"Okay girls," Rainbow Dash says. as she taps the final brick into place, "We finally got this place fixed up from Sunset Shimmer's attack.”
"I am sorry about that," Sunset Shimmer says obviously remorseful, "at the time it just seemed like the logical thing to do."
"Don't fret it," Applejack says.
“I appreciate you all pitching in to help me get the school back together,” Sunset says, “It would’ve taken me months to rebuild this by myself.”
“Whatever happened to your two henchmen?” Pinkie asks.
“Snips and Snails?” Sunset asks and the others nods, “They disappeared the day after the dance.”
“That’s the difference between fake friends and true friends,” Rainbow Dash says.
“You can say that again Rainbow,” Applejack says, “A real friend will stick beside ya for better or worse.”
“But none of you are my friends,” Sunset says.
"No, but we all heard what ya said to Twilight before she left,” Applejack comments.
"And she did ask us to teach you about friendship," adds Fluttershy quietly.
"While we're discussing help, your wardrobe could use an overhaul," Rarity comments lightly.
"You helped me fix the school, now you want to help me with my clothes?" Sunset asks, taken aback.
"Clothes are my thing," Rarity replies as if it were the most obvious idea in the world.
"Sunset? May I call you Sunset?" Pinkie Pie asks, and Sunset nods. "Twilight said we were all doubles of her pony friends back in Equestria, does that mean her double and yours are here? If so where are they? Can we meet them?" she asks in rapid succession.
"Whoa, back up a minute, Pinkie," Applejack says. "I'm not sure that's a good idea."
"Why not?" Pinkie asks innocently.
"We don't even know if they have doubles here, for one thing," Rarity replies.
"And if they do, they're already living their lives," Applejack adds.
"We wouldn't want to mess with their lives here," comments Fluttershy.
"But Twilight did help renew our friendship," Rainbow Dash says before looking off in thought before adding with some hesitation, "Perhaps Pinkie's idea has merit."
The others look at her in shock. "Are you actually agreeing with Pinkie?!" Rarity stammers.
Rainbow Dash shrugs, "I'm just saying that maybe we should give the idea some thought."
“I might of had something to do with her not transferring to Canterlot High your freshman year,” Sunset Shimmer admits.
“Why would you do that?” Rainbow Dash asks.
“Initially I just didn’t want any more competition,” she replies. “But then, 30 moons ago I returned to Equestria for the first time since I’d come here, and found out about her and her friends renewing the Elements of Harmony. I did a little reconnaissance work and learned the names of her friends there, ” Sunset Shimmer admits begrudgingly. “That’s what drove me to tear apart your friendship; I couldn’t stand the idea of my replacement being happy, and since I couldn’t do anything about that, I decided, the best I could do is make her friends here miserable.”
“What a minute!” Applejack exclaims, “Are you saying you purposely broke up our friendship because the other Twilight took your place?”
“Pretty much,” Sunset says, “Didn’t you all find it odd how much effort I must've used to make sure that your friendship was broken up?”
“What are you talking about?” Rarity asks.
“I thought you all had figured it out already, every thing that made your friendship fall apart in the first place was my fault. I faked the messages between Pinkie and Rarity, I told the soccer team the bake sale was on a different day, everything.”
“Just so we wouldn’t be friends?” Pinkie asks.
“I had to get back at Twilight for replacing me, I just couldn’t stand the idea of being replaced, but also, I never had a friend, so I didn’t realize exactly what it meant to have one, and to lose one, which is even worse.”
“Well…” Applejack says hesitantly, “I suppose we’ve already said we would forgive ya for everything in the past, so it’s only right for us to let this go too.”
“Just as long as you’re not hiding anything else,” Rarity says, “No more surprises.”
Sunset shakes her head, “I think I’ve told you everything now.”
“Hey, what about your double?” Rainbow Dash asks. “Why have we never seen her?”
“You know, I have absolutely no idea. Maybe I can do a little research and find out,” Sunset replies. “It can’t hurt to find out.”
“Now the question is are we going to meet Twilight or not?” Applejack asks.
“I definitely say we go and meet Twilight,” Pinkie says, “Especially if she was trying to transfer here, she may need friends.”
“Pinkie does make a point, what kind of friends would we be if we didn’t even check it out?” Rarity asks.
“Not to mention how awesome it would be to have everyone together again,” Rainbow Dash adds.
“I have to agree,” Flutter adds meekly, “I’d hate to think of Twilight out there without friends, I know I didn’t like it when I was on my own”
“Alright,” Applejack says, “So it’s decided, Sunset will ya give us Twilight’s address so we can meet her?”
Sunset sighs and hesitantly writes down Twilight’s address. “You’ll be back right?” she asks obviously afraid of the reply.
“You don’t want to come with us Sugarcube?” Applejack asks.
Sunset shakes her head. “I think it’d be better if I stayed here and tried to find my double, also I’m not quite ready to face Twilight yet. After all if she doesn’t have any friends it’s all my fault.”
“Look, no matter what happens we’re still going to teach you about friendship,” Fluttershy says quietly.
“We promised Twilight, and we’re not about to break a promise,” Rainbow Dash says firmly.
“Now, let’s go meet Twilight again!” Pinkie says cheerfully. Sunset heads to the library to use the computer, and the others head to the address Sunset gave them.
A blue van with a rainbow lightning bolt painted on the side pulls up to the curb. Rainbow Dash gets out of the driver’s seat, “Okay girls, the GPS says this is the place.”
Rarity gets out of the passenger seat and looks at the place in obvious disgust, “Quaint,” mumbles.
“Looks more like a run down library than a house to me,” Applejack says as she gets out followed by Pinkie.
“Twilight did say she stayed at the library at school; maybe that's where she’s comfortable,” Pinkie says.
“I don’t think Twilight had much of a choice,” Fluttershy adds quietly as she hesitantly gets out of the van and they all look at the building.
“Come on y’all,” Applejack says. “We didn’t come here just to stand around and look at the place.”
“Right,” Rainbow Dash says as she marches to the door and knocks loudly.
They hear a dog bark. “That must be Spike,” Fluttershy says almost enthusiastically. “I can’t wait to see him again.”
“Something tells me he’s not going to be able to talk this time, Fluttershy,” Rarity states.
“I don’t care,” Fluttershy says defiantly. “He was still my friend.”
The door opens slightly and Twilight can be seen looking out the crack, “Hello?” she asks hesitantly. “How can I help you?”
Pinkie immediately pushes her way closest to the door, “I know that this is gonna sound crazy, but we met your double from another world, who was actually a pony princess in her world, she helped us realize that friendship was the most important thing, and we helped her become Fall Formal Princess, but then she had to leave or she wouldn’t have been able to go home for a very long time, so we thought we should come see you and try and be your friend too,” Pinkie explains so quickly that she is nearly out of breath.
“Right,” Twilight says as she backs up and starts to close the door. “Why don’t you just head back to whatever crazy farm you escaped from before I call the cops?” she adds with a hint of animosity.
Rainbow Dash pushes Pinkie aside and puts her foot in the doorway stopping Twilight from completely closing the door, “Wait, we just want to talk.”
Twilight looks leary then Spike comes up barking, “Spike stop!” Twilight commands but he runs to the door, and jumps over Rainbow Dash’s foot and goes right to Fluttershy.
Fluttershy picks him up and pets him, “Aren’t you a good boy” she says happily.
Rarity reaches over and scratches Spike behind the ears, “Hey there sweetie,” she says. Spike seems obviously enamored with Rarity.
“Okay...” Twilight says opening the door with a rather confused look on her face, “I’ve never seen Spike act like that before.”
“I have a way with animals,” Fluttershy admits quietly.
“Alright,” Twilight says obviously exasperated, “Let’s go over this again, slowly.” They proceed to explain the events of the last weeks to her. “Well, that certainly explains a lot, I was trying to figure out why I was unconscious for 3 days.”
“What?!” Pinkie asks incredulously.
“I think I was unconscious during the time this other Twilight was here. Perhaps only one of each of us can be awake at a time,” she offers as an explanation. Then she mumbles “Of course it could have something to do with that stack of books I found knocked down too”
“But Sunset’s been here for years!” Rarity exclaims, “That can’t be good for her double.”
“Sunset’s the girl my double defeated right?” Twilight asks.
“Right,” Rarity replies with a slight nod. “And your double left us in charge of teaching her about friendship.”
“We really need to find her double, and hope it’s not too late,” Applejack says.
“If she’s been here for 5 years, it’s probably way too late,” Rainbow Dash admits.
“You don’t mean?” Fluttershy asks quietly, dreading the answer.
Rainbow Dash nods grimly, “I’m afraid so, but we should see what Sunset’s found before we jump to conclusions.”
“I’m not sure how much of this I believe,” Twilight says obviously still trying to absorb the information, “But I want to go with you and meet this Sunset Shimmer.”
“Come on and get into the van then,” Rainbow Dash says and they all head to the van.
“Did you paint the van yourself?” Twilight asks as she looks at the van curiously.
“Nah, the guy at the Paint and Body shop, Color Pallette, did it for me,” Rainbow Dash answers.
