The Mane Six get married and have kids! The only problem is that their kids are enemies. So when Queen Chrysalis' daughter kidnaps their parents, the children must work together to save their family.
Colorful, Sugar, Firework, Harmony, Cider, and Diamond are enemies. Always have been, always will be. But one day after school, Colorful receives a haunting note saying that her and her enemies' family have been kidnapped by Queen Chrysalis' daughter!
Will the fillies be able to work together to get their parents? Or will they continue to fight forever?
Thank you to my wonderful cover artist, Aeluna, for making the cover art!
"Good morning, Colorful!" Rainbow Dash woke up her daughter, Colorful Dash.
Colorful yawned. "Good morning, Mom," she said grumpily.
"Color, it's your first day of fourth grade! You got to get ready!" Rainbow said.
Colorful groaned. "I'm tired!"
Rainbow got strict. "If you're not downstairs eating breakfast with your father and me in five minutes, you'll experience what life as a Wonderbolt is really like!"
Rainbow and her husband, Soarin, were both in an elite flying squad called the Wonderbolts, since they were both talented flyers.
Colorful quickly flew downstairs. When she got there, toast and butter was on the table. She took a slice and ate it.
"You excited about school?" Soarin asked his daughter.
"Yeah, I guess. As long as they aren't in my class." Colorful said.
Soarin and Rainbow exchanged nervous looks. Colorful totally despised Rainbow's friends' children. But Soarin and Rainbow knew. They were going to be in Colorful's class. But they didn't tell her.
In kindergarten, the girls had gotten into a fight and were never friends again. But when Rainbow and Soarin broke the news that they would be in her first, second, and third grade classes, Colorful had a meltdown.
"Ha, ha. Yeah. Oh, look at the time. Colorful, it's time for you to go." Rainbow said, handing the filly her blue backpack.
Colorful flew to school.
"I'm hoping she'll survive this year," Soarin said.
Princess Firework Sparkle woke up in her soft canopy bed.
She put on her tiara and headed downstairs to the gorgeous dining room.
The chefs had prepared a hearty breakfast.
"Good morning, Firework," Queen Twilight Sparkle said to her daughter.
An orange Pegasus stallion with a blue mane and tail and light blue eyes came down to join the two.
"Hello dears," King Flash Sentry, Firework's father and Twilight's husband, greeted.
"Well, first day of school, Firework. You're going to learn so much about long division, multi-step word problems, flying practice in gym class..." Twilight blabbed.
"That's enough, honey. Don't pressure her." Flash stopped his wife.
The chefs gave the family their breakfast and sat down at the long table.
"Mom, Dad, you need to transfer me to Tried and True Royals Elementary School," Firework pleaded.
"Why?" Flash inquired.
"Because it has strict rules that it's only for royalty and Sugar, Cider, Harmony, Diamond, and Colorful aren't royal," Firework explained to her parents.
"You girls need to get over that incident. It happened in kindergarten!" Twilight said.
"And, Firework, nice try, but you're not transferring to that school," Flash smirked.
The Alicorn filly moaned.
She looked at the clock and realized it was time for her to go.
Firework grabbed her roller backpack, went outside, and went into the royal carriage.
As the carriage left, Flash and Twilight waved at her, fake smiles plastered on their faces.
She put on her usual cowgirl hat and then went to breakfast.
"Good mornin', Aunt Apple Bloom! Aunt Cheerilee! Uncle Mac! Mom! Dad!" Cider greeted her aunts, uncle, mother, Applejack, and father, Pear.
"Cider, you're happy today!" Pear exclaimed.
"I'm just excited!" Cider insisted.
"Here's yerr apple slices," Applejack said, handing her a plate with 20 apple slices.
Cider instantly gulped it up.
"Well, ya sure were hungry," Apple Bloom said.
"Eeyup," Big Mac agreed.
"Hello, Cider!" a pony from behind the Earth Pony filly happily chirped.
