Never Forget

A young kid arrives in a colorful new world with no memories of who he once was. Soon after his arrival he meets some creatures who offer to help him. But retrieving what he has lost may not be so easy that is if he even wants to at all.

A young kid arrives in a colorful new world with no memories of who or what he once was. Soon after his arrival he discovers that where ever he is it is already inhabited. He soon makes some very colorful new friends who try and help him but it won't be as easy as they might think to get what is lost, if he even wants to at all.

Nothing or Something

Darkness that pretty much sums it up. I was floating or maybe I was staying still, that's just it I couldn't tell, all I did know was that I existed in one form or another I at least knew that much. I couldn't feel, see or even move all I could do was exist and possibly think from time to time, now that I think about it maybe that's why I knew I existed because I was thinking or at least that I had some form of self awareness. I don't know how long I've been here or even where here is all I do know is one emotion and I don't even know why I feel it, that emotion is fear. As I did whatever it was I was doing in the darkness/nothing I started to sense something I had never sensed before. All of a sudden there was a voice that was either in my head or all around me. All it did was laugh which ended up putting more fear into me then I usually felt, then it said "looks like your time is coming to an end" and then I couldn't feel it anymore. The next thing that happened was completely new to me. A white light illuminated the entire darkness to the point where instead of only seeing black now all I could see was white.

I just laid there for who knows how long to afraid to move as my world slowly started to fade away back to black but this time it felt different, it didn't feel like the same darkness I was in. Finally though something inside of me decided to try something that it had never done before and that is open my eyes. Suddenly colors came pouring in from all sides which I could do nothing to stop. After a few minutes at least to me it was since time itself seemed to be a new concept to me after all that time in the darkness, anyway after a few minutes of temporary blurriness from all of the colors everything started to clear up but I was still mildly confused. I looked around and noticed that I was laying next to what seemed to be a pond or at least some form of water, there were a few ducks there but nothing else. There also were a few trees nearby but there wasn't really anything special about them. The final thing I noticed was that there was a forest in the distance. I immediately averted my eye because of this strange feeling I got from the forest. Once I notice there was nothing else around me I tried to stand up but I immediately regretted that decision because as soon as I stood up I fell right back down, it was almost as if I had never walked before or maybe my legs were asleep I wasn't quite sure. I just sat there not sure if I should try again but I figured I couldn't just stay here forever so I decided to try again. Of course I fell down a few more times but after about the six or seventh time I finally started to walk even if it was a little slow and wobbly. I wasn't real sure which direction I was heading in but I figured that it was better than not heading in any direction so I just walked in whatever direction I was facing. I walked for awhile still stumbling along the way but after some time I saw something in the distance it looked like a small town of some kind. I started to walk towards it but suddenly I came to a stop. There were voices in my head telling me to not go into the town, telling me that they might try and harm me or even kill me. I don't know what brought these thoughts or voices into my head but because of them I didn't move an inch with fear evident on my face and I also this caused me to not pay attention to my surroundings.

I was walking along the path leading to Sweet Apple Acres with Spike to meet the rest of our friends when spike decided to ask me a question.

"Hey twilight why are we going to Sweet Apple Acres again."

I sighed " I told you spike I don't know all Applejack said was for me to come over around 1:00 P.M."

"If she only said for you to come over why am I going."

"Because I said so that's why now stop asking all these question were almost half way there."

"Fine" Spike said with a defeated sigh.

Spike then caught something unusual looking out of the corner of his eye. After squinting his eyes and focusing on it his eyes suddenly got very large.

"H-H-Hey Twilight."

Sigh "What is it now spike."

"Is that what I think it is."

"What" she said as she came to a halt and look back at him.

She then noticed that he was pointing so she followed his claw to see what he was pointing at. At first she didn't notice anything but then she saw something that looked a little out of place but she still couldn't make it out so she had to squint her eyes like spike did and when she finally realized what she was looking at her eyes got bigger than they ever have before.

I still hadn't moved, still in a trance of fear that is until something broke my trance. That something was something taped me on my side so I decided to look over to see what it was. When I did I nearly fell over for the hundredth time. Standing right beside me was some kind of creature well actually two of them but they looked very different from each other. They both had purple on them but the smaller of the two who was sitting on the big ones back also had some green on it while the bigger one only had different shades of purple. another feature or two I noticed about the bigger one was that it had some kind of horn coming out though its hair and also a pair of wings on its sides. It then cleared its throat like it was about to speak which unfortunately for me it did.

"Hello my name is Twilight Sparkle and this is spike and you are."

That pushed me over the edge, in other words I fainted returning once again to a world of darkness.

This one kind of just came to me recently and I wasn't even sure if I was even gonna do it but I figured why not so I did it. Anyway there isn't really much else to say just tell me what ya think and tell me if there is anything I can improve on. Thanks for reading!

Postponed Party

Twilight just stood there not really sure what just happened when finally Spike broke the silence.

"Did he seriously just faint"

Twilight shook her head a little as Spikes words finally registered with her "I think so," she said as she got closer to see if he was okay. "But then again I guess that's only natural since I doubt that he's ever met a talking pony before"

"Okay, so what are we suppose to do now"

Twilight raised her hoof to her chin as she thought about it. "Well the only thing I can think of is that we take him with us to meet the girls, I mean we can't just leave him here and were closer to Sweet Apple Acres then we are to the library, hey spike you don't mind walking this time do you."

"I guess not"

After Spike got off Twilight proceeded to levitate the human onto her back but then something strange happened, it didn't work

"why isn't it working"

"here try and lift this rock" Spike said while holding a rock that fit perfectly into his claw. Twilight was able to lift the rock with ease so that just posed the question as to why she couldn't lift him, I mean it's not like he should really be that heave and even if he was there should have still been a magical glow around him, she thought to herself.

"Oh well will just have to figure it out later right now we need to get to Sweet Apple Acres, help me get him on to my back" Spike did as he was told and surprisingly to him the human really wasn't that heave so it didn't take too long to get him on Twilight's back. "Alright now let's get going" Twilight and spike then headed on down the road.

Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity were all setting up decorations and talking amongst themselves in Applejack's barn.

"So do you think Twilight will like the party" said Fluttershy why'll helping Rainbow put up a banner.

"Of course she will, I mean she's been working non-stop trying to figure out that box that the tree of harmony gave us that she's hardly had time for anything else, I think this party will be just what she needs."

"I agree with Rainbow, everypony needs a little R&R from time to time" said Applejack.

"I can't wait, Twilight going to have so much fun, Just like that time when she first moved to ponyville, or that time at Gummy's Birthday, oh oh and don't forget my birthday party, and then there was." Pinkie was immediately cut off by Rarity's hoof before she could continue.

"Yes darling we all know that Twilight has attended a lot of party and they all were quite enjoyable but we really must hurry Twilight could be here at any moment."

"Alright I think that's the last of the decorating " said Applejack

Just then there was a knock at the door so everypony got into position.

Twilight and Spike were waiting outside the door to the barn after Twilight had just knocked. Twilight was a bit nervous about this whole situation which included Finding a human when the portal should still be closed, her magic not working on said human, and how she would introduce him to all of her friends without him freaking out and or fainting again that is once he woke up. Suddenly Twilight's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the door opening, It was Applejack.

"Hey there Twilight, Spike come on in."

"Alright, there's something I need to discuss with you and the girls anyway."

Applejack moved to the side to let Twilight and Spike in and once they were they were immediately greeted with a loud "SURPRISE". Twilight expression after that was one of bewilderment and confusion.

"What's the occasion"

Rarity was the first to respond. "We all just thought you would like a break, After all you have been working yourself a tad bit over lately trying to figure out the box."

"Oh girls you don't have to worry about that, I'm fine really I am but I do appreciate that you all care enough to put together a whole party together for me" Just then Spike taped Twilight.

"Twilight aren't you going to mention are guest that we brought with us."

"Oh right almost forgot, girls we need to talk" as she said this she motioned towards her back.

The girls immediately took notice of the strange creature that was on her back and then they looked back at Twilight.

"Now before you all start asking questions I'll start by saying that I don't know anything all I know is what he is and that is a human."

"Oh oh didn't you mention them before after you came back from getting your crown"

"Yes I did but I don't think this one is form the same world"

"Why do ya say that sugar cube"

"First of all the portal that I went though should still be closed and as far as I know there is no ether way to get to and from that world to this one without it, and Secondly just something about him feels different but I just can't put my hoof on it"

Rainbow then flew down beside Twilight while still looking at the human. "Well what do you think we should do"

"I'm not entirely sure, I just found him a few minutes ago"

"how about we just ask him about himself when he wakes up if that's alright"

"We could try that but well have to be careful"

"Whatever do you mean darling, is he dangerous"

"Not exactly"

Suddenly there was a moaning sound coming from Twilight's back and all eyes turned to look at the cause. The Human was starting to move so Twilight asked Spike to help her quickly get him off and set him down next to her. Spike did so just as the human started to open his eyes.

I started to regain consciousness after my weird experience which led me to believe that is was all a dream. I opened my eyes a little but things were a bit blurry but I could tell that I was laying on the ground which meant I must have been looking at the sealing. My vision soon came into to focus and when it did I slowly tried to sit up but with a little bit of difficulty. Suddenly something touched my arm which caused me to jerk away and look over but what I saw just made me stare in disbelief. It was the same thing from my dream or at least what I thought was a dream but this time she wasn't just with one other creature she was with six. She then proceeded to speak.

"There's no need to panic, were not going to hurt you we just want to ask you a few questions is that alright with you."

This time I didn't faint but I was still scared so instead of speaking I just nodded only because I didn't want them to hurt me if I said no. She then smiled at me and asked her first question.

"What is your name"

I just stared at her for a minute only because I didn't know what to say. I couldn't remember my own name, it was as if I never had one to begin with. Finally with tears escaping my eyes I said "I don't know"

Author's Notes:

This chapter is mostly just to introduce the rest of the main six although not really to the main character but more to the story. Also I'm not that great at writing or anything like that so to me it kept feeling like I couldn't find the right words to use. So if there is anyone that reads this and once to help with this problem feel free to leave a comment. Oh and also another problem I think I going to have is how to be able to tell who's talking when there are a lot of Characters around at the same time so I might just make it that no more than three or four of them are at the same place at the same time unless necessary or until I figure out hoe to resolve this. Questions with no Answers

I just sat there in the same position for who knows how long mumbling the same thing over and over again. "I don't know who I am, I don't know who I am, I don't know who I am" that's all I could say. I didn't know my name, my age, or even what I was, nothing of what I was before I woke up near that pond. Suddenly there was a touch to my shoulder, it was the same purple creature that I had first met.

"It will be alright will figure out what's going on"

"Maybe he hurt his head, do you mind if I take a look" said Fluttershy.

"Of course not, go right ahead"

The yellow one with the pink hair then started to approached me but as soon as she got closer I started to back away because I was afraid of what she was going to do to me. She then stopped as soon as I did this and she seemed to have what looked like concern on her face but I didn't think too much of it. It then began to speak

"It's alright I won't hurt you"

I still was unsure and you could see it on my face.

"It's okay you can trust her, she's the kindest pony around and wouldn't ever harm anything." said The purple one with a reassuring smile on her face.

I wasn't sure what it was but for some reason when she spoke those words it felt like I could trust her. Also ever since I woke back up after are first encounter there's just been something about her that seems familiar but I couldn't place what that something was. Finally I nodded my head since the purple one trusted her and I trusted the purple one. The one that was approaching that stopped started to approach me once more but this time I didn't back away. Once she was right in front of me she bent down and then reassured me once more probably because I was averting my eye from her direction.

"Don't worry I'm not going to hurt you I just want to check to see if you have a bump on your head or anything else that might have led to your memory loss." She then proceeded to check all around my head for any sort of injury which could have led to me forgetting everything about myself. I didn't take long before she stopped and although I wasn't looking at her I could tell she was looking at me. Then the words that came out of her mouth made me feel even more depressed and as if there was no hope. "I'm so sorry but it doesn't appear to be anything wrong with your head at least nothing I can see" she then turned to the purple one who she called Twilight. "Do you have any ideas Twilight"

I then looked over to the one who's name I now knew was Twilight to see her put one of her legs or whatever it was to her chin in a thinking manner. She then appeared to get an idea as her face suddenly lit up which an expression that just made me assume she had one.

"I know maybe it's something internal instead of external, meaning maybe it's something to do with apart of his brain" the rest of them just nodded in understanding as she continued. "I know a spell that might be able to check the inside of his head to see if there is anything wrong and if there is maybe we'll know how to fix it"

They didn't notice right away but once Twilight had mentioned something about checking inside my head I scooted all the way to one of the wall to whatever building I was in. I wasn't going to let them open my head up and I wasn't really sure what the word spell meant. They soon enough took notice of me cowering by the wall with a look of fear on my face. Twilight then came over to me followed by the rest of them which only made me close my eyes tight and hold my knees. I then felt her put her appendage on me again in that same reassuring way.

"It's okay what I want to do won't hurt I promise"

I wanted to trust her but something inside me refused to.

"All I going to do is take a quick scan of your brain to see if there is any damage and like I said before it won't hurt you"

I then looked up a little to see her smiling face, I then looked at the rest of them and they were doing the same especially the pink one. I then decided to speak for once instead of just nodding.

"Okay" I said in a very quiet voice but just enough for Twilight to hear me.

"Great, now this will only take a second" she said as something on her head began to glow the same color as her. I closed my eyes again still expecting pain because of that feeling I got earlier but it never came, instead all I heard was a "huh" which caused me to open my eyes and look up at her. Then the orange one with the hat spoke first.

"What's wrong Twi"

"I I don't know, Once I touched him with my horn the magic around it just disappeared" she then paused for a minute or two before continuing. "It's like it was never there to begin with, like I never even activated it."

I could tell by their faces that they were confused by what she just said but not as confused as me since I've been confused ever since I got here.

"What do ya mean by that"

"Yeah, I mean I may not be a unicorn and all but I'm pretty sure magic just doesn't disappear."

"I'm afraid I'd have to agree with Rainbow Dash darling, I don't think it is possible for a unicorns magic to just simply vanish."

"But I'm telling you all once I touched him with my horn I couldn't feel my magic anymore"

"Hey Twilight didn't the same thing happen when you tried to levitate him onto your back when we first found him"

"Your right spike" she then paused for a moment like she was trying to think of a reason for whatever it was they were even talking about but then she continued. "And I been thinking about it ever since then but I can't come up with a reason for why my magic isn't working on him" Then she got a look on her face like she had an idea. "Hey Rarity do you mind trying to use your magic on him, just a simple levitation up and then back down." I was about to start to shake in fear but it seemed like Twilight sensed what I was about to do and touched my shoulder. "It's okay this won't hurt if it even works that is." Then the one who's name I heard Twilight say was Rarity approached me.

"Don't worry little one this won't hurt a bit" I then saw the same thing I saw on Twilights head glow except a different color, but as soon as the glow appeared it disappeared just as quickly, I then heard her "GASP."

"It happened to you to didn't it"

All she did was nod her head while the rest of them looked at each other with confused and concerned faces.

"I don't know what going on but I'll have to write to Princess Celestia about this"

While they were all discussing what to do next I just looked at the ground not really sure what to do myself. I had no memories, no were to go, nothing but what I was wearing I had nothing and that's exactly how I felt right now. Like I was nothing like I was worthless and didn't even exist although I could feel, think and move. The next think I knew I suddenly picked up the words it's kind of getting late although I'm not really sure from who since I wasn't entirely paying attention to the conversation, then the next words I heard came from the blue one with the multi colored hair.

"So what are we gonna do with the squirt"

"He can stay with me and Spike for the night and then we'll figure out what to do tomorrow" they all seemed to agree with this idea. Then Twilight came over to me and bent down. I just stared at Twilight not really sure what she wanted me to do that is until she said. "well what are you waiting for aren't you going to get on." My eyes grew at that and I started to stutter very quietly my response.

"I-I-I um I d-don't know if I-I should"

"Come on now you can't walk all the way there, it would just be easier and faster if I just carried you"

After a back and forth conversation between me and Twilight I finally gave in and started to carefully climb onto Twilight's back. We then all parted ways but not before they all said their goodbyes even to me, which I was very skittish towards but excepted none the less. Then me, Twilight, and Spike were on our way with me wondering all along the way what was next for me.

For some reason I felt better about writing this chapter then the last although I don't know why. Anyway not much else to say since I said a lot in the last chapter just like usual leave me a comment if you want and Thanks for reading!

Memory, Nighmare, or Both

Author's Notes:

I just wanted to clarify the main characters age real quick even though he himself doesn't know, just so somethings will make a little more sense later on. He's actually just a kid around 10 except he is really mature for his age. I just thought I'd let you all know.

Anyway somethings about this chapter, it's alright I guess. I mean I mostly had an idea in my head and I went with it. I watch a lot of syfy, fantasy, and anime stuff so maybe that's where it comes from. Feel free to leave a comment if you wanna tell me what I could improve or if you just wanna tell me what you think whether it's something you like or something you don't. Thanks for reading!

We were walking through the street of the town I was walking to earlier, that is before I embarrassed myself in front of Twilight and Spike by fainting. Anyway as we were walking I could tell that the residence of this place were all watching me either out of curiosity or fear, I couldn't really tell because I was trying not to look around at any of them because of my own fears. Soon we arrived at were Twilight and Spike lived just as the sun was starting to go down and I decided that it would be best if I didn't tell them of my fears, Twilight then walked in with me still on her back and Spike right behind us closing the door. I looked around, It didn't look half bad considering that it was the inside of a tree, but there were books all around which made me kind of curious so I decided to ask.

"Um Twilight if you don't mind me asking why do you have so many books"

"Oh sorry I forgot to tell you, this is also a library"

"Really" was all I said. I had never been to a library before.

"Yes really" she said with a giggle.

Suddenly we both heard a yawn, it was caused by spike. This caused us to yawn as well.

"Looks like we could all use some rest"

"But I (yawn) I'm not even that tired" he said while rubbing his eyes.

Twilight giggled again and levitated him onto her back right behind me. "Come on let's get you two ready for bed." She walked up some steps which led to another room with even more steps. She then walked up them which let to what I believed to be her bed room. She levitated Spike off, who was already half asleep and she placed him in what looked like a basket but it could have been just a smaller bed. She then bent down to let me get off which I did.

"So is there anything you usually do bef..." she stopped mid sentence at the realization of what she was about to say but then she continued to talk. "I'm sorry I just forgot for a moment" a look of sadness then appeared on her face and averted her gaze.

"I-It's alright" I said although I think it was a sort of an obvious lie. the next minute or two we just stood there in an awkward silence that is until Twilight broke the silence.

"Anyway how about we just go to bed"

I nodded but then looked around noticing there was only one bed.

"Um Twilight where am I going to sleep"

"Well I do have a spare bed tucked away in the basement incase I ever have guests but It's getting pretty late so I'll bring it out tomorrow, for now we can just share my bed."

"W-W-What I-I couldn't do that"

"Why not"

"I just don't what you to have to give up anything for me"

"I'm not giving it up were sharing it"

"But"

"But nothing" she said as she climbed into the bed "now come on"

I hesitated for a moment but finally I gave up probably because I was too tired to argue. She lifted the covers and I climbed in. The lights then turned off and I just laid there with my back to her and after some time had passed I finally drifted off to sleep.

My eyes suddenly shot open as I heard a scream, It sounded like a woman's. I immediately sat up in what I thought was the bed I had fallen asleep in but I quickly found out that it wasn't. I was laying in the grass and when I looked around I wasn't at Twilights anymore, I was surrounded by trees. I was in a forest but how did I get here. My thoughts were interrupted by yet another scream and another and another. This time there were men, woman, and even children it sounded like. I wasn't entirely sure how many there were but the sound of their bloodcurdling screams froze my very being right down to the soul. I was so distracted by the screams that I almost didn't notice that there was something glowing in the distance something that was red and orange. I could even see it past the top of the trees so much so that it nearly illuminated the night. Suddenly my body started to move on its own and no matter how hard I tried it wouldn't stop. It was moving in the direction of the light which made me want to stop even more, I even tried to scream at myself to stop but no sound came out, it was like I was just along for the ride in my own body. As we approached the light I could feel a warmth coming from it and also the screams were getting louder and louder but that apparently didn't matter as my body continued to move. Then I finally came out of the woods but I really wish I hadn't, there was a village or town of some kind that was on fire and not just one house all of it. There were also creatures similar looking to me, they were running in every direction screaming some even ran into the flames but I had no idea why they would do such a thing. But then I saw it or rather them, these hooded things. They were shaped similar to how everyone else was shaped but something about them was different. They had some kind of weapons in their hands that look like swords. I then saw one of the creature that appeared to be just a child and also around my size get to close to one of the creatures with the black hoods and as soon as it did it raised its sword and the sword came down on the child. I was expecting to see blood but there wasn't any, as soon as the sword touched it they just sort of just evaporated or something like that I wasn't sure what just happened and I really didn't have time to figure it out as those things started to head in my direction. I was terrified, I tried to run away but I forgot that I couldn't control my body and although they weren't walking very fast I felt more terrified with every step they took. When they finally got within striking distance I suspected them to raise their swords and do to me what they did to the other one but they didn't. They walked past me like they didn't even know I was here right into the forest. I just stood there still frozen with fear, there was no more screaming, no more creatures, no more nothing everything was gone except for the flames. As I stood there I thought I heard something behind me but I could turn around to see, not that I wanted to. Then something touched my shoulder and I could tell that its head was bent down right next to my ear. It then whispered into my ear.