“Gave me a sweet deal when I told him I had the same rainbow lightning bolt tattooed on my ass,” she adds with a mischievous grin.
“Do you?” Twilight asks with a hint of amusement.
“Of course she does, we all got tattoos at the same time,” Pinkie Pie answers nonchalantly.
“Had to give Fluttershy and Rarity some of my Granny Smith’s ‘special’ bottom shelf cider to convince them to go along with us,” Applejack jokes
“But it was worth it,” Pinkie adds, grinning at Fluttershy “Right?” she asks with a wink.
“I suppose it wasn’t ALL bad,” Fluttershy admits quietly with a slight grin.
“You all got tattoos at the same time?” Twilight asks
“Yeah” Pinkie says “Twilight, well the other Twilight told us that in her world, each pony gets her cutie mark when they discover their special talent, the cutie mark appears on their back flank, and the closest we could come up with was to get them on our ass.”
“So how did you decide what to get tattooed?” Twilight asks.
“We asked Twilight what our double’s cutie marks where and we got those tattooed on us,” Rainbow Dash answers, “Hence the lighting bolt”
“So, then…” Twilight hesitates as she looks at the girls.
“Balloons!” Pinkie says cheerfully, “Apparently I love parties as a pony too!”
“Apples,” Applejack says, “Guess I shouldn’t be surprised mah double is a farmer too”
“Diamonds,” Rarity says, “Something about having had found a bunch of gems and sewn them into costumes, I don’t understand myself, but why not?”
Twilight looks to Fluttershy who just blushes, “She got butterfly’s,” Pinkie says, “Denotes her shy nature, and love for animals.”
“Right,” Twilight says, “and my double?”
“A six-pointed starburst,” Rarity says, “she said it was a sign that her true calling was magic.”
“So my double’s special talent was magic?” Twilight asks.
“That’s what she said,” Rarity answers, “Said she became a princess because of what she learned with magic.”
“Wait,” Twilight looks confused, “Did you say my double is a princess?”
“Yep,” Applejack answers, “A pony princess of some sort.”
“That sounds neat.” Twilight admits, “I’ve always dreamed of being a princess.”
“I think all of us did at some point darling,” Rarity remarks.
“At least I know my double got her dream,” Twilight smiles.
“Right, now come on, let’s get a move on.” Rainbow Dash says, “We really need to go check on Sunset.” With that they all file into the van.
They arrive back at the school and all quickly head to the library looking for Sunset Shimmer. The librarian, Card Catalog, sees them obviously looking for something or someone and stops them, “Can I help you?” she asks.
“Yeah, we’re suppose to meet our friend here,” Rainbow Dash answers, “Sunset Shimmer,” she adds as an afterthought.
The librarian looks at them and sighs, “She was here,” she begins then nods towards a computer terminal, “on that computer then she left rather suddenly.”
“Let’s bring up her history and see what she’s been looking at,” Twilight says as she sits at the computer and begins typing rapidly, getting strange looks from the others. “What?” she asks when she sees them staring.
“Sorry,” Applejack says.“I guess we're all are still used to the other Twilight not even knowin’ what a computer is, so you sorta threw us off.”
“If the other me is some kind of pony princess, I guess it makes sense that she wouldn’t have had much use for a computer,” Twilight says as she brings up the history on the computer. “All right, I found the last thing she was looking at...” she says as she starts to read the article and stops suddenly and gasps.
“What is it?” Rainbow Dash asks as she leans over Twilight’s shoulder to read what’s on the screen before her eyes go wide in shock, “Oh.” she manages to mumble.
“Is it as bad as we all feared?” Rarity asks hesitantly.
Rainbow Dash nods and reads, “The paper is sad to report that the young girl, named Sunset Shimmer who has been in a coma suddenly passed in the middle of the night.”
“So she died when the gate closed?” Pinkie asks.
Rainbow Dash nods, “It appears that way.”
“I… I could’ve died?” Twilight squeaks out. “All because of Sunset Shimmer’s greed?” she asks, her voice rising slightly as she struggles to not freak out.
“We don’t know for sure that the gate closing is what killed her,” Rainbow Dash says thoughtfully.
“Hold on, there’s a link here,” Twilight says. “See related news article,” she mutters as she clicks the link. “Look here, something about a car accident.”
“Car accident?” Rainbow Dash asks.
“Looks like she was in a car accident a few days before she died,” Twilight says “A bad one at that.”
“Is that what put her in the coma?” Fluttershy asks quietly.
“Looks that way,” Twilight answers.
“You think Sunset knows that?” Rainbow Dash asks.
“I doubt it, the link hadn’t been clicked yet when I’d sat down”. Twilight says as she gets up “This Sunset sounds like she has issues”
“She was an egotistical megalomaniac,” Rarity remarks.
“She’s trying to change,” Fluttershy says quietly.
“I’m sure she is” Twilight comments
Applejack looks at the screen and clicks back to the other article. “Hey, y’all. This article has where they buried the other Sunset.”
“I bet that’s where our Sunset went,” Pinkie says.
“We should go,” Rainbow Dash says and the others except for Twilight make to go. “You don’t have to come, Twilight,” Rainbow Dash adds when she sees her expression.
“Nobody would blame you for staying here,” Rarity adds. “You don’t even know her.”
“I feel like I know her,” Twilight says quietly. “I don’t know why, or how I would know her, since I am sure that I’ve never met her.”
“Maybe somehow the memories of the other Twilight’s time here are starting to come to you?” Pinkie says. “And eventually you’ll remember everything that happened to her as if it happened to you.”
“You think that’s possible?” Twilight asks with a mix of awe and fear.
“We met a version of you from another world, where she was a pony princess,” Pinkie says simply. “I’d say anything is possible,” she adds with a shrug.
"I suppose you have a point," Twilight says still not totally convinced.
"Everyone into the van," Rainbow Dash says as they head out of the library towards the front of the school.
"As long as someone else drives," Rarity says. "No offense Rainbow Dash, but inspite of the rumors I do not dye my hair, and I don't want to start now."
"Are you implying I drive too fast?" Rainbow Dash asks defensively.
"Not if your qualifying for NASCAR," Rarity retorts with a smirk.
"I'll drive!" Pinkie exclaims.
"NO!" The others respond unanimously.
"Aw, shucks," Pinkie pouts. " I never get to drive," she adds with a heavy sigh.
"I'll drive," volunteers Rarity. "That way I know we'll get there safely."
"Fine!" Rainbow Dash grumbles, tossing her the keys and they all get into the van and head to the graveyard.
Rarity pulls the van up into the cemetery, “Will you look at the size of this place?” she comments looking at the huge expanse of land and tombstones.
“How are we ever suppose to find Sunset in this mess?” Applejack asks.
“Probably be easier to spot her car,” Rainbow Dash says.
“What does she drive?” Twilight asks.
“An orange and yellow Firebird,” Rainbow Dash answers.
“She had her car painted to look like a sunset?” Twilight asks incredulously.
“She might be a bit vain,” Rarity says.
“Rari-” Pinkie starts only to find Fluttershy’s hand muffling her, and Applejack shaking her head no.
“You say something Pinkie?” Rarity asks turning to look at her.
“Nope, nothing,” Pinkie says with an innocent smile.
Rarity shrugs, figuring she was hearing things, and continues driving. “1” Pinkie says then pauses, “2” another pause, “3...”
“Pinkie,” Rainbow Dash says seriously. “Will you please stop counting blue cars, it’s distracting.”
“4,” Fluttershy says quietly with a slight grin causing everyone to laugh.
“Good one, Flutters,” Pinkie admits and Fluttershy smiles at the compliment.
“Is that it?” Twilight asks pointing to the aforementioned car
“That’s it!” Rarity answers as she pulls the van over and they all get out of the van and look around.
“Well, now what?” Twilight asks.
“I wish I still had my wings,” Rainbow Dash mumbles. “I could just fly up and spot her.”
“Wings?” Twilight asks obviously confused.
“Yeah, when the other Twilight and Sunset fought, something happened and we all changed. Me and Fluttershy had wings,” Rainbow Dash answers as if it were something commonplace.
“Of course we all had pony ears and tails,” Pinkie adds excitedly.
“I’m in part glad they went away; Do you have any idea how hard it would be to work your wardrobe around a tail?” Rarity asks with obvious distaste.
“I’d be more worried about modifying my clothes,” Applejack replies.
“That would be a cinch, I could do it for you,” Rarity says.
“I’ll keep that in mind if the tail comes back,” Applejack says and Rarity nods.
“Come on everybody,” Pinkie says suddenly. “Let’s go,” she says and starts walking in one seemingly random direction at a brisk pace.
“Pinkie, what makes you think she’s that way?” Rainbow Dash asks.
“Just a hunch,” Pinkie answers with a smile as she walks, the others struggling to catch up to her.
A few minutes later, they spot Sunset Shimmer kneeling at a grave and Rainbow Dash runs up to her, “Sunset!” she yells as she comes up to the girl who is just kneeling at the grave obviously in shock. “Sunset?” she asks as she kneels down beside the girl.
The others rush to catch up. “Rainbow?” Applejack says as the others catch their breath. “Is Sunset okay?”