It was Cheerilee and Big Mac's daughter, Joy. Joy was 25-years-old and would be Cider's teacher.
"I can't believe my own cousin is gonna be my teacher!" Cider exclaimed.
"Yep, and I know you'll be in your class. Color..." Joy began.
At the word "color", Applejack, Apple Bloom, Big Mac, Pear, and Cheerilee signaled for Joy to stop.
Luckily, Cider wasn't listening; but they weren't taking any chances.
Joy abruptly remembered what happened when they told Cider the year before, and the year before that, and the year before that.
"Um, never mind. You need to find out yourself. Oh, look at the time; it's time for us to go!" Joy said, giving Cider her orange satchel and grabbing her own lesson plans.
The bell rang at Twin Oaks Elementary School. All the students went inside the building and into their classrooms.
Colorful, Sugar, Diamond, Firework, Cider, and Harmony came in together and sat at their desks. When they noticed that they sat next to each other, they shrieked.
“You idiots are in my class again?!” Colorful yelled.
“No!!! Not the party poopers!” Sugar screamed.
“No! Not the no-sense-in-fashion group!” Diamond shrieked.
“The Magic Police? In my class? Don’t worry, I’ll stop using my ‘goody four hooves’ magic!” Firework shot at them.
“Howdy, you fancy-pants’! Just because I’m not like y’all don’t mean ya had to tease me ‘bout it!” Cider said.
“Go away! I never want to see you five again!” Harmony hollered.
“Girls, stop!” Joy said. At the teacher’s command, the six stopped arguing.
“Now we will start by introducing each other,” Joy said.
After everyone went, Joy decided to see who had earned their cutie mark and congratulated them.
During reading, Joy read a passage to them and put her 24 students into four groups to answer questions about the text. Sugar, Firework, Harmony, Cider, Colorful, and Diamond were together and all they did was glare at each other.
In writing, the students had to edit another pony's writing. When the teacher partnered them up, she put Firework and Colorful together, Diamond and Cider with each other, and partnered up Sugar and Harmony.
At lunch, the fillies teased one another for what they ate and did.
In math, they learned about the order of operations and PEMDAS (Parentheses, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction). Instead of putting "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Starry" they scrawled down, "I hate the ponies sitting next to me."
While in science, learning about the solar system was really hard when the six fillies were arguing about anything they could think of.
For social studies, the ponies glared at each other and silently wished to be at a different school.
Finally, the day was over. The six fillies glared at each other as they left Twin Oaks Elementary.
They just wanted to vent the whole problem to their parents.
Colorful flew to her cloud home and went inside. It was dark and quiet. “Mom! Dad!” she called out.
They’re probably in Wonderbolt practice. Colorful thought.
She left the cloud house and flew to Cloudsdale.
She flew to the office of their coach, Spitfire.
“Hi, Ms. Spitfire,” Colorful said.
“Hey there, Colorful!” she greeted.
“Are my parents here?” Colorful asked.
“No. They haven’t showed up either.” Spitfire said.
“Okay. Thank you.” Colorful said.
When she got back to her home, there was a note on the kitchen table. It read:
Dear Colorful,
I have kidnapped your parents and your enemies’ parents (including Cider’s aunts, uncle, and cousin). If you ever want to see your parents again, you must work together with Sugar, Diamond, Firework, Cider, and Harmony. Good luck Have bad luck!
From, Queen Chrysalis’ daughter, Princess Cocoon.
Even though she didn’t want to, Colorful rushed to her enemies’ houses.
First stop: Sugar Pie’s house. Colorful knocked on the door. Sugar opened it.
“Well, look who it is. One of the party poopers.” Sugar scoffed.
Colorful ignored that comment. “Sugar, you need to listen. Our parents have been kidnapped and…” Colorful began.
“Kidnapped?! That’s why they’re not here! Let’s go!” Sugar said as she ran out the door.
Next stop: Diamond Pants’ mansion. Sugar rang the elegant doorbell.
