden looked at Johnny. "He is a hero, Lui Kang, though he may not yet know it."
Meanwhile, somewhere else on the island, Sonya had a walkie-talkie in her hand trying to get a signal.
"triangulating your signal for evac, but... there is no island..."
"I'm standing on it! Just lock on to my wrist com!" Sonya said to the man.
"Understood. What's your current status?" Johnny managed to find her and walk up to her.
"They have Jax. And if I don't fight in this crazy tournament, they'll kill him. I'm gonna try to talk to these ponies. Hopefully they can--"
"Need help?" Johnny interrupted. "I specialize in rescuing damsels in distress."
"You again." Sonya said trying to sound nice. "Listen. I got serious problems here. I'm in no mood to be hit on by some movie star."
"Come on, a girl like you shouldn't be wandering around in this freak show alone." Sonya just walked away, but Johnny grabbed her by the arm. "Look, baby. I can't let you run loose without an escort." Sonya shoved his arm away, punching him in the guts, and landed an uppercut on the actor's jaw.
"I don't need an 'escort'. And I'm sure as hell not your 'baby'!" Johnny put up a good fight, and finished her off with a Shadow Kick.
"Ha haaa! not bad for a... girl. Look, sorry about that." He reached out a hand for her, but Sonya slapped it away.
"I don't need your help."
"Fine. Have it your way. I'll just leave you to your... problems."
"Good idea!" Kano threw Johnny off the edge of the bridge. The actor yelled, and he disappeared like that. "Now that he softened you up, it's my turn!"
"Not man enough for a fair fight?" Sonya asked.
"I don't do 'fair'." Kano stated, starting to hit Sonya with his laser eye. "No need to get up, love." From below, Johnny still hangs on. "So tell me..." Kano continues, "how are things at Command?"
"Bastard!" Sonya groaned. Johnny started to slowly get back up, but eventually, his hand couldn't hold on much longer and he fell off, but luckily he was caught by Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle.
"Gullible bitch. Just had to point you in the wrong direction. Couldn'ta done it without ya!" When he was getting tired of using his lasers at Sonya, she glared up at him and said,
"S-F is on the way. You won't get far."
"Oh, I got a knack for survival." Kano remarked. "You, on the other hand, are gonna die here. I mean, it's not like two ponies are gonna catch that guy and bring him back up." Right on cue, Rainbow Dash and Twilight put Johnny back on the platform before flying off.
"Step away from the lady!" Johnny demanded. "Fans think my moves and wire work are special effects. Truth is... I am the special effects." After another fight, Johnny finally beat Kano. "Throw that on your... barby... Shrimp."
"Thanks." Sonya said.
"No problem. Who is that guy anyway?" Sonya pulled her hand up, and Johnny helped her get up.
"His name's Kano. he was an informant in our Black Dragon investigation. Big-time arms dealers. Turns out he was their leader, giving us the runaround. A lot of our guys got killed because of him."
"So that's not a costume? You're actual military?"
"Special Forces."
"Get out! So you know about this 'threat to the world' stuff right? Raiden called in the cavalry."
"Raiden?" Sonya said in confusion. "No idea who you're talking about."
"He's the other Thor in the straw hat."
Sonya was about to walk towards the exit, but notice that Kano has escaped. "Damn. He got away."
"He can't be far."
"He'll have to wait. I appreciate your help, Cage..."
"Johnny."
"... but right now I've got things to take care of. My C.O. is locked up on this island somewhere. I have to find him." Sonya went to find Jax, and Johnny smiled at her.
Sonya found herself in a tunnel after about two hours of walking. While there's some fire to light her way, she tried her best to sneak in quietly so that she wouldn't disturb anyone else in the lair. With her back to the wall, she whispered loudly,
"Jax! Jax! You in here?" Continuing to walk, she found Jax, along with Snips and Snails.
"You're a unicorn. Can you just teleport us out of here?" Jax asked.
"Can't. Some sort of shield is preventing us from using magic." Snails said.
"Oh my God." she said.
"Run, girl, run..." Jax warned. Sonya gave him a curious look, but a familiar voice was heard from behind.
"Ms. Blade," Shang Tsung called out from a few feet away. He and the two guards walked forward. "You do not disappoint! I have been expecting you!"
"Let him go! We're not part of your stupid tournament!" Raising his hand, Shang Tsung said to Sonya,
"On the contrary. You are very much a kontestant. You will face Sub-Zero, of the Lin Kuei clan of assassins."
An ice sculpture broke and it destroyed to reveal Sub-Zero. "Now you will feel death's cold embrace." The assassin said.
Once Sub-Zero was down, Sonya looked at him and said, "Done! We're leaving this confusing place!" Raiden then appeared within a flash of lightning. "Stand in my way and I'll kick your—"
"A challenge?" Shang Tsung asked. Raiden had a vision of Lui and Twilight smashing Shang and Chrissy's skulls together.
"No. You will not be the one to challenge Shang Tsung."
"You want some too? Fine by me!" Sonya put up a good fight, and finished him off with an X-Ray. Sonya told Raiden, "Enough of this!"
Sonya walked up to Raiden and grabbed him by the shirt, and said to her, "Shield your eyes."
"What?"
"Shield your eyes." Raiden flashed in a huge luminous light. Sonya protected her eyes while the guards and Shang, and Chrissy were temporarily blinded by the light. Sonya used the free time to use her blaster to destroy the bars and free Jax, Snips, and Snails, placing Jax's arm around her for support.
"Jax, come on! We're outta here!" Sonya said as she escaped.
"'Bout time..." Jax said.The guards ran after them while Shang and Chrissy casually walked up to the Thunder God.
"You aided their escape," he said to Raiden with a glare.
"You allowed them to escape," Raiden corrected.
"They will not get far." Shang and Chrysalis left.
Outside, Sonya supported her companion to a safe place. "Come on, Jax! Move it! That's an order!"
Her voice was loud for his ears, but he replied, "Oh... So you're in charge now?" On her wrist comm, Sonya began to speak for assistance.
"Special Forces Command, this is Sonya Blade! Where's that evac?"
"By order of Shang Tsung, no one leaves this island." Said Kitana who, and Jade were standing right behind her.
"I don't have time for this!" Sonya said "Outta my way! Both of you!" After the 2 Edenians have fallen, Sonya said to herself, "Sure don't need anymore surprises like them."
"Did somepony say, 'surprise'?" Pinkie asked, popping up in front of Sonya.
"How are you holding up?" Sonya asked Jax. "I'm fine." Jax said.
"So are we." said Snips and Snails.
"Liar," Sonya playfully accused him. "After I get you to base, I'm coming back. Kano's still here somewhere."
"Your obsession with him is gonna get you killed," Jax warned.
"I trusted him."
"Yeah, we all did."
"But I was the one he used." After Sonya's response, a helicopter was near, and that gave her a hopeful look. "I think our ride's here," she told him. She got up and waved at the helicopter. The pilot noticed this and flew closer to the two, but a huge fireball came and blew up the helicopter, ruining their only chance to escape. Even Pinkie was surprised as ever. "What?! No!" Sonya yelled. A sinister laughter came out of nowhere, and she looked to her right, seeing Shang with a fireball in his hand, and Kano, smiling smug at her. "Damn you!"
"You have a challenger. Kano," Shang Tsung announced. Sonya groaned irritably, glaring at her enemy.
"Pretty Boy ain't gonna save you this time." Kano said.
Sonya Constantly hit Kano in the knees and said, "You're comin' with me!" Walking up to him, she was stopped by a small wall of fire, preventing her from continuing forward.
"Kano is not your prisoner," Shang Tsung said to Sonya. The latter sighed, motioning her hand to Jax.
"At least help Jax. He needs a medic!" Shang Tsung walked up to her and just laughed evilly. She sighed and said to him, "Bastard." Kano walked passed her with a laugh while Kitana and Jade followed, giving her glares like upper-class women. Sonya shook her head in stress.
"There she is!" a familiar voice said. Sonya turned around, to see Johnny with Raiden, Liu and the Equestrian gang. "You all right? Hey, looks like you found 'im ." He saluted to Jax. "S'up, Sarge?"
"He's a ma—" Sonya said, but stopped when Raiden walked towards the injured man. "Hey, what are you doing?" she asked the Thunder God, who's hands formed electricity.
"It's okay. He's cool."
"What the?" the major said curiously, seeing Raiden doing this.
"Jax!" Sonya said.
"Seriously. He's cool." Sighing for the infinite time, Sonya watched as Raiden's electricity heals up Jax. The latter looked at his arm, seeing the bruises disappearing.
"Wow!" Jax said. "That's amazing! I feel better already!" Jax carefully got up, feeling good and new.
"Told ya!" Johnny said to Sonya. "Turns out he's a god!"
"Thank you... Raiden." Sonya said.
"Gratitude is unnecessary." Raiden said otherwise. "I have foreseen events, like memories of my future. They lead me to believe that you are all connected to Earthrealm's fate."
"What have you foreseen?" Liu asked.
"In my visions, Shao Kahn becomes invincible. He is immune to any kind of Equestrian magic, including the Elements of Harmony. He destroys all life in Earthrealm and Equestria. We will all die. I believe these flashes are a guide to defeating Shao Kahn. But disrupting the flow of time can have serious consequences."
"I'm not worried." Johnny commented. "I bet you could win this thing no problem."
"Unless directly challenged, I cannot participate," Raiden stated to the actor.
"Then why did you face me?" Sonya asked the Thunder God.
"Because you wouldn't listen to my warning. If you faced Shang Tsung, you would change the flow of time."
"What should we do besides standing around looking pretty?" Johnny asked.
"For now, the tournament must run its course." Raiden explained.
"All right then. We're with you, Raiden." With a simple nod, the Thunder God stayed still.
Rainbow Dash looked at the others and said, "We should probably head back ASAP." everyone agreed.
Back at the courtyard, everyone made it back in time for the next match. One of the guards stood besides Kano and Raiden noticed, sensing a vision of Kung Lao fighting Baraka. Raiden walked away while Shang continued to speak. "Kombatants! Before we begin the next match, there has been a change in the rules." One of the guards handed him a piece of paper. "The Mane 7 and Spike will be allowed to fly and use magic while outside of the tournament."
Everyone except Raiden, Liu Kang, the Mane 7, and Spike complained.
"Sorry, everyone." said Twilight. "The Elder Gods said so."
"Our next kombatant will be..." A circle of fire appeared, and Scorpion arose from the flames. It vanished once he was at the arena. "...Scorpion! Specter of the Netherrealm! Resurrected by the sorcerer Quan Chi! Who among you is worthy of this challenge?" As Scorpion looked around at the kombatants, he couldn't find the one he was looking for.
Pinkie Pie was hopping up and down like crazy. "Ooh, Ooh! I am! I am! I am! Pick me! I'll take you on! Come on!"
"Where is the Lin Kuei Sub-Zero?" Scorpion asked. "He killed my family and clan. I will have his head!"
"I know it is you, Kung Lao." Raiden said, looking at a guard standing next to him. "The Shaolin monks chose Liu Kang to represent your order in this tournament."
"I am Liu Kang's equal!" The guard said.
"That remains to be seen."
"Watch and see." The guard took off his mask and attire, revealing himself to be Kung Lao. "I accept the challenge!"
"Kung Lao?" Liu was surprised.
"Never mind the Lin Kuei. Now you face a Shaolin."
"You will regret your impulsiveness." Scorpion said before fighting Kung Lao. Scorpion threw a spear at Lao, and Scorpion pulled him over while yelling "GET OVER HERE!" after the fight was over, Scorpion looked at Lao and said, "You are not yet a warrior."
"Kung Lao!" Liu Kang said. He and Raiden helped the fallen warrior.
"Listen when your elders speak! You could not win this fight."
Scorpion walked up to Shang. "I have defeated the challenger, Shang Tsung. I demand Sub-Zero!" Raiden had a vision Scorpion holding Sub-Zero's spine and Noob Saibot rising.
Twilight looked at Scorpion and said, "You are acting like a spoiled brat!"
"You will demand nothing!" Shang said. "Nightwolf!"
The shaman walks up to Scorpion. "Your aggression is misplaced." he said.
"What do you know of my past?" Scorpion asked.
"You are not the only one whose people have been victimized. But I have found new purpose in serving the Spirits. I do not cling to the past."
"You no longer seek retribution? You dishonor your kind. I will honor the memory of my fallen." Scorpion kept slicing Nightwolf with his swords, until he was defeated. "The spirits have forsaken you, Shaman."
Shang said, "Well done. You are full of surprises. And speaking of surprises, your next opponent is... Pinkie Pie!"
Pinkie Pie hopped up to the arena. "All right, Scorpion." she said. "Get ready to party 'till you drop!" Pinkie Pie shot explosive balloons from her party cannon. Scorpion threw the balloons back at her. The two kept playing volleyball with balloon bombs, until Pinkie was defeated. "Aw, MAN!" Pinkie sighed.
"You waste my time sorcerer!" Scorpion snarled with his fist covered in flames.
"Restraint, Scorpion." said Quan Chi. Scorpion placed his flamed hand down.
"You will fight Sub-Zero soon enough." Shang said. He stood up from his chair, and Quan Chi followed him. While everyone else left, Scorpion's eyes lowered as he was frowning behind his mask.