"Are you sure you want to know"

My eyes grew wide but they also grew dark as everything faded once again and I could feel my body begin to fall but never reach the ground.

I eyes shot open for the second time and I feared what had happened to me and where was I now. I instantly noticed that I could move again so I tried to do so by something held me down. I looked around and noticed Twilight was here and that I was back in bed which made me think that it had all been just a dream. She had a warm smile on her face and her eyes were closed, I then took notice of what was holding me down, it was one of her front legs. I was wrapped around my waste in a holding/hugging sort of way. This caused me to calm down instantly. I don't know what it was about Twilight but I felt like I could trust her and that I would be safe no matter what as long as she was around. I put my head back down not really wanting to go back to sleep even though I could tell it wasn't even morning yet but yet again I just couldn't help it and I started to drift back to sleep. All I could do was hope that I didn't have another terrible nightmare like that one.

New Day, New Friends, and a New Name

This chapter is the longest one I've done so far and I'm kind of glad I done with it because like I've said I'm not much of a writer. Anyway since this chapter is longer then my others I'm sure there are more mistakes and especially since I don't do much proof reading. Just let me know in the comments if you want and I try and fix it as soon as I can.

Twilight's pov

The sun was just starting to shine through my window and onto my face, this caused me to stir a little and to wake up before I actually wanted to. My eyes were still closed but I was conscious and the first thing I noticed was that I was holding something and that it was lying up against my chest. At first I thought it was just a pillow but then it started to move so at that point I decided to open my eyes. It was the human child sleeping peacefully under my hoof laying the back of himself against me, seeing how peaceful he looked sleeping like that kind of made me feel all warm and fuzzy sort of how you would suspect a mother would feel. I immediately removed this thought out of my head because I knew that I had to figure out a way to get him to remember and also to get him back to where he came from because I was sure that his family must be worried about him. I slowly lifted my hoof from him and proceeded to get out of bed as quietly as possible so I wouldn't disturb him. I walked down stairs and over to the desk because I wanted to write to Princess Celestia about all of this and when spike woke up I would have him send it. as soon as that thought crossed my mind I heard footsteps coming from the stairs. I looked over my shoulder and saw a half asleep dragon rubbing his eyes; he then looked over to me.

"Morning Twilight, what are you doing"

“Morning Spike, I'm writing a quick letter to Princess Celestia about our human guest and then I'll need you to send it"

"Alright, Hey Twilight do you want me to go ahead and get breakfast ready"

"Sure and while you do that I'll finish this letter and then go wake him up"

Spike then went into the kitchen while Twilight finished the letter.
A few minutes later Twilight finished the letter, even including the parts about magic not working on him. She rolled it up and left it on the table while she went to wake up the human. While she was going up the stairs a thought crossed her mind, I really need to think of what else we can call him besides what he is, maybe the girls will have some ideas. She then opened the door to see that he was still sleeping peacefully which she really didn't want to disturb but she knew that they had a busy day ahead of them. I wasn't exactly sure how to go about doing it since I didn't know his name so I just did what popped in my head.

"Um excuse me kid it's time to get up" I said as I gently placed a hoof on him. At first all he did was stir a little but then he started to speak.

"Just a few more minutes’ mom"
This shocked me but also made me happy when he called me that but I didn't know why, I then remembered that he was still asleep so I tried again

"Come on we have a lot to do today so it's time to get up"

This time he opened his eyes half way and lifted his head, he then just looked at me for a minute before rubbing his eyes; he then looked at me again and smiled.

"Oh good morning Twilight, sorry about that it just took me a minute to wake up"

"That's alright you don't have to apologize but we probably should head down stairs, I'm sure Spikes almost done making breakfast and then once were done eating we can head out"

"Where are we going"

"Just to see my friends, do you remember them from yesterday?"
He nodded his head; I then bent down so he could get on my back again. Once he did we made our way down stairs.

"You don't have to carry me"
I looked back at him curiously "Why do you not like me too"

"No it's not that it's just" he paused

"It's just what" I said cocking my head a little.

"It's just that, that I, I don't what to be a burden to anyone"
The moment he said that I stopped right before we got to the second set of stairs.

"Why would you ever think you were a burden?"
It was then that I could see tears starting form which broke my heart.

"I-I-I don't know, I-I mean it's j-just this thought in my head and, and I'm scared, scared of not being to remember anything, I'm sorry." It was then that the tears started to come out and he put his hands in front of his face. Once that happened I immediately bent back down and told him to get off which I think that he thought that I didn't want him on me because he was crying but that was far from the reason. Once he got off my back I immediately turned around and gave him a hug which I don't think he was expecting. I then kissed his forehead although I don't know why it just felt like the right thing to do.

"There there everything's going to be alright" I said patting him on the back as he pressed his face into my chest. "Everypony or in your case everybody gets scared from time to time and that perfectly natural"

"I-It is" he said removing his face and looking up at me.

"Of course and in time you'll be able to face those fears"

"Really"
I simply nodded as I licked away his tears which made him giggle.

"There we go, now do you feel a little better"
He nodded and smiled up at me. "Thanks"

"No problem, now how about we go down stairs and enjoy a delicious breakfast, I'm sure Spikes wondering where we are"
He nodded with a smile on his face as he climbed back onto my back.

Human's pov

As we headed back down stairs I kept wondering why she cared so much, I mean we just met yesterday, I'm not the same species, and I don't even know who I am, so why does she care and trust me so much, Not that I minded. I ended my thoughts as soon as we had made it to what I guessed was the main room of this place and also where we would be eating. I then saw Spike sitting at a table with an impatient look on his face.

"What took you two so long, for a minute there I thought I was going to be eating all by myself."

"It's nothing, we were just talking that's all" She said as she smiled in my direction.
Spike just shrugged "alright, anyway you two better sit down and eat before you breakfast gets cold" he then began to eat.

I looked at my plate and to my surprise there were waffles on it. Of course since I couldn't really remember anything about myself at the moment I didn't really know if I liked them or now so I decided to take a chance. I didn't just like them I loved them.

Twilight's pov

15 min later

We were now all finished eating so Spike grabbed all of the plates and took them to the kitchen, my new human friend asked if he could help but Spike said he could handle it, which made him look almost just as sad when he called himself a burden earlier. I had to think of something to cheer him up and I think I knew just the pony to help me do that. I got up from where I was sitting and I walked over to him.

"So are you ready to go"
he nodded his head so I bent down as he climbed back on to me.

"Spike well be back this afternoon"

"Alright, Oh and after I'm done in here I'm probably going to head to Rarity's to see if she needs my help."

"Okay" I said as we went out the door.

Are first destination was going to be Sugar Cube Corner since I figured Pinkie should be there. Once we approached the building I looked back to see the child was doing but all he was doing was staring in awe at the building in front of us, which I suppose didn't really surprise me. As we entered Pinkie Pie immediately appeared out of thin air which didn't really surprise me but I think it did him because immediately I felt shaking on my back and something under the back of my mane.

"It's alright, you don't have to be afraid this is just one of my friends remember"

The shaking slowly stopped and his head came out from my mane as he peeked around my head at pinkie. Which caused Pinkie to smile at him apologetically?

"Oops sorry about that, I was just so excited to see you and maybe talk to you this time that I ran as fast as I could over to you and Twilight once I saw you Two walk through the door, I've been wanting to know more about you all day like what is your favorite dissert, what do you like to do for fun, what kind of party's do humans throw, wha."

I immediately stopped her ramblings with my hoof as I knew that he wouldn't have been able to answer any of her questions.

"Pinkie I really don't think he'll be able to answer you"
Pinkie gave me a confused look "why not."
I sighed "don't you remember yesterday, he didn't even remember his own name do you really think he'd be able to remember and then answer all of you questions."

"O yeah, sorry about that" she said directing it at him"

He quietly replied "I-It's alright" why still partly hiding behind my mane.

"Alright, now this time pinkie try and do a little bit better at introducing yourself”
She nodded then looked at him "Hi I’m Pinkie Pie and I'm super duper exited to meet you" she said as she extended a hoof.
At first he kind of seemed apprehensive but soon enough he warmed up enough to take her hoof in his hand. "It's nice to meet you too"

After the two introduced themselves to each other I immediately remembered something important I had to discuss with Pinkie. I then turned back to look at the human on my back.

"I need to talk to Pinkie Pie in private for just a moment so I'm going to set you over by that table over there for just a minute okay"

He nodded his head in understanding so I walk over to a nearby table and let him get off of my back and while he sat down to wait I walked back over to Pinkie.

Human pov

As I sat there waiting patiently I started thinking about how nice and colorful this place was. Not just the building I was in now but this entire world. How everyone here that I've met just seem so friendly and accepting of me even though I haven't even known them a day yet. The one that Twilight called Pinkie Pie just seemed so happy to meet me and she wanted to know everything about me, it's a shame I couldn't remember anything to tell her. As I continued to sit there and think I suddenly felt something tap on my shoulder which caused me to jump a little. I looked over to see who it was and one I did I saw someone I hadn't met yet. After some time looking at the spices I figured out how to tell male and female apart so I could easily tell that it was a she. She was kind of a beige color with two other colors in her hair and tail, dark blue and pink.

"Sorry to bother you but you see my friend over there really what's to meet you" she said motioning with a front leg.
I looked behind her to see a mint colored one in both body and hair sitting at a different table not to far way. She noticed me looking at her and started to wave very fast at me. I just smiled kind of nervously and waved back. Then the one that was directly in front of me continued to speak.

"You see my friend Lyra has kind of been interested in your kind for a while but sometimes I guess you can say she can be a get a bit excitable and when she saw you on the way over here she almost immediately ran over to you immediately, probably would of tackled you to the ground more or less out of excitement."
I winced at that.
She noticed and with a confident smile she said "don't worry though as long as I'm around I'll make sure to keep her in line, you know make sure she doesn't do anything to reckless, so what do you say do you mind meeting her for just a minute."

I looked over at her friend who was still looking at me with a big smile on her face for a few seconds trying to think about what I should do, I then looked over at Twilight who was still talking to her friend. I then looked at Bon Bon and nodded. She smiled at the response and then motioned for me to follow her so I did. As we approached I could see the one who was identified as Lyra smile get even bigger, if that was even possible, and soon I was at their table.

"here you go" said Bon Bon as she pull another chair over.
As soon as I sat down not one second later did Lyra start to talk.

"O my gosh o my gosh o my gosh I can't believe it an actual human, I mean I always believed you were real but no one else did they all thought I was crazy that is until Princess Twilight went to another world and said she saw them" she finally took a breath but then was about to continue talking that is until Bon Bon stopped her.

"Lyra please calm down, you're probably scaring the poor thing" She then looked at me "Are you alright" to which I responded to with a nod. "Now Lyra remember what I said, if you're going to talk to him try not to scare him with your rambling and first of all make sure he's willing to answer your questions"
As soon as Bon Bon said this Lyra gave a sheepish smile and chuckled nervously. "Right sorry"
Lyra then looked at me "Sorry about that, so I was wondering if you could maybe answer some questions about yourself and humans in general"

Humans, was that what I am, well at least that solves one mystery but now how am I suppose to answer all of her questions since I don't know anything. I glanced nervously between them not wanting them to get mad at me for not knowing anything and I could see on their faces that they were waiting for a response. I was about to just tell them the Truth when all of a sudden I heard a voice behind me.

"There you are"

I looked behind me and saw Twilight walking rather quickly to where I was. When she was close enough she wrapped her front legs around me.

"Thank goodness your okay, when I didn't see you over where I left you I thought something had happened to you" she said as she released the hug.
Lyra then spoke up "Sorry about that Princess Twilight I just really wanted to meet him"

"It's okay just next time let me know okay"

"Alright" both Lyra and Bon Bon said.

"Anyway sorry to cut this short but I have to introduce him to the rest of my friends"
They both nodded in understanding as I got onto Twilight's back and we began to walk away but then Lyra spoke up again. "Um do you think that maybe I could ask him some questions later about humans and their culture?"

"Um well see" was all she said then we were on our way to are next destination.

Twilight's pov

We had just left Sugar Cube Corner as fast as possible because I really didn't feel like telling everpony that he couldn't remember anything and I had a feeling he didn't ether. Are next stop was Rarity's since she was the closest so we made our way over there. Soon we arrived and walked in which as soon as we did caused the little bell to ring to alert Rarity if there were any customers. We then heard Rarity speak from another room.

"I'll be with you in just a moment"
It didn't take her that long because not even a minute later she came trotting in to where we were.

"Now how may I help, oh Twilight it's you darling, how are you today."

"I'm fine Rarity, I was going around to reintroduce are new human friend to all of you."

"Of course darling" she then looked at the human on Twilight's back. "Hello there it's a pleasure to officially meet you, let me introduce myself, I am Rarity the owner of this fine establishment known as Carousel Boutique, Also I am Ponyville's one and only fashion designer."

"I-It...It's nice to meet you too."

"By the way those are some lovely clothes you are wearing."

"Thanks" he said blushing a little at the complement.

"O by the way Rarity is Spike here yet"

"Yes he is, he just arrived a moment ago"

"Alright good" I then looked back at the human "do you mind going into the other room for a minute I need to speak with Rarity."

He nodded, I then let him off of my back and Rarity showed him where Spike was. When she returned I proceeded to tell her what I needed to.

Human's pov

Rarity walked me to the room where Spike was and once we entered I immediately saw him, he was what looked like cleaning up some piles of fabric and stuff.

"Spike darling"
He turned to face us "yes Rarity, oh hey there you and Twilight must have just got here."
I nodded

"Twilight wants to know if you can keep an eye on him for just a moment while me and her have a quick chat"

"You can count on me" he said as he saluted.

"Thank you Spike"
Rarity then left the room leaving just me and Spike.

"So buddy how have you and Twilight been doing since you left"

"Fine" I said as I averted my eyes.

"How many of our friends have you met"

"One"

"Which one"

"Pinkie Pie"
Spike then cocked his and looked at me with obvious concern. "What's wrong?"
I continued to avert my gaze. "N-Nothing"

"Are you sure because if there's something bothering you, you can tell me"
I was about to open my mouth to answer but something inside me decided against it so I just nodded my head. Apparently he took that as a sign that I would tell him if I wanted to and just shrugged his shoulders and said "okay."

"So anyway I was just helping Rarity reorganize some of her fabrics, do you want to help?"
My face immediately lit up at this.

"Sure" I then walked closer to him to see what he wanted me to do

About 15 minutes later we were putting away the last of the fabric when Twilight and Rarity walked in.

"You two have done a wonderful job, thank you" Rarity said as her and Twilight walked closer, then Rarity hugged both of us. This caused Spike to blush but for me I just shrugged it off as gratitude. After she broke the hug Twilight came up to me.

"So are you ready to go and meet the rest of my friends"

I nodded, so she bent down and I got back on her. We then said goodbye to Rarity and Spike and made our way out the door and to our next destination.

Twilight's pov

our next destination was Sweet Apple Acres, as we made our way there I was think about what I had talked about with Pinkie and Rarity. I talked to them about how they could maybe help our new human friend and also how they could possibly make him feel more welcomed and comfortable. The next thing I had to do was figure out was his name or at least figure out what to call him besides human all the time. I had gotten a few ideas from Pinkie and Rarity but I wasn't entirely sure yet, maybe one of the others had some more ideas. Soon enough we could see Sweet Apple Acres in the distance.

"Isn't that the place you brought me to when I was unconscious."
I nodded "this is where my friend Applejack lives; she was the one with the hat."

He nodded in understanding as we continued up the path. As we got closer I could see Applejack stand outside the barn, I then noticed that Rainbow Dash was with her. The closer we got the more I could hear what they were saying.

"Admit it I won"

"Ya did not; I'm tellin ya I did"

Both Applejacks and Rainbows faces were pressed up against each others as they were glaring at each other. This immediately led me to believe they were having another one of their competitions, I decided I should probably intervene before thing got out of hoof.

“Hey what are you two doing?”
This caught their attention as they looked over in our direction.

“O hey there Twilight, me and Rainbow here were just having another one of our competitions”

“What is it this time?”

“We couldn’t actually think of anything that we hadn’t done yet so we just had a race” said Rainbow

“Alright, well anyway I came here for a reason”

“What is it Twi”
She then motioned to the human on her back. “You two remember are new little human friend don’t you.” They both nodded with smiles on their faces as they approached. Applejack then extended a hoof towards him first.
“Howdy there little fella, I’m Applejack, it’s great to finally get a chance to talk to ya this time around” At first he hesitated and averted his eyes but he finally extended his hand without looking at her and shook her hoof.
As she backed up a little Rainbow came a bit closer. “Hey there kid, name Rainbow Dash the best flyer in all of ponyville maybe even equestria”
He finally looked up as it appeared that something Rainbow had said had caught his attention “flyer” was all he said as he looked directly at Rainbows wings.
Rainbow gave him a curious and then noticed where he was looking. “Oh yeah I forgot you were new around here, I’m a Pegasus, which means I have wing that I can use to fly”
He nodded

I think he noticed my wings earlier but he didn’t probably think much of it until Rainbow said she could fly. I’ll probably have to teach him about Equestria and ponies later I thought. Suddenly I remembered that I still had to talk to them like I did to the others but I wasn’t sure of what to do with him while I did. All of a sudden I saw Apple Bloom running out of the barn, this gave me an idea.

“Hey Applejack I need to talk to you and Rainbow Dash in private so why don’t you introduce him to your sister over there” I pointed.

“Alright Twilight, that sounds like a great idea” she then yelled over to her sister. “Hey Apple Bloom can ya come here for a sec there’s someone I want ya to meet”
Apple Bloom runs over to us as fast as she could. “Who is it?”
Applejack motioned a hoof over to him. “This here’s a human that Twilight found yesterday”
Apple Bloom looked at him which made him quickly avert his eyes yet again. She then walked over to my side to greet him. “Hey there my names Apple Bloom, what’s your name”
When Apple bloom asked him what his name was this made him look a bit depressed, then with a sigh he answered “I don’t know”
This caused her to have a puzzled look on her face. What do ya mean ya don’t know?”
Before anything else could be said Applejack quickly intervened. “I’ll explain it to ya later, but right now I need to speak to Twilight alone so do ya mind keeping an eye on him for a minute.”

“No problem sis, but I was going to meet Sweetie Bell and Scootaloo at the clubhouse, you don’t mind if I take him with me do ya”

“Not at all, what about you Twilight”

“That’s fine” I then turned her head to look at him and noticed a look of nervousness, I bent down and he knew that meant for him to get off so he did. Once he was off I wrapped a wing around him which caused him to look up at me. “It will be alright Apple Bloom and her friends are all really nice and I’m sure you’ll get along great with them.” He still looked a little uncertain but smiled a little and nodded his head in understanding. “Good, don’t worry I come and get you as soon as I’m done talking with my friends”
He nodded once again and then walks over to Apple Bloom. When he stood right beside her I noticed that he only came to about her nose, I guess I never noticed how small he was. Him and Apple Bloom then walk away and headed to the Cutie Mark Crusaders club house leaving me, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash to talk about things.

Human's pov

As we walked to the clubhouse I started to wonder what Apple Blooms friends were like. If they would like me or if this was probably the only time I would see them and Apple Bloom because they would think I was weird or something. Suddenly there was a taping on my shoulder, it was Apple Bloom.

“Are ya alright there pal; ya kind of spaced out there for a minute”

“Um yeah I’m fine”
She didn’t really look convinced at my words but still she said “Alright if you say so.”
Another minute passed and I was wondering if we would ever get there but then I finally saw a building in the middle of all of these trees. I didn’t know what a clubhouse was suppose to look like since I had never seen one or at least don’t remember ever seeing one before so I wasn’t’ sure if this was how they all looked or not but I liked it.

“So what do ya think do ya like it?”