Rainbow waves her hand in front of Sunset, “She seems to be in shock,” she says as she looks at the grave. “I guess seeing her own grave was too much.”
Fluttershy comes up and puts her hand on Sunset and quietly says, “We’re here for you Sunset.”
Sunset collapses onto the ground and cries, “it’s all my fault!” she exclaims in between sobs. “I’m responsible for my own death.”
“Sunset,” Applejack starts in a sympathetic voice, “That’s not entirely true.”
“What do you mean?” Sunset asks.
“We read the article about your double’s death,” Rarity explains and Sunset cringes as Rarity continues her thought, “What you failed to see..." she pauses, attempting to compose her thoughts, "What the other article-"
“What other article?” Sunset asks, interrupting Rarity.
“The one about the car accident that severely injured your double first.” Rarity answers
“What?” Sunset asks.
“She was already in a coma when you came here.” Rarity comments.
“The shock of ya coming here mighta finished her off.” Applejack points out, “We’re not going to sugar-coat it for you.”
“Why not?” Pinkie asks, “Everything is better when sugar-coated.”
“Pinkie,” Fluttershy says quietly putting her hand on the other girl’s arm. “I think now might not be the right time.”
“Applejack’s got a point,” Rarity affirms. “But now that we know more about the situation, perhaps the best thing you can do is move past this, and live your life for both of you.”
“Yes,” Sunset manages to squeak out as she gets up off the ground and wipes the tears from her face. “That’s what I’ll do, I’ll try and make each day the best; and live for both myself and my double.” She says defiantly before noticing Twilight Sparkle. “Twilight?” she asks in confusion.
“Um, hi?” Twilight says, feeling a little out of place.
“You’re alright?” Sunset asks hesitantly.
Pinkie speaks up, “Apparently she was unconscious while the other Twilight was here. But she seems fine now.”
Sunset hugs Twilight, “I’m so sorry, I might have killed you too.”
Twilight stands there as Sunset hugs her “Um… I’m alive, so it’s okay. Besides we don’t know for sure that’s what killed your double. So do you think you can get off me now?”
Sunset releases Twilight from the embrace, “I’m sorry, I’m just in shock after everything. I take it by now you know who I am?”
Twilight nods, “You’re Sunset Shimmer, and you’re from Equestria.”
Sunset nods “I destroyed the paperwork for your transfer, that’s why you never came to Canterlot High.”
“I figured as much,” Twilight says as she looks at the other girls. “At least now I’ve met these girls, and some how I get the feeling that we are all going to be friends.”
“Let’s ditch this place,” Rainbow Dash says as she looks towards the sky. “It looks like rain.”
“We should get back to the van, I didn’t bring an umbrella,” Rarity says.
“Let’s go back to the school,” Sunset suggests, “if you want, we can get you transferred there Twilight.”
“You know,” Twilight says with a smile, “I think I would like that.”
Twilight walks into Canterlot High the following Monday morning and goes right to Principal Celestia’s office. “Good morning Principal.”
Celestia sighs as she puts her papers to the side, “So you’re the Twilight Sparkle that belongs here then?” she asks.
“You know?” Twilight asks amazed.
“I am the Principal of this school. I do pay attention to what goes on here,” Celestia replies with a tone of authority. “I had a feeling something was up when the other Twilight came to me asking about her crown. I had no knowledge of a new student, and yet here was a student I didn’t know in my office. So I decided it might be best if I went along with it. I must say that I am glad that the girls helped Sunset Shimmer rebuild the school after her magical fight with the other Twilight.”
Twilight gulps suddenly becoming more nervous, “So what happens now?” she manages to ask.
“Well, most likely the students will just assume you and the other Twilight are the same person, and something happened to you because of the magic as most of the student body did see the fight. I would suggest you play along, you can feign amnesia of the whole event if you’d like. Or if you’d prefer to just take on the role she did, I’m sure that your new friends will fill you in on all of the necessary details to complete the story.”
“They already gave me a lot of the details, and it was only a few days. I think it might be better if I just pretend I am her, and fully aware of the events that transpired. From what I understand my friends were the only ones to see her leave, so I’ll just tell everyone that I passed out when the magic faded and have been unconscious since that night.”
Celestia nods “That sounds believable, it has only been a little over a week since the event happened. You friends worked fast to repair the school.”
Twilight nods, “Rainbow Dash said that she and the others worked especially hard because they didn’t want the school to be damaged any longer then necessary.”
“And I’m very proud of their efforts and contribution to this school,” Celestia says. “Now, if everything’s in order you should get on with your classes.”
“I have my schedule, and I’m as ready as I can be, so thank you” Twilight says as she stands up to leave.
“Thank you, Twilight,” Celestia says as she sees Twilight out. “And remember my door is always open,” she says as the door closes behind her.
Twilight sighs and goes to her morning classes. At lunch, she meets up with the others, “So how are you enjoying your first day, darling?” Rarity asks as she sits down across from her at the table.
“So far not as bad as I feared,” Twilight answers as she starts eating her lunch and looking around the room at the other students. “Feels a bit different than my old school.”
“That’s right!” Rarity exclaims, “You never have told us about your old school.”
“I was at Crystal Academy,” Twilight replies. “Where my sister-in-law is principal”
“Your sister-in-law is the principal?” Rarity asks
Twilight nods, "Cadance has been principal there for awhile. Just a little over a year ago she married my brother, Shining Armor.”
“Sounds a little awkward,” Applejack says.
“I’d been trying to transfer here since the two of them started dating, because it was awkward my brother just dating my principal, having to see her outside school every night. On the bright side we did sort of become friends.”
“Now you have six awesome friends,” Rainbow Dash says.
“So I count into this?” Sunset asks surprised.
“Of course you do Sunset,” Rainbow Dash answers. “Why not?”
Sunset looks relieved.
“You know what we should do?” Pinkie asks no one in particular. “A welcome party!” she answers with her usual enthusiasm, before anyone else can reply.
“As long as you do it small,” Rarity starts to say, “You can use my studio.”
Pinkie smiles and suggests. “Tonight? Just us, I’ll run by Sugarcube Corner and get snacks,” and the other’s nod, “Goody.”
They all finish eating. “I’ll see you after classes then,” Twilight says as she gets up to leave and head to her next class.
“Hey, Twilight!” a male voice calls out from behind her and Twilight stops, “I heard you were back,” Twilight turns to face the voice and as she does Flash grabs her and kisses her. Twilight looks in shock as Flash speaks, “You okay Twi?”
“Flash Sentry,” Fluttershy chides quietly, “You know what the principal would say about a public display of affection.”
“Oh, hey Fluttershy,” Flash says, “I guess I got caught up since I hadn’t seen Twi since the dance, and I really thought we’d hit it off.”
“It’s okay Flash,” Twilight says, trying to conceal her nervousness. “I just didn’t expect you to kiss me in the school.”
“Sorry about that,” Flashs says, “How about I make it up to you, a real date, this friday.”
Twilight nods, “I expect you to be the perfect gentleman.”
“Of course,” Flash says, “We’d better head to class.” He says as he heads off.
“What exactly happened between him and my double?” Twilight asks Fluttershy.
“He proved your double’s innocence when Sunset tried to frame her for destroying the gym before the dance. Then the two of them shared a dance after the battle, she seemed to have a thing for him,” Fluttershy answers.
“I can’t say I blame her, he is cute.” Twilight says with a smirk, “and a good kisser too”
“First kiss?” Fluttershy blushes slightly as she asks and Twilight nods the smiles, “I will always remember my first kiss.”
“Who was it?” Twilight ask as she notices Fluttershy kind of glance back to the lunch room and the bell rings.
“We’d better hurry or we’re going to be late,” Fluttershy changes the subject as they rush off.
Later that night they are all gathered at Rarity's studio. "Well," Twilight begins "I have a date with Flash Sentry on Friday."
"That's great!" Rarity exclaims, "he and your double seemed to have something going."
"That's actually what worries me," Twilight admits.
"Why's that?" Rarity ask.
Twilight blushes, "what if the other Twilight and him.... you know?"
"We were with the other Twilight almost the entire time she was here." Pinkie Pie states, "there's no way she could've gone THAT far!"
"But Twilight does have a point." Applejack remarks, "it's possible he may expect more then she's ready for."
"Flash is my ex," states Sunset Shimmer, "I don't think he's like that."
"He kissed me in the hallway,” Twilight points out.
"I'm sure there's a perfectly logical reason for that," Rarity reasons.
“And what would that be?” Twilight asks.
“Maybe he got super excited when he saw you, cause he hadn’t seen you since your double left, and he was worried about you, and then you show up at school, and he’s like ‘oh, look, there she is’, and he’s so relieved that he loses himself for a minute and kisses you before he knows what he’s doing?” Pinkie suggests in what seems to be a single breath.
"I suppose that’s possible, and that’s why I want to tell him the truth," Twilight says, "I'd rather not start a relationship on a lie."
"Relationship? It's just a date!" Rarity asks skeptically.
"With a guy who kissed me in the hallway and at very least danced with my double." Twilight points out.
"I think she should tell him." Fluttershy states quietly.
"I'd hate if someone came up to me after a couple dates and tell me the whole thing started from a lie," Pinkie Pie says.