When Diamond answered it, she shrieked. “Well, you ruffians must stay out here and not in this state-of-the-art mansion,” she said.
“What hospitality!” Colorful muttered under her breath.
Lucky for Colorful, Sugar explained it all.
“Why, we must save them. My mom has a photo shoot featuring her famous designs next week!” Diamond said.
Next stop: Firework Sparkle’s palace. Diamond knocked on the door.
Firework answered it. “If you three take a step near me, I will cast a spell that bounces you from here, Ponyville, to Las Pegasus!” she threatened.
That Alicorn is even more of a snob than Diamond! Colorful thought.
Sugar must’ve been thinking the same thing, because she groaned.
Diamond explained it. When it was explained, Firework joined them.
Next stop: Cider’s barn. Firework knocked on the barn door.
When Cider answered it, she groaned. “More phony hang outs? I’d rather watch trees grow.” she said rudely.
Firework quickly explained everything. Cider gasped and joined them.
Last stop: Harmony’s cottage.
When Harmony answered the door, she quickly slammed it shut and locked the door.
“Harmony, hear us out,” Cider begged.
“Fine, but make it quick,” Harmony said.
The five spilled everything. Harmony quickly went outside and joined them all.
The six fillies trotted around, unknown of where they were going.
“Guys, I think we need a map,” Firework said.
“Then use your fancy-shmancy magic to get us one,” Diamond retorted.
Firework scowled as she made one.
“There. Now what?” Sugar questioned.
“We follow it. Duh, you idiot.” Colorful slapped the pink filly's face with her tail.
"Hey!" Sugar said, offended.
"Uh, that's not so nice," Harmony squeaked.
"Says the girl who shut us out of her house!" Colorful glared at the Pegasus.
Firework studied the map, ignoring the three. “Hmm. We’re right here, in Ponyville. We need to take a right to Canterlot, go straight to Macintosh Mountains, go straight to get to the Sight of the Battle of Discord, and then go left to get to the Changeling Kingdom, AKA the Forest of Leota. Simple!”
“We should go then. We want to cover more ground, not stand here gawkin’.” Cider suggested.
Suddenly, Princess Celestia and her younger sister, Princess Luna, walked up to the six.
“Are you six alright?” Luna asked.
“Yeah, we’re fine,” Colorful answered.
Suddenly Celestia gasped. “Sister, these aren’t just any fillies. They're Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Queen Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, and Fluttershy’s children!” she said.
“Oh, we must get them inside!” Luna said as she grabbed Colorful, Sugar, and Diamond. Celestia grabbed Firework, Cider, and Harmony.
The princesses took the girls to the castle.
“You six must stay here until further notice,” Celestia insisted.
“But why?” Colorful inquired.
“Queen Chrysalis’ daughter, Princess Cocoon, sent her Changeling minions here and they destroyed Canterlot. It’ll be repaired, but we have reports that the Changelings are still out there. We sent all the ponies in Canterlot here until further notice.” Luna explained.
“We can help! Our moms saved Equestria for years!” Sugar said.
“I don’t know. You girls are still children.” Celestia thought about it.
“We’ll whip Changeling flank even if it’s risky!” Colorful declared.
The princesses sighed. “Okay. But the Royal Guards will keep watch of you.” Celestia gave in.
The six cheered as they left.
As the girls stepped out, the Changelings appeared. They took form of the fillies. The real six were frightened, but they fought as well as ever. They stuck together and fought with their own weapons.
Colorful flew up and kicked their flank.
Sugar got out a “party cannon” and fired it at them.
Diamond got out a bottle of Fiery Fabulousity Hairspray, a type of hairspray that her mother created, and shot it in their eyes.
Firework used her Alicorn magic to bounce them away.
Cider brought out apples and kicked them at them.
Harmony used her singing voice to almost rupture their ear drums, even though she was a talented singer.
After several minutes of it, the Changelings surrendered the battle. The citizens of Canterlot came out of the castle.
“Oh, thank you girls!” Celestia thanked.