"Scorpion," Raiden called out. "I understand your desire for revenge. but Nightwolf is right. There are other ways in which you may find peace."
"Sub-Zero deserves death."
"Defeat Sub-Zero if you must, but do not kill him. I fear his death will give rise to a more treacherous foe."
"That does sound weird, but I will still have my revenge!"
"Tell you what: spare Sub-Zero's life and I will request that the elder gods return the Shirai Ryu to the life of mortals." Scorpion took some time to think about it. The two nodded to each other.
In Shang's throne room, the doors opened up, Scorpion entered and walked up to Cyrax and Sektor.
"I understand there are benefits to the Grand Masters plan..." Cyrax told Sektor, "... but his plan goes against Lin Kuei principals."
"We are Lin Kuei, Cyrax." Sektor stated. "We will obey the Grand Master's comands."
"It means giving up our free will... our souls. It will turn us into--"
Sektor saw the fire ninja walk up. "Scorpion."
"Your inferior clan is dead. Soon you will join them."
"My clan may walk the Earth once more." Scorpion told the Lin Kuei warriors. Cyrax pushed him.
"A challenge!" Shang announced. "Scorpion and Applejack vs Cyrax and Sektor!"
"Yeehaw!" Applejack said. "Y'all ready for this?"
"Your obsession with Sub-Zero ends here." Cyrax told Scorpion.
Scorpion took down Cyrax with teleport while Applejack tied Sektor up with her lasso and bucked him in the face. After the fight, Scorpion declared, "I will have my revenge, but I will not kill Sub-Zero."
"Will not? Or cannot?" A voice said. Scorpion turned around to see Sub-Zero.
"You!" Scorpion muttered, glaring at his enemy. "The Shirai-Ryu are dead. You will suffer as they did."
"To hell with your clan." Sub-Zero remarked. Scorpion shook his head at the Lin Kuei and said,
"No... to Hell with YOU!" He grabbed hold of Sub-Zero, and flames surrounded them and they teleported away. The Mane 7 and Spike were surprised.
The two foes reappeared in the Netherrealm. Sub-Zero pulled away from Scorpion's grasp. "Wow. The Netherrealm." Sub-Zero said.
"This is where I was reborn. This is where you will pay!" The two ninjas fought to the death until Sub-Zero was defeated. Scorpion looked at his beaten opponent and said, "I have avenged my family and clan."
Quan Chi appeared behind Scorpion. "This is your retribution? Scorpion. Kill him."
"I..." Scorpion paused, thinking of what Raiden said earlier. "I will not. He has been beaten."
"Have you forgotten?" the sorcerer asked, using his power to show Scorpion what has happened in the past.
"What is this?" Scorpion asked. Pictures began to move, beginning with a fire burning a village. Voices were screaming from death greeting them. An army of ninjas were killing innocent civilians with arrows.
"No..." Scorpion said, realizing what this is. Sub-Zero slowly sat up, not knowing what is happening. In Quan Chi's magic, the invaders were killing people with swords, but the one that stood out most was Sub-Zero, the only one with actual color, riding on a horse while holding a sword.
"Your clan. Your family." Quan Chi changed the picture. In that, a woman sheltered herself in her home, holding her child in a strong grip, protecting it from harm, while the outside was filled with death and screams of pain. The screen door opened, and Sub-Zero entered, his sword in the scabbard, getting ready to be pulled out. The woman held onto her baby as she cried, accepting her fate.
After the scream, a trail of blood splattered on the screen door, and the rose petals fell down slowly.
"No!" Scorpion yelled, filled with rage. Quan Chi faded the screen as Sub-Zero lifted his arm.
"That is not me!" he said. Scorpion removed his hood, showing his flaming Ghost Rider skull, but then the Netherrealm blacked out. Sub-Zero let out a big scream as he was burned.
Everyone was talking, but then Scorpion reappeared. Shang Tsung anticipated what the result was, along with Raiden. Revealing what happened, Scorpion held a skull and spine. Rainbow Dash shed a tear.
"Ouch." Johnny said. Scorpion dropped the skull and spine, the bones crushing as they landed on the ground, in slow motion. After the motion was in normal speed, Scorpion let out his flames with a roar, teleporting out of the room.
Everyone began to leave, while Raiden stepped forward to the cracked bones. "Despite my efforts, my vision has come to pass. The ship has sailed for the Shirai-Ryu to come back to life." Cyrax stood beside the Thunder God. "An unfortunate end. He once defended Earthrealm from the Netherrealm armies of Shinnok and Quan Chi."
"Scorpion will pay for this!" Cyrax stated.
"Sub-Zero's fate is his own doing."
"His own doing?!"
"The Lin Kuei have a history of making ruinous choices. Such as the Cyber Initiative." Cyrax turned around and responded,
"I am among those speaking out against the Grand Master's plan. Surgically transform the Lin Kuei into glorified robots? It kills our intuition. Our instincts."
"Did you speak out against the Lin Kuei's participation in this tournament?" Raiden asked.
"We were invited by Shang Tsung. He promised us free hotel reservations with free room service." Cyrax said.
"He pays you to kill Earthrealm warriors." Raiden said, crossing his arms. "Betraying your own realm? I expect better. Even from an assassin."
"My loyalty is to the Grand Master." Cyrax defended, walking out of the throne room.
"Victory for Shang Tsung means the end of Earthrealm. And the Lin Kuei." Raiden warned. Cyrax took one glimpse at Raiden, the Mane 7, and Spike before leaving.
Twilight looked at Raiden and asked, "Who's Shinnok?"
While Cyrax was still walking, Baraka was watching him.
Cyrax walked from Shang's throne room to the pit. As he kept walking he heard footsteps approaching. He turned around to see Baraka and Sheeva. "What are you doing?" he asked. "I'm not here to fight you. I'm assigned to kill Johnny Cage."
"Shang Tsung no longer has need of you." Sheeva remarked.
"What do you mean?"
"He is terminating your agreement. And you!"
Sheeva jumped so high, she went off the screen and was about to crush Cyrax, who uppercut her before she hit the ground. The process repeated until Sheeva was out cold. Cyrax looked at her and said, "I need to have a talk with your master."
Baraka ran to Cyrax. "This fight is not yet over!"
"You mean to finish me? You couldn't even stop the actor!" Baraka tried to ram into Cyrax, but he jumped to avoid the Tarkatan general Cyrax kept going until Baraka was down for the count. "Now this fight is over." Cyrax knew Sheeva was telling the truth. "Shang Tsung has turned on me. I need to find out why."
At the courtyard, Cyrax opened the door, seing Shang Tsung, The Mane 7, and Sektor, talking and laughing. Cyrax looked at Raiden, who nodded at him. While Sektor and Shang Tsung were talking, Cyrax said to the red clad ninja, "Sektor, we need to talk. Our host tried to have me killed."
"You were speaking with the other thunder god." Shang stated. "Your indiscretion has jeopardized my plan."
"Cyrax is Lin Kuei." Sektor responded. "He will complete his task."
"We shall see. The next match will be Cyrax... versus Johnny Cage!" After his announcement, he levitated to his chair.
Rainbow Dash looked at Johnny and said, "Aw, yeah! Go get him!"
"What, me? All right then." He walked to the arena.
Twilight looked at Johnny and said, "Good luck, Johnny."
Across from his opponent, the actor said, "Not everyone gets to rumble with a celebrity. Ready for your beat down, Sunshine? Here it comes!" Cyrax kept hitting Johnny with bombs, and finished the fight with a buzz saw.
"That should shut you up." Cyrax said as he walked to Johnny and grabbed his neck, picking him up in the process.
"Finish him!" Shang Tsung said in the background. The Lin Kuei assassin hesitated from the sorcerer's words, and he looked at Raiden, who shook his head. The Mane 7 and Spike were scared to see Johnny die.
"I won't kill him!" He dropped Johnny back to his feet. The ponies sighed with relief. Cyrax left while Sektor watches him with a death glare.
In the gardens, Sektor found Cyrax, his face was full with disappointment. "You were commanded to kill Johnny Cage." Sektor said to Cyrax. "You disobeyed."
"Correction: I eliminated him from the tournament. He didn't need to die." Cyrax stated.
"You have broken your oath."
"I used my judgement!"
"The Cyber Initiative will eliminate insubordination."
"We are not machines, Sektor. I chose to serve the Lin Kuei. But I will not surrender my free will!" The two Lin Kuei fought. Cyrax trapped Sektor in a net and kept hitting him until he was defeated. Cyrax looked at Sektor and said, "Tell the Grand Master I am finished."
Sektor watched in shock as he glared at Cyrax. "No one leaves the Lin Kuei..." Cyrax kicked Sektor, threw his Lin Kuei ID card on the ground, and walked away.
Starlight walked up and grabbed the ID card. "Cyrax--" She tried to talk.
Four guards were walking towards Shang Tsung in this throne room with a mysterious person in the middle. The Mane 7 and Spike were confused, but Trixie let out an evil grin.
"Kombatants!" Shang called out. "Chrysalis and I present this latest creation of Shao Kahn! He is many warriors, their souls fused into one being. Behold... Ermac!"
Ermac started to show off his power. Johnny and Jax were surprised, Rarity let out a high pitched scream, Trixie was amazed, and Kano chuckled. Raiden looked at Liu Kang. "Be wary, Liu Kang. He is unlike anything you have fought before."
"Liu Kang!" Shang announced. "You are the sole Earthrealm warrior to progress to this final stage of the tournament!"
"I am ready." Liu said.
"We are many. You are but one. We will destroy you." Ermac said.
Ermac lifted Liu up with souls and threw him onto the ground. Liu hit his opponent with fireballs, both high and low. Eventually, Ermac was defeated and Liu said, "Earthrealm will not fall into your master's hands."
Everyone left the room, except for Kitana, who walked up to the shapeshifters and said, "He is a greater threat than anticipated. I will ensure he does not reach the final challenge."
"I hope so." Shang told her to make sure of what she said.
At the garden, Liu was flexing his pectorals and stretching his arms, when Raiden said, "Remember Bo' Rai Cho's teachings. For my vision to be realized, you must not let emotion overpower you. I've seen our first movie and it was a rip off of Enter the Dragon."
"Your visions." Liu said. "What causes them?"
"My future self sent them to me. Perhaps to ensure some outcome."
"Or to prevent one." Liu said. Raiden experienced another vision, and it was him before he died. "He must win. Those are my last words before I die. I belive it is you who must win." He showed his amulet to Liu. "This amulet was forged by the Elder Gods. It cracked here in the present after my first vision. If we choose wisely, the future will be secured and the cracks healed." Raiden said, putting it back on.
"I trust you will make the right decisions."
"We must trust in the Elder Gods, Liu Kang." Raiden said as he teleported, leaving Liu to continue training.
Just then, Kitana walked up to him and attempted to fight him, but he avoided her attacks until she threw punches at the Shaolin monk, but he caught the fists. "You're good! Show me more."
"Do not underestimate me, Shaolin." Kitana threw her fans at Liu, who jumped to avoid them, and hit her with flying dragon kicks, fireballs, and attacks from the dragon stance. Liu defeated Kitana and said, "I am impressed."
"Do it." Kitana said.
"Do what?"
"Kill me."
Liu got on his knees. "Why would I do that?"
"I came to kill you. I failed my father. My emperor."
Liu was surprised. "Shao Kahn is your father?!"
"I have disgraced him. You must kill me."
"I will not. This encounter never took place. You have disgraced no one." Liu got up and walked away before looking back at Kitana. "I hope we meet again. Under different circumstances." Liu continued to walk.
It was nighttime at the courtyard as Raiden, Liu Kang, and Kung Lao arrived. "Kombatants!" Shang announced. Only one Earthrealm warrior remains. The Shaolin Liu Kang. Is he ready to bear such a heavy burden? Earthrealm's fate is in his hands. You will fight alongside Twilight Sparkle!"
Twilight teleported next to Liu. "We have to win this for Earthrealm." The princess of friendship told him.
"Your opponent will be... Scorpion!" Scorpion emerged from fire once again.
"I do not fear you, demon." Liu stated.
"Fighting with Scorpion... the sorcerer Quan Chi!" The albino sorcerer walked out of a portal.
Twilight looked at Quan Chi and said, "No evil sorcerer is a match for the magic of Friendship."
"You have already lost." Scorpion told the two before fighting. Liu Kang kept hitting Scorpion with fireballs while Twilight and Quan Chi shot magic at each other. Eventually, Scorpion and Quan Chi were out. Liu looked at them and said, "As I said, I do not fear you. I pity you." They walked up to Raiden.
The Thunder God looked at the two and said, "You have fought well. But the tournament is not yet over."
"Goro." Liu said.
"What's a Goro?" Johnny asked Sonya, who shrugged her shoulders.
"Liu Kang..." Shang announced. "it has been years since an Earthrealm warrior has progressed this far. But the reigning champion is far beyond your ability. His new 'Magic Reflect' will obliterate you, Twilight Sparkle!"
"What do you mean 'Magic Reflect'?" Twilight said confused. Liu breathed carefully, remaining calm.
"To the Lair with both of you!" Shang said as a portal opened beneath Liu And Twilight. The two fell into the portal before Twilight got to use her magic to close it.