Twilight stomps her foot, “Okay, I’m telling him,” Then she pauses and looks at the girls, “you’ll come with me right?”
“Sorry, but I promised Flutters I’d help at the Animal Shelter this weekend,” Pinkie says as she looks at Fluttershy.
“And I promised Rarity I’d help her clean out and rearrange her studio,” Applejack says.
“I told Scoots I’d give her a soccer lesson after school friday,” Rainbow Dash says, “but maybe I can reschedule, she might not be too upset.”
“My studio can wait a bit AJ, darling,” Rarity says.
Fluttershy quietly adds. “I think the shelter can wait, Pinkie, Twilight needs us.” Pinkie looks slightly detected, “I’m sure we can make it up to them LATER!”
Pinkie nods, “If you’re sure Flutters,” Then Fluttershy nods, “Then we’ll be there."
Friday night, the group of friends arrive outside a local restaurant. “I’m glad you didn’t have a problem with my friends tagging along Flash,” Twilight says.
“Hey, you said you were a little nervous about everything, so if it makes you more comfortable to have them all around I’m cool with that for now.” Flash says, “As long as they pay their way, I’ll get you, as it is a date”
Twilight smiles, “Deal,” They all sit in a corner of a restaurant and order, “Now that it’s reasonably quiet there’s something I need to tell you Flash, before this goes any further.”
“What’s that Twi?” Flash asks.
Twilight sighs, “I’m not exactly who you think I am.”
“You are Twilight Sparkle, aren’t you?”
“Yes,” she answers, “Just not the same one you know.”
Flash looks confused. “What do you mean?”
“The Twilight Sparkle that was Princess of the Fall Formal, and you danced with and everything was from another world. I’m the one that belongs here. Principal Celestia thought it might be easier for everyone if I just told them I was her,” Twilight admits and looks at Flash.
“No offense, but what happened to the other Twilight?” Flash asks and Twilight winces slightly.
“She went back to her world,” Rainbow Dash answers.
Flash nods, “What is her world like?”
Everyone looks at Sunset Shimmer who sighs. “Equestria is a magical land,” Sunset starts, “The majority of the population is ponies, whether we were regular ponies, or pegasi or unicorns or alicorns.”
“What’s an alicorn?” Flash asks.
“A unicorn with wings.” Sunset answers, “It’s what Princess Celestia, the ruler of Equestria is, and it’s what Princess Twilight Sparkle is.”
“That would explain why she had wings at the dance.” Flash comments then looks to Twilight. “So you had no idea who I was when I kissed you?”
Twilight shakes her head and Fluttershy quietly voices, “That’s why I was as glad I was nearby, I saved her on purpose.”
Flash nods, “I’m sorry Twi, err is it still okay if I call you that?”
Twilight smiles, “I like the nickname, and so far I like you.”
“You just didn’t want me thinking you were someone you weren’t?”
Twilight nods, “I wanted to be honest with you, especially if we’re going to date,” she adds with a slight blush.
“So you brought your friends in case I left you after hearing the story?”
“I believe she brought us for support,” Rarity says, “After all it was the group of us that found her and convinced her to come to Canterlot High.”
“That and I wasn’t sure if you’d believe me, it is a pretty crazy story,” Twilight admits.
“It certainly is, but I believe the whole thing, not sure why, but I do,” Flash says, “So is there anything else I should know, or we good?”
Twilight looks to her friends and they all shrug, “I think we’re good,” she says.
“Good, then maybe the next time we go out we can go without you friends?” Flash suggests with a smile.
Twilight smiles back, “I think I would like that.”
Some time has passed and now the friends are gathered outside Canterlot High for an auspicious occasion, a total solar eclipse. When suddenly a group of shadowy humans with wings fly in, “Attack!” a woman who seems to be the leader commands.
“Run!” someone yells and the students scatter.
“I wish I still had those wings.” Rainbow Dash says, “I’d show them one for!”
“We can’t fight them if they keep coming in from the air.” Twilight points out.
“Interesting!” The woman in charge says and lands near the group. “You seem familiar,” she looks to Sunset. “Not you, but these six.” she reaches out and touches Twilight’s face, “This one in particular.”
“Get away from Twilight, you freak!” Applejack yells.
“Twilight?” the woman ask and malicious look crosses her face, “Twilight Sparkle by chance?”
“Um, yes, and you are?” Twilight asks.
“I am Queen Chrysalis, and I rule over these changelings.” Chrysalis answers, “Your double stopped me from taking over Equestria, but I was able to bring my army here using my powers. Now I’ll kill you!” Chrysalis lunges at Twilight, when Sunset, whom she forgot about hits her across the back with a sign. Chrysalis drops Twilight and turns to Sunset who quickly runs away. “Get her!”
Twilight and the others run away as quickly as they can. “I hate having to run,” Rainbow Dash says.
“We can’t exactly fight.” Twilight says, “How would we?”
“Sport’s equipment lock-up.” Rainbow Dash says, “I can kick some balls in their faces!” With that they run toward the lock-up.
Meanwhile Sunset runs to the horse statue that also serves as the portal to Equestria only to end up cornered, she starts to back toward the statue. “I’ll get your friends next!” Chrysalis threatens as she swipes at Sunset who instinctively dodges backward, fully aware that she should hit the statue, only to find that portal open and herself slip through the gateway.
After a moment Sunset realizes first that she’s not dead, and second that she’s a unicorn again. She turns to the mirror and goes to go through only to find the portal closed, “I need help.” She teleports herself to the throne room, and finds more than she expects, as not only Princess Celestia and Princess Luna are there but Princess Twilight and her friends.
“Sunset Shimmer?” Princess Twilight asks surprised, “What are you doing here?”
“I’m not entirely sure HOW I got here,” Sunset answers, “But some creatures calling themselves changelings, lead by a woman calling herself Queen Chrysalis, are attacking the school, and somehow I seem to have fallen through the portal.”
“Sunset, please tell us everything that happened since Princess Twilight has left,” Princess Celestia requests.
“Of course,” Sunset says and she recounts all the events quickly.
“I see,” Princess Celestia states, “Sounds like this solar eclipse must be activating the gateway.” She looks to her sister, “We should do the same thing sister.” Luna nods and the first ever solar eclipse in Equestria starts. “The portal should work both ways now, but I doubt it’ll work for long.”
Sunset turns to Princess Twilight, “Please, the 6 of you, come with me quickly only the Elements of Harmony can defeat her.”
“Sunset!” Princess Celestia stops her, “I can’t allow the Elements of Harmony to go through to your world, I definitely can’t allow all 6 of the bearers of the elements go through. Especially not knowing the how long the gate will remain open on your end.”
“I understand,” Sunset mutters sadly. “Just allow me to return and fight for my world then.”
“I will,” Princess Celestia says, “But not empty handed, you will require help to defeat the changelings.”
“But you said….” Sunset starts but is cut off by the Princess.
“I said I would not allow the Elements of Harmony to go through, or their bearers. From what Princess Twilight has told me there are those in that world who could be the bearer of the Elements of Harmony, all they need is a spark.” A bag comes floating from behind her throne. “These are the shards of the Elements of Harmony, when Twilight and her friends remade them there was some left over pieces. I was holding onto them incase of an emergency. They may not have much of a spark, but they should have enough to spark the Elements in your world, especially after the Element of Magic was there.”
Sunset takes the bag, “Thank you Princess,” she bows. “Now I must run maybe I can save my friends.”
“Go with our blessings.” Celestia commands and Sunset teleports off.
Sunset appears in front of the mirror and goes through it, readying herself for the change back into human form. Sure enough she appears back at Canterlot High in her human form, holding the bag of shards. “The others,” she looks to where the most commotion is and runs in that direction.
“We’re all out of balls for ya to kick Dash.” Applejack states as the changelings corner them against the school.
“It was nice knowing all of you,” Twilight gulps
"I don't plan on giving up without a fight," Rainbow Dash says as she balls up her fists. "I don't care if they tear me apart."
Applejack pushes down her hat, "I'm with ya!"
The others nod in agreement. "Let's do this!" Pinkie exclaims and the bag Sunset is carrying starts to glow, scaring Sunset
“What the!” Sunset exclaims, as she drops the bag, and several of the shards come flying out of the bag sparkling many colors, they go to five of the cornered girls and glow.
One of the shards floats in front of Pinkie glowing pink brightly. “Ohhhh, pretty,” Pinkie says enthralled and reaches out for the shard.
"What in tarnation?" Applejack asks staring at the orange shard glowing in front of her, she reaches for it to investigate.
One shard glows white and floats in front of Rarity "What a lovely gem" she says as she goes to acquire it.
Rainbow Dash grabs the shard that floats in front of her, glowing blue quickly while Fluttershy hesitantly reaches out to the shards softly glowing yellow floating in front of her. As they reach out for the shards the shards fly into them and they are enveloped by the appropriate color light. They shards turn them to their pony-hybrid forms, they all acquire ears and tails of their appropriate doubles colors, as Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy also get their wings, they all stand there in shock for a minute.
Until Rainbow Dash quickly takes the the air, "Awesome!"
“What is this?” Queen Chrysalis asks as she lunges at Pinkie.