“You’re welcome, Your Majesties,” Diamond curtsied. The other five did the same.
“Would you girls like to come to the 15th Annual Royal Dinner? As a thank you gift?” Luna offered.
“No, thank you. We have some business to take care of.” Harmony politely rejected.
After a hearty goodbye, the girls took off.
“Next stop: Macintosh Mountains,” Firework said, checking Canterlot off of the map.
“I’m Farmer Rustic. Can you girls help me?” Rustic asked.
“Of course,” Harmony said.
“Okay. These weeds won’t come out. I can’t have all my food gone for my family.” Rustic explained.
“We’ll help,” Sugar said.
“If I know a thing or two ‘bout weeds, it’s that they’re hard to get out. So, ya gotta put some elbow grease into it. By that I mean try harder.” Cider said as she tried at a weed. The other girls did the same and tugged as hard as they could.
“Hey, these weeds won’t come out,” Colorful said.
“It’s so hard! And dirty.” Diamond whined.
Rustic looked offended at Diamond’s retort. "Well excuse me,"
“Hmm, now that I look at it, these don’t look like weeds at all. They’re lil' black vines.” Cider examined.
She then gasped. "Aunt Apple Bloom, Uncle Mac, and Ma experienced these before. They said nothin' could get 'em out."
“Hmm. I know a spell to get them out! But I need everypony’s help. Colorful and Harmony, I need you two to fly around the weeds speedy fast.” Firework said.
Harmony and Colorful did that. A strong gust of wind flew by them (mainly because of Colorful's speed).
“Sugar and Cider, you two need to run alongside Colorful and Harmony. Again, run speedy fast!” Firework said.
Sugar and Cider ran, creating a stronger gust of wind. It was so strong that Diamond flew up.
“Firework, help!” she squealed.
Firework flew to Diamond.
“No. This is what needs to happen. You have to help me with the spell. Use your magic and when I get to three, you think the words, ‘Make these weeds come out!’” she explained.
“B-but…” Diamond stammered.
“Diamond, we have to do this. He may not let us pass until we do.” Firework yelled.
Diamond gulped, but finally gave in.
The two performed the spell phenomenally. When the weeds came out, everypony stopped.
They all collapsed to the ground, panting.
Rustic thanked the girls. “Thank you! You deserve some of this food!” he said, handing the girls fruits, vegetables, some tomato soup, chicken noodle soup, and vegetable soup.
“Where are you girls off to?” he asked.
“The Forest of Leota,” Firework answered.
Rustic shivered. “Do be careful,”
“Of course!” Harmony assured him as the girls headed for their next stop: The Sight of the Battle of Discord.
“Nice?! You’ve been here before?” Colorful asked in shock.
“Yes. With my mom. Mr. Discord’s a nice dragonaques,” Harmony explained.
“From what my mom has told me, he’s simply horrid,” Diamond said.
The others, excluding Harmony, nodded in agreement.
“Well, I’m not horrid,” a voice behind them said.
The fillies whirled around. Discord was right behind them!
“Hi, Mr. Discord!” Harmony said cheerfully.
“Hello, Harmony. How’s your mother?” Discord asked.
“She’s been kidnapped by Princess Cocoon. Colorful, Sugar, Diamond, Firework, and Cider are helping me, since their parents were kidnapped too.” Harmony answered.
“Hmm. I’ll let you go pass, but only because your mother is missing, Harmony.” Discord offered.
Colorful, Sugar, Diamond, Firework, and Cider looked offended.
“But, you have to figure out the source of the missing chaos! Princess Cocoon came and took it all away! Now everything is so… normal!” he shivered.
“Of course we’ll help!” Harmony said.
The other five quietly groaned, annoyed.
“Why were we out of all ponies picked to do this job?” Sugar moaned.
“Yes, indeed,” Diamond agreed.
“Well, how do we do this? Harmony, what was it like when you came here?” Firework questioned.