Twilight realized she had wings and landed on the ground on all four hooves. She used her magic to teleport a pillow under Liu, who landed safely on it.
"Thanks for the pillow, Twi." Liu said.
"You're welcome." Twilight said back. The two looked around.
"I did not expect to fight in this tournament." Twilight and Liu turned around to see Goro. "But eventually, even the Shaolin produce a warrior worthy of a Shokan."
Liu Kang was ready to fight. "I know who you are! I am ready for you!"
Goro said to the two, "I will give you both a warrior's death." Twilight shot magic at Goro, but Shang was right. He reflected her magic back at her.
Liu and Twilight eventually defeated Goro. The Shaolin monk looked at the dragon monster and said, "It seems the Shaolin trained a warrior greater than a Shokan." He looked at Twilight. "Goro was the defending champion. No one has ever defeated him, until now." A portal opened above them. The two looked up. "Let's go!"
In the throne room, everyone was silent, until Liu and Twilight emerged from the portal. "Shang Tsung! Queen Chrysalis! Only one fight remains! Face us... in Mortal Kombat!"
"So be it." Liu and Shang shot fireballs at each other while Twilight and Chrysalis fought hoof to hoof. Eventually, the two shapeshifters combined their powers and transformed into a two headed dragon.
Liu Kang hopped into Twilight's back as she flew off and Liu landed on their back. Twilight and Liu smacked the dragon's heads together as they fell and turned back to normal. Liu looked at the defeated shapeshifters and said, "Say it!"
Shang got up and said, "I... I concede." Chrysalis held out a white flag.
"Yeah!" Sonya and Nightwolf said.
"Yee-haw!" Applejack said.
"Well done, my friend." Lao admitted.
"He has saved Earthrealm." Raiden said as an abundance of light appeared from above, and everyone went to the champion.
"That was awesome, Liu Kang!" Sonya said.
"Congratulations," Nightwolf smiled.
"Way to go, kid!" Jax complimented.
"Aw, yeah!" Rainbow Dash high-fived Liu.
"MVP, baby!" Johnny said.
Pinkie Pie stood up and said, "We deserve a victory party!"
As the Earthrealmers cheered for Liu, the Outworlders walked to the bright portal, Shang Tsung heading out first. Kitana looked at Liu before she walked through the portal. Raiden walked up to Liu and Twilight and bowed in respect. Liu and Twilight smiled. Liu nodded while Raiden looked at his amulet. It made a mystical sound and it cracked again, surprising him, the Mane 7, and Spike.
At Shao Kahn's throne room, Shang and Chrysalis were on their knees surrounded by Trixie, Reptile, Baraka, and Kitana.
"Unbelievable!" Shao Kahn said as he was angry at the shapeshifters. "You failed me! 500 years I have waited for this moment! Now I must wait 500 more! I should be the guest of honor at that victory party!"
Shang looked at the emperor. "My lord! All is not lost!"
Shao Kahn walked to his throne and said, "Curse the Elder Gods and their tournament! I should have taken Earthrealm by force! But I am bound by their rules." Shao Kahn sat on his throne. "Rules that cannot be broken."
"My lord!" Shang pleaded.
"Please give us another chance!" Chrysalis pleaded as well.
"Kill them." Shao Kahn commanded, Baraka and Reptile grasping Shang's arms and Trixie holding Chrysalis still while Kitana prepared her weapons to finish them.
"But what if the rules were changed?" Shang Tsung asked.
"No, that’s not good enough!" Shao Kahn yelled at them.
"What if we had dark magic on our side?" The changeling queen asked.
"Kitana!" he said to his daughter, the princess looking at him all concerned. "Continue..."
At the Wu Shi Academy, Shaolin warriors and the remaining Earthrealmers and ponies watch as Liu and Twilight walk up to Raiden, and they bow to each other in respect. Raiden took the medals and put them on Liu and Twilight. Everyone behind the two cheered and clapped.
Everyone was having a good time at the victory party, except Raiden, Jax, and Big Macintosh who were outside. Raiden looked at his amulet and said, "That's weird. I do not understand why my amulet is further damaged. He must win... if not Liu Kang, then who?"
Jax looked at Raiden. "Ya got me... Not sure anyone coulda done what he did. Made Shang Tsung and Queen Chrysalis look like a pair of chumps. Right, Big Mac?"
Big Mac looked at the two and said, "Eeyup."
"Here to congratulate us on our victory, sorcerer?" Raiden said as he, Jax, and Big Mac turned around to see Shang Tsung, who was wearing an entirely different outfit, and younger.
"What? Shang Tsung?!" Jax said.
"You have been revitalized, I see. I didn't realize your master was in the habit of rewarding failure." Raiden said.
Pinkie and Twilight walked onto the balcony and looked at the sorcerer. Twilight said, "Shang Tsung? What are you doing here? We didn't invite you to our victory party! Your name isn't on the list, so you aren't allowed. Now get out before I tell the others!"
"The emperor has an offer, Raiden." Shang announced. "A new tournament."
Raiden looked at Shang. "Psssh. I see no reason to participate in any plan of yours."
Twilight added, "Yeah. Liu and I just kicked your butts, and now you want a rematch?"
"The Emperor proposes a single tournament, to replace the current system of ten." Shang explained. "It will be held in Outworld. If Earthrealm does not win, Outworld will absorb it AND Equestria. But if Earthrealm wins, Shao Kahn will abandon is claim to it... forever."
"Give your emperor my regards." Raiden told him.
Twilight Sparkle said, "Buck off, Shang!" The rest of the Mane 7 agreed with Twilight.
Shang grew angry and said, "Big mistake, everypony." Fire appeared on Shang's arms as he extended them. A portal opened up with a bunch of Tarkatans coming out. Raiden and the Mane 7 got into a fight with Shang, while Jax jumped off the ledge. He defeated three Tarkatans, and two more punched him in the face, he fell over and was knocked out with a kick to the face.
Jax started to regain consciousness. "He gained a momentary advantage during our kombat and escaped. I now realize what we must do." said Raiden.
Applejack looked at Jax and said, "Hey! Looks like he's wakin' up!"
A grey pegasi stallion that looked like a mare named Ed Plus and an orange unicorn mare named Cordelia with cutie marks that look the same but have different colors have arrived.
Ed looked at the fighters and said, "Hey, everypony. Sorry we're late."
Jax got back up and said, "Anybody get the number o' that--" He stopped and looked around to see Sonya wasn't present. "Wait. Where's Sonya?"
Applejack was confused, too. "I don't know. Wasn't she at the victory party?"
"Shang Tsung and Chrissy have taken her." Raiden answered.
"We gotta find her." Jax told everyone.
"We must follow them!" Kung Lao responded.
Raiden stated, "Shang Tsung has made it clear that both Earthrealm and Equestria will be constant threats unless I agree to a new tournament." Raiden had a vision of Liu Kang killing Shao Kahn.
"Another vision?" Jax wondered.
"Yes." Raiden explained. "I saw Liu Kang win the proposed tournament. I belive we must attend. But my earlier vision of your victory over Shang Tsung and Queen Chrysalis was not the solution I sought. Therefore, this premonition shows an event that I need to change. Perhaps 'He must win' refers to another."
Discord magically appeared behind Raiden and said, "You should have seen the look on Jax's face when he woke up. Priceless!"
Twilight looked at the dragonquus and said, "Discord, this is serious. We need your help to win this tournament. We can't let Shao Kahn merge Earthrealm with Outworld AND Equestria."
"Hear me, Elder Gods! I accept the terms proposed by Shao Khan!" Raiden said as a golden light shone down on him. "We go to Outworld."
In Shao Kahn's throne room, the emperor was greeted with Goro, who presented a yin-yang object to Shao Kahn. He gave it back to Goro, who put it in a chest which he and Sheeva moved out. Raiden, Johnny, Jax, Ed, Cordelia, Discord, the Mane 7, and Spike were looking at Shao Kahn and his minions, who didn't notice them.
"I assume that's the big man himself." Jax said.
"I can almost think of him ripping my jaw in half!" Spike said in fear.
Ed had a happy look on his face and said, "He kinda reminds me of John Cena."
"The wrestler guy with the cowskull on his head?" Johnny Cage asked. "And why aren't the Kung Fu Twins here helping us?”
"I sent Liu Kang and Kung Lao to free their Shaolin masters." Raiden answered. "I expected Sonya Blade to be here with Shang Tsung."
"She better not have a scratch on her." Jax said in anger as he walked forward.
"Wait! They'll see us! This is a tournament!" Raiden warned him, blowing their cover.
"Ah, the Earthrealm delegation has arrived." Shang said besides Shao Kahn. "And we have a volunteer for first kombat!"
"Wait, what?" Jax was confused.
"The tournament will begin... NOW!" Shao Kahn announced. The tarkatan army roared in cheers.
"Jackson Briggs!" Shang called out. "You will face... Baraka!" The tarkatans applauded for Baraka as he stepped up with his blades out.
"Damn you ugly." Jax called out.
"My blades will find your heart!" Baraka said before he shot sparks at Jax.
Jax hit the tarkatan general with a ground pound, launching him into the air where he was uppercut, and eventually he was defeated. Jax looked at him and said, "You shouldn't be running with those." He walked up to Shang. "Where's Sonya?"
"Tell me, Major Briggs... do you and she do anything than rescue one another?" Shang asked.
Ed was angry. "You tell us where she is right now, or I'll-"
"SILENCE!" Shang demanded. "Your next opponent will be--" Shang was about to announce the next opponent, but was interrupted by Reptile. "What is it?" The creature whispered something in the sorcerer's ear. "Excellent. It seems I have a pressing matter to attend to. With the emperor's permission, we will reconvene later." Everyone except the Earthrealmers and Equestrians left.
"What was that all about?" Jax asked. "I think we should follow 'em."
Cordelia and Ed looked at each other. "Good idea."
Raiden had a vision of Sonya chained up and throng to escape.
"You okay?" Jax asked.
"Sonya Blade... she is to be executed. My powers compromised here in Outworld, bio I will be able to transport us near enough to her.” Everyone left the throne room and found themselves in the armory.
"Maybe you could try for even nearer next time?" Johnny asked Raiden. "Where are we, anyway?"
"I will inform you the instant I know." Raiden said.
"Man, Shang Tsung's island sure is confusing." Ed said.
"You said it, Ed." Cordelia replied.
"I wish this damn tracking device worked in here." Jax tried to get reception.
"This is just like my movie 'Time Smashers,'" Johnny mentioned. "Where we were goin' around—"
"Give it a rest, will ya?" Jax remarked. "Makin' my ears hurt." Johnny paused.
"So what's the deal with you and Sonya, anyway? She's smokin' hot!" Johnny wondered.
"It's not like that. I'm her C.O."
"Honey like that, under my command? Oh I'd be so—"
"You'll wanna stop talking now."
"But if it's not like that, then you won't mind if I—"
"That's it!" Jax exclaimed. "Time somebody shut you the hell up!"
Twilight teleported in front of Jax. "Jax, stop it!"
Jax was angry now. "Two against one, why the hell not?" With that, Jax plunged forward and punched Johnny in the face and kicked Twilight in the flank until they were beaten. "How do you like that, Mr. A-List?"
"HEY! Save your fight for the tournament!" Rainbow Dash declared them to stop.
"You're right." Jax sighed.
"Sorry, Dash." Twilight apologized.
"Enough!" Raiden scolded, walking to the major. "Jackson Briggs. You will restrain yourself."
"Yeah well, I—" Before Jax could continue, Raiden motioned him to be quiet.
"Someone approaches."
"Good. Maybe somebody else needs their ass whooped." He walked up to Jade, while Johnny and Twilight got back up. "You lookin' for somethin'?"
"The Armory is restricted. You will leave now." Jade ordered.
Jax shook his head and said, "You're gonna have to ask nicer than that." Jade and Jax fought until she snapped his elbows. "Come on! I was gonna go applebucking with Big Mac!" Jax got angry and used an X-ray on Jade, defeating her. "Wrong place, wrong time, lady." Jax said.
Johnny walked up to Jax and Twilight. "Feel better?" Johnny asked.
"Uh, listen, Cage—"
"Don't worry about it. Guess we know where we are now, thanks to her."
"Yes," Raiden agreed. "And where we must go." Raiden headed off while Jax did so too.
"Let's do it." he responded to the Thunder God's words, following him.
"Um... um..." Johnny stammered not sure of what to do.
"Come on, Cage!" Jax said from afar. Twilight grabbled the actor with her magic.
In Dead Pool, creatures were playing a game which is like dice, but there was a lot of cheering involved. Watching them is Sonya and the Shokan Sheeva, the former being tied up.
"What is it with you Shokan and underground cesspools?" Sonya asked.
"If you haven't dishonored yourself by attempting escape, we would not be in this sewer." Sheeva told her.
From afar, everyone found her. Johnny yelled, "Sonya! We're coming!" gathering Sheeva's attention.
"Guards! Stop them!" Sheeva commanded. Jax glared at the actor.
"So much for the surprise attack..." Jax told Johnny. The door behind them closed.
"Well, what else could we have done?" Ed questioned.
Johnny and Raiden got into a fighting stance and waited for incoming foes, but Jax seems to take care of their job pretty well, making one of the guards fall into the acid with the weapon he took from his now dead opponent. Applejack knocked the rest on the guards into the acid with their own weapon and said, "Ooh! This could come in handy!"