Pinkie cartwheels around Chrysalis confusing her, as she's not paying attention Applejack moves and kicks Chrysalis right into the school, making a hole in the wall, “My bad,” Applejack looks embarrassed.
The changelings look confused for a minute then quickly grab Queen Chrysalis and fly away leaving the friends standing there. Sunset comes running up holding the bag of shards and panting, “what… happened?”
“The changelings, they just flew away when the one who called herself their Queen was knocked unconscious,” Twilight observes.
“Just flew away?” Sunset asks.
“They all paused for a minute like they were confused and then grabbed Chrysalis and fled.” Twilight says.
“Some kind of self preservation thing then?” Sunset asks.
“Perhaps, they did seem to swarm us like insects, perhaps they have some sort hive mind?” Twilight suggests.
“That would make sense,” Sunset admits.
“Now onto more important matters,” says Rainbow Dash as she flies.
“I am totally a pony girl again!” Pinkie screeches, “I am so excited!”
"You're excited?" Rainbow Dash asks as she flies, "I'm like 120% more awesome!"
Twilight goes to Pinkie, “Are those real?” Tweaks her pony ears.
“Hey!” Pinkie says, “That kinda hurts!”
“They are real.” Twilight says as she steps back shocked.
“This is the magic of Equestria,” Sunset says having had finally caught her breath.
“What are you talking about?” Applejack asks, “Twilight took the crown with her.”
“During the fight the changelings pushed me through the gateway to Equestria,” Sunset states.
“Whoa, back up a minute there,” Applejack looks at her suspiciously. “Whatcha mean pushed ya through the gate?”
Sunset nods and tells them everything that happened, they all look up only to see that the eclipse has ended. “So the gate’s closed again?” Twilight asks
Sunset nods, “Looks that way, but at least Princess Celestia gave us these shards of the original Elements of Harmony to help us fight the changelings.”
“Is that what happened to us?” Pinkie asks.
“Some of the shards flew out of the bag as I was running to find you all.” Sunset says, “Somehow it must have done,” waves her hands up and down the hybrids, “this to all of you.”
“Now we just need to find a way to reverse the process,” Twilight says.
“Why?” Pinkie asks, “This is great! I have a tail!” she turns around and waves the tail around. “And I feel so full of energy!”
"And there's no way I'm giving up my wings again!" Rainbow exclaims
“Pinkie, my dear,” Rarity starts, “Aren’t you concerned what everyone is going to say about our ears and tails?” Pinkie shrugs seemingly unconcerned.
“I like her ears and tail.” Fluttershy admits quietly looking at Pinkie with a smile. “Makes her look like a cute animal.”
“See?” Pinkie asks, “Flutters likes it, I should just keep the look!”
“People will talk!” Rarity remarks, "Besides I for one don't want to keep the tail, the ears aren't so bad. And you Fluttershy, aren't you a bit concerned what people are going to say about your wings?"
"I have wings?" Fluttershy stammers, "I didn't notice." she blushes and folds them up against her back, "Seems like they'd be well hidden under a loose t-shirt."
Rarity notices that the hybrids are all wearing necklaces with the appropriate cutie mark on them. "Did anyone else notice these necklaces?"
Pinkie touches her necklace, “No.”
“That’s got to be the Shard of Harmony,” Sunset says, “I bet if you take it off you’ll turn back.”
Rarity quickly grabs for her necklace in an attempt to remove it. "I can't seem to remove it."
"That's fine!" Rainbow Dash grins, "cause I don't mind staying like this."
"You know they'll kick you off the soccer team," Rarity says.
"She has a point, them dar wings would be unfair," Applejack says.
Rainbow Dash looks unsure for a minute, "Ok, any other ideas?"
“If I had the magic I had in Equestria I could create an illusion to cover the changes at the very least.” Sunset Shimmer states.
“Try using one of them shards,” Applejack suggests, “The crown gave you and the other Twilight power, maybe the Shards will do the same.”
Sunset takes a shard out of the bag and holds it in her as she closes her eyes, concentrating on the shard, and remembering what it felt like to use magic in Equestria, after a minute or so she sighs. “No, not working.”
“Let me try,” Twilight says and she reaches out and grabs Pinkie’s necklace gently, and closes her eyes. The bag of shards starts shaking in Sunset’s hand and suddenly another shard comes flying out glowing purple brightly, and it flies right to Twilight and merges with her. The purple ears appear on her head, and the tail and wings appear on her back. A headband appears on her head, decorated with a 6-point sunburst and 6 smaller stars. At the same time the changes on Pinkie seem to fade to the point of obscurity.
“Well that works!” Rainbow Dash sounds impressed.
“Except now Twilight seems to have a shard,” Fluttershy mumbles.
“Huh?” Twilight asks, as she opens her eyes, only to very suddenly realize the extra weight of having wings and fall backwards. “Ow!”
“Not a natural flier I see,” Rainbow Dash says as she goes to help Twilight up.
“I’m willing to bet my other self wasn’t either as she wasn’t born with wings.” Twilight snides back.
“I…. I never mentioned that,” Sunset stammers.
“Then how did I know that?” Twilight asks.
“It’s got to be like I said,” Pinkie points out. “You’re slowly getting the memories of the other Twilight, pretty soon you’ll have both her and your memories, that’ll be so cool.”
Twilight sighs, “Maybe it’ll help with the wings, and the obvious magical abilities I already seem to have.” she finally gets up with Rainbow Dash’s help and spreads her wings trying to get her balance. “This is going to take some getting use to.”
Rarity walks around Twilight “The amazing thing to me is as far as I can tell there’s no holes in your outfit, it’s more like your wings are part of your dress more than you.”
“Maybe it’s the magic of the shard?” Twilight suggests,
“That would make sense,” Rarity says.
Twilight reaches for the necklace she assumes she has, “It’s not there.”
“You got a headband there Twilight.” Applejack motions to Twilight’s head.
Twilight feels the headband and the ears. “Great, just great.”
“Just use your magic like you did for Pinkie,” Sunset suggests.
Twilight nods and takes a few breaths calming herself down, the star on her headband glows faintly as the changes to her fade like they did on Pinkie Pie. “So much better.”
"Now, would you mind doing the rest of us?" Rarity asks. Twilight complies and soon they all appear human again, and Rainbow Dash is begrudgingly on the ground.
"I think I made it so that each of us can turn the illusion on and off as we need." Twilight says and then glares at Rainbow Dash, "But that isnt' a good reason to go flying around."
"I got it!" Rainbow Dash says, "Keep my feet on the ground unless necessary."
"I'm not saying we can't fly." Twilight says, "In fact I'm hoping you can teach me, I'm just saying we've got to be careful, and find an area where people can't see us."
Applejack takes her hat off and wipes the sweat off her forehead. “Whoa, bricklaying sure is harder than apple bucking.”
“I’ve never done this hard of work in my life!” Twilight says as she looks at her blistered hands.
“You seem to catch on quick enough,” Rainbow Dash says.
“I read a book on it when I realized it was going to be necessary to do some,” Twilight mentions nonchalantly.
“You learned bricklaying from a book?” Rainbow asks.
“No, I learned the basics from the book, I learned the rest from all of you as we went along.”
“Well,’ Applejack says, “we’ve fixed the school up, again, so hopefully we won’t need to do this again.”
“I don’t know,” Twilight says, “with Queen Chrysalis and her changelings out there I have a feeling we’re in for trouble.”
"We'll really kick her butt next time!" Pinkie exclaims..
"Pinkie's right," Rarity says, "the shards have given us impressive abilities, along with the physical changes."
"What do you mean?" Twilight asks.
"Well, obviously you can use magic now!" Rarity states, "while I can levitate objects rather easily."
"Any of the rest of you get abilities?" Twilight asks.
Pinkie does 5 cartwheels, and spins, and a few other miscellaneous tricks, "Olympic gymnastic team here I come!"
"I... um... feel the weather changing," Rainbow Dash admits, "I think I might be able to control it."
Applejack shakes her head at Rainbow, "the shard made me even stronger than Big Mac, and y'all know how strong he is!"
"Fluttershy?" Twilight asks and notices Fluttershy is off to the side with her dog Spike.
"Yes, Spike it does seem unfair that I am on only one that can understand you," Fluttershy says, "you want me to tell the other's what?"
"Fluttershy?" Twilight asks as she comes upon the girl, "what are you doing?"
"I'm talking to Spike," Fluttershy answers nonchalantly.
"He's a dog," Twilight points out.
Fluttershy blushes and very quietly says, "I can talk to animal's now."
Twilight smiles, "you must be very happy, you told me you wished you could know what they wanted."
"Um, Twilight," Fluttershy murmurs, "I told that to the other Twilight."
"Oh," Twilight looks down, having had not realized she was getting her double's memories again.
"Anyway," Fluttershy starts, "Spike wants me to tell you that he has all of his double's memories, apparently it wasn't hard for him to assimilate them."
"That's... just amazing," Twilight says, "we'll have to talk about that later," Fluttershy nods and they head to the others, who have finished cleaning up.
"Who wants to come back to the farm with me and have a nice cool glass a cider?" Applejack offers. Then they all nod and head off.