“Well, buildings flew, it rained chocolate milk, there were clouds made of cotton candy, it randomly became night and day, animals grew 10 feet tall, fruits on trees grew oversized…” Harmony listed.
“That’s it! We just need to be wild and crazy! Maybe the chaos will come back!” Sugar exclaimed.
“Okay then. Release the Sugar! And some sweets!” Cider yelled.
Colorful threw out some candy, cake, cupcakes, and all the rest of the sweets. Sugar came and ate it some of it, then went crazy!
“Here we are! The Changeling Kingdom!” Firework cheered.
“Great! Our parents will be home in time for dinner!” Colorful said.
“Let’s just go inside,” Cider suggested.
The fillies went in. A loud, booming voice welcomed them.
“Ahh, girls. I see you’ve come for your family. There are six doors. Find the right one. Once that’s done, I’ll ask you a riddle. Answer it correctly and you’ll retrieve your family. Good luck… for now,” it explained. The voice ended with a cackle.
“Okay, everypony go to one door. Whoever finds it will call the others.” Firework planned.
Colorful went to her door. She didn’t find the correct one. Her surprise was a life without Pegasi. She immediately shut the door. “That was so not cool!” she yelled.
Harmony opened her door. Her surprise was wild and crazy, as if Discord ruled all of Equestria. Her door shut automatically. She squealed in horror.
Sugar opened her door, finding a calm and peaceful clown. “Hmm, not so bad…” she said suspiciously. Suddenly, the clown went crazy.
“Whoo-hoo! Awesome entertainment!” she clapped. The clown went in her face. She shut the door in his face.
“That was so creepy!” she gasped.
When Cider opened her door, she gasped. It was a life with everypony homeless with no food or water.
Diamond’s door shocker was a world without what she called “fabulousity”. Everypony wore rags or torn dresses.
Firework found the right door. The voice came back. “Good job, Princess Firework. Now, for the riddle. What do bees brush their hair with?” it asked.
“Easy. A brush.” Diamond guessed.
“No. What kind of idiot would say that?” the voice questioned.
“How dare you call me an idiot?! My father, Fancy…” she started, but the voice cut her short.
“Next answer,” it said immediately.
“Um, a honeycomb? Because bees get honey? And you comb your hair with a comb?” Firework inquired.
“Correct. Come in.” the voice said.
The six fillies excitedly went in. They were going to get their family back! But instead, a cell trap came down, trapping them.
The same voice cackled, but this time, Princess Cocoon appeared.
“I see you girls have wandered into my little trap,” she said.
“Trap?! You sent us in here for our family. We’re here to get that!” Colorful yelled defensively.
“You do have your family, right here,” Cocoon said, revealing six more cages: one with Rainbow Dash and Soarin in it, Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich, Rarity and Fancy Pants, Twilight and Flash, Applejack, Pear, Apple Bloom, Big Mac, Cheerilee, and Joy, and Fluttershy and Bashful.
The fillies gasped. Harmony began to cry.
“What shall we do?” Diamond asked, fainting dramatically.
“Nothing, dear. Just stay in here until, well, forever!” Cocoon cackled and left, leaving the girls and their family locked up.
“Ya girls shouldn’t have come. It could’ve been too dangerous. But ya already crossed that limit.” Applejack said sternly.
“I’m sorry, Mom! I didn’t know! I wish I hadn’t…” Cider began.
“No! Mrs. Applejack, it’s my fault! I got a note saying that you all were kidnapped. So I rounded up the others! Please don’t push the blame on them.” Colorful admitted.
Rainbow and Soarin were shocked. Colorful had never done anything like this before.
“Colorful, it is okay. You were just worried about us and wanted your…” Soarin trailed off. He didn’t know if “friends” was the right way to put it.
But Colorful said it. “Friends to help?” she guessed.
Everypony’s jaw dropped.
“We’re… friends again?” Sugar asked.
Colorful smiled. “Yes!”
“You mean… we’re the Mini Mane Six again?” Diamond asked.
“Yes!” Colorful said.
The six embraced.