"She is the emperor's property, human." Sheeva announced.
"She's nobody's property." Jax reflected Sheeva's fireballs back at her. Sheeva jumped in the air, and tried to land on Jax, who uppercut her before she could hit him. "I guess extra arms don't make a difference." Jax said.
Sonya watched her C.O. heading towards her and said, "You sure have a way with women."
Jax looked up at the blonde and picked her up, gently placing her down once the anchor was away from her. "You know me. I'm a class act." Pulling out a knife, the major cut the rope while Johnny and Raiden walked forward.
"Thanks." Sonya said. "What took you so long?"
"He was busy hitting me in the face." Johnny answered. Sonya checked her wrist computer.
"That's weird... I've got two sets of readings... heavy tech signals... both of 'em."
Jax checked his wrist computer, which was still not working. He said, "What? How come yours is working but mine isn't?"
Twilight looked at the two and said, "Well, now I'm REALLY confused."
"Technology..." Raiden trailed, crossing his arms. "Then they cannot be of Outworld. We need to confront the source of each signal. We might discover the one whose victory I must insure."
"Wait, what about us?" Johnny asked. "What are we? Chopped liver?" Everyone glared at Johnny angrily. "What?"
"Perhaps you are right, Johnny Cage." Raiden replied, uncrossing his arms. "You and Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Ed and Cordelia will stay close to me. Close as a shadow, and twice as silent."
"Sonya, you're with me, Rarity, Pinkie, Twilight, Spike, Discord, and Starlight." Jax announced. "Keepin' my eye on you." He walked up to her wrist computer and pointed one of the signals, saying to the Thunder God, "Raiden, looks like you'll wanna teleport yourself about thirty clicks that way."
Somewhere in Outworld, two ninja were on shore. One was wearing grey, and the other was wearing clothes that looked like Sub-Zero's. "We should stay together, Tundra." The grey one said. "Assuming your brother's identity will certainly draw attention. Not all of it welcome."
"You are right, Smoke." said the blue one. "But assuming Bi-Han's identity is the best way to honor him."
"Let us proceed then, Sub-Zero."
"We should separate. Our fellow Lin Kuei will not be far behind once their absence is discovered."
"If only they had been more forthcoming with the details of your brother's demise. We will find Shang Tsung. He will tell us all he knows."
"If he killed Bi-Han, he will die. Be stealthful as the night..."
"...and deadly as the dawn." Smoke said as Sub-Zero walked away.
"The emperor was wise to send me here." a voice said. Smoke turned around to see Kitana. "The Lin Kuei do walk uninvited in his realm."
"Wise though your emperor might be, he was very foolish to send his housemaid to interfere with Lin Kuei business."
"I am no housemaid! I am Kitana, Princess of Outworld! And I deal harshly with sharp-tongued intruders like you!"
Smoke turned invisible, confusing Kitana. Smoke kept hitting Kitana. Eventually, she threw her fans at him while he was shaking and teleported into the air, landing on her. Once she was defeated, he said, "Where there is smoke, there is fire." He looked at his opponent. "Sleep well, princess."
In the Living Forest, Smoke found Kano, Dr. Caballeron, and Shang with bazookas. Kano laughed and said, "With a whole army tootin' these, no one in Earthrealm, Outworld OR Equestria could stand up to you."
"Well done." Shang said as he was impressed. "You may tell your fellow Black Dragon that I am very interested in your merchandice." Dr. Caballeron held a necklace with a black gem around it. He told Shang, "With this, nothing magical will be able to touch you."
"You done well, Caballeron." Shang announced.
"Shang Tsung!" Smoke called out.
Shang and Kano noticed this. "I'll take care of him." Kano said putting the gun away. "No charge. One dead Lin Kuei... in a tick."
Kano threw knives at Smoke, who teleported into the air, landing on him after every hit. Eventually Kano was defeated. Smoke looked at him and said, "Stay down." He turned to Shang. "I would have words with your associate. Tell me what you know of Sub-Zero's death." Reptile turned visible and appeared behind Shang who morphed into Sub-Zero. "What?"
"Despite his failure at my tournament, I'll wager he was far more powerful than you, Lin Kuei." Shang responded.
"Ha! Assuming his form will not give you his skill, shapeshifter."
"Let us see if smoke can freeze." Shang tried to hit Smoke with iceballs, but he dodged every one. Shang stayed in his current form and was beaten up real good.
Afterwards, Reptile began to attack Smoke, who turned invisible as well as Reptile. They both punched each other at the same time, and turned visible. After they were defeated, Smoke said, "Now answer me!" Shang turned back to normal. "What do you know of Sub-Zero?" Before he could talk, he Smoke received a slap to the face. "Very funny, Reptile." Smoke was not amused.
Reptile was confused. "What? I didn't slap you."
Smoke was even more angry at Reptile. "What?" They kept arguing until Smoke yelled, "If you didn't slap me, THEN WHO DID?!"
"Smoke!" A mysterious voice said. The mysterious hitting continued.
"Gotta go!" Shang said as he and Caballeron teleported away with the weapons.
Just then, Sektor- who was now a cyborg- turned visible and said, "You have disobeyed the directive to remain at the Lin Kuei temple."
"Sketor?!"
"You will return with us to begin your transformation."
"You actually did it... you're a cyborg!"
"We are the Lin Kuei. More stealthful than the night... more deadly than the dawn!" The two fought. Smoke kept teleporting and juggled Sektor with uppercuts until Sektor has a quarter health left. For that time, used an X-Ray on him. As the cyborg fell, Smoke told him, "I will never submit! NEVER!" As he began to walk away, he was surrounded by an army of cyborgs who began to turn him into a cyborg.
Just then, Raiden, Johnny Cage, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Ed and Cordelia appeared. "There is great energy nearby." Raiden told them.
"Um... Rai-dude..." Johnny got his attention. Raiden had a vision of Smoke becoming a cyborg.
"No." Raiden said. "They must not take him." He electrocuted all of the cyborgs, knocking them out, as Sektor turned invisible and escaped. The 7 walked up to Smoke.
Smoke got on his knees. "Thank you Lord Raiden. I am called Smoke." He stood backup again. "Why are you here in Outworld?"
"To participate in a tournament to save Earthrealm and Equestria. Join us, Smoke."
"Forgive me, but if Sektor was searching for me, he is hunting Sub-Zero as well."
"Sub-Zero?" Johnny Cage asked in confusion. "Call me crazy with a K... but didn't we see him die?"
"The Grand Master plans to turn every Lin Kuei into a cyborg." Smoke explained. "My friend is in danger."
"The tournament." Raiden remembered. "I have a feeling your friend will be there."
"Then let us go." Smoke said. "Sub-Zero's soul depends on it."
"What about the others?" Rainbow Dash wondered.
"We'll meet them at the Coliseum. Let's go!" Ed Plus said.
At the Soul Chamber, Sub-Zero has finished freezing two people who failed to defeat him. "It is a pity you could have not cooperated." He looked to see Cyrax walking towards him.
"You are ordered to return to the Lin Kuei temple for assimilation."
"Cyrax!" Sub-Zero said in shock.
"I am Lin Kuei Unit L-K-4-D-4. You will come with me."
"I am sorry for what they did to you... but I will not comply." Sub-Zero began to ice slide at Cyrax and put the hurt on him real good until he was beaten. Sub-Zero then said, "I will face the Lin Kuei when my task is done, not before." Cyrax then disappeared to reveal Sonya, Jax, Rarity, Pinkie, Twilight, Spike, Discord, and Starlight.
"The readings were getting stronger and now they're gone. I--" Sonya was surprised to see Sub-Zero. "Sub-Zero?! But... you're dead!" Twilight was shocked. "That's impossible! We saw your skull and spine! How did you survive-?!"
"I am not the Sub-Zero you speak of." Sub-Zero explained. "He was my brother."
"Your... brother?" Sonya asked.
Pinkie was excited. "Ooh! Ooh! Was he single?"
"Sorry, Pinkie." Her smile turned into a frown. "I am only here to learn Sub-Zero's fate." His brother explained.
Sonya looked at Jax and said, "He was killed by someone named Scorpion."
"Where would I find him?"
"Try the Coliseum. That's where--" Sonya was interrupted by souls coming out of the mouth and they heard a voice.
"You have disturbed our regeneration process." the voice said. Ermac emerged out of the mouth.
"Ermac." Jax said, walking up to him, grabbing him by the throat. Before he could land a punch, Ermac used his other hand to telepathically grab Jax's right hand, spread his arms out, and released a strong amount of energy to rip both of Jax's arms off. Jax yelled from the pain, as Ermac pushed him to the ground.
"Oh my Celestia! This is not good." Spike was horrified to see this.
"Jax!" Sonya used her energy blaster to stop the bleeding. "Stay with me Jax!"
Ermac walked up to Sub-Zero and said, "We will break you as well."
"Not if I break you first." Sub-Zero stated before fighting. Ermac threw a soul ball at Sub-Zero, who jumped over it. He beat Ermac up when he was stuck in an ice puddle for most of the fight. When Ermac was defeated, Sub-Zero told him, "I remain whole, for now." He walked up to Sonya, who was trying to get in touch with her wrist communicator.
"Sonya Blade to Command. Sonya Blade to Command. Do you read?" No response. "Sonya Blade to Command. Do you read?"
"You have stopped the bleeding." Sub-Zero told her.
"Yeah, but he needs a medic as soon as possible."
"I must go to the Coliseum."
"But I need your help to-"
"There is a portal to the south. You can use it to transport yourselves back to Earthrealm."
"Mother f..." Sonya paused to stop herself from swearing in front of Spike. "That portal better be close..." Sonya went to take Jax to the portal.
Sub-Zero looked to Twilight and said, "Come with me to the Coliseum. We will meet the rest of your friends there."
"If you say so." Twilight began to follow Sub-Zero.
At the Coliseum, Kitana was fighting a wrestler, and Sub-Zero, Twilight and her friends walked forward. Twilight walked towards the rest of the ponies. Kitana defeated the wrestler as he said, "I have failed. I deserve death."
I have failed my father. You must kill me. Kitana thought of what she said earlier.
"Kill him!" Shao Kahn was growing impatient and released a green energy ray the the wrestler, killing him. "Kitana! You will join me." He said as a Tarkatan dragged the wrestler away.
"Shao Kahn! I challenge Scorpion, the murder of my brother! You will bring him before me! Right here and right now!" Sub-Zero demanded.
"No one makes demands of the emperor!" Shang told him. "Reptile!" The Zaterian walked to the fighting arena and growled. Sub-Zero made an ice clone and Reptile froze when he hit it. When Reptile was defeated, Sub- Zero said, "I would kill you, but that is not my purpose here." Reptile got up. Sub-Zero began to speak, but before he could talk, Trixie teleported onto the arena.
"You think you can defeat the Great and Powerful Trixie? Do your worst!" Sub-Zero said, "Your magic tricks don't scare me, Lulamoon." Sub-Zero fought Trixie until she was at half the health. The blue unicorn couldn't help but trap Sub-Zero in a magic box, only to escape and make an ice clone that Trixie hit to get frozen in place. Sub-Zero defeated her with an X-Ray and said, "Your magic tricks are totally cheap." He walked up to the emperor. "Your followers hold you in high esteem, warlord. They fight and die for your amusement. My brother participated in this folley. I do so only to face his killer!"
"And you shall." Shao Kahn told him. Quan Chi his hand into a fist, green magic appeared around it, and Scorpion appeared.
"What is this?" Scorpion asked. "You are not Sub-Zero!"
"I am his family and clan." Sub-Zero answered. "I fight for his honor."
"He HAD no honor! And you will die as he did!"
Scorpion and Sub-Zero had a sword fight, and Sub-Zero knocked Scorpion's sword out of his hand. Once the sword fight was finished, Sub-Zero emerged victorious and said, "For my brother!" Just as Sub-Zero was about to freeze him, an army of cyber Lin Kuei surrounded the winner. "No! You--"
Scorpion escaped, and Cyrax and Sektor appeared.
"Who now interrupts the emperor's tournament?" Shang questioned.
Smoke, Raiden, Johnny, Spike, and the ponies watched this. Smoke said, "Sub-Zero? No!"
"You cannot save him!" Raider said. "Stay here or they will take you as well."
"We request that we may return him to our temple for judgement." Sektor stated.
"And what do I gain from granting this bold request?" Shao Kahn wondered.
"The Lin Kuei's loyalty and service." Cyrax answered as they bowed.
"Very well. He is yours." Shao Kahn allowed it.
"The flow of time has been changed." Raiden told everyone. "I spared Smoke this fate, only to watch this new Sub-Zero fall."
"No! I will not be turned!" the blue ninja said before he was taken away.
"Kitana!" Shao Kahn called her daughter. "How is it that Earthrealm ninjas brazenly appear before me when my daughter, Princess of Outworld, was sent to intercept them?"
"Father, I--"
"Begone!" Kitana walked away. "Continue."
Raiden looked at Smoke, Johnny, Spike and the ponies and said, "Kitana's faith is a slender reed, bent before the storm. It can be uprooted altogether..." He began to leave the arena.
Johnny followed him. "Sure. Let's go ruin someone else's life."