Fall becomes Winter as the friends all learn to use their new powers, and adapt to their physically changed forms, thankfully due to the process being magical it wasn't necessary for Rarity to actually modify any clothing, their clothing just did it itself and the illusion hide the changes.
"You know Sunset," Twilight says, "I must say I don't think I could've gotten the hang of this magic without your help."
"It's the least I could do," Sunset says, "I was pretty bad before hand."
Twilight nods, "Well I forgive you for everything."
Sunset smiles, "Thank you!"
Pinkie comes practically bouncing in, "Girls, look!" She holds out a poster for the Winter Formal Dance.
"Seriously?" Sunset asks, "After everything that happened at the Fall Formal, Principal Celestia's holding another dance?"
"The Fall Formal ended alright," Pinkie jokes. "Everyone danced and everything."
"Look, they're going to crown the Winter Princess," Twilight says.
"You should enter," Sunset says. "Everyone remembers what your double did for and at the Fall Formal, you'd be a shoo in!"
"Why don't we both enter and let it be an honest competition?" Twilight suggests.
Sunset nods, "That seems fair, now who do we tell that we want to enter?"
"The poster says, 'The President of the Winter Formal Planning Committee.'" Twilight says, "Which is?"
"Me silly," Pinkie answers. "This is going to be great! Principal Celestia is gonna let me make a party cannon, that shoots streamers, and confetti, it's compressed-air powered, and it shoots at a low velocity so no one will get hurt, but still. Party Cannon!"
"She's serious, isn't she?" Sunset asks.
"Just be glad it's not like the one her double has," Twilight replies.
"Why's that?"
"It's likely blow someone to pieces, she used it to fight changelings."
"I see you're remembering more and more."
"Some things come back quickly, and some things just remind me of the other world, it's strange," Twilight admits, "Even weirder is that none of the others seem to be affected."
"It's got to be because your double is the only one who crossed here, thats probably the difference," Pinkie says.
"Yeah, that's definitely it." Twilight says, "I've had some long conversations with Spike, through Fluttershy, and that's helped me fill in some of the blanks. I'm hoping that when Queen Chrysalis attacks again I'll be able to summon the Harmony Blast."
"Is that the thing that your double blasted me with?" Sunset asks.
"Yeah."
"Ouch, I don't feel sorry for Queen Chrysalis."
"Okay," Pinkie says, "I have you two written down, good luck. Oh, Twilight, you think you can help me with some up high decorations? I plan on getting Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy too."
Twilight chuckles at the insinuation, "I'll try, but I still haven't quite gotten the hang of doing that yet, and I've not seen Fluttershy do so either."
Pinkie nods, "I'll get Rainbow for sure then, Applejack said she'd do all the heavy lifting for me!" She chuckles as she walks off
Twilight shakes her head, "Pinkie Pie, will always be Pinkie Pie." She sighs, "Come on, let's go see Rarity, I'd like to give her plenty of time to make me a dress if she will."
"You know she will," Sunset states. "Especially since this is your first actual dance here," They go the The Boutique and knock.
Rarity opens the door, "Oh, deary come in, come in. What can I do for the two of you?"
"We saw the posters for the Winter Formal and were wondering..." Twilight trails off unsure how to word her request.
"You want to know if I'd make your desses?" Rarity asks and Twilight nods. "I'd be delighted!"
"I can pay you," Sunset says.
"Oh, heaven's no, not for more than material. I don't mind making dresses for my friends," Rarity says, "Are you both running for Princess?"
"Yeah, and we just want it to be an honest campaign, not back talking, or anything, just two friends running against each other to see who wins, no hard feeling, or anything," Twilight answers.
"That sounds wonderful! Now let's get some measurements so I can make the dresses!"
An hour or so later they leave the boutique, "Twi!" a male voice yells and Twilight turns around with a grin as she is immediately hugged by Flash, and they kiss. "Pinkie said you'd probably be at the Boutique," Flash says after they break the kiss.
Twilight nods, "Just seeing Rarity."
"I was hoping that you'd already had her making your dress, cause I want to ask you to go with me to the Winter Formal."
Twilight tries not to chuckle, "I hadn't planned on going."
"Then why are you here seeing Rarity?"
"She's my friend?" she squeaks out, but then starts laughing, "Ok, ok, I came to get her to start working on my dress. I figured I'd go even if I went by myself."
"Then will you go with me?"
"Of course Flash," Twilight answers as they kiss again.
The 7 friends are gathered in a hallway one morning when a girl about their age walks up to them. "Excuse me, but I was told that one of you is the president of the Winter Formal Planning Committee."
The others get quiet as Pinkie steps forward. "I'm the president of the Winter Formal planning committee, name's Pinkie Pie, what can I do you for?"
"I'm new here, but I'd like to run for Winter Princess."
"Okey dokey!" Pinkie says as she digs the necessary paperwork out of her purse. "here you go, just sign this," the girl does so, "Crystal Pupa, good luck!"
"Hi there Crystal, I'm Twilight Sparkle." she extends her hand to shake the new girl's, "I'm also running for Winter Princess."
Crystal shakes Twilight's hand, "And I'm Sunset Shimmer, you're other contender." Sunset states as she also shakes Crystal's hand.
"You two are friends and competing against each other?" Crystal seems surprised.
"We competed against each other at the Fall Formal, and became friends because of it," Twilight states.
"So we figure why mess with tradition?" Sunset jokes, "So good luck Crystal, for what it's worse I hope you beat both of us!"
Twilight chuckles, "That'd show us, wouldn't it?
The rest of girls introduce themselves and then all go to class, at lunch the friends call Crystal over to their table. "You can sit where ever you'd like," Twilight says. "We just thought you might like to sit with a few people you know."
Crystal nods, "I think I will today, but I think I'll try sitting with other people tomorrow, get my name out there."
"That's a smart girl!" Applejack says, "Go for it!"
“You won't be hurt?" Crystal asks.
"Nah, you're new, you got to decide who you want to be your friends, if it's us, you'll come back," Rainbow says matter-of-factly.
“I think this should make for an interesting competition,” Sunset remarks.
“Hopefully we won’t have any problems like we did last time,” Twilight says.
“Let’s see, no magical crown to influence my decisions, or turn me into a dark-hybrid, I think we’ll be good.”
Twilight grins, “Good!” They all eat their lunch and the rest of the day goes normally.
A few days later the friends are chatting in the hallway when Apple Bloom walks up to them, "Hey, y'all better come see what we found!" Not sure what else to do the friends follow Apple Bloom to the computer room where Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle are already sitting at a computer, "All right Sweetie, play it."
Sweetie Belle nods and plays the video, the video is a obvious smear campaign against both Sunset and Twilight, after the video ends, "We found it when we were looking to see how many hits our bandpage got."
"CMC forever!" Scootaloo cheers and the liberian glares at her, "Sorry."
"I don't understand, the only other person running is Crystal, why would she run something like this?" Twilight asks.
"I don't know, but it explains where Snips and Snails have been," Sunset comments.
"So what are we going to do?" Twilight asks.
Sunset shrugs, "What she aired wasn't anywhere near as bad as what I used to try and destroy the other Twilight. It's not like she has footage of any of you using your powers, or even in your hybrid forms, so it's nothing that I don't think the students won't overlook. I suggest you all be very careful for awhile, if Crystal got some of the pictures she did imagine what she could get if she was sneakier."
"We'll have to be extra careful," Twilight says and looks at Rainbow Dash.
"Unless there's a fight, I'll stay on the ground until after the dance," Rainbow Dash says, "last thing I want is pictures of me flying around on the internet."
"Fluttershy," Twilight says getting her attention.
"Yes?" Fluttershy asks quietly.
"You think you could get the mice to spy on Crystal for me?" Twilight asks, "I feel like something more is going on here."
"I'll try."
“Wait? We have mice?” Rarity asks aghast.
“Every building has mice Rarity,” Twilight says.
“And since I can talk to animals now, all the animals around here trust me and will usually do what I ask,” Fluttershy admits, “I’ve been feeding them so that they will stay out of sight for the most part.”
“Good, your mice spy on Crystal. I’ll go confront Snips and Snails, and see if I can’t get them to stop spying on us,” Sunset says.
“The rest of us should keep to business as usual,” Twilight says.
“We still practicing tonight Scoots?” Dash asks the younger teen.
“Yeah, sounds good,” Scootaloo answers.
“I thought your band had a gig tonight?” Rarity asks, “That’s what Sweetie said.”
“Is that tonight?” Scootaloo asks looking at the other two girls.
“Yeah, it’s that audiation Scoots,” Sweetie says looking slightly toward Apple Bloom, “So it doesn’t pay anything, but we gotta play.”
“Sorry Dash,” Scoots says glaring at Sweetie slightly, “looks like we’ll have to reschedule.”
Rainbow nods, “we’ll figure it out later,” with that the older girls all leave.
Scootaloo hits Sweetie Belle in the shoulder, “You got to tell me when you need me to cover for your make-out sessions.”
“Sorry Scoots,” Sweetie says with a blush, “We’ll make it up to you."