“Yeah it looks pretty cool” I said somewhat embarrassed to express my opinion.
“Glad to hear it, now come on let go on inside and see if Sweetie Bell and Scootaloo are already here”

We proceeded to walk up a ramp which led to a balcony and front door. Apple Bloom opened the door and walked in with me right behind her. Once I was inside I immediately took noticed two new presences inside the building. One of them was White with light purple and pink hair, she was reading a book on something but I could tell what. The next one was orange and had purple colored hair that was kind of lifted up at the front, I don’t know why but I liked her colors and I thought she looked pretty cool. She was drawing something using her mouth which I was curious about how she did that but it probably wasn’t a big deal here so I let it go. While I was busy taking in my surroundings and the two new faces Apple Bloom let our presence be known.

“Hey there girls what are ya’ll up to”
They both looked up from what they were doing and in unison said “Hey Apple Boom” They then told her about what they were doing.

“I was reading a book on cutie marks thinking that maybe I could find new ways to earn ours.”

“And I was make us an awesome new flag for the club house or at least coming up with some ideas”

“Great, anyway I have someone I want you two to meet” she then moved to the side and pointed at me. “This here is, well actually I don’t know his name but he’s a human and my sister said she would talk about it later” they then ran up to me with exited looks on their faces.

“It’s nice to meet you I’m Sweetie Bell and this is Scootaloo”

“Hey what’s up”

“Um h-hello” I said somewhat meekly. I wasn’t to getting all of this attention especially from what seemed to be kids, I think.

The next few minute we all stood there in awkward silence until finally I decided to be the first to break the silence although I really wish I hadn’t.

“Um I-I really like you hair color and also you fur color, it looks really cool” I said to Scootaloo. Once I said this her face became redder the some of them apples I saw on the way over here and not even a second later my face matched hers and I immediately covered my mouth as I fully realized what I had just said. She then began to stutter out a response after another minute of silence.

“T-T-Thanks I-I think it looks p-pretty cool myself” she said while looking at the ground.
I then looked to the side as I saw both Apple Bloom and Sweetie Bell looking at up with smiles on their faces and then I heard “awww”

“W-What” said scootaloo

“Nothing, nothing at all right Sweetie Bell”

“Right it’s nothing”
The both said this while keeping those smiles on their faces.
Scootaloo just sighed and then looked over at me. “A-Anyway why don’t I, I mean we show you around the clubhouse. I nodded in response, deciding it would probably be best if I didn’t say anything for a little while.
After about 3-5 minutes showing me around the clubhouse they then proceeded to tell me about what they did which took another minute or two. After that we weren’t really sure what to do, that is until Apple Bloom spoke up.

“Hey Sweetie Bell why don’t ya show me what ya found in them book you were reading and Scootaloo you can show him your flag designs”
I have a feeling that Scootaloo was about to object but it was too late because Apple Bloom and Sweetie Bell immediately made their way over to the book Sweetie Bell was looking at earlier. Scootaloo just looked at me and then over to a desk where her drawings were and then back at me. “Um a-alright come on”
I followed her over to the desk; she then sat down while I just stood there.

“Y-You know you don’t have to just stand there, I think there’s enough room for both of us, I m-mean you don’t have to I mean I was j-just suggesting it so you don’t have to s-stand is all”

“O-Oh, alright” I said as I slowly sat down beside her. She then showed me all of her work. I actually liked each of her designs, they all kind of seemed to represent this place very well and the color chooses she used were all very good.

“So w-what do you think”
I really wasn’t expecting her to ask me that so I really didn’t know what to say. I didn’t want to lie and say that they were just alright because I thought they were better than alright but I didn’t want to seem to over enthusiastic because I thought that would be weird or off putting since I just meet her. I then snapped out of my inner conflict as I noticed the worry on her face. I then decided that it would be best if I was just honest about what I thought.

“I-I think that there really neat and I like the colors and shapes you used for them”
This seems to put the biggest smile I had ever seen on her face, her face then got really close to mine.

“Really”
I nodded while backing away just a little, which she noticed.

“S-Sorry about that I was just really glad you like them” she said while backing up to her previous position.

“That’s alright”
Before another wave of awkward silence could come there was a knock at the door, Apple Bloom then walked over to the door and opened it. On the other side was Applejack and Twilight.

“Hey there girls I just came to get our new little human friend and to see how he was”

“Oh he was just fine Twilight; we’ve been having lots of fun”

“Yeah and it’s really great to have a new friend to do stuff with”
This kind of caught me a bit of guard. I mean we had only just met and they were already considering me a friend, I guess I made an okay impression then. Scootaloo was the next to speak.

“He was totally cool to hang out with, I hoping we can do it again real soon, if that’s alright with you Twilight” she said with more enthusiasm then the other two. This made Apple Bloom and Sweetie Bell giggle but I don’t think anyone else noticed.

“Of course, I think it would be a great idea if you all could become good friends”

“Anyway Apple Bloom it’s about time for super so I think we should get going”

“Alright sis” she said walking to the door “I’ll see ya’ll later including you alright” she said pointing at me.
I nodded as her and Applejack walked out the door. Then Sweetie Bell and Scootaloo made their way to the door but not before giving me each a hug before they left. Finally me and Twilight walk out of the clubhouse and down the ramp. Twilight then bent down and I got back onto her back.

“So are you ready to go to our final stop”
I nodded curious to where that would be. I went over in my head, who I saw yesterday and then it suddenly hit me on who I hadn’t see today that I saw yesterday.
“Is it that nice yellow one with the pink hair?”

“Yeah it is, her name is Fluttershy, and she takes take of all the animals around ponyville”
This kind of made me curious as to what kind of animals lived around here; I guess I would find out when we arrived at Fluttershy’s place.

Twilight's pov

As we made our way over to Fluttershy’s I continued to think about how the day had gone so far. I had told everypony except Fluttershy everything I needed to tell them and also gave me some name idea for him, now all I had to do was run them by him to see if he minded me giving him a new name at least for now. We soon arrived at Fluttershy’s and I knocked on the door. After a minute the door opened revealing Fluttershy.

“Oh hello Twilight, how are you”

“I’m fine; I just came over to properly introduce you to our new human friend”
Fluttershy’s eyes suddenly lit up. “Oh yes of course, come in please”
We walk on in and I let him off of my back, then all three of us walk over to the sofas to relax and talk a bit.

“So how are you feeling after yesterday?”

“I’m doing fine, thank you for asking”

“Your welcome, how about I get us all something to snake on, would you like that”

“Yes please”
Fluttershy then left the room to see what she could find and I thought this would be the perfect time to talk to her.

“I’ll be right back, I need to speak with Fluttershy in the kitchen, Is it alright if you stay here for just a minute.

“Alright”
I smiled and gave him a hug then I walk into the kitchen.

Human’s pov

I sat there wondering why Twilight always had to talk to her friend in private, but I figured if it had anything to do with me she would tell me, unless it was something bad. I then started to panic, thinking about the all of the things that she might have told them that could have been bad. Soon enough all of the fear that I had inside of me slowly started to increase and that same voice inside my head stared to get louder. I almost passed out from all of this until something drew my attention away from it all; it was a taping on my leg. I looked down and saw a little white rabbit, which made since; Twilight did say Fluttershy took care of animals after all. As I stared at it for a second I noticed that it didn’t look pleased, it was actually kind of glaring at me. This kind of made me nervous because I didn’t know if it was tame or not, actually I didn’t even know if rabbits were even dangerous. I scooted away just in case and I tried not to pay it any attention, thinking that maybe if I ignored it that it would go away. Instead it hopped around to the other side to look at me once again face to face, this time though it wasn’t really glaring at me, it more looked like a look of curiosity as he cocked it head to the side. It then jumped up on the couch and hopped a little closer which made me want to back up a bit but I stayed perfectly still. Once it got close enough it just looked at me for a bit and then sniffed me. Now that I think about it, it probably wasn’t too happy having something unfamiliar around so it decided that it needed to check to see if I was alright. Once he was done sniffing he just looked up at me and nodded. He then hopped off of the couch and hopped off somewhere else. As soon as it left Fluttershy and Twilight came back with the snacks. It was just some cookies and milk but they looked delicious, especially since I hadn’t eaten anything since this morning. We then just sat there in silence eating the cookies and drinking the milk, Then Twilight broke the silence.

“Um excuse me there’s something I need to talk with you about” she said looking at me with kind of a serious yet kind face and tone.
This made me nervous all over again but Twilight notice and reassured me.

“Don’t worry it’s nothing bad, it’s just one of the many things I’ve been thinking about that I think we need to disuse”
I nodded and let her continue.

“Well you see I’ve been thinking about how you don’t know your name and if you don’t know if then we don’t know it, so I was wondering if it’s alright with you that is, if we come up with a name for you, at least until you get you memories back”

In all honesty I hadn’t really thought to much about it since I first realized I could remember it and I guess I was kind of tired of being referred to as human which I guessed that was what I was. I thought about it for another minute and then I decided that it would probably be a good idea so I nodded.

“Great, actually I’ve already talked about it with my entire friend and I think I have something in mind, just tell me what you think.” She paused for a moment and then continued. “Emerald Blaze”

As she said this I could tell that she was looking for a reaction from me. It actually wasn’t that bad of a name but it did seem like it would fit one of their kind more than it would me. But still I needed a name and I really did like the name.

Finally after thinking about it I smiled up at her and said “I think it’s a great name, thank you for taking the time to come up with it”

“It was no problem, I just figured that everypony or in your case everyone deserves a name and your no exception”

“Thank you” I said again but this time I actually started to cry as I said it. I had been trying to keep my emotions hidden all day but the fact that they actually cared enough to give me a name, I just couldn’t hold it in any longer and I just let it all out. Suddenly I felt something wrap around me and I knew immediately what it was since it also happed this morning. It was Twilight’s wing hugging me. She then spoke to me in that kind, sweet motherly voice of hers.

“There, there it’s alright, there’s no need to cry”
I finally spoke up through my tears. “It’s just that after arriving here and not where I was or who I am I was so scared, then I met you and your friends and to be honest I was scared of all of you to because I didn’t know what you were or what you would do to me, but then you took me into your home and you and your friends treated me so nicely but I was still afraid, but now you even giving me a name, I just that I feel so ashamed that I doubted that you all actually wanted to help me, can you ever forgive me”

She looked kind of shocked to hear all of this but soon enough her smile returned and she hugged me even tighter.

“It’s alright I’m not mad at you and I’m sure that none of my friend would be ether right Fluttershy”

“Of course”
“It’s all going to be alright in the end I promise actually I’ll do better than that I’ll Pinkie Pie Promise, cross my heart and hope to fly stick a cup cake in my eye” this made me laugh a little which made Twilight laugh too. “See everything is going to be alright”

For once I actually believed that everything would be. I don’t know if it was that promise or if it was just Twilight herself but ether way I believed her.

“Now how about we get going back to the library since the sun is starting to set and Fluttershy do you think you could come with us”

“Of course Twilight” Then that same rabbit came from around the corner. “Now angle you be a good boy while I’m gone and keep an eye on the house “ he saluted and then hopped of once again.

“Alright” said Twilight as she got off of the couch and bent down for me to get on. Once I did all three of us made our way outside.

“Hey Emerald” said Twilight sounding a bit exited to actually call me by a name this time.

“Would you mind if we flew to the library this time”
I wasn’t too sure about it since I had never flown before but I trusted Twilight so I said “alright”

“Great” we then took off but not too fast with Fluttershy right behind us as we made our way to the library.

About five or six minutes later we arrived and touched back down to the ground right in front of the door. I then noticed that Twilight and Fluttershy gave each other some kind of look before opening the door and walking in. It was darker in here than I expected it would be but then all of a sudden everything got a whole lot brighter and all I heard was.

“SURPISE”

All I did was blink because I had no idea what was going on but finally a word came out of my mouth.

“What?”

What's a party?

Emerald’s pov

I just stood there not really sure what was going on, I mean I had no idea what they meant when they all yelled surprise and also what was with all of the new faces. Finally I spoke again.

“W-What’s going on” I said nervously. Suddenly Pinkie Pie appeared out of no were for the second time today.

“What do you mean silly this is your welcome to Ponyville party, so were you surprised, were you, were you?” she said getting closer to my face with ever word.
I just gave her a confused look and I decided to ask her a probably stupid question. “What’s a party?”

Suddenly everything got real quiet and all eyes were on me with looks of concern mixed with confusion. Idiot you should have just kept your mouth shut, now they’re all going to think you’re stupid and clueless, idiot, idiot, idiot, I heard a voice say in my head as I mentally beat myself up for saying something that seemed stupid. Suddenly before I could even realize what was going on I was scooped up off of Twilight’s back and I found myself in Pinkie Pies hooves I think I heard someone call them once. I then stared to swing back and forth.

“How could anypony or anyone not know what a party is” she said why I heard light sobbing so I look up at her face and sure enough she had tears in her eyes which made me even more confused and worried. She then continued to speak “I-It’s just so sad, h-have you never b-been to a party before or maybe they don’t have parties where your f-from.” I continued to look at her not knowing what to say then I looked everyone else that was staring at me even Twilight and the rest of her friends. All of them had the same looks as all of the others even Twilight except instead of confusion she had a look of understanding. I was about to try and say something but then I saw Twilight coming a little closer so I waited to see what would happen.

“Pinkie I’m sure he know what a party is and I’m also sure he has been to some parties before, he’s probably just a little tired from the busy day we've been having” She said. I knew it was a lie because she didn’t want any of them besides her friend to know yet and that made me feel even worse knowing that she had to make up a lie like that for me.
“Ohhhh that makes sense” she said as she set me back down on the ground and wiped the tears from her eyes.

All of their faces started to soften up a bit and they all started to smile but there was one thing I noticed. While all of the unfamiliar faces gave genuine happy smiles the six ponies I first met all gave me sad looking ones. It was then that Twilight spoke up loud enough for everyone in the room to hear.

“Alright everypony how about we get this party started for the human of the hour.” After she finished those words the room burst into an uproar of cheers and hoofs stomping the ground and they a scattered to various parts of the room doing various things with the exceptions of the first seven I met. I then felt something touch my shoulder, it was Twilight’s hoof. “So what do you want to do first, we could go over to the snack table, we could play some games, or maybe we could all just talk” she said while giving me that calming smile of hers.

I thought about it for a moment but before I could decide my stomach answered for me. This caused them all to giggle a little which soon I joined them.

“How about we get you something to eat”

I nodded, then I got back on Twilight back and we made our way over to the snack table.

Twilight’s pov

We arrived at the snack table so I decided to ask what he wanted. “So Emerald what do you” before I could finish Pinkie interrupted

“Emerald is that what you named him”
“Oh yeah I forgot to tell you all, I thought about what you all said and after thinking about it I decided to go with Emerald Blaze but I had to ask him first and he said he like it so that’s his name at least for now.
“What do ya mean for now” asked Applejack.
“Well I just figured that when or if he ever got his memories back he would probably want to go back to his other name”
“But what if he likes the name you gave him better, I think it sounds pretty cool”
“I agree with Rainbow Dash darling perhaps he will like the name you chose for him better”
“Maybe, what do you think Emerald” I said turning my head to look at him. But when I did I noticed that he wasn’t even paying attention to the conversation he was just staring at all of the snacks so I decided I would ask him later. Rainbow apparently noticed him not paying attention to anything but the snacks to so she flew in front of him and waved a hoof in his face which snapped him out of it.
“Oh um I sorry what did you say”
“Its okay dude” she said while laughing a bit. “Anyway what do you think you want to snack on?”

He didn't say anything he just looked at the snacks and then back at Rainbow. He did this for a minute until finally he said.

“What can I have?”
This caused Rainbow to get a confused look on her face. “Um what do you mean?”

“I was just seeing what was acceptable for me to eat”

“What”
I decided to speak up because I think I had an idea of what he was talking about. “I think he’s asking us what we think he can have, right” he just nodded his head.

“Oh, well you can have whatever you want”

“Are you sure”

“Yeah I’m sure right Twilight”
“Of course, now how about we find you something to eat”
His smile widened at that as we then proceeded to look at what there was.

Emerald’s pov
10 min later

We finally found some chocolate chip cookies I wanted and they were very good. While I ate them I glanced at Twilight and noticed that she looked like she was in deep thought. I was about to ask her what she was thinking about but then that voice in my head came back.

It’s none of your business you idiot, if she wanted a stupid kid like you to know she would tell you, why don’t you try thinking for once and besides these things aren't your friends and you’re not theirs you don’t need to know what’s on their mind and you shouldn't tell them what’s on in yours.

Immediately after the voice in my head had stopped talking I decided to not ask her, I just continued to eat my cookie not even looking in any of their directions. Not even a minute later I hear three voices calling out to me. Well sort of, I don’t think they knew my new name yet so they ended up yelling “HEY HUMAN KID” which I just figured was referring to me which caused me to look in the direction of the voices. When I did I saw who it was it was, it was Sweetie Bell, Apple Bloom, and Scootaloo. The first to greet me with a hug was Scootaloo which kind of threw me off for a moment because I wasn't expecting it and she didn't seem like the touchy feely type, but I soon returned the hug none the less. It actually seemed to last a little longer then intended and it took her a minute to notice but once she did she immediately let go.

“S-S-Sorry about that” she said with a slight blush

“D-Don’t worry about it”

This caused the other two to giggle but when they were done both Apple Bloom and Sweetie Bell was done they also gave me a quick hug.

“Hey”

“Hey” they all said in unison.

“Girls he has a name now, its Emerald Blaze so you can call him that instead okay”
Scootaloo was the first to speak up about my new name. “Wow cool name dude”

“Yeah it fits ya perfectly”

“Defiantly”

“Thanks” I said blushing a bit from the complements. “Anyway what are you three doing here?”

“What do ya mean we wouldn't miss your party for all of Equestria”

“Yeah, totally”

“Hey didn't we come over here to ask him something”

“Oh yeah” said Apple Bloom in realization “We came to ask ya if” she was then cut off by Scootaloo.

“Do you want to join the Cutie Mark Crusaders” she said excitedly.
I just tilted my head to the side in confusion which I think Apple Bloom caught on to.

“Oh I’m sorry ya probably have no idea what where talking about, the Cutie Mark Crusaders is our club”

“Yeah we go on all sorts of adventures trying to get our cutie marks”

“Even though sometimes we get ourselves into sticky situations” Sweetie Bell giggled

I sort of understood a little bit better now but why did they what me in their group and what were cutie marks anyway. Suddenly I felt something on my shoulder, it was Twilight’s hoof.

“Um girls I hate to interrupt but I don’t think Emerald can get a cutie mark”

“WHAT” they all said rather loudly making a few others turn to look in our direction.

“Well since he’s not a pony he probably can’t get one”

“Oh” they said as they looked sadly at the ground, but then Scootaloo seemed to get her resolve back for as she spoke back up.

“That shouldn’t matter, even if he’s not a pony and can’t get a cutie mark he should still join, he could maybe.” She paused for a moment obviously trying to think of reasons for me to join but then it seemed to come to her. “He could help us try and get ours and we probably still could have fun trying all of the different thing we do to get our cutie marks together”

This seemed to bring Apple Bloom and Sweetie Bell out of their sadness and they both immediately agreed with Scootaloo.

“I don’t know girls”

“Please” they all said giving her this sort of pouty look.
It actually didn't take Twilight long to cave in. “Oh alright but promise me you with keep an eye on him and make sure he stays safe”

“Yea” they all cheered the Apple Bloom spoke “don’t worry Twilight will take good care of him after all he’s one of us now” she said as all three of the grabbed me for a group hug, I’m really not use to all of these hugs, not that there bad.

Twilight as well as the others who had been silent this whole time just smiled at the sight but then Twilight took a long pause as if she was in deep thought but then finally started to speak again. “Hey girls I have a favor to ask you three”

“What is it Twilight” said Apple Bloom.

“I was wondering if you could go take Emerald to play some of the games, maybe bobbing for apples or pin the tail on the pony”

“That sounds like a great idea, come on Emerald”

“Mind if I come” said Spike”

“Of course not Spike”

Apple Bloom and Sweetie Bell then dragged me by the sleeves with their teeth while Scootaloo came up from behind and pushed me along. I turned my head back for a second to see Twilight standing there and smiling at me and then she turned back to talk to her friends while I went with the Cutie Mark Crusaders and Spike.

Twilight’s pov

As I turned back to my friends a feeling of nervousness swept over me as I had a very important question to ask them but I wasn't sure how they would react.

“Hey girls I have a question”

“What is it Twi” Said Applejack.

“Well um I kind of been thing about it all day and there have been strange things I've been feeling towards Emerald and I know that it might be a little soon but um I-I….”

“Just spit it out already” said Rainbow.

I sighed as I knew that I had to say it no matter what.

“I was thinking about adopting him” I said very quickly.

It was uncomfortably silent for the longest time and I started to think that maybe this wasn’t such a good idea that is until Pinkie Pie stated talking.