Smoke was depressed about the loss of his friend. Twilight grabbed him with her magic and said, "Come on, Smoke!"
At the wastelands, Kitana asked, "Is this how you show your loyalty, Jade?"
"Kitana, I--" Jade wanted to talk.
"You follow me when I wish to be alone, and then you upbraid me? I will not be scolded like some child!"
"You need to be careful. I have never seen your father this angry with you before." Kitana tried to walk away, but was inturupted by Jade. "You are a princess. He expects more from you than this."
"I know what he expects!" Kitana says, turning around.
"We will talk later. When you are in more of a mind to listen." Jade said as she left. Raiden, Johnny Cage, Smoke, and the Equestrians appeared with a flash of lightning.
"Princess Kitana. I request an audience." Raiden told his niece.
"Earthrealmers and Equestrians!" Kitana challenged them. "You dare approach me?"
"Hey listen, honey, we don't wanna fight." Johnny said to her nicely.
"But we will if we must." Smoke threatened her.
"You will learn respect!" the princess of Outworld threw her fans at her opponents until they were defeated. She said, "Shao Kahn wants death to follow Kombat. I will give it to him."
She was about to finish off Johnny until Raiden said, "Perhaps Liu Kang was wrong about you. Or perhaps he sensed, as I do, that there is conflict within you." He helped Johnny up.
"Thanks." The actor moved his head. "Ow. You couldn't've seen that in one o' your hot flashes?"
The thunder god walked up to her. "Something whispers to you that circumstances are different. You are much more like Sindel than Shao Ka--" Raiden had another vision of Sindel yelling. "But... she is dead..."
"My mother is dead, yes. why do you--" she asked.
"You need answers, Kitana. I can help you find them, if you will trust in me. Go to Shang Tsung's Flesh Pits. Much will be revealed there."
"The Flesh Pits? But I am forbidden to--" "Yes. You are and Why is that?"
"I... don't know. Tell me--"
"You must discover your true path. Alone." He walked away and teleported.
Kitana was walking through the Living Forest, until she stopped and said, "Show yourself, Jade. I know you're following me. Again.”
"Following you still." Jade walked up to her. "I now where you're going. I am to prevent you from going there."
"And why is that?"
"I do not question the emperor's commands. Kitana, please. Turn back, now."
"I cannot. This path might lead me to the truth. I'm sorry, Jade... but I will not allow you to stop me." She lifted Jade up with her fans, and kept hitting her in the air until she was defeated. She looked at Jade and told her, "I tried to warn you... This is something I have to do." Kitana has made it to the Flesh Pits. There were the remains of Tarkatans and many other experiments. She looked to see a Tarkatan clone of her. "What in the name of..." She walked to a table to see another female Tarkatan to get a closer look. "She looks like... me!" The clone opened her eyes. Kitana gasped at this.
"Sister!" said the clone as she got up. "So pretty, so fair... so sad and alone... Come. Let us be a family!"
"You are not my family. You are a monstrosity!" Kitana dashed into her opponent with her fans repeatedly. The two 'sisters' fought until Mileena was defeated. Kitana look at her clone and said, "Farwell, sister!"
She was about to kill Mileena until Shang saw this and told her, "That is no way to treat your sibling."
"Despicable swine!" Kitana said. "Do you think my father will stand for this... these... abominations you have created here?!"
"I am merely perfecting you, princess. As difficult as that might be."
"Silence! I will drag you before Shao Kahn by your pointed beard!" Kitana and Shang fought until the sorcerer morphed into Kitana. When the real Kitana won, she looked at the fallen sorcerer and said, "Get up." She grabbed him by the chest. “You will stand before my father and confess your deeds." She pushed him. In the Throne room, Shang was on his knees with 2 Tarkatan guards behind him. Trixie was standing next to the emperor. She told her father and Trixie. "I would not disturb you, father, if this matter were not of utmost importance. I felt you should know what Shang Tsung has been doing as of late." The princess stated. "This conjurer has created horrid replicas of me--crossbred with Tarkatan blood. One was alive--and it attacked me!"
"Sweet Celestia! The Great and Powerful Trixie is gonna have nightmares of that!"
Shao Kahn stood up from his throne, and looked at Shang, and said, "Well done, sorcerer." Shang got back up. "Huh?" Trixie was shocked.
"What?" Kitana said. "You know... You... approve? How could you? My own father!"
"Idiot!" Shao Kahn yelled. "I am your emperor! Your father was a weakling Edenian king. I annihilated him while merging his realm with Outworld and took his queen as my wife. If only I had not allowed Sindel to convince me of your worth... But now, I have a true daughter!"
"Raiden was right. You have lied to me my entire life."
"Escort her to the Tower. I will make an example of her." The Tarkatans took her away. "Shang, return to the Flesh Pits. Bring me my daughter, Mileena- and make sure she has clothes on this time!"
Jade watched Kitana go and said, "I have failed you, Kitana. Now I will make amends." She went to get help.
Baraka and another Tarkatan were in the armory, putting weapons into crates. "That is all of them." the other Tarkatan said, pointing the gun at Baraka.
"That is no toy!" Baraka took the gun. "It belongs to Shang Tsung! We are finished. Return to your post." The Tarkatan left. Baraka put the last gun away and closed the lid of the crate. He looked to see Jade standing towards him.
"Stand aside." She ordered. "I will see Kitana."
"No one enters the Tower." Baraka refused to let her in.
"You are an excellent guard dog, Baraka. But you must learn to heel."
"I do not take orders from you."
Jade kept hitting Baraka with a series of shadow kicks. Eventually, Baraka was defeated. She looked at him and said, "Good boy."
"Edenians have no loyalty."
"Blind loyalty is not a good thing, as I have learned. You must keep your eyes open-- to anticipate the finishing blow."
"What are you talking abou--" Jade stepped on his head real hard, knocking him unconscious.
"You make it too easy." She began to hed toward the Tower where Kitana was bound to a statue by Trixie, who was standing next to Sheeva.
"If you had not dishonored yourself by--" Sheeva talked to Kitana until she and Trixie turned around.
"Jade." Kitana responded.
"My orders are clear." Sheeva stated. "No one is allowed in the Tower."
"As you can see, I am here." Jade informed her.
"Yes, here to help the princess escape! You would deny your execution? Your only means of regaining her honor?"
"We have very different concepts of honor, Shokan." Jade hit Sheeva with her pole. Once she was beaten Jade looked at her and said, "Not much of a jailor are you?"
Trixie teleported up to Jade and said, "Trixie won't let you touch Kitana!"
"Suck it up, Trixie!" Jade said as they fought. Jade kept uppercutting Trixie until she was unconscious. Jade looked at the fallen unicorn and said, "Not so great and powerful now, are you?" She walked up to Kitana. "Now then your highness, let us see how quickly we can remove these bonds."
"Jade, I--" Kitana tried to say something.
"I am too."
"Stop her!" Mileena said behind the door. "Do not let her get away!"
"Go. Find Raiden. Ask for his help." Kitana told her friend as she left.
Jade made it back to the wastelands where she said to herself, "That should distance me from any pursuers." Just then, Mileena appeared out of nowhere. Jade gasped.
"Others pursue. I find." Mileena explained.
"By the gods... You are Mileena!"
"You must return with me! there is to be a celebration for my sister! She is going away..."
Jade threw a boomerang at Mileena, and it hit her twice as it came back to her. Once the fight was was over, Jade explained, "I am more of a sister to Kitana than you. I must find Raiden."
"He is here." A distinct voice said. Raiden, Johnny, Smoke, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and the Equestrians appeared by a struck of lightning.
Smoke saw this and said, "Kitana turns away from Shao Kahn so you attack her rather than join her?"
"This is not--"
"Smoke! Stop! That is not Kitana!" Raiden warned him.
"You will come no closer!" Smoke didn't listen to his warning.
Jade kept hitting Smoke with kombos until he was beaten. She told the defeated Lin Kuei warrior, "I did not wish to do that." Ed and Cordelia helped Smoke up. "Lord Raiden. I come at the request of-" While they were speaking Johnny looked at the Shaolin monks.
"'Lord'? I was with Smoke. I thought she was a bad guy. Girl. Guess he turned another one... What's Raiden got that I haven't got?" Johnny wondered.
"God-like power?" Liu responded.
"A personality that is not at all like sanding paper?" Lao responded as well.
"Jerks." The actor said.
Back to Kitana. "...if we do not save her, she will be executed. Kitana doesn't have much time."
"Huh?" Applejack was shocked.
"What?" Fluttershy said in fear.
"Kitana... executed? Where is she?" Liu wondered.
"Held captive in the Tower of Shao Kahn's fortress." Jade explained to everyone.
"I am not pleased with this outcome either, Liu Kang." Raiden told his protege. "But there is no time to lose. We must return to the tournament."
Liu spoke back. "But you are responsible for her capture! You persuaded her to turn against Shao Kahn!"
Kung Lao looked at Raiden. "Lord Raiden. We can free her as others fight in our stead, and join you thereafter."
Raiden looked at the two. "Very well."
The Shaolin monks left. Lao said, "We'll meet you at the Coliseum."
Applejack looked at Raiden and said, "I like Kung Lao's hat. I think I'm in love with him."
Rarity held out 7 uniforms with Discord as the Mortal Kombat logo and gave them to her, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie, Twilight, and Starlight.
"What are these?" Applejack asked in confusion.
"They're MK ninja suits! I made them for the tournament!" Rarity squealed in excitement.
Liu and Lao were walking in the tower. "I hope your girlfriend is worth Lord Raiden's anger, Liu Kang. You're jealous that AJ loves my hat." Kung Lao said.
"Notice that I am ignoring you." Liu didn't want to hear it. They looked around and Kitana was not bound to the statue. "What? She was right here, just like Jade told me!"
"Hmm... They must have relocated Kitana." Lao guessed. Just then, Sheeva was coming out of one door, and Noob Saibot coming out of the other.
"We have indeed." The black ninja responded. "We knew someone would come for her." Liu Kang handled Sheeva, while Kung Lao walked up to Noob. "May you join her in death! Get ready for a blackout!"
Kung Lao jumped over Noob's Shadow clone and kept hitting him with a dive kick until he was defeated. Once he was beaten, Lao, looked up to the shadow ninja and said, "Be thankful I chose not to spill your tainted blood." He walked up to him. "Who are you? Say, there is something familiar..." He looked to see Liu and Sheeva were still fighting. "Do you need help? Four arms against two is hardly a fair fight."
"Liu Kang?!" Lao turned around to see Goro, who let out a roar.
"You have had your match against Liu Kang. Now you will face me!" He tossed his hat at Goro until the Shokan was defeated. Lao looked and said, "Now if you had any honor left... you will tell us where Kitana is!"
"She has been taken to the Coliseum, where she has no doubt been executed."
"You lie!" Liu Kang stepped on his skull, knocking him unconscious.
"She may yet live. Let us go." Kung Lao said as they left the tower.
In the Coliseum, Ermac was fighting Johnny Cage. The actor kicked his opponent, but he grabbed his knee and punched him in the knee as he fell to the ground.
The Mane 7 were in their ninja outfits. Applejack looked at Rarity and said, "You must be really obsessed with this Mortal Kombat ninja thing."
"Yes, darling!" Rarity smiled.
"Ermac wins!" Shang declared. The monks arrived at the Coliseum and looked to see Kitana chained up.
"There's Kitana!" Lao pointed.
"I must free her!" Liu said as he walked with Lao.
"Not now!" Raiden warned him. "Smoke and Johnny Cage have been defeated, and I no longer sense Jackson Briggs' or Sonya Blade's presence in Outworld." The other thunder god and Shaolin monks stopped. "Despite my doubts to whether or not you are Earthrealm's savior, you must fight!"
"But I am not 'He Who Must Win'." Liu walked up to Kitana.
"Raiden!" Shao Kahn called out. "Put forward a worthy champion... if you can."
Kung Lao looked at Raiden. "Perhaps you are meant to be the victor." Raiden guessed. Kung Lao walked up to the arena.
"Bring your strongest pony before me!" Applejack walked up to the arena. "You will face Shang Tsung." The emperor stated. "And Quan Chi." The audience cheered.
"No Earthrealm boy or Equestria pony can stop this Deadly Alliance." Quan Chi stated.
"On that we agree." Shang added.
Applejack threw some apples at Shang, which he didn't like, while Kung Lao threw his hat on the ground as it got in Quan Chi's path. When they were defeated, Kung Lao looked at the defeated sorcerers and said, "It is done!"
"No, Kung Lao. Not nearly so." Shang endured.
The sorcerers got up and the gate behind Kung Lao opened up to reveal Kintaro. The monster let our a roar as the audience cheered for him. He walked up to Lao and Applejack and said, "I will eat your hearts!"
"Woah, now that is crazy talk from someone who works for Shao Kahn when they belong in a zoo!" Applejack said.
"Hey! My parents got rejected from a zoo!" Kintaro yelled at the cowpony.
Kintaro blew fire at the Mad Hatters. Applejack bucked Kintaro in the knees while Kung Lao dived kicked at him from behind. Once the tiger was defeated Kung Lao laughed. The audience booed at the two winners as they took their hats off and waved them in the air.
"You see, Raiden?" Kung Lao said. "Kintaro is defeated, we won the tournament, and Earthrealm and Equestria are free from Outworld!"