The day of the dance arrives, and unfortunately for Pinkie because of Crystal's snooping she has been unable to get Rainbow to fly up and set up decorations from the rafters like she wanted, but the gymnasium looks great anyway. The friends all munching on some apples Applejack brought in for a snack, "Well Pinkie, I think ya out did yerself this time," Applejack says.
Pinkie grins, "Thanks Applejack. I've been trying real hard to get it just right. I even got the party cannon set up so I can randomly launch confetti tonight, so it's gonna be great!"
Rarity looks at the party cannon wearily. "Are you sure this thing's safe?"
"Of course, Principal Celestia looked over it herself. I installed all kinds of fail-safes, if even one fails then the cannon won't work," Pinkie says, "Make for a bummer party, but I can't risk hurting anyone, because then they won't smile."
"Right," Rarity says.
"Twilight I'm worried," Fluttershy says quietly.
"Why's that Fluttershy?" Twilight asks.
"None of the mice I asked to spy on Crystal ever came back."
Twilight frowns, "I hope they're okay. I may not like mice much, but they have a right to life too."
Fluttershy nods, "At least I got volunteers that didn't have much to lose if they didn't come back, they knew the risks."
"Glad you are such good friends with the animals Fluttershy," Twilight says and Fluttershy nods.
"Come on everyone, " Rarity says, "to the Boutique, I have your dresses ready."
They all head to the Boutique and look at their dresses. "Um, Rarity?" Twilight says as she looks at her dress, "Why is there no back to my dress?"
"Oh silly me, I thought you might want to let your wings show tonight. I heard several girls say they were adding wings to their dresses to be Winter Angels, so I thought you 3 might like to do that." Rarity answers.
"Seriously?" Rainbow Dash asks as she looks at her dress, "can we Twilight?"
Twilight sighs and looks to Fluttershy, "Up to you Fluttershy," Fluttershy nods, "Okay, let's do this," They all change into their dresses, then Rainbow, Twilight and Fluttershy allow the illusion over their wings to fade so they can be seen.
Pinkie grins at Fluttershy, then looks at her dress, "Rarity, you don't think..."
Rarity rolls her eyes, but walks over to a closet and pulls out a pair of fake pink wings, "Here Pinkie."
Pinkie takes the wings and Fluttershy comes over and helps her get them on, "Yeah! I get to have wings like Flutters for a night!" Flutters blushes slightly at the comment.
"Come on y'all," Applejack says as she adjusts her hat, “we got a dance to go to.”
They arrive at the dance, and the first person to see them is Flash, he comes up to them obviously shocked, "Twi, your wings!"
Twilight smiles, "I'm a Winter Angel, look," She motions to the growing crowd, where you can plainly see several other girls wearing wings, all of them different colors.
Flash chuckles, "I'm fine with that, just hadn't got to see them in a while."
"We're rarely alone Flash," Twilight says.
"I know, we'll have to work on that," he kisses her lightly and they all go in.
"Rainbow Dash!" A female voice yells out, and she stops to look around as Scootaloo comes up to her.
"Hey Scoots," Rainbow Dash says.
"Look Rainbow," Scootaloo says as she turns around, showing Rainbow Dash the pair of small orange wings on her back. "I have wings like you do now!"
Rainbow Dash smiles remembering taking the time during the last dance to fly Scootaloo around. "That's great Scoots!"
"I wore them to our concert the other night and went crowd diving, almost felt like I was flying!" Scootaloo says.
Rainbow Dash looks at Scootaloo, and takes in the relatively skimpy dress she's wearing for her age, "You went crowd diving in that?"
Scootaloo looks at her outfit, "Ah, no. I always wear jeans in concert, I wore a halter top and attached the wings to it. Only had one or two people put their hands where they shouldn't, most people are careful cause of my age."
"That's real cool Scoot, maybe I can take you flying sometime."
Scootaloo smiles, "I'd like that, you and me alone in the wild blue."
"Yeah, sounds good, huh?" Rainbow Dash asks and Scootaloo nods..
"Attention, attention!" Principal Celestia calls over the microphone, the crowd starts to get quiet, "I'd like to thank you all for coming tonight," crowd cheers then quiets, "It's with great honor that I announce the winner of the Winter Princess competition," she opens up the envelope, "Sunset Shimmer!"
"I won?" Sunset goes up and Principal Celestia crowns her with a silver crown, with a sapphire in it.
"You ran this race with dignity Sunset, I'm proud of you," Principal Celestia says.
"You've all forgiven me?" Sunset asks as she starts to cry. Meanwhile in the school, sitting in her locker the long-forgotten bag of Harmony Shards glows and a shard flies out glowing red.
Crystal marches up to the podium. "How can they vote for you, you betrayed them?"
"What?" Sunset says shocked.
"They should've voted for me!" Crystal states as her voice starts to change,"Of course I am to be their Queen, not their princess," with that her form changes to a older woman in black with bat-like wings and she laughs evilly.
"Queen Chrysalis!" Twilight accuses.
"Yes, I'm back and ready to defeat you!" Chrysalis yells and her changeling army rushes through the door.
The friends instantly let the illusion fade so they're in full pony-hybrid form and start fighting the horde, "We need to get them outside! We don't want the innocents hurt!" Twilight commands and almost instantly the horde of changelings is pushed outside.
Rainbow Dash flies up into the sky, and clouds quickly gather and it starts raining. “That should keep them on the ground!”
Applejack literally grabs changelings and tosses them at one another, while Pinkie keeps avoiding attacks using her acrobatics. Rarity is hitting changelings with random objects she picks up with her telekinesis.
Fluttershy keeps backing away trying to stay out of the fight, when she gets surrounded, and let’s out an ‘eep’ as the changelings attack her, she closes her eyes and prepares for the worse when she hears a roar. She opens her eyes to see a bear standing there with a changeling pin to the ground. “You want to help?” Fluttershy asks and the bear roars again, and several other woodland creatures come out and start distracting changelings. Twilight is in obvious concentration, trying to use the magic of harmony when several changelings move in to attack her.
“Twilight!” Rainbow Dash yells as she dives for her friend, she grabs Twilight and pulls up into the air, accidentally causing the Sonic Rainboom to echo through the school yard, once again damaging the school. “What was that?” she asks as she lets Twilight go.
Twilight, now flying with Rainbow answers, “That was your signature move, the Sonic Rainboom.”
“That was awesome!”
“Yes, now I need to land and try and get the Harmony Blast to work, it just feels like there’s something missing.” Twilight states right ebfore Chrysalis tackles her from above, and several changelings flock Rainbow Dash. Chrysalis pins Twilight to the ground. "Now you're mine!" she goes to attack Twilight but is knocked off her by a fireball.
"Not so fast!" Sunset Shimmer says as she stands on the steps of the school, orange pony ears on her head, and a red and orange tail on her back. A red and orange sun pendant on her neck, and a fireball in her hand. "You see, I always liked playing with fire," grins at the implications.
"Now!" Twilight says, feeling the energy now that there are seven of them, the Harmony Blast forms and smashes Chrysalis, the rainbow swirl enveloping her and an individual ray of rainbow hitting each changeling immobilizing them. When the Harmony Blast dissipates Chrysalis is laying in a crater. “Chrysalis?” Twilight asks warily as she approaches the crater.
“Twilight Sparkle,” Chrysalis calls out from the crater. “What has happened to me? I feel so.. different.”
“That’s the magic of the Shards of Harmony, and the friendship that helps empower them.” Twilight says.
“I shouldn’t have come here” Chrysalis says in shock, “We changelings don’t belong in this world.”
“I wish we could send you back, but the gate is closed” Twilight says
“I feel a little bit of my magic returning to me, the power of your friendship, is feeding me and making me a bit stronger, I think with your help I could reopen the gate, just long enough to return me and my changelings to where we belong.”
“I think we can arrange that,” Twilight says, “I hope that when you return to Equestria you attempt to make up for past mistakes.”
“I will,” Chrysalis says, “I hope to go to Princess Celestia and see if we can work out some way to feed my changelings without hurting her ponies. We do have a right to live, do we not?”
“I can’t argue with that,” Twilight says, “gather your changelings and bring them to the horse statue.”
Chrysalis flies out of the crater and toward the statue, and all the changelings follow her. Twilight and the rest of the group follow after them, they all arrive at the statue and six of the friends make a circle around the statue with Twilight and Chrysalis in the middle. The others join hands, as Twilight and Chrysalis touch one hand to the statue and the other to each other, those in the circle begin to glow with energy, and then suddenly the energy shoots from them and hits Twilight, and she instantly focuses into the statue. The back of the statue begins to ripple.
“Go now,” Twilight orders, “I don’t know how long the gate will hold!”
“Thank you for everything Twilight,” Chrysalis says as her changelings quickly file through the gateway, “I’ll never forget what you did here,” With that she goes through the gate, and the energy fades and the gate closes as Twilight slumps to the ground.
“I’m exhausted,” Twilight says.
“Twi!” Flash calls out as he pushes through the circle of friends, “Are you okay?”
Twilight nods numbly, “I just need to rest.”
“I’ll get you home,” Flash says and helps her up and they head off.