“That’s a great idea Twilight that will probably make him so so so sooooo happy”

“Yes darling I agree it sounds wonderful”

“Yeah”

“Totally”

“That great Twilight, I think that it would be great for him to have a mother”

I just stood there with my mouth open a little not really expecting those responses. I mean I thought they might at least understand but I didn't think they would be full on board with the decision.

“Really none of you mined”

“Why would we”

“Well it’s just that I wasn't sure about how everypony would feel about it since he wasn't a pony and also he might still have parents somewhere he just can’t remember them”

“First of all Twilight it doesn't matter what anyone else thing all that matters it what you and him feel about it and secondly maybe he does still have parents but they’re not here right now so somepony has to look after the little guy, he already does seem to have taken a liking to ya”

“I guess your right”

“Of course I am, now then have ya already told him”

“Not yet I just wanted to talk to all of you first”

“Well like we all said we all think it’s a wonderful idea and no matter what will be there for both you and him”

The rest of the girls nodded in agreement which made me smile.

“Thank you girls”

30 min later

The party was coming to a close as ponies were leaving one after the other. The girls and Spike then brought Emerald back to me so I decided to ask him if he had a good time.

“So how was it, did you have fun?”

“Yeah” he said with enthusiasm “It was great, I actually think I won a game called pin the tail on the pony”

“That great”

He then yawned and started to rub his eyes.

“It seems like someone is tired” I said as I bent down and he got on my back

“Well I guess we should all be heading home” said Applejack as she head to the door with Apple Bloom

“Yeah I got some weather duties to do tomorrow.

“I also have some work to do”

“ Hey maybe after I’m done helping Mr. and Mrs. Cake tomorrow maybe I come over here to see how it went”

“How what went?” questioned Spike

“I’ll tell you later”
“We’ll see you later Twilight, Spike, you to Emerald”

All he did was waved his hand in acknowledgment but did say anything because he had his eyes closed while resting on my back as all of the left.

“Alright how about we all go get ready for bed” I said with a yawn of my own.

“What about telling me about what Pinkie was talking about”

“I promise I’ll tell you as soon as I get him to bed”

That seemed to satisfy his curiosity but now that left me with one more thing to think about. How was I going to ask him if he wanted to be my son, I thought as we made our way up the stairs.

With this chapter I actually changed things several times because I was unsure about want I really wanted to put. Anyway I'm not really sure How this one turned out, if it needs any changes just let me know in the comments and I'll see what I can do because I'm still trying to improve.

What family means to me part 1

Twilight’s pov

The sun stared to come through my window and right onto my face this caused me to crack open my eyes just a little. I was still exhausted because of last night’s party but regardless I knew I had to get up because of some big plans I had for today. I fully opened my eyes to see Emerald snuggling up to me still asleep which brought a smile to my face seeing how comfortable he was getting with me. As much as I would mind staying in bed like this I was to exited about today so I decided to go ahead and wake him up.

“Hey Emerald sweetie it’s time to wake up” I said softly nudging him a little to see if that would do the trick, luck for me it did. He stirred a little before opening his eyes and turning his head to look at me. A small smile then appeared on his face.

“Good morning Twilight” he said while rubbing one of his eyes.
“Good morning, how about we go ahead and get out of bed we have a busy day ahead of us”

“Really what are we doing?”

“It’s a surprise” I said a little teasingly.

He supplely nodded, probably not really sure what a surprise even was but even so I was determined not to say a word until the time was right. I got off the bed to let him on to my back and then we headed down stairs. When we got down to the first floor Spike was already down there eating some cereal. He then noticed us coming down the stairs.

“Good morning” he said.

“Good morning” we said.

“You want me to go ahead and make you two some breakfast, maybe some waffles or somthing”
I shook my head. “As nice as that sounds Spike I think I like to get a head start today, we’ll just get something at Sugar Cube Corner”

“Alright” was all he said but I could tell that he must have been just as excited as I was for today.

“So are you ready to go” I said turning my attention to Emerald.

“Yes if you are”

I nodded then we headed out the door to our first destination of the day.

5 min later

Once we arrived at Sugar cube corner we were immediately greeted by Pinkie who was smiling bigger then I use to think was possible that is before meeting her. Obviously the reason was she already knew what I planned on doing today since I told them everything at the party but hopefully he wouldn’t notice her extra extra happy mood.

“Hey guys what up, is there anything I can get you to?”

“As a matter of fact Pinkie there is, can you get me a blue berry muffin and for Emerald how does a chocolate chip muffin sound” I said looking at him for conformation.

“That fine” was all he said

“Okie dokie” Pinkie said as she went back as fast as she could to the kitchen

Once she left I let Emerald off my back and we went to go sit down. While we sat there waiting I looked at him looking down at his hands that were crossed on the table which made me wonder what was going though his mind right now. As I did this my mind started to wonder. I was thinking about how this was all going to turn out, if he would say yes or no to me adopting him and also when he did get his memories back what he would decide to do. Suddenly my thoughts were interrupted by Pinkie Pie’s sudden return.

“Here ya go enjoy” she said as she bounced back to the counter to tend to the other customers.

He just looked at the muffin in front of him, I guess he was just making sure it was safe to eat or something, so to show him it was alright I took a bit of mine first. Once I did he looked up at me then looked back at the muffin and after another minute he finally picked it up and took his first bite. Once he did his eyes opened wide in shock and I began to get worried but then once the shock left his eyes he continued to eat only this time at a much faster pace which kind of made me giggle a bit.

“So I take it you enjoyed it” I said as he ate the last bit before I even got to my second.
“It was really good Twilight” he said excitedly but then said in a much more quiet tone. “Do, Do you think maybe I could have another please”
I giggled a little “Maybe later” I said as I was glad that he enjoyed what I guessed was his first muffin.

It didn’t take me too long to finish mine as well and I figured it was time to head to our next stop Rarity’s. I talked to her yesterday about making him some new clothes and she said she would be more than happy to. We said our goodbyes to Pinkie as we went out the door and all along the way I kept thinking about my earlier thought about how he would react to my question.

Emerald’s pov

As we went to wherever it was we were going I began to wonder what Twilight was thinking about. I noticed that ever since this morning she had been acting a bit strange which made me a bit worried. If something was bothering her I would be happy to listen to her if she wanted to tell me just like she had done for me. Also I had been feeling more and more comfortable around her like no matter what I would be safe and my inner fears would stay at bay as long as she was around, this made me very happy. You know deep down she’ll just end up abandoning you because you’re worthless. It was that voice yet again, why, why does it continuously say these things. I didn’t want to believe them what I wanted to do was disagree and argue that it was wrong but I just couldn’t. Part of me believed those words; I mean I’m just some foreign creature that wound up in there world, why would they care about me. No one even knows who I am not even myself, which just gives me even less value. As I was lost in these pitiful thoughts suddenly there was a voice that came out of nowhere at least to me, calling my new name.

“Emerald, Emerald Blaze”
“Huh what” I said looking around curiously
“Emerald are you all right, I was starting to get worried when you didn’t answer me the first few times”
“Oh sorry about that, I was just thinking about something”
“What were you thinking about?”
“Don’t worry about it, it wasn’t anything important” I said giving her a strained smile. I don’t think she fully bought it but none the less I think she shrugged it off at least for now.
“Okay if you say so but just know that if something’s bothering you, you can always talk to me”
I just nodded my head.

“Anyway it looks like we’re here”
I looked to see that we had arrived at another one of her friend’s places, Rarity’s. Curiosity compelled me to ask “Why are we here.”

“Well yesterday when we were over here I asked Rarity if she could make you some new clothes and she said yes”

I didn’t really know what to make of this new information. On the one hand I was happy and excited because I was getting new clothes but on the other hand I was curious and a little scared mostly because I didn’t understand why she would agree to do this.

“She…she doesn’t have to make me something new if she doesn’t want to, I’m sure she must be busy and I don’t think” suddenly I was cut off by Twilight.
“Now Emerald I’m positive she doesn’t mind, she wouldn’t have said yes if she did and also I don’t want you to go without new clothes”
“Why”
“Why what”
“Why do I need clothes?”
She then became really red and started to stutter out a response. “W-Well you see um I oh boy how do I put this um well I’m no expert on human anatomy but um from what I might have heard and seen it’s considered indecent for a human not to wear clothes when there out in public”
“I’m still not sure if I understand”

“I’ll…I’ll explain more later okay, all you need to know right now is that it would be better if you had them.
I shrugged at that. “Okay”

She sighed in what sounded like relief and then turned her attention to Rarity’s door. She then knocked which cause what I assumed was Rarity to say come on in from the other side so we did. Once we walked in Rarity walked in from the other room.

“Oh Twilight, Emerald, just on time, I had just finished getting everything ready to make Emerald’s new clothes do come this way” she said heading back the way she came from so we followed. Once we got to the room she motioned for me to come over to her and said “can you come over here for a moment dear I need to take your measurements.

I did as she asked and got off of Twilight’s back to walk over to her. One I was right in front of her she looked me over and then went over to a desk. Suddenly something floated off of the desk and towards me which caused me to back up in fear.

Seeing me back away Rarity spoke up. “Don’t be afraid, this isn’t going to hurt you I promise”

I wasn’t really paying attention to what she was holding it was more to the fact that it was floating that freaked me out. Twilight then came next to me.

“Rarity I think he’s more afraid of the magic then he is the measuring tape”

I sudden look of realization came upon Rarity’s face but this just left me more confused.

“You don’t need to be afraid the magic isn’t going to hurt you, she just using it so she can take your measurements okay”

I was still a bit unsure but as long as Twilight said it was okay. Your seriously going to trust her, hahahahahahaha, your dumber then you look, the moment you let down your guard they’ll ether abandon, torture or kill you, of course that makes since seeing as how you’re not like them you’re not like anyone. Why would this voice not leave me alone? Every time I would get comfortable around them at least a little it would start to say all of these horrible things about both me and them. Because the truth hurts and the truth is that no one will ever care about a monster like you. I just wished it would stop, I hated these feelings but it was like I couldn’t control it like it was just a part of me that I had to live with. That’s because I am a part of you the real you. It said as darkness surrounded my vision.

Twilight’s pov

It appeared as if he had spaced out as Rarity and I continued to try and get his attention but to no avail. Then Rarity sighed and said.

“I suppose I can still take his measurement since he is holding still and then will take him to the other room and try and lay him down on the couch”
“Alright” I said as rarity brought the measuring tape to Emerald. But then something else strange happened. The magic that was surrounding it suddenly vanished once it touched him and it dropped to the ground. This apparently also caused him to snap out of it as he responded with a “huh” and look around again in confusion.
“What happened” he said
“You spaced out again and we were just about to take your measurements when” I trailed off at the end of my sentence. At first I was unsure if he knew about his body’s reaction to magic but going but his reaction to Rarity’s a moment ago I would say he doesn’t even know it exists.
“Never mind, Anyway how are you feeling, if there’s anything bothering you, you can always talk to me”
He shook his head “N-No that’s a-alright it’s nothing to w-w-worry a-about” he said giving me that same smile he did earlier but again I chose not to push it.

“Alright but if you change your mind I’d be more than happy to lend you an ear”

He nodded at this so then I turn to Rarity.

“Will you still be able to take his measurements even without using magic?”

“Of course darling, it might take a minute more but it’s easily doable.” She then looked at the measuring tape on the floor than back at me. “Though it might be easier if you assist me”

“Alright”

We then proceeded to each grab a end of it and measure him. About a few minutes later we were finished so rarity told us that his new outfit should be ready by this afternoon and that we could come back later to pick it up.

“Okay see you later Rarity”

“Aright Darlings see you later”

We then made our way out the door but the only problem was I had no idea what we were doing next. I thought we would have been at Rarity’s longer so we were ahead of schedule a bit and the surprise I had planed wasn’t until it got dark out so we still had plenty of time. I looked back at him and he still looked like he was deep in thought. He had been like that ever since he snapped out of his thoughts earlier but now he was doing it again, I just wish he would tell me what was bothering him and maybe I could help him. As we were walking I continued to think of something to do when suddenly it came to me. I decided that maybe we could just spend the rest of the day relaxing at the park and I could tell him a little bit about equestria. There weren’t many ponies at the park today which meant it would be nice and quiet for us to talk. I walked over to a nearby bench and bent down.

“Emerald Sweetie” I said hopping he would answer this time, luckily he did.

“Yes” he said barely looking at me.

“How about you and I talk a little, you can sit on the bench next to me”

He did what I asked him to do and I sat next to him thinking of where to start.

“So how about I tell you a few things about Equestria which by the way is what the country is called.

He looked up at me with a little more interest so I took that as a sign to continue.

“Alright then next is this town is called Ponyville and are species are called ponies which you might have already figured out, but Ponies aren’t the only species there are also dragons which is what Spike is and Gryphon’s but I’ll get into them a little bit later”

We talked like that for a good hour or two. It was mostly about ponies in general like the different types Pegasi, Unicorns, Earth, and Alicorn ponies. Also what we ate, what some of us did for fun stuff like that? The last thing I talked about involving pony society was all of the princesses myself included. He didn’t understand what the term royalty meant at first but once I explained in thoroughly enough to where I think he understood it and explained that I could be considered to be in this class I immediately regretted it. This is because I noticed the looked of fear on his face as he got off of the bench and bowed to me. I figured it was because I had explained Alicorns so well and how powerfull they were combined with what royalty was, that was the only reason he would have done it in his current condition considering that he had amnesia and he probably wouldn’t have know what classified as royalty here since he wasn’t from equestria. This saddened me greatly especially if since I wanted to adopt him and I didn’t want him to treat me any differently than a son would a mother, if he said yes. I told him to get up and that he didn’t have to do that. He nodded meekly as he got back up on the bench still with that same look of fear evident in his eyes. I thought it was best to move on to the next topic something that I hoped would interest him and maybe distract him from his fears, humans or at least what I knew about them from visiting a human world.

“How about we move on to a different topic, humans”

This immediately caught his attention.

“I believe you now know that’s what you are after your encounter with lyra but nothing else”

He nodded sadly

“While I’ll admit I don’t know a great deal about them I do know a few things that I can tell you”

He smiled excitingly awaiting in anticipation for me to talk about his species. I was sure that he would be happy to learn as much as he could of his species at least.

Spike’s pov

I was on a nearby hill at the edge of Ponyville setting up a picnic for Twilight, Emerald, and Myself. After Twilight had told me that she was planning on adopting Emerald I became very excited and I want to help any way I could so when she said she wasn't she how to do it we stayed up for a couple of hours think about it. Twilight then remembered that there was suppose to be a meteor shower tonight and suggested that maybe he would like to see it. I then told her that I could make us something to eat while we enjoy the show; she thought it was a great idea. Next we decided that she would keep him busy while I set everything up which is pretty much what I’m finishing up doing now and just as the sun was going down to. They probably would be here soon which made me even more excited because I really wanted him to be a part of our family I mean Twilight was already like a mom to me so that means that if she adopted him he would be my brother. I never have had many male friends before so it would be nice to have someone to hang out with that might have been around my age and who was a guy. As I continued to think about what would happen I noticed a very familiar purple carrying a very familiar human on her back heading in my direction.

Twilight’s pov

While we were talking I almost didn’t notice the sun going down so when I did I decided that it was time to end our little talk at least for now. He was kind of disappointed that I couldn’t tell him anymore but once I told him that I had a surprise for him this immediately got his attention. I told him to get back on and then we headed for our last stop for the evening. I had told spike to get everything ready for a picnic tonight while I kept Emerald busy and now all that had to be done was to get him there and hope everything was ready. It wasn’t very far to the particular hill that I had chosen, in fact I could already see it within a few minutes and I could sort of see spike in the distance and it looked like he had everything ready. It only took another minute to reach the hill and Emerald was actually the first to great Spike when he saw him.

“Hey Spike, what are you doing out here” he ask curiously.
Spike looked at me for permission to tell him when I nodded my head Spike told Emerald what was going on. “Well buddy Twilight and I thought it would be a good idea to surprise you with a picnic tonight and also there a couple of extra surprises yet to come” he said with a big smile.

“Why…..why would you want to go through all of the trouble of doing that just for me?”

I’ll admit I was a little confused by the question but seeing how he had acted since he had gotten here and the fact that he didn’t have any memories it really shouldn’t have been a surprise. After a minute of think of a response I finally knew the answer.

“Because I, I mean we wanted to”

“But” I gently put my hoof to his mouth and smiled sincerely.

“I already know what you’re going to say and the answer is simple” I took a deep breath and look into his eye. I was still afraid and I could tell that he was to but behind him I noticed Spike mouthing the words “you can do this.” That gave me just the extra bit of confidence I needed and as the sun had finally set and the meteor shower had started to light up the night sky the words finally came out. “Will you be my son”

Author's Notes:

With this chapter I had a lot of different directions I wanted to go and I really could make up my mind so I decided to split it up into parts to give me more time to think. Anyway I didn't want him to just be simply adopted I wanted to kind of go back and forth between his fears and reactions to things and also Twilight's thoughts and actions meaning how she handles/treats him since he doesn't have any memory's, I hope I did a fairly decent job. What family means to me part 2

Emerald’s pov

I had no idea what to say I mean I wasn’t even sure what being someone’s son meant and although I knew stuff like what moms and dads were and that it had to do with being a son I was still greatly confused so there was only one response I could give at the time.

“What”

“Well you see I’ve been thinking about it for some time now and I kind of feel like we’ve become really close so I figure that maybe we could become a family”

I was stunned at her response but also a little happy to. I could believe someone would actually want me it was just so unbelievable and yet it was happening.

“You don’t even have any memoires so I’m sure you’ll be thrown away soon or later”
This time I decided to speak up to the voice.
“They…they wouldn’t do that”
“Are you sure”
“Of course I am I mean why would she ask me to be her son if she was just going abandon me later”
“Because it’s in every living creature’s nature to lie”
“That’s not” it then interrupted me.
“It is true and you know it, everyone lies, cheats, steals, and is full of hatred, why else would you be so afraid all the time without even knowing why, it’s because with or without your memories you know this too be true”
“But Twilight and the others would never”
“Never what, lie to you hate you for hate you for being different, seriously how stupid are you, of course they would never say that to your face, that’s what a lie is you idiot”
“But still they wouldn’t” again I was interrupted this time with a heavy sigh.
“Fine if you continue to not believe me then I’ll just have to show you”
“Show me what”
“The truth that no matter what you do no one will ever care about you”

All of a sudden everything outside of my mind seemed to stand still and faded away to black. When all of the color finally came back to me I was standing in the middle of what look to be a flower garden I think but I wasn’t alone just a few feet away from me was two young children of that same species I saw in that dream which I now knew were called humans. One looked to be male with short brown hair and the other one female with a long blond ponytail and they were both dressed kind of formally. They didn’t seem to be able to see me because they didn’t respond to my presence at all so I got a little bit closer. As I did I could hear them talking which pique my curiosity so I listened in on their conversation?

“W-What” said a shocked at utterly hurt boy.

“You heard me; I said that you’re an abomination” said the girl

“B-B-But why, why would you say that I thought we were friends” he said on the verge of tears.

“Friends ha don’t make me laugh we were never friends my parents just told me to act friendly towards you because of who your mother and father are”
She then approached him and pushed him to the ground and leaned over him. “But now that they’re done sucking up to them there’s really no need to be nice to you anymore now is there” she said with a sinister smile.

Suddenly other young children came out from behind some nearby trees. They all approached the two with the same smile that girl had and when they got close enough the girl that was already there backed away and there others stared to kick and beat up the boy that was helplessly crying on the ground barely able to say anything except one word over and over again

“Why”

This horrified me and I wanted to help him but something was hold me back and even if I could have approached them I didn’t know if it would have made a difference. After I had witnessed all of that everything faded to black one again and the voice continued to speak to me.

“Do you see now what I mean, creatures whether they are human, pony or something else lie and hate others just because they can”
I could barely respond but I managed somehow “But how could they do that to him why would they do that to him”
It then started to laugh “seriously even that you don’t remember I was sure that you would remember something like your first heart break”

It took me a minute to get what he was saying but when I did all the color that I had left in my face drained away immediately and this time I couldn’t even respond.

“I see it finally sunk in to that thick head of your”

Again I gave no response.

“It seems like my work here is done so I guess for now I leave you alone with you knew mommy” it said mockingly “we’ll talk again later” it said laughing as it’s voice faded and everything seemed to start up again. I didn’t want to but for some reason I did, I looked up into Twilight’s eyes with fear and hurt in mine. Then the tears slowly but surely came pouring out which caused Twilight to become increasingly worried.

“What’s wrong Emerald” she said as she brought a hoof closer to my face to wipe away my tears but this only made things worse as the events of those other children were still fresh in my mind. I batted her hoof away and before she could even say anything I immediately got up and ran. I didn’t know where I was running to and at the moment I didn’t care all I knew was I couldn’t stay here.