Applejack looked at Kung Lao as they were about to kiss, but the kiss was cut short when Shao Kahn appeared behind Kung Lao and snapped his neck, killing him. "What in tarnation?!" Applejack screamed and ran back to the other ponies. The audience roared in happiness.
"Kung Lao!" Raiden said in shock.
"Nooo!" Liu said as he finished removing one of Kitana's chains.
"We were gonna wear each other's hats!" Applejack yelled.
"You cheated!" Rainbow Dash screamed in anger.
"I will strip the flesh from your bones!" Raiden said as lightning appeared in his hands. Liu tackled the emperor and Raiden stopped. Shao Kahn knocked Liu on his back as he got up.
"Witless boy. Do you know who I am?" The emperor asked.
"The murderer of my friend!" Liu was angry.
"I am Shao Kahn! Konquerer of Worlds! You will taste no victory."
"You will taste your own blood!" Liu Kang shot fireballs, bicycle kicked, and uppercut Shao Kahn until he was beaten. Liu looked at the fallen emperor and told him, "On your feet!" Shao Kahn got up, barely conscious. Liu's fist caught on fire as he yelled, "For Kung Lao, the Shaolin and Earthrealm!" He punched the emperor in chest in slow motion, as the fist came out the other side of his body. Liu let go as Shao Kahn fell to his knees, spitting out blood. He fell to the ground, as he was dead.
"I cannot belive... Earthrealm has won... again." Shang said in a soft voice. Another golden light shone onto Liu Kang.
"The Elder Gods have spoken. Earthrealm and Equestria are free of Shao Kahn forever." Raiden announced to the ponies. Ed and Cordelia gave each other a hoof bump. Two Tarkatans picked Shao Kahn and carried him away. Kitana and Liu looked at each other briefly before they walked up to Raiden and got on their knees. Raiden continued, "But the price of victory was almost too steep to pay. kung Lao's death is my fault. I encouraged him. Our triumph was not meant to be achieved in this way. I see now. "He must win" refers to you. But to prevent Armageddon, you needed to defeat Shao Kahn, not Shang Tsung." Raiden looked at his amulet to discover that it has been cracked even more. "It cannot be! Shao Kahn is dead! Yet the future remains unchanged." Pinkie Pie threw another victory party. Shang Tsung was looking at the victory party through a crystal ball in the throne room where all of the emperor's allies thought of what to do next.
"Shao Kahn is finished." Goro said.
"Mileena is his heir. She should rule." Baraka suggested.
"Mileena? She only because of my sorcery." Shang stated.
"And you breathe because I restrain mine!" a nearby voice said. Everyone turned around to see Shao Kahn was alive! Quan Chi was standing next to him. Everyone except Shang bowed to him.
"Emperor!" Shang said.
"You live!" Motaro said.
"How is this possible?" Trixie asked. "Trixie saw you die!"
"I am not so easily killed. Quan Chi accelerated my recovery." the emperor explained.
"Emperor, I--" Shang wanted to speak.
"Not. One. Word. Because of you, Outworld can neither be merged with Earthrealm NOR Equestria!"
"There may yet be an alternative, Emperor." Quan Chi suggested. "Invasion."
"Invasion?!" Shang said as Shao Kahn held his hand at him, telling him to not talk.
"Do you mock me?" The emperor said to Quan Chi. "Sindel's ward prevents me from setting foot in Earthrealm."
"Have you considered why your wife and empress chose to betray you in this particular fashion?"
"Of course. But even after milenia, her motives are a mystery."
"She realized that the safeguards afforded by the Elder Gods through Mortal Kombat are but fiction. She sacrificed herself to give protection the Elder Gods could not. So Earthrealm could not suffer as had Edenia."
"Indeed." Shao Kahn sat on his throne.
In the desert, there was a green swirl of magic. Quan Chi and Noob Saibot were looking at it.
"I have mastered the spells for her resurrection. Her ward will be nullified. And with it the barrier that prevents your entry into Earthrealm." From the magic swirl, a skeletal hand emerged out of the sand. "I will return her to you of course." Another skeletal hand emerged from the ground. "You will find her much more... cooperative."
"This is a very magnanimous offer." Shao Kahn stated. The rest of the skeleton emerged from the sand.
"I wish only to serve, Emperor."
"I am weary of sorcerers, Quan Chi. Prove your worth. Bring her to me."
Using magic, Quan Chi rolled the skeleton over and began to reproduce his skin. The skeleton began to scream during the process.
Once Sindel was fully resurrected, Quan Chi walked up to her, got on his knees, and said her name, "Sindel."
"Quan Chi?" Sindel was surprised to see the albino sorcerer.
"Shao Kahn looks forward to your return."
"The Emperor! Yesss. What of Kitana?"
"Kitana now allies herself with Earthrealm."
"Then she is no longer my daughter. Take me to Shao Kahn."
"Yes, Empress." Quan Chi said as he stood up. "The invasion of Earthrealm and Equestria can now begin."
In New York City, there was a war between the U.S. army and Tarkatans. But the U.S. army was losing. Stryker and Kabal were watching this.
"Fifteen... Sixteen... Seventeen... Eighteen. Kabal. Call it in." Stryker said.
"Base. Eagle Two. We count eighteen. One-eight bogies. Southbound on Olympic." Kabal said to their base.
"Roger that."
"Eagle Two out." Kabal hung up.
"This is not happening." Stryker didn't like the monsters.
"Not what I was thinking when we sworn to protect and serve."
"What's that?" Stryker looked down to see Reptile climbing.
"I'm thinking shoot first, ask questions later."
"Fine with me." Stryker said as he and Kabal shot bullets at Reptile. Some of the bullets missed. Reptile leaped into the air and landed in front of them as he took off his mask. "Pistols!" Stryker told Kabal. Reptile created an acid wall to stop the bullets, protecting him. As they reloaded, the Zaterran stuck out his tounge, disarming Kabal and knocking him out. "Enough of this!" Stryker demanded. "It's you and me, Freakshow!" Stryker shot bullets at Reptile, but they did little damage to him. So he puncked and kicked him. Once Reptile was defeated, Stryker looked up to him and said, "Spitting? Sticking out your tounge? Bet your mama's real proud." He helped hids buddy out. "C'mon. We're going street level. We've been compromised."
"It ain't safe down there." Kabal warned him.
"Better there than here." They went downstairs to see an army of soilders being chased by a giant monster.
"Stryker! Check her out!" Kabal looked at Mileena. "Whaddaya think? Friend or foe?"
"Foe."
"Dressed like that?"
"Definitely foe."
"Cover me." Kabal said, opening the door.
Stryker walked to the bridge to see Mileena. "Hey, what're you doing out here?" Stryker asked.
Mileena giggled as she took off her mask to reveal her teeth. "Looking for a new playmate!" She put her mask on.
Stryker kept hitting Mileena with grenades, and eventually defeated her. He looked at her and said, "You're coming with me." Just as he was about to arrest her, Stryker heard a roar, and looked up to see a pterodactyl-like creature flying. Mileena was about to hurt Stryker, but she couldn't due to Raiden electrocuting her. He landed besides Stryker who asked, "Who... who are you?"
Before Raiden could speak, he said "Argh!" after having another vision.
"Are you all right?" Stryker asked. Another roar was heard on the other bridge. Stryker turned around to see Johnny Cage fighting Motaro. Stryker was confused.
"Johnny Cage fighting a giant monster?! What is this, 'Time Smashers'?!" Raiden electrocuted the centaur and knocked him off the bridge.
Kabal was surprised. "That guy just shot lightning. From his hands. How'd he do that?"
"No idea." Stryker answered. They heard ANOTHER roar and turned around to see Kintaro. "Spread out. Give 'em multiple targets." Stryker said as he and Kabal pointed their guns at Kintaro, but he burned Kabal as he was about to pull the trigger. Kabal screamed in agony as his skin was burned.
"Humans. Less ugly when they burn." Kintaro stated.
Stryker kept hitting Kintaro with his baton until he was knocked out. He looked at the Tiger and said, "Never knew I had it in me." Kabal's groan got his attention. "Kabal!" He rushed to his partner, whose clothing and skin were burned. "Base! Eagle Two!"
"Go Eagle Two." The base said.
"Need medevac. Current position. Kabal is down. Third-degree burns. Like, so bad like Anakin Skywalker bad!"
"Medevac unit routing to you. ETA ten minutes."
Just then Stryker was levitated by Ermac. "What the?!" He said in confusion.
"Say again? Eagle Two, report! Eagle Two!" Stryker screamed as he was launched into the subway. He bounced off the escalator and fell onto the ground.
Ermac floated down to him and said, "The emperor will have your soul."
"Yeah? Come and get it!" Stryker used all of his special moves at least 10 times and defeated Ermac. He looked at him and said, "I think I'll be keeping my soul."
"I have been searching for you, Kurtis Stryker." a voice said, Stryker looked at the top of the escalator to see Nightwolf, Discord, the Mane 7, Spike, Zecora, Ed, Cordelia, Parry, and Parria. He pointed his gun at them.
"Well, you found me! Who are you?" Stryker asked.
"I am Nightwolf. Lord Raiden is gathering Earth's defenders. You are among them."
Zecora looked at Stryker and said, "This invasion is not right. Until it is over, we all must fight!"
"What the hell are you talking about?" Stryker asked.
"Raiden leads Earth's defense against these Outworld rivals. He is our best hope for survival."
"Yeah, well. 'Earthrealm Defender' is about ten steps above my pay grade."
"I see you doubt yourself, even after your victories. Come."
Stryker lowered his gun and ran up the bridge. "What?" Stryker said as he noticed Kabal's body was gone."Where is he? Medevac hasn't been here."
"Perhaps he has gone to find help." Nightwolf wondered.
"Naw. He was way to banged up. Someone took him."
Rainbow Dash looked at Stryker and said, "We gotta get everyone to evacuate."
"I agree. I hope this doesn't mean what I think it means." Twilight said.
In Shang Tsung's Flesh Pits, Kano got surgical tools and did surgery on Kabal, and put a mask on him. Kabal woke up to see Kano.
"Easy there, mate. You've had a rough one." Kano said upon Kabal awakening.
"Kano?" Kabal asked. "Is that... you?"
"In the flesh." he chuckled.
"I was... on fire..."
"Burned to a crisp you were. Good thing I found ya."
Kabal tried to take off the mask. "I'm hideous. I'm like the Purge version of Darth Vader!"
"Shang Tsung's magic healed the rest of ya. But your lungs? Yeesh."
"Take it off."
"Can't. It's permanent."
"What?"
"No mask, no breathing."
"I'm... a freak." Kabal said as he got up.
Kano had two hook swords in his hands and offered them to Kabal. "Go on. Give 'em a whirl."
"I don't use those anymore."
"Yeah, you're all proper police now. The Black Dragon ain't the same without you, mate. You should come back. We're in the money on this war."
"You sold those monsters their firepower."
"Guilty as charged."
"This is all YOUR fault!"
"What're you on about, eh?" Kano said, dropping the hook swords. "You're here, ain't ya?"
"I should be dead! Now YOU'RE gonna be!" Kabal shot Kano with pink energy balls until he was beaten. He looked at the Cyborg and said, "Now how do I get out of here?"
"Not so keen on being dead now, are ya?" Kano said.
Kabal grabbed the hook swords. "How do I get outta here?" he asked again.
Kano chuckled and said, "Good luck. No one gets outta Outworld with Shao Kahn's say-so."
"Outworld? Shao Kahn?" Kabal said as he threatened Kano with a hook sword.
"Shao Kahn's the big boss 'round here... and soon, Earth's new master."
"Where is he?" Kabal asked, moving the hook sword's blade close to his neck.
"Don't bother. You can't get near him."
"No. But I'm guessing you can."
In the throne room, Mileena, Tarkatans, and Cyber Lin Kuei ninjas appeard from a portal, holding Motaro's dead body.
"What is this?!" Shao Kahn asked in anger.
"Raiden has killed Motaro." Mileena explained.
"That's him? On the throne?" Kabal asked.
"You're a right genius, you are." Kano said.
"It's no great matter." Sindel said as she walked up. "I will go to Earthrealm to finish Motaro's work."
"Yes. Shang Tsung. Queen Chrysalis." the emperor called out.
"Yes, Emperor?" The shapeshifters said at the same time.
"The empress requires something of you." Shao Kahn used his magic to suck up Shang's souls and Chrissy's love. Shang began to disappear, but Chrysalis wasn't vanishing.
"What are you doing?" Chrissy asked.
"See there? I'm thinking he's a bit much for--" Kano was interrupted by Kabal knocking him out with his own knife.
"I can take him." Kabal stated.
Shao Kahn blasted the power of the souls and love into Sindel. Kabal walked up to the emperor, but Noob Saibot teleported in front of him, and Mileena walked up to him.
"No one attacks the emperor!" Mileena demanded.
Kabal repeatedly stabbed Mileena and Noob in the shoulders with his hook swords. Once they were knocked out, Kabal looked at them and said to himself, "And I thought I was a freak." He was then surrounded by Tarkatans and Cyber Lin Kuei ninjas.
"Quan Chi! Seal the portal!" Shao Kahn told the albino sorcerer.