“Well, now we have to escape. But how?” Firework thought. Twilight and Flash looked at each other and performed a spell.
After it, everyone was transported out of their cages.
“How did you…” Joy asked.
“It’s called The Power of Love Spell. Anypony can do it, whether they have a horn or not, as long as they have the power of love in them. That’s why I was able to do it and I’m a Pegasus.” Flash explained.
“Now, let’s go! Princess Cocoon isn’t all that powerful. She just lured us in a trap.” Apple Bloom said.
“Not so fast!” a voice behind them yelled.
They all whirled around.
Princess Cocoon and Queen Chrysalis were standing there!
“You think you can just waltz in here and leave. Not without a battle!” Chrysalis yelled.
“We’ll compromise a deal. If you win the battle, we’ll let you go. But if we win, you’ll stay here forever!” Cocoon said.
“It’s on!” Soarin said.
"Okay, then. Changelings, come!" Cocoon hollered.
All the Changelings came and took the form of the ponies.
They went to the real one (while disguised) and claimed that they were the real them. When the real one believed that, the Changeling pounced on them.
Mother and daughter cackled.
With all of her strength, Twilight yelled, “Use The Power of Love Spell! It’ll help us all!”
“But how? We don’t know!” Bashful countered, hugging Harmony tightly.
Every other parent did the same to their child.
“Hug the ponies beside you! For it to work big time, Pegasi must flap their wings hard and Unicorns must use their magic. Since Firework and I are Alicorns, she and I will do both.” Twilight explained.
Everypony did what Twilight said.
Chrysalis burst out laughing. “This is hilarious! A little love spell won’t hurt powerful Changelings like Cocoon and I!” she wheezed. But it did.
A power surge bounced Chrysalis and her daughter to a faraway place, never to be seen again.
After the event, the ponies were sent to the Royal Palace in Canterlot. They were standing right in front of Princesses Luna and Celestia.
Celestia chuckled. “I knew you six could do it,”
“What do you mean?” Cider inquired.
“It means that you all accomplished something great. In fact, Luna and I have a surprise for you.” Celestia explained.
“Surprise? I love surprises!” Sugar exclaimed.
“Well then, here they are,” Luna said, opening a chest of necklaces and a tiara.
“Well, Heavens to Betsy! I haven’t seen those in a long time!” Applejack exclaimed.
Rainbow, Pinkie, Rarity, Twilight, and Fluttershy nodded in agreement.
“What are they?” Harmony asked.
“The Elements of Harmony. Your mothers represented them before you, and they vowed to give them to their children once they did something heroic.” Celestia explained.
“And you just did that heroic thing,” Luna added.
“Colorful Dash, your mother represented the Element of Loyalty, so you will now. Congratulations.” Celestia said, putting a necklace with a jeweled lightning bolt on it around Colorful’s neck.
“Sugar Pie, your mother represented the Element of Laughter, and now you do,” Luna said, putting a necklace with a jeweled balloon on it around her neck.
“Diamond Pants, your mother represented the Element of Generosity, so here is your Element,” Celestia put a necklace around her neck, a jeweled diamond on it.
“Cider, your mother represented Honesty, so you will,” Luna said. A necklace with a jeweled in apple on it was put around her neck.
“Harmony, you will represent Kindness, because your mother did,” Celestia said, putting a necklace with a jeweled in butterfly on her neck.
“And, Princess Firework Sparkle, it’s time to revoke the phony crown atop your head and replace it with this real one, the Element of Magic,” Luna took off Firework’s old crown and put a beautiful yellow tiara with a jeweled star in it on Firework’s head.
Rainbow, Soarin, Fluttershy, Bashful, Pinkie, Cheese, Applejack, Pear, Apple Bloom, Big Mac, Cheerilee, Joy, Fancy Pants, Rarity, Twilight, and Flash shed some tears. They each embraced their child.
From then on, the six were friends, and promised that when they had children, they would pass down their Elements, and their children would to their children, and so on.