Twilight’s pov

I had no idea what just happened I mean one minute everything seemed to be going just fine and then the next he’s in tears and running off.

“What was that all about” Spike said clearly just as confused as I was.

“I don’t know but were going to get to the bottom of it, you go tell the rest of our friends what happened and meet us at the library while I go chase after him”

Spike nodded and then ran off to find the others while I ran in the same direction Emerald did. I was really concerned by his resent actions. He had always seemed afraid and cautious around things he didn’t know about including us ponies but he had never smacked away my hoof like that before a he seemed even more afraid than usual I just really wanted to know why. I didn’t think it would be that hard to find him but as it turned out it was because no matter where I looked at I couldn’t find him. Also I had a feeling any kind of detection spells wouldn’t work since magic that was directed at him didn’t work so far. I then came across a pony going for a midnight stroll so I decided to ask her if she had seen him. She pointed me in a direction so I said thank you and took off in that direction. But as I was galloping I soon realized where I was heading and came to an immediate halt. Right in front of me was the everfree forest.

“No he couldn’t have” I said to myself but I knew that it was true especially since someone pointed me in this exact direction. This was bad this was very bad. I wanted to run in there after him but I knew that I shouldn’t do that alone so I ran as fast as I could to the library in hopes that Spike had already gathered everyone.
When I got back to the library I threw open the door which startled everypony and caused them to look in my direction.

“Great you’re all here”
Applejack was the first to speak. “What’s going on Twilight and where Emerald at”
Before I could respond Pinkie interrupted. “Yeah when spike came to get up all he said was it was about Emerald and he had this really worried face”

“Yeah come on what happened” said Rainbow
I was getting frustrated with all the interruption but I didn’t let it show. “As I was trying to say Emerald got really upset about something and ran off and when I went to go find him somepony pointed me in the direction of” I paused and sighed sadly still wishing it wasn’t true. “The everfree forest”

“WHAT” everyone including Spike said in unison.
Rainbow then spoke up again “Well what are we waiting we have to go get him”

“I agree darling I can’t even imagine what the poor dear must be going though right now”

Usually I would want to think of a plan first but I this time we didn’t have time for that so I agree.

“You’re right let’s go”

As everyone else headed out the door and I was about to I saw spike about to follow.

“I’m sorry Spike but I need you to stay here”

“But Twilight I want to help find him to”

“I know you do but I need you here just in case he comes back or something else happens”
He still looked sad that I told him to stay behind but I think he understood. “Alright Twilight but please hurry and find him”

“I will” I said as I ran out the door and joined the others with determination driving me to finding him. Please be safe Emerald.

Emerald’s pov

I had been running for so long without actually knowing where I was going that I was now lost but it didn’t even matter nothing did. I was surrounded by trees and I kept look around in fear because it felt like the whole forest was watching me but nonetheless I continued on. As I did that voice returned to make me even more miserable but now it was my only company.

“This is for the best they would have treated you like the garbage you are anyway”

“Why are you still talking to me, didn’t you already get what you wanted”

“I did to an extent but the fun is just beginning”

“You call this fun”

“For me it is and because it isn’t for you that just makes it that much better”

“Why do I even bother talking to you?”

“Because you know as well as I that I’m all you have left”
I sighed “yeah I do”

I walked further into the forest trying to ignore anything else it said but while I was doing this I hear something behind me which caused me to freeze. It was this low pitched growling sound and I really didn’t even want to turn around to see what it was but I knew I had to. When I did then installed even more fear into me which the voice inside me loved. Behind me were these creatures made completely of what looked like wood but I could barely see them except for their eyes so I wasn’t entirely sure. They continue to approach me ready to pounce at any moment but before they got the chance I took off as fast as I could. I didn’t expect to out run them but I did at least hoped that when they did catch me they would at least make it a quick and painless death.

“Now we can’t have that now can we the fun is just beginning”

“What” was the only response I could give before my head began to pond and my heart started to beat faster and faster. Before I knew it I had stopped and they had pounced. I thought I was as good as dead because everything had faded to black once again but that apparently wasn’t the case because I woke up just seconds later and the creatures made of wood were gone.

“What, What did you do” I thought with concern while all he did was snicker.

“What makes you think it was me”

“I know it was now tell me what you did”

“I just help your powers along that's all”

“Powers what powers”

“You’ll find out soon enough”

I didn’t even what to know what that meant so I just continued to walk. I soon came out off the wooded area but came across something else entirely. It was a rickety old bridge with a few missing planks and across from that was what looked like an old rundown building. I did really want to go there but seeing as I had no were else to go I decided to go there anyway. I carefully walked across the bridge and a few times I thought I was going to fall but I didn’t. As I finally made it to the other side I looked up in awe at the structure, it was much bigger then what I thought it was from the other side. I slowly walked in at took a look around, there was something about this place although I couldn’t put my finger on it. I had no idea what to do now so I just stood there alone and in the dark with only my thoughts which I didn’t even want. As I stood there a song came out of nowhere and popped right into my head. I had no idea where it came from or how I knew the lyrics but I had nothing better to do so I decided I might as well sing out loud to myself so I began.

When I finished I felt even worse. I just wanted things to go back to the way they were before I listened to that stupid voice. the only response I got was a small chuckle but nothing else. I was now full of misery, regret, loneliness, and much, much more but there was nothing I could do about it. All of a sudden I heard someone calling my name and I thought it was just my imagination but when I heard it again this time closer and louder what I saw shocked me. It was Twilight along with all of her friends.

Twilight’s pov

20 min earlier

We had just entered the forest and I couldn’t help but wonder if we would find him and if I could finally get to the bottom of why he was so afraid. As we were walking I felt a hoof come around me, it was Applejack.

“Don’t worry Twi I’m sure will find him and that he’s alright”
I sighed apparently I had been obviously worried because all of my friends were looking at me with concern. “I know Applejack it’s just that I’m worried is all, I just want to know why he ran off like that and why he’s so afraid, I mean I know that he doesn’t have any memories but it feels like it’s more than that and I just want to know why” I said looking at the ground with a sadden expression.

“One we find him well makes sure to ask him”

“Do you really think he’ll give us an answer, what if he runs again” said Fluttershy.

“This time since there is more of us we’ll make sure he does run off and then once we do well take him back to ponyville” said Rainbow Dash

“Agreed”

“Yes indeed”

We continued to walk as I now had a new resolve to find him and find out what was going on. We were at least halfway through the forest and almost to the old abandoned castle were we found the elements but still no sign of Emerald. Then all of a sudden Pinkie Pie gasped and ran over to something she apparently saw. We followed right behind her and saw exactly what it was. There were foot prints and they defiantly were not ponies.

“Well at least we know were on the right track” I said but then I noticed some other foot prints behind his and unfortunately I knew exactly what kind they were. “Are, Are those Timerwolf tracks” I said horrified that something had happen to Emerald.

“Looks like they were going that direction”

We all followed the prints until all of a sudden they came to a stop. We all began to fear the worst but then as we were look around for any more evidence I found some more of Emeralds tracks minus the Timberwolves.

“Hey everyone over here”

“What is it Twilight” said an enthusiastic Pinkie Pie.

“Look it’s some more of Emerald’s foot prints but I don’t see any of the Timberwolves”

“That’s great the little fella must have gotten away”

“Maybe but how I mean they weren’t that far behind him and I doubt they would have given up”

We all looked at each other clearly confused but I saw that his tracks still continued so we would just have to get to the bottom of it later. We followed them until we were finally out of the forest and right in front of the bridge which is where the tracks seemed to stop.

“Hey maybe he went to the castle ruins” said Rainbow

We all agreed and headed over there immediately but as we did we all of a sudden heard singing. It was kind of hypnotizing but none the less we pressed on and arrived to the castle where apparent the singing was coming from and what we saw and heard shocked us.

Emerald’s pov

“What, What are they doing here” I thought

“There probably here to make sure you never came back”

“I don’t know if they would go that far”

“After all that’s transpired you still doubt me”
“Well I” before I could finish I was interrupted except this time it wasn’t the voice it was Twilight who had her hoofs wrapped around me tightly.

This confused me greatly and it seemed to only irritate the voice so I decided to find out what they were doing here and how they found me.

“W-What a-are you all doing h-here”

This caused Twilight to let go of me and the others to come closer.

“What do you mean we came to bring you home of course.”
I think that just made me more confused but I replied nonetheless. “W-What do you mean by home I don’t have a home I don’t have anything”
Suddenly Twilight raised her voice a bit which startled me since she had never done that to me before. “Emerald Blaze Sparkle”

Wait what, when did she add Sparkle to my name. She then continued to Speak.

“I want you to please quit thinking like that and please tell us what’s wrong” she said with a sorrowful expression.

I couldn’t take it anymore I was just about to finally tell them when the voice interrupted.

“I wouldn’t do that if I were you, what am I talking about I am you” it said with a laugh.

“But I”

“But what, you think that after all of this they’ll still except you, you think they care about you just because they say they do, what did I say, I said they were lies ever living creature lies” it said practically screaming.
Finally I had, had enough. “Then you’re no different” I shouted back to which I got no response. “If what you’re saying is true than you’re probably lying to me to right in fact I bet you’re the only one who has been lying to me”

“So what, that still doesn’t change what others have done too”
This time it was my turn to interrupt. “So what, all of that stuff is in the past and even if those were my memories and all of that stuff was true I don’t truly believe that Twilight, Spike, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie are like that at all”

“You fool what make you so sure”

“I’m not but that won’t stop me from believing in them, but you know what I am sure of, that I’m done talking to you”
He just laughed that same laugh of his but something seem darker about it, then he said “for now maybe but don’t think for even a second that this will be the last time we talk because remember I am you and you can’t escape from yourself”

That’s the last thing he said before leaving me alone with Twilight and the others and immediately I knew what I had to do.

“I’m sorry”

“What” she said in confusion which matched the faces of the others.

“I-I said I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you worry or slap you hoof away when you tried to comfort me” by this point tears were freely falling down my face but I didn’t care. All I cared about was telling her what I truly felt. “C-Can you e-e-ever f-forgive me” I said hugging her and burying my head in her chest.

She didn’t answer at first at I almost thought that meant no but then I felt something wet like rain hit the top of my head so lifted my head to look but what I was wasn’t rain it was Twilight crying as well except she had a small smile on her face. I was about to ask her what was wrong but she said something before I could.

“Yes, Yes I can…on one condition”

“What is it?”

“Will you please be my son?”

I couldn’t believe it after all I had put her through she still wanted me to be a part of her family to call me her son. I was overcome with emotions that I didn’t fully understand but I knew one thing they were all good all very, very good. I couldn’t take it anymore so hugged her even more and with a smile on my face I said.

“Yes, Yes I will”

I think I liked making this part more then the other. I sure why though.
Anyway this chapter was finished a whole lot sooner then i had anticipated but I suddenly got an idea so I went with it.
For this chapter and the previous one I tried to focus on Twilight and Emerald and what was going through there head even more so then usual, I'm not sure how well I did but I hope it was alright.
As for the song I found I think it works at least for that moment although I had to listen to it several times to make sure and i really began to like it the more i listened to it.

Bonus ch1: Voice of Truth

Author's Notes:

Hey everyone, I finally decided to write my very first bonus chapter for my story Never forget. It is mostly to help keep track of some of the things that might need further explanation that I decided not to use for the main story but you don't have to read them to be able to keep up with the story. But since a few people thought it would be a good idea I decided to go ahead and do it. Also If you notice anything that you think might need to be a bonus chapter or if you notice any mistakes in ether the continuity of the chapter or the grammar you can let me know in the comments. Thank you and another bonus chapter might be on the way soon because I do have an idea for another one.

Emerald's pov

We had finally arrived back to Twilight’s home which was now my home as well and the first thing we see when walking through the door was Spike pacing back and forth. He seemed to have a look of worry on his face so much so that he did not even notice us coming in. At first I didn't know what he was worried about but then it dawned on me, it was me. This made me feel even worse and I knew he was someone else that I needed to apologize to. Twilight then spoke which broke Spike and me out of our worries.

“Spike what are you still doing up, it is after midnight so you should have been in bed hours ago”

When spike noticed us he immediately ran towards us and hugged Twilight tightly while also sobbing lightly. “I-I was just so w-worried Twilight, I-I just could sleep”

Twilight just had a gentle smile on her face while she hugged him back. Once they were done she knelt down for me to get off her back and once I did spike was immediately by my side and began to hug me even more tightly then he seemed to Twilight. I was sort of confused by this but it most defiantly wasn't unwelcomed so I hugged him back. We then let each other go and he asked me the question that I really didn't want to answer.

“Why, why did you run away?”

I just looked away in shame. I did really know how to tell them about the voice and I didn't want them to think I was crazy or hate me because of it. But I also knew that after my confrontation with it that they might understand and that there was this feeling that I couldn't understand when I was around Twi I mean mom that was something that told me she would be there for me no matter what. Just as if she had read my mind she placed a hoof on my shoulder all the while having that same gentile smile on her face. The helped comforted me just enough to possibly tell them the truth.

“I would like to know as well, was it something I did or maybe said”

“No no of course not it’s just” I hesitated. I didn't want to think of me in a bad way but I knew that I had to tell them the truth otherwise it could make things worse. I took a deep breath and decided to start at the beginning at least what I could remember of it. “I-I was scared and c-confused”

“Why sweetie” Twilight said as she rubbed my back urging me to continue.

“W-Well there, there was this v-voice” I finally said

“Voice?”

“Y-Yes, it said t-that you were l-lying to me, t-that you didn't really l-love me” I said as the tears started to come out.

“That isn’t true, I would never and I mean never lie to you about something like that, you’re important to me”

“And me” came spike.

“Yes and Spike” giggled Twilight, she then turned back to me. “You probably just didn't know how to respond and were already scared and cautions without your memories so it’s understandable that”

“NO” I interrupted but then quickly apologized “s-sorry it’s just that i-it was my voice b-but it wasn't at the same time”

She looked confused so I decided to explain it the best way that I could.

“I-I got this strange feeling f-from it like it was someone else, I-I know that sounds crazy but i-it’s true it was like someone else was using my voice”

She looked away as if she was in deep thought about this and Spike was off to the side looking between us probably trying to figure out what to say to which he finally did say something.

“Maybe there is more to this Twilight”

“What do you mean?”

“Well it’s not like magic doesn't exist here, maybe it was some kind of spell that was the cause”

“Maybe but” she then looked at me like she wanted to tell me something and then looked back at Spike. “We both know that not possible”

“Why” I said

“Oh well i-it’s just that um it’s” she seemed hesitant which stared to bring up those fears again but this time I knew I couldn't let them control me especially if I wanted that voice to stay away. Spike then decided to speak up.

“It’s probably because magic doesn't work on you”

Mom glared at him while I was kind of shocked. What did he mean, I mean I knew that magic existed here but what I didn't know was if there were creatures that magic didn't work on.

“What, what does he mean”

Twilight sighed “what he means is exactly what he said, magic apparently has no effect on you”

“Are there creatures it doesn't work on?”

“Not to anyponies knowledge, even others that have magic it works on so that it why I don’t understand why it does not work on you”

“Why didn't you want to tell me?”

“I was just worried about what would happen if I did say anything, I guess even I’m afraid of the unknown sometimes”

I defiantly knew that feeling so I wasn't really mad about it so I placed my hand on her to let her as a sign to let her know that which I think she understood.

“Alright now that that is out of the way what are we going to do about those voices” said Spike.

“Oh right, well if this wasn't just his subconscious fears and it wasn't magic then I am not really sure what else it could be”

This made me start to lose hope that I would ever figure this out but then mom spoke again.

“But that doesn't mean there’s not an answer, I promise no I can do better than that I Pinkie Pie Promise that I will find an answer I’ll just have to look for one and I’ll ask the other princesses about it and see if they know anything”

I was really glad that she would go out of her way for me but also a little worried that maybe I was asking for too much which I think she picked up on.

“Now don’t you worry this won’t be a problem beside I would do anything for you your my son after all” she said as she pulled me into a hug. We both noticed Spike hadn't joined us so we told him to join in to which he did, this was my first family hug and it felt great. We then broke the hug and I suddenly yawned.

“Looks like someone’s sleepy how about we go get ready for bed”

I nodded as I climbed onto her back and all three of us went upstairs to get ready for bed.

“So does this mean that were all a family now”

“Yes Spike yes it does”

“Yes”

I was starting to doze off at this point but right before I did I heard the most important pony and dragon in my life talking about how they were both so happy to have a new son and brother and that they couldn't wait to spend even more time with me.

Planning for the future

Author's Notes:

Just thought I'd start this chapter off with explaining a few things. For example describing the main character in both appearance and personality more thoroughly since I don't think I have yet and I wanted to say that the next few chapters will be more or less slice of life chapters just to establish a few things.

Anyway I've kind of been wanting to talk about his appearance for a while now so here it is. he has Long black hair like it hasn't been cut in a while, it come to about the middle of his back. His eyes are a turquoise color. Also as for right now he is pretty much wearing rags or rather torn up clothes but that will changes soon since Rarity made him clothes he just hastn't gotten them yet. And as for his height compared to the ponies he's about the size of a normal filly or colt if not an inch or two smaller. I kind of watch a lot of anime so I might of gotten some ideas from that or at least the direction I wanted to go in.

moving on to his personality besides the memories loss , It's pretty easy to explain. First of all he can be very mature for his age but cautious as well but that's mostly due to the amnesia. His personality will develop later on but that's all I can really say for now because as of right now he only really has a few noticeable traits and the biggest one that has probably stood out the most is fear.

I just wanted to describe these things just so people would know if they wanted to and if there are anymore questions about the character just ask and I'll try and answer if I can. Twilight’s pov

The sun had began to shine through the window beside my bed and onto my face which immediately caused me to stir a little but it was not enough to get me completely out of bed. All of a sudden I heard what sounded like Spike calling my name but I was still a bit tired and drowsy that I shrugged it off and continued to sleep, that is until I heard my name this time along with Emerald’s being yelled.

“Hey Twilight, Emerald are you Two going to sleep all day”

This caused me to jerk up out of bed and look at what time it was, it was 10:30. I usually never sleep this late but I guess after we had gotten back home so late and then having Emerald explain as best as he could why he ran away that it was well after midnight when everypony went home and we when to bed. I then felt something snuggle up closer to me under the covers so I lifted them back to see Emerald still laying there asleep with one arm around me and his face kind of slightly rubbing up against my fur. This was one of the cutest things I had ever seen and I didn’t really want it to end but I knew that we had been asleep for long enough and that we probably should get up now. I lightly stroked the top of his head with my hoof and whispered in his ear.

“It’s time to get up Emerald sweetie you don’t want to sleep the whole day away do you”

He stirred a little slowly opened his eyes and looked up at me and smiled.

“Good morning Twi I mean Momma”

“Good morning Emerald did you sleep well”

He just nodded while snuggling up closer to me. This was something I don’t think he would normally do but after opening up about some of the stuff that was bothering him last night I think it really helped him to learn to trust us more. This got me thinking about what he did tell us. All about that voice he said he heard since he arrived here and something about a vague dream he had the other day. I wasn’t entirely sure what it all meant but what I did know is that we would figure it out together. Suddenly my thoughts were interrupted by a touch to one of my wings which was Emerald who was looking at me worriedly, I must have been thinking for too long so for now I decided to push those thoughts aside and enjoy the day with my son.

“Come on let’s go see what we can fix for lunch” I said with a smile.

He smiled back as we got out of bed and made our way down stairs. Spike was of course already down there reading one of his comic books but when we came down he look up.

“Hey you two finally decided to get up”

“You know we had a perfectly good reason for sleeping so late which by the Spike why are you up so early usually you like to sleep in”
He shrugged his shoulders “I don’t know I guess it’s become sort of a habit since you’ve been waking me up so early”

“Yeah I guess your right” I said with a light chuckle.”Anyway were going to go have a quick bite to eat and then I am going to take him by the school to meet Cherilee”

Emerald just looked at me in confusion so I figured I should explain it to him before I forgot.

“You see Emerald I thought it would be a good idea if you went to school like all of the other children and that way you can learn and make some new friends all at the same time”

He looked down at the ground with a hint of fear in his eye, which I knew I couldn’t let that stay there and I knew just the way to hopefully get rid of it.

“There’s no need to worry you’ll already no three little fillies in your class, Apple bloom, Sweetie bell e and I am sure that they’ll be able to help you make even more friends”

This seemed to ease his fear just at the mention of the three names which made me glad that I was able to suppress it now. I left him with spike while I made us a couple of sandwiches which didn’t take too long and one we finished eating we headed out the door.

“We should be too long Spike were just going to do a few things and then we’ll be right back”

“Alright I’ll probably just hang around here today so I’ll see you when you get back”

And with that we were out the door and heading to the school.