Kabal said, "Time to go." as he sprinted past the guards, stopping at he portal. "Huh...?" Trixie was about to shoot him with a magic blast, but she was too late as Kabal jumped through the portal. He was back at the streets. He rolled over and got back up. "This speed's incredible! Guess it's a side affect of the Outworld magic."
"You are not authorized for portal use." a voice said.
"Yeah? Says who?" Kabal turned around to see Cyber Sub-Zero.
"Sub-Zero. Unit L-K-five-two-O." The cyborg introduced himself.
"You say that like it means something."
"As you will soon discover."
Kabal dashed into the cyborg and uppercut him when he was spinning. After he was defeated. Kabal looked at him and told him, "Ha! Not as cool as you thought."
Sheeva then walked up to Kabal and asked, "Why do you turn on your brother, Lin Kuei?"
"That is not my brother. He's machine. I'm human." Kabal explained.
"You do not appear human."
"Don't let the mask fool ya." Kabal threw his hook swords at Sheeva as she was hit by every oneuntil she was defeated. Kabal looked at the female and said, "Starting to feel like the old days. Only faster."
"Glad to hear that, buddy." said Rainbow Dash, who appeared along with the rest of the gang, Smoke, and Raiden.
"Sub-Zero!" Smoke called out to his friend.
"You have great power indeed, Kabal." Raiden said to Kabal.
"Wait." Kabal remembered. "You're the lightning guy. You helped Stryker. Stryker! Is he--"
"He is safe. He has joined us in the fight against Shao Kahn. We would welcome your aid also."
"Sub-Zero!" Smoke called out again.
"That which made him Sub-Zero no longer exists." Raiden explained.
"He is my friend. What they did to him. It is... hideous."
"You're right. We gotta help him if we can." Kabal said as he and Smoke carried Cyber Sub-Zero to the temple.
Twilight looked at Kabal and said, "I think I can erase his cyber memory."
"I hope you know what you're doing." Spike responded.
In the temple, everyone against the ruler of 3 worlds was there. Jax was back with a pair of robotic arms.
"That's it. Here goes nothing." Jax said as he finished Cyber Sub-Zero's programming.
"Are you certain this will work?" Smoke asked.
"Hell no! I've never done this before. It's not like there's a manual."
"Sub-Zero? Can he hear me?" Smoke asked.
"He should."
"Sub-Zero?"
"Yes, Smoke." Said the cyborg.
"How do you feel?" The cyborg woke up. "What is it?"
"I remember..." Cyber Sub-Zero got up. "The things I have done for Shao Kahn." Smoke put his hand on his shoulder. "He cannot be allowed to merge the realms."
"Haokah, how can Sub-Zero best help us?" Nightwolf asked.
"I do not know." Raiden answered. "My attempts to alter the future have had negative consequences. Sub-Zero should never have undergone this transformation. Enlisting him may either divert the flow of time."
"We need intel, right? Let's send him back to Outworld undercover." Stryker suggested.
"Great idea! They'll never know he's back to normal." Twilight stated.
"They will be unaware of my defection. I could decieve them." Cyber Sub-Zero said.
In the emperor's throne room, Tarkatans and cyber Lin Kuei ninjas were preparing for the invasion. Cyber Sub-Zero walked out of the portal.
"Earthrealm is finished. It will not be missed." Cyrax told Sektor and Noob.
"Very well." Sektor said.
"You will return." Noob said as he and Cyrax left. Cyber Sub-Zero walked up to Sektor.
"You report late. Where is the intruder?" Sektor asked.
"I killed him in Earthrealm." Cyber Sub-Zero responded.
"He should have been saved for interrogation."
"He was formidable. I had no choice."
"Follow me. We must lead a new mission." Sektor said as he and Cyber Sub-Zero walked through the portal. It led the two cyborgs to the subway.
"What mission brings us here?" The blue cyborg asked.
"I have scanned your neural net, Five-Two-Oh. Your neuromodulators have been recalibrated." Sektor stated.
"Impossible."
"The experience has been deleted from your system. Remove your access panel." Sektor tries to open it, but Cuber Sub-Zero punched him as he fell back. The red cyborg got up and said, "Your porgramming has been corrupted."
"My soul was corrupted. Now it is cleansed." Cyber Sub-Zero shot ice bombs at Sektor and froze him. Once he was defeated, the blue cyborg told him, "Artificial enhancements are no substitute for the human soul." He accessed Sektor's mainframe. He hacked the system and learned Sektor's orders. He was to escort prisoners to the cementary. "Thank you, Sektor." Cyber Sub-Zero said as he began to head out.
At the clock tower, 8 soldiers were chained up. Goro and Kintaro were watching over them, and Kano shot them with his laser eye as he laughed. "Oy! Run about will ya!" Cyber-Sub-Zero entered the clock tower. "Finally!" Kano said. "Come on! We gotta get 'em to the grave yard at St. Dominic's. On your feet! All of you!"
"For what purpose?" asked the cyborg.
"Don't care, really. So long as I get paid." Kano told him.
"He said on your feet!" Kintaro demanded.
"C'mon. Up." Goro ordered the soldiers.
"Get up." Kintaro said as he and Goro were frozen for a short time.
"Hey! What're y--" Kano said as he was frozen for a long time.
"I will help you." Cyber Sub-Zero told the soldiers. He turned the chains into ice and destroyed them, freeing the soilders. Goro and Kintaro began to break free as they moved their fingers. "Go! All of you! Now!"
"Let's go! C'mon!" A solider said as they left. Goro and Kintaro broke free.
"Your treachery will be punished!" Kintaro said in anger.
Cyber Sub-Zero kept on freezing the two with Ice Parry. Once they were knocked out, he said, "All those teeth and claws, yet still overmatched." The ground began to shake, the bells started to ring, and the soldiers were thrown out. "Behind me!" Cyber Sub-Zero said to the soldiers as they obeyed. They saw Ermac floating towards them. "Come no further, fiend of Outworld!" After defeating Ermac with his Ice Sword, he looked at the fallen Outworlder and said, "You are not so fearsome."
The soldiers went around the cyborg. "Thanks. I thought we were done."
"I must go. I need to investigate the graveyard." Cyber Sub-Zero stated.
"We'd go with, but we need to return to our unit." another soldier said.
"That is for the best." the cyborg agreed.
"Good luck, man." the first soldier said.
"He ain't gonna need luck." the second soldier told him.
At the graveyard, Noob Saibot was drawing two green fire lines across the ground, while Quan Chi was casting a spell on more captured soldiers. Cyber Sub-Zero was hiding behind a gravestone, watching this. "This is Sub-Zero." he said through the wrist communicator. "I have encountered Quan Chi. He seems to be casting a spell." Raiden had a vision of the Soulnado growing huge, terrorizing New York City.
"Raiden, what is it? What did you see?" Nightwolf asked.
"One of Shao Kahn's Soulnados, on a scale I thought unimaginable. All of Earthrealm's souls imprisoned... absorbed by Shao Kahn, multiplying his power!" Raiden responded.
"At this rate, if this keeps up, he'll be more powerful than the Cape!" Ed said in fear.
"That is what Sub-Zero has found?" Nightwolf asked.
Raiden looked at his amulet as it cracked again. "No matter my efforts, the future remains in peril. How could I have failed Earthrealm?" Raiden asked.
"Do not lose faith in the spirits, Raiden. They will guide you. Protect you. Sub-Zero. We will disrupt the Soulnado. I will be there momentarily."
"Hurry. The spell appears to be nearly complete." Cyer Sub-Zero walked out of his hiding spot and into the clear.
"Who is that?" Quan Chi asked.
"The one Kano warned about. He is mine." Noob said as he walked up to Cyber Sub-Zero. "You. You are not worthy of the name Sub-Zero."
"Who are you to judge?" he asked.
"I wore those colors before you."
"Bi-Han?!"
"Yes, Kuai Liang. It is i. Quan Chi restored me."
"Restored? You and I both. We are flawed copies of our former selves."
"I have no flaws. Quan Chi has perfected me."
"For what end? To serve the Netherrealm and Outworld?"
"It suits my purpose."
"But brother, we are--"
"We share blood. We are not brothers."
"Then I will not regret your defeat." The two brothers fought to the death. In the end, Cyber Sub-Zero defeated his brother, looked at him and said, "You are right.
We are not brothers."
Quan Chi has finished the spell, and all of the soldiers' souls began to get absorbed into the Soulnado as it began to grow.
Nightwolf has arrived at the graveyard. "Go! Your soul is not safe!" he said as Cyber Sub-Zero left.
"Earthrealm's fate is sealed, Nightwolf!" Quan Chi yelled.
"Not yet! We fight until the end!" Nightwolf said. Quan Chi used a spell an Nightwolf to make him walk to the sorcerer. Nightwolf kept reflecting Quan Chi's skulls back at him. Once the fight was over Nightwolf looked at the defeated Sorcer and said, "Your time is over."
Just then, Noob Saibot recovered from the fight with his former brother. The two fought until Nightwolf punched Noob into the Soulnado, pulling him in. It then started turning from green to purple. Quan Chi got back on his feet. Before he could get killed, he opened a portal and escaped. Nightwolf made a magic shield to protect himself. The Soulnado grew into a portal and destroyed everything at the intermediate radius of the graveyard. Nightwolf, however, was unharmed. He sat up and said, "Pilamaya."
Back at the temple, everyone was sitting or standing.
"But how do we know?" asked Sonya. "Raiden could be having visions of possible futures, not the future."
"Sonya's right." Jax said as he was looking at his new arms. "Was I supposed to have my arms replaced with these? Or was it caused by interfering with the timeline?"
"My head hurts just thinking about it." Johnny said.
"You look really badass with them." Pinkie cut him off.
"This isn't helpful. We cannot second-guess our decisions." Kitana said, turning to her step-uncle. "Raiden, what are your thoughts?" For a moment there was silence. "Raiden?"
"Yes, that is best." Raiden responded.
"What's our next objective?" Cyber Sub-Zero asked.
"Nightwolf!" Liu Kang said as everyone looked to see Nightwolf has returned.
"It is done. Earthrealm's souls are safe." Nightwolf said.
"Saving the souls is all for the best. But until this war is over, we must not rest!" Zecora told Nightwolf.
Raiden looked to notice his amulet has cracked yet again. "What?! No!" Raiden said. "How is it not enough?!" he slammed a palm down on the stone table. "I must speak with the Elder Gods. Shao Kahn's violation must be punished."
"But the battle is joined here, in Earthrealm!" Liu said to the other thunder god.
"We cannot win without the Elder Gods."
"But Master--"
"Liu Kang... close as a shadow..." Johnny said.
"Nightwolf, you will lead until we return." Raiden addressed the Native American.
"As you wish, haokah." Nightwolf said as Liu Kang and Raiden left with a flash of lightning.
"Well, now what?" Stryker asked. "Standing around here won't do us any good."
"We should start baking a victory cake after the invasion!" Pinkie said.
"Not now, Pinkie." Cyber Sub-Zero stated. "We need to focus on-" There was a moment of silence. "Wait." He turned around. "The Lin Kuei! They surround us!" Just then, an army of Lun Kuei Cyborgs appeared out of nowhere.
"So much for standing around..." Stryker said.
"Attack!" Nightwolf commanded.
Applejack hit a Lin Kuei cyborg with the weapon she got from an executioner in Dead Pool and said, "See, girls? I told y'all it may come in handy!"
Cyrax punched Nightwolf and hit him in the face. He recovered and kicked the yellow cyborg back. "My speed and skill are beyond you." Cyrax said.
Nightwolf kept shooting Cyrax with a bow and arrows until he was defeated. He looked at Cyrax and said, "Mere speed and skill will not win this war, Cyrax."
Sektor and Smoke were fighting on the stairs, as Sektor grabbed Smoke's elbow and said, "You are weak, Smoke." before pushing him down. "Now do you understand? The power of the Grand Master's vision? Just then, Nightwolf threw a glowing green axe at Sektor.
"You are no match for the power of the spirits." Nightwolf said. He kept on hitting Sektor with axes. Once he was defeated, he looked at the red cyborg and said,
"Perhaps even you can be saved."
The Earthrealmers and Equestrians have finished defeating all of the Lin Kuei cyborgs. "Y'all like that?" Applejack said as she kept bucking a Lin Kuei cyborg in the groin. Cyber Sub-Zero checked a Lin Kuei cyborg to make sure it was dead.
Kitana walked up to Nightwolf who asked, "What is it?"
"Mother..." Kitana said. Just then, Sindel walked into the temple, letting out a sonic scream. Sonya and Stryker were pushed to the stairs, Cyber Sub-Zero generated an ice shield, Jade tried to block it with her staff, the ponies and Spike covered their ears, Johnny held onto one of Jax's arms, and Nightwolf was unaffected.
"Come forward, if you dare." said Sindel. "I will finish what the Lin Kuei could not." Everyone came together.
"Y'all ready for this?" asked Applejack.
"Let's do this." said Jax.
"Attack!" Nightwolf said. He got out his axe, but she punched him in the face. Johnny tried next, but he was elbowed and punched in the chin. Kabal was kicked to the ground and Sindel's heel stepped on his respirator and laughed. Stryker was next, but he was punched in the face as blood spurred out, killing him instantly. The Mane 7, Spike, Zecora, Discord, Ed and Cordelia had Sindel surrounded and tackled her like in football, but there was an explosion, and Sindel knocked all of them out.