Emerald’s pov

We were on our way to a place called a school which made me a little more than nervous. My new mom had explained to me what a school was and that there would be a lot of fillies and colts there around my age. The only once that I met that I think we’re close to my age were Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom, and Scootaloo but I wasn’t entirely sure of that since I didn’t even know how old I was. Regardless of that and my nerves may as long as I had them there I would be okay. Speaking of the three my mind suddenly began to drift only to Scootaloo and something strange I had been feeling ever since I met her. I wasn’t sure what it was exactly but all I knew was that it didn’t feel like something bad. Maybe I should ask mom about it now that I not as afraid to tell her things.

“Hey Emerald were almost there”

I just nodded while still in my own thoughts

“Is something the matter, you know you can tell me anything”
I looked at her for a minute and then nodded. “As a matter of ther-“Suddenly three voices called out to us and one of them particularly stood out to me.

“Hey Twilight, Hey Emerald” said the very three fillies that were on my mind not too long ago.

“Hey girls, did school just let out for the day”
They nodded vigorously. “As a matter of fact we were just comin to see if Emerald wanted to hang out” Apple bloom said as she looked at Emerald.

“Yeah and I wanted to show you some new moves that I’ve been practicing with my scooter” Scootaloo said slightly hovering above the ground.

“I would like to but momma and I have something to do first”
All three of them look a little dejected after hearing that especially Scootaloo and I was about to say something but mom beat me to it

“Don’t worry you all will be seeing a lot more of him soon”

This seemed to pique the curiosity as they all looked at Twilight and me.

“You see girls I was thinking of putting Emerald in the same school as you all that way he can learn and also make some new friends at the same time, We were just heading there now to talk to Cherilee”

All three girl just couldn’t contain there excitement as they began to jump around Twilight. Then Scootaloo stopped beside Twilight and looked at me with a gleam in her eyes.

“That is so awesome that me and you and um of course Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle Will get to see like all the time” She said with a slight blush.

I saw Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle look at each other and grin and then I looked at mom who looked like she was putting together some sort of puzzle. Was there something that I wasn’t getting ether way I would figure it out later?

“Well girls maybe Emerald can hang out with you all after we’re done talking to Cherilee”

“Yeah defiantly” I said

“Alright then, hey do mind if we go ahead and wait at the library”

“Of course not spike is still there so if you need anything just ask him alright”

“Alright” all three of them said in unison as they began to run in the direction of the library why’ll waving back at us.

We waved back and then we continued on our way to the school.

Scootaloo’s pov

We were now heading to the library when I all of a sudden heard snickering behind me which caused me to let out a deep sigh. I turned around to glare at the two culprits.

“What” I said somewhat annoyed.

“Oh it’s nothing” Apple Bloom said with that grin still on her face.

“Then Sweetie Belle with the same grin said “it just that” she then paused as her and Apple Bloom look at each other and began to sing a familiar melody that really didn’t want to here right now.

“Scootaloo and Emerald sitting in a tree k-i-s-s-i-n-g”

“Oh shut up” was the only response I could give as I picked up the pace. This was one of the most embarrassing things to ever happen to me and having these two know made it even worse.

“Were only pickin scoots”

“Yeah we actually think it’s really great that you've found your special somepony”
I turned around as quickly as I could with my face being as red as it could possibly be. “He is NOT my special somepony”

“Oh come on it is defiantly obvious that ya like him “

“Yeah so why not just tell him already”

“Well um I well you see it’s just that” I just couldn't seem to find the right words. Even I had to admire that it was painfully obvious to everypony, everypony except Emerald thank goodness. It’s just that when I first met him and I started to feel this way I wasn't really sure what to make of it. I mean I’m not use to feeling this way and I am not really sure what to do. It’s like I can’t really control what I say and do when I’m around him or even thinking about him for that matter. Also even if I did end up telling him what would I say and what if he doesn't feel the same way, we did just meet a few days ago after all. I just didn't know what to do. Suddenly I was broken out of my thoughts by two hoofs draped over each of my sides.

“Don’t worry I’m sure you’ll be able to tell him when the time it right” Apple Bloom said while Sweetie Belle just nodded in agreement.

“Thanks you two” I said as I notice that we had finally made it to our destination. But right before I opened the door I could hear them humming that same tune they sang a minute ago.

“Oh shut up” I said except this time more playfully and with a slight chuckle.

Twilight’s pov

We had finally arrived at the school and it appeared that all the children had left for the day. We entered the school to see Miss Cherilee sitting at her desk grading papers I think and she appeared to not have noticed us yet so I cleared my throat which seemed to get her attention.

“Oh Twilight I didn’t hear you come in” she then seem to take notice of Emerald on my back “and who do we have here” she said getting up from her desk and moving towards us.

“Cherilee this is Emerald he’s my son”

She had a look of shock and confusion so I thought it best if I explained a bit further.

“You see me and spike found him a few days ago without any memories so I decided to take him in to my home and look after him until he could get his memories back but after spending some time with him I started to care about him more than I thought I could about anypony so decided to adopt him though now that I think about it I probably should sign some paper work to make it official” I said chuckling at the end.
She nodded in what I guess was understanding and then spoke. “That’s great Twilight you taking him in and all but what does that have to do with you coming to see me” she said with a slightly raised eyebrow.

“Well you see I think it would be for the best if he attended school like all of the other children so that he could get an education and be around other children”

“Oh I see well that sounds like a wonderful idea, he could probably start tomorrow if you’d like”

“That would be great wouldn’t it Emerald” I said looking back at him. He just nodded with what I could tell was still uncertainty.

Cherilee pulled out some paperwork that she had just in case of new students. I filled out what I could of them which didn’t take very long and then everything was all set.

“So is that all then”

“Yes everything should be in order he can start first thing tomorrow morning”

“Great, well then I guess will be going then”

“Alighty then” she then looked at Emerald. “It was nice to me you Emerald”

“I-It was nice to meet you to miss” He said while covering part of his face with my mane.

We then walked out the door while waving our goodbyes and then headed to our next stop which was Rarity’s. We stopped by to pick up the clothes that she had made for Emerald yesterday and I also explained to her where Sweetie Belle was and then we left just as quick as we had arrived as we made our way back to the library. Upon arriving we could here all sorts of commotion going on from within so I immediately swung open the door to find all three of the crusaders on one of the tallest latter’s I had and then on each other’s shoulders to reach the very top shelve while spike seemed to be telling them to be careful.

“What are you three doing?”

This seemed to startle them as they all crashed down to the floor.

“N-Nothing we w-were just looking for a book t-that’s all” came a response from Scootaloo while rubbing her head.

“What book could you have possibly been looking for on the top shelves?”

“N-Never mind it was nothing, anyway can Emerald come with us now”

“Of course he can as long as you all promise to be careful”

“We promise” they all said.

“Alright then you four have fun then”

I then let Emerald off of my back as the three egger young fillies all ran towards us.

“H-Hey Emerald you can ride on my back if you want” Scootaloo said with a blush which Emerald seemed to have as well but he nodded none the less. He then got onto her back and they headed out the door.

“Don’t stay out too late”

“I won’t”

I then closed the door and went to clean up the books that had came down with them when they fell. While I was doing this I notice a pattern with the books that I was picking up. They were all romance book and about special someponys/crushes, why were they looking at these kind of books.

Crusading for the heart

The crusaders and their newest member had finally arrived at their club house and were currently thinking of what to do. The entire time that they were doing this Scootaloo stayed right beside Emerald and each and every time that she would think of something that they could do she would always ask for his opinion first which he didn’t quite understand. While he was confused by this the other two were not and as they watched the scene before them a sudden sly smile spread across both of their faces as they had gotten an idea.

“Hey I have an idea” said Apple bloom.

“Really what“Scootaloo asked curiously.

“Well I was thinkin that maybe that now that there is four of us that now maybe we could do crusading in pairs.

“What Why?”

“Oh um I, I was just thinkin that maybe it would be a good way to spit up are crusading, ya know cover more ground that way and since we have a fourth member now that is living in ponyville we can go in pairs”

“I guess that makes since” Scootaloo said as she put her hoof to her chin. She then looked at Emerald. “What do you think?”

Emerald just shrugged and said “If that is what you all want to do then that’s fine with me”

“Soooooooo how are we going to decide who gets paired with who” Sweetie Bell chimed in with a knowing smile on her face.

“Yeah” said Scootaloo and Emerald.

“Well actually I’ve already decided” Apple Bloom said as she looked at Sweetie Bell and then back at Scootaloo and Emerald. “Sweetie and I will be a pair and you two will be paired together”

Scootaloo’s eyes suddenly got extremely big as she had suddenly realized what Apple Bloom was planning. “H-How about me a-and you pair up t-t-together Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle and E-E-Emerald can be” Apple Bloom suddenly cut her off at the last minute.

“Naw I think it would be best if someone as brave and daring just like Rainbow Dash should show the new crusader around” Apple Bloom said as she tried to stroked Scootaloo’s ego quite a bit and even going as far as to compare her to her idol.

“W-Well I guess I would be the best chose for that now wouldn’t I”

“Defiantly”

“Eeyep”

“I-Is that alright with you”

“Um sure t-that’s fine” he said not really looking at her directly.

“Then it’s decided”

With that Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle decided to go on ahead and leave to go and do there crusading all the while lightly giggling as they made their way out the door. This left only Emerald and Scootaloo alone with nothing but an awkward silence between them as they both figured out what to do next.

Scootaloo’s pov

I had absolutely no idea what to do in a situation like this I mean sure I was crusading but it was someone who I was crushing on which had never happened before. Apple Blooms and Sweeties Belles obvious plan at least to me had also caught me off guard so I had no time to react to it. Regardless of these feelings and the situation I now found myself in though I knew we couldn’t just stay in the club house forever not saying anything to each other so I decided to be the one to break the silence.

“So um what do you think we should do first?”

He just shrugged in response not really making eye contact.

“Well um we could hmmmmm let me think” I said as I place a hoof to my chin. Suddenly a small idea came to mind. “I know maybe we could go into town and see if there is anything there to do to help me earn a cutie mark and for you to um well um maybe help find out what you’re good at “I said kind of unsure as to how that came across.

“Yeah maybe” he said looking a bit dejected which probably meant that last part of what I said came across how it sounded which wasn’t good.

“U-Um l-look I didn’t mean you know um what I said just now I…I wasn’t think that, that was all”

He finally looked up at me and he seemed kind of confused. “Huh”

I rubbed the back of my head with a hoof. “You know what I said about y-you n-not knowing what your good at” then I quickly added “yet know what your good at yet” jeez was it hard to cover up my mistake.

He continued to look at me in confusion, perhaps he didn’t even hear what I had said so I decided that it was best just to leave it alone.

“Never mind, so like I was saying before how about we go to town”

“Yeah sure” he said as he avoided eye contact yet again.

I decided to let him ride on my back since I thought that it might be easier on him and once he was ready we left the club house and headed into town.

Sweetie Belle’s pov

“Are you sure this is a good idea” asked Sweetie Belle as she voiced her doubts about this plan to get Scootaloo and Emerald together.

“Of course it is I mean look at them their practically head over heels for each other”

Sweetie Belle looked over at the two as were now just leaving the cube house not entirely sure how well this was going to end. Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle had decided to follow them to make sure that everything would run smoothly and that nothing would interrupt them.

“I don’t know, the last time we tried to meddle in Someone’s love life it didn’t turn out so well”

“This time will be different because for one we didn’t have to use a potion this time and two there feelings are already mutual”

Sweetie Belle sighed “fine if you say so but if this goes south” Apple Bloom cut her off.

“I know I know we’ll find someone like Twilight or our sisters to help us fix it but I’m tellin ya there’s no way that there’s going to even be a need for that”

“Alright but if we’re going to follow them we’d better get moving it looks like they’ve already gotten pretty far up the road”

Apple Bloom turned her head to look in the direction Sweetie Belle was pointing. “Oh shoot come on we better hurry if we want to keep up with them” she said as she ran in their direction.

Sweetie Belle soon followed still not a hundred percent sure if this was going to work although despite her doubts she was still hopeful that this would all work out.

Scootaloo’s pov

We had finally arrive and to be honest I had no idea what to do next. I mean I knew that we were supposed to be crusading at least that was part of it but there was something else that Emerald and I were meant to do. Originally the plan was that we would all go crusading together and then half way through they would come up with an excuse to leave but would suggest that we continue to crusade together that way we could be alone together. What I didn’t expect was for Apple Bloom to change the plane completely and for Sweetie Belle go agree with her. They must have planned it behind my back and the only reason they didn’t get an ear full early was because Emerald was around but believe me they were going to get it the next time I got a chance. Suddenly Emerald spoke which broke me out of my inner ranting.

“So what are we going to do now?”

“U-Um well were um were going to” I had to come up with something and fast. I began looking around when I spotted the bowling alley. I know that after last time I was almost never aloud there ever again and that I had already try bowling but Emerald didn’t know that and I had also been practicing just in case I ever did go back so I wouldn’t give somepony a concussion next time. “How about bowling” when I said that he gave a look which said that he had no idea what that was. “Don’t worry I’ll teach you how to play and I promise it will be totally fun”

“A-Alright I’ll give it a try” he said still a bit nervous but at least he was still willing to try which filled me with even more resolve to show him a good time.

I let him off of my back as we entered the bowling alley but there weren’t a whole lot of ponies today so at least I wouldn’t have to worry about hitting somepony in the head. We went to the counter and told them that we were going to play a frame which luckily I had just enough bits on me for two and we headed to an empty lane.

“Alright so are you ready”

I-I guess so”

“Don’t worry I teach you how to play, here I go first so you can see how it’s done”

I approached the rack with the bowling balls on it and carefully picked one up with my mouth. I then set it down directly in front of the lane and turned around so that I would be facing away from it. I bent down and lifted one of my hind legs and then kicked though not as hard as the first time I did this. It then went down our lane but leaned slightly to one of the edges and then it made contact with the pins knocking down only three. I was a bit disappointed not just because I wanted to knock down more pins but because I wanted to impress him by knocking all of them down. All of a sudden I heard a clapping sound behind me so I turned around.

“That was amazing I mean I’m not really sure what it was that you did exactly if you were supposed to know those things down at the end but still it was really cool watching you do it”

I blushed a little at the complement. “Thanks” I then approached him and then led him by the sleeve to the balls. “Alright now it’s your turn”

He looked at me and then at the bowling balls again at me and then back at the balls. He then was about to imitate me by trying to pick it up with his mouth but I stopped him just before he made contact.

“How about you use those instead” I said pointing at his hands.

“Oh right”

I tried to hold back my laughter so he would see it it’s just that it was a little bit funny seeing him trying to pick up the ball in his mouth and now I have no idea what he was doing. He was sort of just juggling it now which was really heavy considering how heavy one of those were. Concentrating back on the task at hoof I pulled him over to the center of the lane I told him to do exactly what I did which might have been a poor choice of words because the next thing I knew he was bend down and had his back to the ball. Before I could stop him he lifted his leg back and then kicked the ball. It bounced around the bowling alley similarly to how it did when I did it except with one minor detail. Somehow the ball had made it back to are lane went down all the way to the pins and knocked them all down, how was that even possible. Putting my questions aside I looked around and notice some not so happy ponies around us so I decide that bowling was over for now. I grabbed him as fast as I could and we ran out of the bowling alley.

Once we were outside he had a very worried expression on his face and asked “d-did I d-do something wrong”

“No no no of course not” I said quickly although technically I don’t think everypony else would see it that way. “Maybe bowling just isn’t your thing how about we try something else”

He looked a little bit down and gave a halfhearted “okay” which made me hurt seeing him like that. I had to think of something that would be fun that we could do together.

Apple Bloom
and
Sweetie Belle’s pov

“I don’t think that turned out so well”

“Ya think, now are we gonna do”

Sweetie belle thought about it to see if was anything that they read earlier in those books that would help. Suddenly something click and she had an idea although it was sort of a long shot.

“Hey Apple Bloom I have an idea but I’m not one hundred percent sure how it’s going to turn out”

“Well we have to try, I mean we can’t just leave things the way they are or else will never get any crusading done”

“Your right, alright here’s what I have in mind”

Sweetie Belle pulled Apple Bloom over and whispered something in her ear which caused Apple Bloom to get a confused look on her face.

“Are you sure that’s gonna work”

“I told you that it’s not guaranteed but we’ll just have to make it work somehow”

“Alright then I’ll go see if I can set things set up while you go and try to talk to Scootaloo without Emerald knowing”

They both nodded and then Apple Bloom went to do her part. Sweetie Belle decided that she might as well be upfront about this and just go over there, she was sure she could just make something up about why she needed to speak to Scootaloo alone.

Scootaloo’s pov

I was still trying to think of something to do when all of a sudden Sweetie Belle came out of nowhere and trotted towards us.

“Hey guys how the crusading going” she said trying to sound as casual as possible.

“Fine” I replied. I then notice that Apple Bloom was not with her “Hey where’s Apple Bloom”

“Oh um well she had something supper important to do so she said she would see us all later” she said as she looked at Emerald real quick and then back to me.

I raised an eyebrow to that but whatever it was they were planning I would just have to figure out later.

“Scootaloo”

“Yeah”

“Do you think that I could talk to you in private for a minute?”

“Well actually I kind of busy right now”

“Pleeese it will only take a minute”

I sighed “Alright” I then turned back to Emerald “You don’t mind do you” He didn’t seem to know that I was speaking to him as he seemed like he had something on his mind so this time I called his name “Emerald” that seemed to work as he looked directly at me and then to Sweetie Belle.

“Oh Sweetie Belle when did you get here”

“I’ve been here for a couple of minutes”

“Oh s-sorry about that I-I-I guess I just wasn’t paying attention”

“Are you feeling alright you’ve been acting strange ever since we left the club house?”

“Y-Yeah I’m f-fine any way what were we talking abou”

“Oh right well I was wondering if I could speak with Scootaloo alone for just a minute”

“Oh well okay”

“You don’t mind do you?” I said not really wanting to leave him alone but Sweetie Bell’s begging made it seem like it was life or death.

“No that fine I’ll just stay right here”

“Alright, I promise that I’ll be right back”

He nodded as I followed Sweetie Belle to the side of a building and out of ear shot.

“So what was so important that it just couldn’t wait” I said as I was also still annoyed by their little stunt from earlier.

“Well you see I have an idea about what you two could do next”

“Is this idea like your last idea where you just leave me on the spot alone with him?”

“No it’s not and sorry about that”

I sighed as I knew that could be mad at them forever for this. “Fine I guess that will do for now, anyway what’s this plan of yours”

“Well the thing is that I was thinking that we shouldn’t be so subtle with this attempt”

“And that mean what exactly”

“What it means it that you should just go ahead and tell him”

“I-I can’t do that”

“Yes you can it’s just three little words but don’t worry like I said I have a plan”

I still wasn’t sure if I was comfortable with this but I would probable feel a lot worse if I never told him. “Alright so what do I have to do” I said reluctantly.

“Alight so here’s what is happening I sent Apple bloom to go and prepare a picnic for you and Emerald under that big tree on top of the hill outside of Ponyville”

“A picnic doesn’t that seem a bit too obvious”

“Not at all just tell him that you think that you two should take a break and have something to eat and if he ask about who set up the picnic just tell him I did it”

“Wait what”

“I said tell him I did it you can say I did it because I thought that it would be something nice to do for a new member of the Cutie Mark Crusaders”

“Alright, is there anything else that I should know?”

“Actually there is one more thing”

“Which is”

“You have to sing”

I just stared at her as if she didn’t have a head “Are you crazy why would I do something like that”

“Because it will help you express you feeling”

“I don’t see how that”

“Trust me, don’t you remember in some of those books or even is some movies when someone really likes someone else sometimes they sing some kind of song”

“I usually try to avoid those kind of things with all of that romance stuff in it”

“Well it will work I just know it will”

“Fine but he runs screaming because of my singing I’m blaming you”

“Don’t worry you’ll do fine just act like you speaking the word to him and let them flow naturally”

“If you say so”

“I do now get back to him while I go see if Apple Bloom is almost ready”

“Okay” I said as I hurried back.

I saw him still standing awkwardly in the middle of the street looking from side to side as ponies passed by.

“Sorry it took so long”

This time he took notice of me speaking to him immediately and smiled a little. “Oh hey Scootaloo your back, don’t worry it didn’t feel like it was that long”

“Great, well anyway I finally figured out what we should do next, how about we get something to eat”

“Oh alright where should we go”

“Well actually I have a certaint place I want to go just outside of Ponyville”

“Okay that’s fine”

He then got back on my back and we head to the location where Sweetie Belle told me the picnic was.

Soon we arrive at the place where we were supposed to go and everything was already set up like it was supposed to which actually made me even more nervous than just hearing about it. We approached the blanket on the ground and I let him off my back.

“Wow what is all of this”

“Well this is what they call a picnic, it’s just something ponies do together when it’s a nice day out and there’s usually something really good to eat”

“Really”

“Yeah, so how about we sit down and enjoy it”

“Alright”

We sat down next to each other as I looked at what Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle had brought. Actually it wasn’t that much just a couple of sandwiches some deserts like an apple pie and cupcakes and to drink there was some fruit punch, I took a sip first just to make sure nothing was in it luckily nothing was. I looked over to Emerald who was just staring at everything like he wasn’t sure what to eat first. Actually what did he eat I probably should of asked him that earlier but hopefully he at least like one thing here. I decided to pick up a sandwich and he did the exact same thing soon after. We both bit into the sandwiches and it was really good at least to me Emerald on the other hoof took one bite and then made this face like he was going to throw up so he ended up spiting it out and then turned away in embarrassment, I guess he didn’t like daisy and daffodil sandwiches.

“It’s okay everyone has their likes and dislikes”

“Really”

“Yeah, now why don’t you try something else?”

He nodded and then picked up a cupcake. While he was eating I was thinking about how to go about the next part of the plan. How would I just go about sing about how I feel I mean I know it’s supposed to be romantic and stuff but I’m not that big into stuff like that and these kind of feeling are new to me so it’s not like I have any past expenses to go off of. Suddenly I felt a tapping on my shoulder to see Emerald sort of staring in my direction but more at the ground.

“Yes”

He didn’t say anything for a few minutes and I became worried but he then began to stutter out something. “U-Um S-S-Scootaloo I have a q-question”

“What is it?”

“W-Well that the thing I-I’m not really sure”

I just stared at him mostly because I was confused how could you have a question but not know what it was. But regardless of my curiosity I continued to listen.

He sighed “Well y-you see I’ve been feeling strange all day and I thought y-you might know what it i-is”

“Why would you think I would know?”

“Well” he hesitated again but quickly continued “it, it sort of involves you”

Involve me what does he mean by that. Oh no could he have figured out what was really going on and now he was try to tell me he did like me like that. No no no that couldn’t be it I pretty sure we were being subtle about it I think. But still what else could he mean, I had to figure it out and the sun was staring to set so I had to do it fast so before he could say anything else I interrupted him.

“Hey Emerald Blaze there’s something I need to tell and I don’t think it can wait”

“O-Okay” was all he said so I continued.

“Oh and one more thing if you end up hating me after this it was all Apple Bloom’s and Sweetie Belles idea”

He looked and me like he didn’t understand that last part but regardless I had to just go ahead and say or rather sing what I felt which wasn't going to be easy but I knew I had to do it so I began.

I slowly began to open my eyes and what I broke my heart. Emerald was crying, I knew this was a bad idea but I also knew that I could keep these feelings inside forever but still I would have rather done that then hurt him. I had no idea what to do now and I didn’t even know what I had said or done that had caused this and I was too afraid to ask.

Emerald’s pov

I had no idea what was going on. She had just started singing to me and it was the most beautiful thing I had ever heard but those last words she said, something about them felt familiar and right yet wrong at the same time. After she finished something inside just sort of snapped and water started to leak from my eyes which was another thing that confused me, If this was sort of a nice and familiar feeling then why were my eyes wet. I just wanted to know what to do and what I was feeling.

“You’re in love silly”

“Wait What”

“I said love”

“Who are you?”

“I’m you of course who else would I be” she said as she giggled a little like what she had said should have been obvious but also what she had said filed me with fear.

“No no no no no not again this can’t be happening again I got rid of you”

“Got rid of, ooooh you mean him hehehehe yeah he can be a pain in the but sometime but what are you gonna do I mean he is a part of you after all”

I officially think that this has been one of the most confusing days I have had that I can remember. What did it mean when it said that it was me but not the same me that I talked to before. Also that last part made me think it wasn’t really gone and this apparently new voice just verified that. Suddenly I felt a soft couple of taps on my head which I thought were Scootaloo but no it wasn’t.

“Hello earth to Em-er-ald is anyone home, wait a minute I am hehehe, anyway all jokes aside I think you should worry about me latter and start focusing on the task at hand”

“What do you mean?”

“Don’t tell me you forgot about the beautiful filly in front of you"

I gasped “oh no I have to respond fast before she thinks I’m ignoring her”

“And what are you gonna tell her”

“Well I you know I’m, I’m going to say um it’s” Truth is I had no idea. You got that right you don’t even know what you’re feeling. How, How are you doing that. Now let’s not get off topic again how about this if you trust me just this once I’ll explain to you what you're feeling or at least the jest of it. I guess I don’t really have a choice since I don’t really know what it is anyway.

“Alrighty now since where on the same page let me ask you something, what do you think of Scootaloo”

“What do you mean?”

“Just what do you think of her, is it good or bad, do you get nervous around her, do you have a hard time looking and talking to her”

I thought about it and all of it was true. I did get nervous around her, I did have a hard time talking and looking at her, and as for the part about it being good or bad personally I was thinking it was good but what did this have to do with anything. That’s love silly.

“Or at least how you feel when you’re in love, I know that this doesn’t make a lot of since especially since you’ve forgotten a lot of things including some of your emotions but trust me this is a good if not grate feeling especially if it’s true love”

“Really”

“Yes really, now how about you express how you feel”

“How do I do that?”

“Do I have to spell out everything, well no matter, all you have to do is K-I-S-S H-E-R”

“Wait what why”

“It’s one of the many ways others express their love for one another, all you have to do is kiss her on that muzzle of hers and I guarantee that after you do that you’ll defiantly know what love is”

“Are, are you sure”

“Positive”

“Alright I’ll give it a try”

“Great oh and by the way I would hurry if I were you, it looks like she's upset and she might even leave soon.”

“What no she can’t not yet”

I then snapped out of it just as she was starting to speak again.

“I’m, I’m s-sorry this was a s-stupid i-i-idea and I-I understand that you probably d-don’t ever want to see me again, that alright I understand don’t worry I won’t bother you again just know that I’ll still love and care you know matter what” She then stared to get up to leave.

But I couldn't just let it end like this I had to know more about this feeling called love and I, I wanted to learn more about it with Scootaloo. I did the first and only thing that came to mind I grabbed her front hoof which caused her to stop and turn to look at me and right when she did leaned in fast and with my eyes close which almost caused me to miss but luckily I didn't because once I made contact I could tell. It was kind of awkward at first because my eyes were close and I couldn't see her facial expression also there was a bit of resistance but I think that was mostly due to shock. Soon enough though that resistance went away and she started to kiss back and once she did it was like I was in a whole other world for a second time. I know that I still really didn't know what love was and I was probable really inexperienced but this felt nice, no more than that it felt great and I didn't want the kiss to end but I knew that it had to eventually. When it did I opened my eyes for the first time since the kiss started and from the looks of thing she did to. We then both just sat there not really sure what to say next but then Scootaloo was the first to break the silence.

“W-Why did you kiss me N-Not that I’m complaining or anything it’s just that I stared to think you didn't like me back”

“I well um the truth is I, I wasn't really s-sure what to do at first once said those word, you know the I-I L-Love you part so I had to think about it and when I did I realized something”

“What”

“I love you to”

“Really” she said really fast and loud to which I would be lying if I said it wasn't cute.

“Y-Yes, to be honest I think I've been feeling this way since we met but I wasn't really sure what it was but when you told me how you felt it kind of all made since and I finally knew what to call it”

“Really so is that why it took you so long to say something”

“Yeah and to tell you the truth I’m still a little bit worried I mean I don’t really know much about love or how it works so I’m not sure if I am good enough at it”

“I think that kiss said otherwise”

“So does that mean you liked it”

“You bet, I mean it was my first one but still I enjoyed it and I defiantly wouldn't want to do it with anyone else”

“But I still don’t really know what love is what if I make a mistake or something”

“Well I never really been in love ether so we both have that in common and as for making mistakes I’m sure well both make plenty of those but may we could do it together”

“So does that mean?”

“Yes but to make it even more official then that kiss already did can I ask you something?”

“Sure”

“Will you be my very special somepony”

“But I’m not a pony”

“It just means that it would be official and we would be together” she said as she laughed a little.

“Oh well then yes I would like that very much”

Then she was the first one to make a move this time as she leaned in to kiss me so I followed her lead and leaned in to and it felt just as great as the first time. Then while we were in mid kiss we heard a collective awwwww which made us both stop and take a look. It was Apple Bloom and Sweetie belle.

“Finally we were starting to think you two would never make a move” said Apple Bloom

“I admit I didn't really think this would work but I’m glad it did” said Sweetie Belle

“So if ya don’t mind me asking how’d it feel”

“How did what feel?”

“You know the kiss”

Scootaloo and I both blushed and then Sootaloo said.

“I-It felt just like I hoped it would”

“And what about you Emerald”

“Oh um it was well it was really really great”

Scootaloo then brought me closer to her with a hoof and stated to rub her head against mind so I did the same.

“Awwwwww” said Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle together.

“Hey don’t expect me to go all soft for you guys just because I do it for him, he’s the only one alright”

“Hehe alright alright anyway now that you to finally sealed the deal I think we should all head home it’s getting pretty late”

I looked over and saw that the sun had almost completely vanished. “You’re right I don’t want mom and spike to worry”

“Yeah let get ya home”

“Actually do you think that maybe I could take him alone just so we can talk for a bit longer?”

The other two giggled and this but they didn’t seem to mind.

“Of course not, just let us know if anything else happens” Apple Bloom teased although I’m not entirely sure what she meant by that.

“Yeah Yeah”

I then got on Scootaloo’s back and we left to the go and take me home. On the way we just talk a bit more not really about anything in particular just about thing that would come to mind. We soon arrived and we both quickly got one more kiss in before we both said good night and I walked through the front door which once I did I saw mom sitting at her desk reading a book. I decide to announce that I was home so she would know.

“Mom I’m back”

She turned around to look at me “Oh hey welcome back sweetie how was Crusading with the girls”

“Oh um it, it was fun”

“Reeeally” she said with a smile as if she already knew. “I would love to hear all about it”

“Are you sure it getting pretty late”

“I think we have time, why don’t you tell me all about it while we go get ready for bed, Spikes already asleep”

I sighed in defeat. “A-Alright if you sure”

She nodded as we both made our way upstairs. I had a feeling I would have to tell her I was just hoping it would be tomorrow oh well I was pretty sure she would understand.

Hey everyone sorry this chapter took so long it's just that I had a lot of thing going on and at a certain point I kind of got stuck on this chapter, I'm not very good at romance stuff so I wasn't really sure what to do so I kind of just went with whatever I felt.

A New Learning Experience

Author's Notes:

To me this chapter feels like a filler from an anime but still I think it was necessary to set up some things. Anyway whether I did a good job or not with this chapter I'll leave up to you.

Also I think I'm going to just have may one or two more chapters to set some things up that will have more of a slice of life feel to them before I move on with the main points of the story just in case anyone was wandering about this.

One more thing concerning the bonus chapters. I already have one of those chapters out but for the others I think I'm going to wait until the main story itself is done and then go though and see what I have to work with to see how many more there needs to be. I already do have at least one more planed but like I said I'll make and publish it after I finish the main story.

Twilight’s pov

I woke up extra early this morning because today was an extra special day and I hardly got any sleep last night anyway because I was just so excited. Today was Emeralds first day of school and I just couldn’t wait for him to get there and learn new things, make new friends, and just having fun in general. I remembered my days in school and aside from the no friends thing they were wonderful being Celestia’s student. I packed up everything I thought he would need for the day in an extra saddle bag the only problem was how he would carry it since he wasn’t a pony, I would have to get Rarity to make him something he more easily carry. I had just finished packing when I heard footsteps coming down the steps so I took a look to see Spike along with Emerald walking down the steps.

“Gooooood morning you two”

“Good morning” they said in unison.

“You seem to be in a good mood this morning Twilight”

“Why wouldn’t I be, today is a very special day after all”

“It is” said Emerald as he looked to spike to see if he knew what she was talking about, Spike just shrugged.

“Of course, today is your very first day of school”

A look of realization and uncertainty flashed across his face. “Are, are you sure that’s today”

“Of course I am sure it involves your education after all”

I noticed that he still had that look of uncertainty on his face so I decided to fix that.

“Now don’t you worry I’m sure you’ll have a great time and besides you’ll already know three of the student there”

He seemed to think about it for a minute when it looked like he finally figured it out and a smile appeared on his face “Oh Scootaloo, Apple Bloom, and Sweetie Belle”

“That’s right and I know for a fact that they will all be more than willing to help you out especially a certain purple maned filly” I giggled as I said that last part

He blushed at that “Yeah you’re right”

“Of course, now go ahead and eat your breakfast you don’t want to be late you first day of school”

I had decided to just pore him some cereal this morning with some milk since I wasn’t the best cook but I still wanted to be the one to make him breakfast on such a special day so this was the only thing that I could think of. He sat down while spike went to fix our breakfast so I decided to go through the bag I prepared for him one more time just to make sure he had everything.

Emerald’s pov

After we all had eaten and mom had checked the bag she was giving me for the fifth time we finally headed out the door and to the school. To say that I was nervous would have been an understatement but regardless I knew that I would be fine as long as I had my friends there. On the way mom would talk about how great school was and that I would really like Mrs. Cherilee as a teacher but then we soon arrived to school. Just before we got to the entrance she let me off of her back.

“Do you want me to go in with you?”

The truth was that I did want her to but I also wanted to go in there by myself just so I could show her how much braver I had gotten since we had first met. In the end I took a breath and decided to do just that.

“It’s okay you don’t have to”

“Are you sure”

I nodded.

“Well alright then I will be back after school to pick you up”

“Okay”

We then gave each other a quick hug goodbye and she walked away while I turned back to look at the building in front of me. I didn’t know what to do at this point, should I just walk in there or should I just stand here until someone decides to tell me to go in. I started to sweat a little, I mean it wasn’t like I had never met new ponies before but this was different these ponies were all younger then most of the ones I had met before and were all supposed to be around my age, whatever that was. I continued to think about these things until something or rather somepony gave me a hug from behind.

“Hey there special somepony”

“Oh hey Scootaloo”

She then let go which allowed me to turn around to give her a hug back. I then noticed that both Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle were with her.

“Hey Apple Bloom, Hey Sweetie Belle”

“Hey Emerald” they said in unison.

“Is everything alright, you feel a little bit warm”

“Y-Yeah just a bit nervous is all you know first day of school and all”

“Don’t worry the three of us will be there for you right girl”

“You bet”

“Absolutely”

“Alright students it’s time for school” Said Cherilee from the door.

I saw all of the other students enter the school leaving just the four of us left outside.

“We’d better hurry before were late” said scootaloo ran towards the entrance. “You coming Emerald” she said as she looked back at me.

“Y-yeah I am” I said as I made my way there.

I slowly made my way in as I noticed everyone else had already sat down and Mrs. Cherilee was looking at me while smiling. She then looked back at the class.

“Good morning class”

“Good morning Mrs. Cherilee”

“Today I have a special announcement to make, we have a new student joining us” She then motioned to me so I walked a little further into the room. “Everypony I would like you all to meet Emeral Blaze, Princess Twilight’s new son”

All of their eyes were immediately on me which caused me to flinch and look at the ground. I then felt a hoof on my shoulder and looked to see Mrs Cherilee smiling at me encouragingly.

“How about you take a seat at the empty desk at the back between Scootaloo and Dinky”

I looked to where she was pointing and nodded. It made me extreamly happy that I would get to sit next to Scootaloo and maybe this other pony who I now knew was named Dinky would be just as nice. I sat down and I saw Scootaloo with a big grin on her face which I knew meant that she was probably just as excited to be sitting next to me as well. I then heard someone else start talking on the opposite side of me so I turned my head.

“Um hello, I just wanted to say that it’s nice to meet you, my name is Dinky and yours is Emerald Blaze right”

“Y-Yes it is and it’s nice to meet you to Dinky”

We then heard Mrs. Cherilee speak. “Alright class today we will start with some simple math equations”

The entire class groned at this but I was just confused, what was math.

1 hour later.

After what felt like an eternity I know knew the evil which was math. Alright let me rephrase that it’s not that it was evil more or less I just didn’t understand it. I wrote everything she had on the board down but when I looked at it I couldn’t understand any of it, this was ether due to me not being able to read my own hand writing or me not understanding math. Luckily I had two ponies beside me to help with it when it came to the worksheets she handed out and she said we could help each other out. Dinky seemed to understand it better than Scootaloo but Scootaloo was still a big help on some of the simpler ones.

“Alright class it’s time for lunch so you can all ether go outside or eat at you desk but you have be back in your seats in thirty minutes”

“Yes Mrs. Cherilee” everyone said as they all began to do their own thing while getting out there lunches.

All of a sudden I was struck with a realization that mom must have forgot to pack me anything.

“Hey Emerald you coming” said Scootaloo

“Oh um yeah” I said as I got up out of my chair. I guess I just would eat lunch today. At least that’s what I thought until suddenly before I made it out the door mom ran through the door with a slightly panicked look on her face. She then noticed me.

“Oh there you are Emerald, I am so sorry I was so excited and in such a rush this morning that I forgot to make your lunch, Luckily Spike reminded me and made you something that I think you’ll like” She said as she handed me a brown bag “don’t worry I’ll buy you a lunch box just as soon as I can”

“You don’t have to worry about it but thank you”

“You’re welcome, now before I leave again how has school been so far”

“It’s alright I think, all we’ve done so far is something called math”

“Oh that must have been fun”

“Sure if your definition of fun is torcher” chimed in Scootaloo.

This caused mom to giggle a little “Don’t worry I’m sure you’ll all get the hang of in eventually, anyway I have to go now but I’ll be back to pick you after school” she then brought me in for a hug like she did before and left.

The four of us then went outside and found a nice spot to sit down and eat. I got a sandwich of some kind so I asked the others what it was and they said it was peanut butter and jelly I took a quick bit of it and it tasted fine. I also got some kind of drink called apple juice and a cupcake which was also very good. Not too long after we started eating Dinky came up to us and asked us if we minded if she ate with us to which we all said that she could. For some reason we were only talking about me and how I was getting used to Equestria and somehow the conversation went to yesterday’s events

“So you two are dating”

“Yeah that’s right” said Scootaloo as she brought me closer to her with a hoof. We then quickly kissed before anyone else saw.

“Awwwwww” came three voices

“Don’t tell anypony yet okay” Scootaloo said to Dinky

“Alright I won’t”

While we were still eating and chatting two ponies passed by us and took a look at me and then looked at each other. One of them was pink with something on her head and the other one was grey with glasses. While I didn’t hear all of what they were saying I did hear them say some about a monster and blank flanks and although I had a pretty good idea on who the monster they were talking about was what I didn’t know was what a blank flank was. I pushed the thoughts about being a monster out of my head as it appeared that lunch was over.
The rest of school we learned a little bit of what I guessed were basic subjects like grammar, history and science and then she gave us something called homework for history and math which I think mom mentioned she would help me with if I wanted her to.

“Alright class now don’t forget to get that homework done for tomorrow and have a great rest of the day, class dismissed”

We all made our way out of the room as we said our goodbyes to Mrs. Cherilee and I also said goodbye to Dinky just before her mom came and picked her up. I then met the girls outside.

“Finally” said Scootaloo

“Yeah I was begin to think we never gonna get out of there”

“It really wasn’t that bad”

“Well that doesn’t matter now anyway did you girls and guy want to do some crusading today”

“I would like to but I got a heap of chores to get done around the farm”

“Mom and dad said I had to come home after school and clean my room which take a while”

“What about you Emerald”

“Oh um well I might be able later today, I’ll ask mom”

“Sounds great do you mind if I stop by”

“Not at all”

Just then mom showed up.

“Hey there Emerald, girls, ready to go sweetie”

I nodded and then asked “is it alright if Scootaloo comes by later”

“Of course it is”

I then got on her back as we headed back home.

“So how was your first day?”

“It was alright” not really sure about it myself. Not saying it was bad or anything it’s just that I would have to continue to go to see if I really liked it.

“Don’t worry I’m sure you’ll like it once you get into the swing of things, Oh by the way I have some special news”

“What is it?”

“Well tomorrow after you get out of school we get to take a trip to Canterlot because Princess Celestia and Princess Luna want to meet you”

“W-What” I said worried

“Don’t worry I’m positive that they’ll like you”

“A-Alright”

I still wasn’t one hundred percent sure about meeting them yet but from what I have already heard about them they seemed really nice so maybe it wouldn’t be so bad, at least I hopped not.