"She's too strong!" Starlight said.
"We have to keep trying!" Rainbow Dash told her.
Cyber Sub-Zero ran up, but was punched and uppercut. Sindel grabbed Jax's arms and kicked him in the neck. Smoke attempted to kick Sindel, but she grabbed his leg, kneed him in the groin, caught him in a sleeper hold, and snapped his neck. Sonya ran up but was kicked and KO'd. Sindel grabbed Jade's hand and punched her twice. Kitana tried to kill her mother, but Sindel grabbed Kitana's neck, and kicked Jade. Sindel then went Mola Ram on her and ripped out her organs before throwing it to the floor. Kitana tried to attack her mother again, but she kicked her to the floor.
"Mother, please!" Kitana said as she got on her knees.
"I am no longer your mother." Sindel said.
"Mother, this is not your way. Shao Kahn has corrupted you!"
"Shao Kahn has resurrected me! You have betrayed him. Embraced a pathetic cause."
"Remember Edenia, mother. Remember your rule before Shao Kahn's invasion!"
"Quiet, child. It is time for you to join your friends." Sindel said as she began to drain Kitana's soul.
"Monster!" Nightwolf said as he got up.
"Still alive? No matter. Soon you will reunite with your ancestors."
Nightwolf gave Sindel everything he got and eventually defeated her. He looked at her and said, "Now Sindel. Face the Spirits' judgement.
Sindel got back up and laughed. Nightwolf began a chant as a light surrounded him and he shot lightning at her.
Just then, Sonya groaned and said, "Raiden... Raiden, where are you?"
In the temple of the Elder Gods, Raiden and Liu Kang were standing. "Elder Gods, I beseech you. Earthrealm is in danger." Raiden said.
"We are aware of your plight, Raiden." they all said at the same time.
"Then you must intervene on Earthrealm's behalf."
"We cannot."
"But Shao Kahn... Liu Kang has bested him twice, yet he still--"
"Shao Kahn has not violated the rules of Mortal Kombat."
"What?! He invades Earthrealm as we speak!"
"Invasion itself is not a transgression. It is the merger of realms that is proscribed."
"A distinction without a difference! Innocents are dying at the hands of Outworld!"
"It is regrettable. But the Mortal Kombat tournaments are not intended to prevent certain outcomes. They are intended only to maintain balance among the realms."
"Please, you must--"
"We have spoken." The Elder Gods disappeared.
"The last doors are closing. We are nearly trapped." Raiden said.
Back in the temple, Nightwolf was knocked onto the alter, destroying it. Sindel grabbed Nightwolf with her hair.
"Victory is mine, Shaman." Sindel said as she began to steal his soul.
"Not if I... take it... from.. you." Nightwolf said. He did another chant as a blue light appeared around him. Liu and Raiden appeared back at the temple with a flash of lightning.
"By the Elder Gods!" Liu said upon seing Sindel and Nightwolf. They began to run as the light grew brighter. Liu and Raiden protected their eyes. Both Nightwolf and Sindel disappeared together as the light faded.
"Liu Kang..." Kitana said weakly. The rest of the ponies, and Spike walked up.
"Kitana!" Liu said as he ran up to her.
"Liu Kang... You were right. I wish we had met... under... different circumstances."
"Kitana! Don't leave!" Liu said, but it was too late. Kitana stopped breathing as Liu got on his knees. "They are dead."
"Liu Kang, I--" Raiden tried to speak.
"We abandoned them, and they're dead."
"My heart, too, is heavy with their sacrifice."
"Their deaths achieved nothing!" Raiden looked at his amulet as it cracked once more. "What is next, Raiden? Tell me the future! How do we honor their 'sacrifice'?"
"I climbed to heaven, now I must plunge into the depths. I will go to Quan Chi. Ally our realm with his against the forces of Outworld."
"What?!" Liu was shocked. "Grovel before Quan Chi?! What will he demand? What price will be paid?"
"Would any price be too high to save Earthrealm and Equestria?"
"I had prayed it not true. But you have gone mad, Raiden. Your visions. They are nothing. Delusions of an addled mind."
"Liu Kang, please."
Liu saw Johnny and Sonya get up.
"Enough." Liu said. "I must help the wounded. Leave on your hopeless quest." He walked up to Johnny and Sonya.
"May the Elder Gods protect you." Raiden said. "Twilight, come with me."
Twilight Sparkle walked up to Raiden and said, "I have a bad feeling about this." The two teleported in a flash of lightning.
Raiden and Twilight have arrived in the Netherrealm. "Quan Chi! Quan Chi!" Raiden called out. Just then, Scorpion appeared. "It disappoints me to see you here."
"Save your pity." said Scorpion.
"Twilight and I will have an audience with Quan Chi."
"You may address me. I will inform him."
"Is this why you chose to not to save your family and clan? To maintain your place at his feet?"
"Do not talk of my family, Raiden!"
"Fetch your master, Scorpion. We must speak with him. NOW."
"You speak only with me."
Raiden and Twilight surrounded Scorpion. Raiden shot lightning from his hands and Twilight used magic to slam Scorpion onto the ground multiple times. Once the fight was over, Raiden said, "Now, Scorpion. Fetch your master."
Scorpion teleported away in a burst of flames as Quan Chi appeared in his place. "You seek an audience." the sorcerer said.
"I seek cooperation. Between Earthrealm and the Netherrealm." Raiden stated.
"Losing the battle, are you?"
"We will prevail. But with the Netherrealm fighting at our side--"
"You lie poorly, Raiden. Earthrealm's defenses are overwhelmed. You have mere hours."
"Name your terms."
"What do you offer?"
"I offer... I offer the souls of Earthrealm warriors who die in this conflict." Quan Chi laughed. "They would agree."
"You are cavalier with other men's souls."
"Not just others! I offer my own soul as well. If I die, you will have it."
Twilight gasped and said, "Raiden, no! Don't do this!"
"How noble, Raiden. Yet utterly pointless." Quan Chi waved his hand and summoned Cyber Sub-Zero, Jade, Nightwolf, Sindel, Stryker, Jax, Smoke, Kung Lao, Kitana and Kabal.
"No!" said the other Thunder God.
"You see, their souls are already mine." Quan Chi stated. "Shao Kahn's payment for Netherrealm allegiance."
"No! This was not meant to be!"
"Earthrealm has lost, Raiden. Now so shall you and Twilight. Finish them both." He told Jax, Stryker, and Kabal.
"As you command, my master." Jax said.
"Raiden, leave Quan Chi to me!" Twilight said as she fought the albino sorcerer.
Raiden defeated the first three revenants and said, "May the Elder Gods watch over you."
Twilight slapped Quan Chi in the face with her hoof and said, "Had enough?"
"The Elder Gods cannot help them. Their souls are mine." Quan Chi told the next three revenants, "Kitana. Nightwolf. Kung Lao."
"You sealed our fate in this place, Thunder God." Kitana said. "You have condemned us all."
Raiden defeated them and said, "Curse you, Quan Chi."
"Shao Kahn's victory is nearly complete." Quan Chi stated. "Soon, he will arrive in Earthrealm.
"No. The Elder Gods cannot allow it." Raiden said.
"The Elder Gods are toothless. Your worlds are near destruction. Yet they do not act."
"They must! Only through Mortal Kombat may Shao Kahn merge the realms! Lest he face the judgement of the Elder Gods..." Raiden realized what he said. "Wait a minute! Twilight! That's it!"
"What's it?" Twilight asked.
"Lest he face the judgement of the Elder Gods! He must win!"
"It is you who face judgement, Raiden." Quan Chi said.
"Thank you, Quan Chi. We now know what must be done." Raiden said as he and Twilight disappeared in a flash of lightning.
The two reappeared on the roof of a building and walked up to a portal. Liu Kang and the rest of the ponies took the stairs up.
"Back from the Netherrealm empty-handed, I see." Liu said.
"Twilight! Raiden! You're just in time!" said Applejack.
"Liu Kang! Liu Kang, I now realize what we must do. We must allow Shao Kahn to merge the realms."
"What?!" said Spike.
"That is insane!" Liu added.
"The Elder Gods forbid it without victory in Mortal Kombat." Raiden told everyone. "When he does, the Elder Gods' fury will fall upon him. Defeating Shao Kahn before the merge is but temporary. He will return, bringing Armageddon. I have foreseen it!"
"Enough, Raiden!" Liu said. Everyone saw Shao Kahn moving his hand into Earthrealm. "He is here." Liu started to run up to the emperor.
"No! Do as I say!" Raiden grabbed his arm. "Have faith in the Elder Gods. Have faith in me." Liu still wanted to fight but Raiden grabbed him again. "Liu Kang! I cannot let you fight Shao Kahn!"
"Then you are my enemy!" Liu said.
Raiden and Liu fought as Twilight tried to stop them from fighting. After Liu was beaten, Raiden said, "Liu Kang, do not interfere!"
Liu got back up as Shao Kahn was almost out of the portal. Johnny and Sonya have arrived.
"Liu Kang, stop!" Raiden said as Liu tried to run to him, but he shot lightning to block Liu. His fist had a flame covering it.
"Liu Kang! Raiden! No!" Johnny said as he and Sonya ran up to him.
"Enough of your madness! If you must die, so be it!" Liu yelled.
Raiden tried to protect himself but accidentally electrocuted Liu. He got zapped and burned together. "By the gods, no!" Raiden said. Everyone walked up to Liu. "No. This was not meant to happen."
"What did you do?!" Johnny asked.
"Liu Kang, forgive me..." Raiden said.
"You... have killed us... all." Liu said weakly.
"Uh, guys?" Twilight said as Shao Kahn was out of the portal as he walked up to Raiden.
"C'mon! It's up to us!" Sonya said as she and Johnny tried to stop him.
"No, guys, no!" Starlight tried to warn them, but it was too late when Shao Kahn used his dark magic to push them away. Raiden bowed to the emperor.
"Ah, Raiden. You have come to your senses." Said the emperor.
"Earthrealm's citizens suffer. Further resistance serves no purpose." Raiden said.
"All these ages you have fought me. You denied me my rightful claim. Not this time." He uppercut Raiden as he landed on his back. Things began to look a lot like his vision. He walked up to Raiden. "The Elder Gods fear me now!" He laughed as he picked Raiden up. "Their pathetic Mortal Kombat shackles me no longer." He threw the other thunder god to the edge of the building, where he fell and his amulet broke into a million pieces in slow motion. Shao Kahn pulled out his hammer. "They masquarade as dragons... but are mere toothless worms." He stepped on Raiden as he rolled over. "I know you can feel it. It is the end of all things." A green smoke appeared around him.
"Elder Gods, where are you? Why do you forsake me?" Raiden asked as he was grabbed again.
"Your time has passed." He threw Raiden again. "Ages wasted in foolish resistance. I have won."
"Yes... you have won."
"Now Raiden. Your world ends." He raised his hammer and was about to kill Raiden when golden lightning struck.
"What the hay?" Asked AJ. The Elder Gods appeared as dragons, and swirled around Raiden, revitalizing him as his hat was back on his head.
"You violate our will, Shao Kahn." Raiden said with the Elder Gods. "You merge realms without victory in Mortal Kombat. Our penalty is clear." They shot a golden light beam at the emperor, but it had no effect. Shao Kahn laughed. The Mane 7 and Spike ran up to Raiden's sides. The hammer disappeared.
"An anemic effort for ineffectual deities. Today I become THE Elder God!" Shao Kahn yelled.
"Alright, everypony. We're here to save Earthrealm and Equestria. Let's take him down!" said Raiden.
Raiden, the Mane 7, and Spike fought Shao Kahn. He threw a spear at Starlight, who turned it into a bunch of colorful dust as it disappeared. Once he was beaten, he got up and said, "You never underestimate the power of Shao Kahn."
"Oh yeah?" Twilight said. "Well, now you're about to feel the power of friendship!" The Mane 7 and Raiden put their powers together, as they shot a rainbow colored beam at him.
"NO!" yelled Shao Kahn. "My magic powers... gone forever!" The Elder Gods ate his skin, as another rainbow beam shot into the sky, and it began to turn from red to blue. Raiden's amulet got put back together and the cracks disappeared.
"It is over." Raiden said as he put his amulet back on. Johnny and Sonya helped him up. "But only at the gravest of costs." They walked up to Liu. "So many are gone. Their light has sunk into the earth. I am responsible for their loss."
"You did what you has to do. to protect Earthrealm. Losses in war... are... are inevitable." Sonya said.
"Come. Let us tend the fallen. Then we must help our realm rebuild. Our work has only begin." Raiden said as everyone left in a flash of lightning.
Just then, Quan Chi appeared and picked up Shao Kahn's helmet as a hologram of Shinnok appeared. "Your plan worked to perfection, Lord Shinnok." the sorcerer said.
"Shao Kahn was blinded by rage." Shinnok stated. "How easily was he convinced the the Elder Gods would ignore his merging the realms."
"Yet the thunder god still lives."
"No matter. Neither Outworld nor Earthrealm can withstand the Netherrealm's onslaught. It is time. Soon I will be free. Earthrealm, Equestria, and Outworld will be ours."