Weekend in Cantorlot part 1

Twilight's pov

Today was a new day and it had started out just like the day before. I woke up first followed by Emerald and Spike, we ate breakfast, and then Emerald was off to school but today there was one important difference which was that we were going to Cantorlot to go see Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. Emerald had just come back from school not to long ago and almost immediately we had to leave so that we didn't miss the train but Spike had decided to stay behind to watch the lybrary and to help Rarity so it was just going to be just Emerald and I. I could tell from the moment we left the library and even when we got on the train that he was still unsure about meeting two of the other princesses so I did my best to reassure him before the train even left the station that the princesses would like him.

"I promise you they will absolutely love meeting you"

" But what if they don't want you adopting me because I'm not a pony or they send me away to some far away place so that we never see each other again or"

I quickly interrupted him before his thoughts got even more absurd. " I seriously doubt that they would do any of those thing and beside no matter what I will make sure nothing like that ever happens"

He briefly looked down like he was thinking for a second and then he looked back up at me with a smile and nodded. Before either one of us could say anything else the trains whistle blew meaning that it was departing for Cantorlot. I decided to go ahead and pull out two books, one was a Daring Do book that I decided to re-read and the other one was one of Spike's Comics that he said I could borrow for Emerald. So while the train left the station we both started reading our books.

2 hours later

Apparently time really does fly when your have fun because unsurprisingly I had read through my book rather fast and the train ride to Cantorlot was more than half way over but now I was stuck with nothing else to do. I looked over to Emerald and I saw that he had put down the book I had given him and was instead just staring out the window looking like he was lost in thought so I decided to see if anything was bothering him.

"Emerald" He apparently didn't hear me so I decided to say his name again this time just slightly louder while placing a hoof on his shoulder. "Emerald" this time I was able to get his attention as he immediately looked at me.

"Yes mom"

"Is something the matter sweetie"

He looked back at the window like he was thinking about it and then after a minute he looked back at me and spoke.

"Maybe"

"What do you mean by maybe" I asked as I wasn't really sure what he meant and therefore I needed more context.

"W-Well you see yesterday when I went crusading with Scootaloo" he paused as if to choose his next words carefully but then soon continued "we were really having fun and all but well you see right after we had finished crusading and before I had come home I h-heard one of those v-v-voices again"

I was just about to respond and ask him which one it was but before I could he continued to speak.

"I-I'm sorry I didn't tell y-you yesterday when I c-came home but I..I.. I don't know"

He looked a lot more distraught then he did just a moment ago which must have been from keep this inside and not knowing what it meant plus all of the pressure and fear he was feeling just before meeting Princess Celestia and Luna today. I knew that I didn't have the exact answers he was looking for but there was definitely something I did know.

"It doesn't matter"

"What"

"I said it doesn't matter" I said again as I pulled him closer and looked him in the eyes. "It doesn’t matter that you didn't tell me until right now, it doesn't matter what those voices say, and it doesn't matter what anypony else says because no matter what there is one thing that is true and that is you are my son and nothing will ever change that" I couldn't help it but tears were starting to escape from my eyes. as I wiped the tears away I suddenly felt to arms wrap around me as much as they could in a tight embrace.

"Thank you" he said.

I smiled "Your welcome but you don't really need to thank me I mean what are mothers for"

"But even before you became my mom you’ve looked out for me like when you first found me"

I just smiled at that as we just sat there and held onto each other. I don't know if it was fate, destiny, or whatever it was but I was glad that I had him in my life and I wouldn't change it for anything. I hated to ruin the moment but I had to find out more about what happened yesterday.

"Emerald"

"Yes"

"Can you please tell me a little bit more about what happened yesterday"

"Well actually I don't really get it myself all we were doing was normal Crusading until we were about to part ways"

Flashback

Emerald and Scootaloo were walking through town just talking after a long day of Crusading.

"So Emerald did you have fun"

"Of course I did"

"Great, so what are you doing tomorrow"

"Mom and I are going to a city called Cantorlot tomorrow So I can meet the other princesses" He said with clear uncertainty in his voice which Scootaloo pick up on almost instantly.

"What's wrong"

"N-Nothing"

"It's obvious something bothering you now come on you can tell me about it"

He looked down at the ground at then at her and took a deep breath and spoke.

"I-It's just that I-I'm worried that t-they won't except me"

"Now why wouldn't they accept someone as awesome as you"

"Because I'm different"

"So what does that matter I mean that didn't stop me from liking you and you don't hate me for being different than you do you"

"O-Of course not" he quickly sputtered out. "It's just that I'm the only human here and I don’t even know who I really am or what being a human means"

Before they progressed any further Scootaloo stopped him with a hoof and before he could react she kissed him on the lips. It took him a few seconds to realize what was happening but once he did he returned the kiss. It soon ended and then Scootaloo spoke.

"You're Emerald Blaze my special somepony and I love you and I'm sure Twilight feels the same way I mean you are her son after all"

He blushed a bit and then responded "T-Thanks"

"No problem"

They then continued to walk and soon enough they could see the library.

"I guess this is where we go are separate way"

"Yeah"

They hugged each other goodbye before Scootaloo walk off towards her home and Emerald continued on home but then when he was almost home he heard something that stopped him in his tracks.

"I'm so glad that you are starting to open up"

"Y-You"

"Yeap me"

"W-Who are you w-what do you want"

"I thought we went over this already I'm you"

"But you can't be m-me because I'm me a-and you don't even sound like me"

"Those are just small technicalities besides shouldn't you be focusing on the more important things"

"More i-important things, like what?"

"Like enjoying yourself"

"What"

"Just remember as long as you're having fun and are surrounded by those that care about you the darkness can never reach you"

"Wait what do you mean, does this have something to do with that other voice"

But there was no reply

"Hello are you still there hello"

But there was still no reply so after a minute he continued walking home.

Present day

Twilight wasn’t sure what to make of all of this but apparently there were two very different voices and the one he had talked to yesterday seemed much more friendly than the other one and what was it talking about darkness did that have something to do with that other voice. So many questions but no answers maybe the other Princesses could help. Before I could think about it anymore the train came to a stop and the conductor yelled that we had arrived in Cantorlot.

"Looks like we're finally here are you goinng to be okay"

"Yeah I think so"

"Alright if your sure" I levitated our bags and let him onto my back and then we made our way to Canterlots castle while I hoped that everything would go alright today.

Emerals's pov

I noticed that as we were heading to the castle ponies were giving me strange looks which was nothing new but it was a little bit different then when I was in ponyville almost like they were judging me rather than being curious. But I knew that no matter what happened as long as I had mom with me then everything was going to be alright. We soon approached a large structure which I guessed was the castle. Two ponies that were wearing armor and were standing by the entrance let us in and then one more pony that was dressed in a similar way greeted us.

"Greeting Princess Twilight" He said and then he turned his attention to me. " And I presume that you are Prince Emerald Blaze, it is a pleasure to meet you your highness" he said while bowing.

I was immediately taken back by this and shook my head vigorously " I-I-I'm n-not a I-I mean t-technically I guess I-I am b-but You don’t have t-to" I was an in-cohesive mess with this being the first time I could recall anyone addressing me like this but luckily my mom was able to salvage the situation or at least interrupt my stammering.

"Is Princess Celestia and Princess Luna ready to see us"

"Yes ma'am, please follow me"

"Thank you"

As we followed this stallion I was become more and more nervous of what the other princesses would think of me and if they would have a problem with Twilight being my mom. I know she said not to worry but with my new life on the line how could I be. I took in our surroundings just so that I could get a feel for the place and I had to admit it was very nice although to be honest I wasn’t exactly sure what I imaged this place to be like to begin with. But soon enough my gazing at my surroundings was cut off as we came to a stop in front of a very large door to which I could only guess was our destination. The doors opened and we stepped through. I Immediately noticed a change in the atmosphere between the hallways and this room and I soon saw what I assumed the reasons for this change was. At the end of the room where two ponies sitting on Thrones and beside them were two other ponies that I also had a strange feeling about, They were all staring in our direction.

"Your Highness's, Princess Twilight Sparkle and Prince Emerald Blaze have arrived"

"Thank you for escorting them that will be all" Said the white princess with three colors in her mane, I think mom said that her name was Celestia.

He bowed and then exited the room and then a one of the others that were in the room next to the princesses spoke.

"Twily it's so good to see you" said a white stallion with a blue mane as he approached us and soon the rest of them followed him.

"Shining Armor, Cadence what are you two doing here?"

"Well Twilight when you sent Aunt Celestia that letter she immediately sent a letter to Shining Armor and I so since we didn’t have any royal duties to attend to we decided to come down for a visit and to see what was going on exactly "said a pink pony also with three colors in her mane.

"But why"

"Well she just figured that your family would like to know of your decision"

"Do mom and dad know yet"

"Not yet"

I finally couldn’t take it anymore so I whispered in moms ear to ask her who they were. "Um mom if you don't mind telling me who are these two other ponies, I thought you said that I would only be meeting Princess Celestia and Princess Luna"

"Oh right, well Emerald let me formally introduce you to my Sister-In-Law Cadence and my BBBFF or rather my Big Brother Best Friend Forever Shining Armor"

As I listened to her tell me who they were two words of what she said definitely stood out to me and they were sister and brother. although I wasn’t entirely sure what the exact relation it was to my mom the one thing I did know was that it meant that they were her family. Suddenly the little bit of confidence I had because of mom was gone and the color drained from my face.

"Well well well long time no see"

Unfortunately I would recognized that voice anywhere and it couldn’t have possibly have pick a worst time as everything once again went black.

"And how is the so called embodiment of trust and courage doing"

"I-I thought I got rid of you"

"Awwww did you lose another memory" he said mockingly as he snickered. "I told you that you wouldn’t here the last of you and well here I am"

"B-But w-why"

"Let's just say I saw a small crack in that already weak armor of yours and I decided to take the chance exploit it"

"What"

"Do I need to slow down for you or am I still going to fast for your small brain to understand"

"N-N-No t-that not it I-I just did't u-understand what you meant by armor, cracks, and exploiting it"

"Your just proving Your point" He said while laughing.

"I told you the last time You're not me"

"Really, well then what did number three say when you told them that or rather your yang to your yin a.k.a me"

I decided not to answer since I realized that whether I answered it or not that it would still ridiculed me.

"You guessed it, no matter if you say or do anything or not I'll still get what I want and that is your fear because even if you have so called Friends and Family deep down you'll always be afraid of something and as long as you do I'll still exists as a part of you and then once your fear reaches it's tipping point that were the real fun begins unless they get here first"

By this point I was almost feeling like I did when I had first arrived here and to top it off I was now worried about who it was referring to by they. This would have continued until suddenly another voice that I also recognized intervened.

"That's enough"

"Oh great here comes the fun police"

"I wouldn't exactly call what you are doing fun"

This new voice snapped me out of my silence. "W-What are you doing here"

"let's just say your mom sent me"

"Wait you've talked to my mom"

"Not exactly, let me rephrase myself your mother's love sent me here"

"Her love?"

"Hey idiot have you not noticed a similar pattern between us yet"

"Didn't I say that was enough out of you"

While they bickered back and forth I thought about what the first one said. What did they have in common, I mean they seemed like exact opposites. one of them was mean they other one seemed nice, one of them kept telling me how worthless I was while the other one encouraged me and tried to help me, and the final thing that was different about them was that one of them kept talking about fear while the other one talked about love. Wait fear and love, the first voice only showed up when I was afraid of everything while the second one showed up when I loved others.

"Fear and love"

This both caught their attention as they both stopped talking but then one of them finally spoke.

"Hahahahaha finally give the kid a cookie or perhaps half of one"

"I see your finally starting to understand,that's good" It sighed and then continued "You see it's more than just those two emotion it all of your emotions that can be broken down into positive and negative and when you experience them to such a degree then that's where we come in you see when you"

All of a sudden the other voice interrupted. "How about you don’t give everything away, we wouldn’t want to draw anymore attention to ourselves then we already have now would we"

Again another sigh "As much as I don’t like to agree with him he does have a point I'm sorry I can't tell you anything else but maybe that's for the best anyways I think it's time you get going you wouldn’t want to keep your mom and the others waiting any long then they already have would you"

It took me a minute to realize what it meant. I had forgotten that every time I talked to one of them I blacked out which would mean that mom was probably extremely worried and if that warning about keeping them waiting any long ment what I thought it meant then I should probably come to soon. "So how do I you know leave"

"Oh right well just sort of let it happen naturally kind of like waking up from a dream"

"Oh yeah that's a major help I'm sure he'll definitely be able to figure that out"

"your sarcasm isn't required you know"

"Oh I know but I just can't get enough of your oh so many flaws"

"Ignore him, it's just like I said just wake up as if this was another dream"

I decided to take the advice and just relaxed. I felt like I was just about to wake up but not before saying one last thing. "I'm guessing this won't be the last time I hear from either one of you" and they both replied.

"Definitely/Definitely"

Before I woke up.

Twilight's pov

I was currently sitting by Emerald while he was laying in one of the guest beds in the castle. Everypony had told me that I should go out and get some fresh air and that everything was going to be alright but still that didn’t stop me from worrying. How could I not worry since Emerald was unconscious, he kept hearing voices, and magic didn’t work on him and the worst part of all was that I had no idea how to help him. Suddenly I noticed that he was slightly moving and the his eye started to open and he looked at me.

"Mom" he said as he tried to lift himself out of the bed and looked around to get a better view of his surroundings. "Where am I, what happened" he asked.

"Do you remember anything that happened when we met with Celestia, Luna, Shining Armore, and Cadance"

He thought about it for a moment and then a look of realization followed by shame appeared on his face.

"I-I'm sorry mom"

This took me by surprise. "What in the world do you have to be sorry for"

He hesitated for a moment but then spoke up. "I-It's just t-that I couldn’t d-do it I-I-I couldn’t control my emotions and I ruined everything..

"What are you talking about you didn’t ruin anything and whoever ask you to do control your emotions I personally like you just the way you are and the girls and the cutie mark crusaders would agree"

He smiled at my words for a moment but then frowned again as he looked away from me"But they're the cause of everything that's gone wrong and they're the reason you worry about me so much I don’t want you to worry about me all the time"

"Emerald remember what I said on the train"

He nodded

Good because I meant every word of you of it, you are my son and no matter what I will always love you and just because you don’t me to nothing will ever stop me from worry about you especially when something wrong or bothering you" I said as I turned his head to look at me and I kissed him on the forehead.

All of a sudden we both heard somepony lightly cough from the doorway , it was Princess Celestia.

"Oh Princess Celestia when did you get here"

"I actually just arrived to check up on you two" she then looked directly at emerald and with a kind smile she said "I see that you a finally awake that's good, how do you feel"

I could feel him gripping my front hoof a little tighter." It's alright you can talk to her" He looked at me and then looked at her, he then spoke.

"I-I am doing fine y-y-your h-highness t-thank you for a-asking" just loud enough for us both to hear him.

"That's good to hear and you don’t have to be so nervous around me I promise I won't hurt you" she said as she approached us. She then knelt down to get a better view of his face and although he shyed away a little he didn’t hide his face completely. "And please feel free to just call me Celestia"

This time he looked at her and said with a small smile "A-Alright your high-I mean C-Celestia"

She smiled gently at him and then looked at me. "Do you think that it would be alright if everyone else came in"

I looked at him to gage his reaction. He looked a bit apprehensive but he soon looked at me and nodded.

"It's okay everyone can come on in" I said a little louder than usual because I had a feeling I knew exactly where they all were.

Soon enough the three ponies I expected to walk in did.

"Hehe hey Twily we weren't waiting by the door or anything

"Of course not anyway I'm glad you all came"

He then looked around the room until his eyes fell upon Emerald. "Hey there Emerald it's nice to finally meet you"

Just like with anyone else he was meet for the first he didn’t look directly at him but he still responded. "I-It's nice to m-meet you to sir"

"You don’t have to be so formal with me I am your uncle now after all"

"That's right and you can just call me Aunt Cadence"

This caused him to look directly at them with a look on his face that said that he was both shocked and confused.

"What's the matter" Shining Armor asked

"Oh um i-it's nothing"

"Come on you can tell me"

He looked away ashamed while he spoke his next words. "W-Well i-it's just that I, I was w-worried a-about" he paused for a moment but then he continued "y-you two not a-accepting me"

This took them both by surprise but Cadence ended up speaking up first " Now why would you ever think that we wouldn’t except you"

"B-Because I'm different"

They looked at each other and then back at emerald "So what if you’re a little bit different" said Shining Armor

"He's right there's nothing wrong with being different from everyone else that just make you unique" added Cadence.

"Exactly and if Twily can except you I see no reason for us not to"

By this point I think he had some tears forming in his eyes but non-the-less he had a smile on his face "T-T-Thank you"

"No need to thank us" he then looked at a nearby clock on the wall "looks like it's about time for dinner how about we all get to know Emerald while we eat"

Everyone seemed to be in agreement including Emerald so we were all about to head to the dining room except before that there was one thing that I had to take care of first.

"Shining Armor and Cadence would you mind taking Emerald on ahead to the dining room I need to talk to both princess celestia and Princess Luna alone for just a moment"I then turned to Emerald "don’t worry i-it won't take long"

"O-Okay"

"Alright then let get going" Shining armor said as he was about to use magic to pick him up to put him on his back but luckily I stopped him before he could.

"Actually do you think you can just kneel down and let him onto your back let's just say magic doesn’t really agree with him"

He gave me a curious look but then he shrugged it off when his stomach decided to growl. "If you say so"

"Don’t worry I'll explain it to you later"

He knelt down next to the bed as Emerald slowly got onto his back and then the three of them were on their way.

"Now Twilight what is it that you would only wish to speak to our sister and I about"

I sighed as I mentally prepared myself to tell them what I knew. "It's a bit complicated and I don’t know everything but I'll at least tell you what I do know" I said as I started to tell them everything that had happened since I had found him.

Unknown location

Somewhere far away in another dimension two mysterious figures, one male and one female were sitting and waiting for a acquaintance of there's one of them a little bit more impatiently than the other

"Ugh where is he I'm tired of us just sitting on asses and doing nothing" said the female.

"I-I'm sure h-he'll be here s-soon"

"WHAT WAS THAT"

"I-I said t-that I'm sure h-he'll b-be here soon and w-why are you y-y-yelling"

"Ugh I can't understand a damn word you're saying"

The quiet male one just kept his head down and kept quiet while the loud female continued to no one in particular.

"Whatever" a few more minutes passed my and her temper only got worse. "UGH WHAT"S TAKING HIS SLOW ASS SO LONG WE"VE BEEN WAIT HERE FOR LIKE THREE DAYS" She took a long and very irritated breath and while her voice still didn't sound any happier it was lower in volume. "I'm mean I'm pretty sure that kid were looking for isn't just gonna show up in front of us and say "Um excuse me I hear you were looking for me how may I help you"" she said as sacaticly as possible.

The other one just nodded in agreement although in her rage she didn’t notice. Suddenly a third voice chimed in.

"It seems that someone is extremely worked up"

They both looked in the direction of the third voice and standing there was just the person they were waiting for. He was very young at least in his mid-teens, he had short blonde hair with very dark red highlights on the tips almost the color of blood. He was just wearing a normal black short sleeved shirt with jeans and sneakers but probably the most noticeable part of his apparel was the headphone that were around his neck.

The woman immediately stood up and approached him then she proceeded to grab by the neck of his shirt and yell in this face "WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG YOU DUMB ASS IF I HAD TO WAIT ANY LONGER I WOULD QUIT LITERALLY HAVE TO FIND A WAY TO KILL TIME" She said as she looked over at the other occupant of the room in a challenging manner. While she did the one that was in her grasp just chuckled as he replied in a calm manner "My, my such vulgar language and aggression" he then put one of his hands on hers and forcefully pulled it off of him and then in a much more threatening tone but with that same smile he said "But do I continually have to remind you that these things take time and everything has an order"

She immediately backed down but still replied with a cocky attitude "Fine whatever just make sure you get here soon"

"Yes, Yes I understand but regardless of my timing I did have a good reason for my tardiness"

This got both of the others attention.

"I found out exactly where are little missing friend is"

"Really you finally found that little brat" she said

The other male just smiled.

"Of course, you didn't think that I was merely doing nothing of importance while I was away did you"

"No of course not"

"As long as it was taking I had no idea what you were doing anyway where is he"

"Oh he in a Oh so comfortable dimension with a very unique species and in this Dimetion he is on a county know as Equestria, what do you say we go pay him a visit" he said with a grin on his face.

Sorry this chapter took so long it's just that just didn't feel like writing a lot and every time I did I was always indecisive as to what way I wanted to go with this chapter and the story as a whole but I finally chose something at least for now which is why it is now in parts. There might be some mistakes in this chapter because I currently don't have Microsoft Word on my computer but I have been using an online version of Microsoft Word so it's better then nothing. Anyway I hope you all enjoy this chapter and continue to enjoy the story.