The group, minus Fluttershy pulls up in Rainbow Dash's van, Twilight's driving, "You know, it is my van?" Rainbow Dash asks
"Yes, and the rest of us don't like going 120 MPH," Rarity states. "That's why I asked Twilight to drive, she's a lot more sensible about it."
"Come on, let's check this place out," Rainbow Dash says as they head in.
"Hey Pinkie!" The man behind the bar yells out.
"Hey Captain!" Pinkie says and walks over to the bar, "These are my friends, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity, Twilight Sparkle, and Sunset Shimmer, girls, this is Morgan, the owner of this place."
"We just heard you call him Captain," Twilight points out.
"Retired Navy Captain, most people just call me Captain."
"Is Flutters here yet?" Pinkie asks.
Morgan shakes his head, "She came in yesterday and told me you were coming though, made sure I held a table for you. Jose, take Pinkie and her friends to the reserved table."
A boy about their age comes up to them and speaks in a heavy spanish accent. "This way ladies," he leads them to the table set aside for them.
"Thank you... is it Jose?" Sunset asks.
Jose nods, "Si, Jose Cuervo."
"Pleased to meet you," Sunset says and Jose heads off. A few minutes later they notice their friend from school, the electric blue haired Vinyl Scratch come out and do some stuff to the equipment.
"Hey Vinyl!" Pinkie calls out.
"Hey Pinkie!" Vinyl answers, "What can I do for you?"
"Is the band here yet?" Pinkie asks, looking at the empty seat at their table.
"Yeah, they're here, and trust me you won't be disappointed, "Vinyl says as she heads off.
A crowd begins to gather in the room, and they talk, not knowing how long until the music will start. Just then the music starts softly.
"I guess Fluttershy chickened out," Applejack says.
Pinkie pouts slight but says, “Maybe she just got caught up,” Just then the singer starts sing ]"Cover My Eyes" by Birthday Massacre.
As the song starts they all look up at the band only to realize that the singer was their missing companion, "I knew Flutters could sing, but damn!" Pinkie says incredulously as she stares at the girl dressed in a skimpy leather outfit, "Damn I never realized my girlfriend was that hot!"
The other's look at her, "Girlfriend?" Twilight asks.
"Yeah, me and Flutters been going out since the whole tattoo thing," Pinkie answers.
"And you never thought to mention your relationship to the rest of us?" Twilight asks.
"Didn't see how it was that big a deal, right Rarity?" Pinkie says as she looks at Rarity and Applejack, obviously sitting closer to each other than they had earlier.
"Well, you see.." Rarity stammers, "It's like, um. I mean."
"What she's trying to say," Applejack says, "Is me and her are an item too."
Twilight shakes her head and looks at Rainbow Dash, "And you?"
Rainbow blushes slightly, "My situation is, um, unique, me and this younger girl you see."
"You and Scootaloo?" Rarity questions and Rainbow nods, "My, my I wonder what Sweetie Belle and Applebloom think of that."
Rainbow Dash suddenly looks very uncomfortable, "Whatcha know bout mah sis? Spill!" Applejack says forcefully.
"Scoots told me Applebloom and Sweetie Belle have been an item since puberty," Rainbow Dash admits.
"Aw Hell!" Applejack says, "Figures!"
"I suppose we should tell her sisters about us and see if they'll give us the same courtesy?" Rarity suggests and Applejack nods.
"Sunset?" Twilight asks nervously.
"Still single, but that Jose guy's kind of hot, then again so was that girl that set up the sound system."
"Seriously? I'm the only straight one in the entire group?" Twilight asks.
"Looks that way," Sunset answers and Twilight just sighs.
"Quiet everyone," Pinkie says excitedly. "I think Flutters is gonna sing another one."
Everyone gets quiet and they listen to Fluttershy sing “Butterfly” by dk.Smile.
The friends all look at Fluttershy in complete shock, not a one of them had expected she to sing something so...lively, “We’ll be back in a few minutes,” Fluttershy says through the mic and then climbs down and goes and gives Pinkie a huge hug, “So how was I?”
“Flutters, you were great!” Pinkie exclaims as she kisses her girlfriend.
Fluttershy kisses back and then smiles after they break the kiss, “I take it you finally told the others?”
“It sort of slipped, hope you don’t mind.”
“It’s alright, I just wasn’t sure how they’d take us being together,” Fluttershy admits.
“Twilight seems to be the most shocked, the others seem alright.”
“I’m fine,” Rarity says. “As long as you promise to let me do your wedding dresses.”
“And let me cater the reception,” Applejack jokes.
Pinkie laughs, “Who’s going to do you dresses when you two get hitched?”
“Applejack and Rarity are together?” Fluttershy asks and Pinkie nods, “Oh, they make such a cute couple!”
“I could design my own dress,” Rarity says, “but I’m sure Applejack would want someone else to do hers so I don’t see it before the wedding.”
“I ain’t into superstition that much Rare,”
“We’ll figure it out when we get to that point,” Rarity says. “First I think we need to talk to our siblings, from what Rainbow Dash says we may end up having them marry each other too.”
“You won’t have a problem with that?” Applejack asks.
“Heaven’s no, I want my sister to be happy, just like I am,” Rarity answers and kisses Applejack on the cheek.
“Girls, I got to get back on stage, it’s time for my next set,” Fluttershy says.
“Have fun Flutters,” Pinkie says then kisses her again for luck. Fluttershy gets back up on stage and the rest of the crowd cheers. The lights go down and the music starts, a spotlight on Fluttershy as she starts singing, “Bring me to Life Remix” by Evanescence part way into the song the lights come on and Flash is seen at another microphone dressed in a pair of tight leather pants and tight leather tank top, he joins in singing with Fluttershy.
The music dies down as the crowd cheers, “We got one more for you, one of my personal favorites,” Fluttershy says, “Feel free to sing along if you know it.” the music starts and she sings “I Love Rock and Roll” by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.
“Thank you Canterlot!” Fluttershy says as she bows and the crowd cheers tremendously.
“Encore! Encore!”
Fluttershy blushes slightly, “We don’t really have anything else prepared.”
“I got it!” Pinkie says and whispers to Twilight before going up and whispering to Fluttershy and then the members of the band. “Okay guys, we’ve got one more for you, but we’re going to need our friends,” Pinkie says and motions for the other to come up on stage. Pinkie moves over to Fluttershy, and Twilight comes up to Flash. Applejack and Rarity go to a third mic. Rainbow Dash and Sunset Shimmer stay seated. The groups of them sing “Don’t go Breaking my Heart” by Elton John.
After the applause dies down they all go and sit down. “Fluttershy, I must say you were amazing!” Rarity says.
“Thank you Rarity.” Fluttershy mumbles slightly embarrassed. “Pinkie heard me singing to my animals and encouraged me to sing more. I came to Flash, and sang for him, and he introduced me to the girls in the band, they just needed a lead singer, and once they heard me they were more than happy to have me.”
“How did you ever overcome your shyness enough to get up on stage?” Twilight asks.
“It’s all thanks to Pinkie!” Fluttershy answers, “Being with her has given me more confidence than I thought I could ever have.”
Pinkie grins, “That reminds me.” She pats her pockets, “Where’d I leave that ring?”
“Ring?” Fluttershy looks shocked.
Pinkie finally pulls a ring box from her hair. “Flutters, will you marry me?” She opens the box to reveal a ring with a butterfly design the body is diamond, and the wings emerald and sapphire.
Fluttershy gasps and hugs Pinkie. “Of course I’ll marry you!” the two kiss and then Fluttershy puts on the ring.
“This has certainly been an interesting night,” Twilight says.
“It has,” Rarity says. “And I believe it’s time to for us to head home.”
Monday morning Rarity is sitting at the table in her studio when Sweetie Belle comes down for breakfast. “Sweetie,” Rarity says.
“Yeah sis?” Sweetie responds.
“Can you are your friend Apple Bloom come by the Boutique tonight? I have something I wish to discuss with the two of you.”
“Um, sure, we’ll come right after school,” Sweetie says, then asks curiously. “What’s this about?”
“Something important, I’ll tell you when we’re all together.”
“Okay,” Sweetie looks weary, but not sure what else to say she heads onto school.
“This should be interesting,” Rarity says as she finishes her tea then gets into her car and heads to school, knowing Sweetie would rather show up on her own, instead of with her.
She pulls up and parks among the other girls cars. A beat up pickup truck pulls up next to her porsche, and Applejack gets out., “Hey Rares.”
Rarity smiles, “Hey AJ.”
“We good for this afternoon?”
“Sweetie said she’d bring Bloom by after school.”
“Let’s get this day over with.”

“Hey Bloom!” Sweetie Belle calls out to her friend as she walks to school.
“Hey Sweetie!” Apple Bloom smiles as she sees her friend, “What’s up?”
“Rarity asked me to bring you to the Boutique after school.”
“That doesn’t sound good,” Apple Bloom remarks, “you think she knows about …“ she whispers, “us?”
Sweetie groans, “I hope not, I’m sure she won’t be happy.”
“We’ll just have to deal with it right?” Apple Bloom asks.
Sweetie smiles slightly, “I suppose so,” she leans over and kisses the other girl.
“Since when did you two decide to do that in public?” Scootaloo asks and the two girls blush.
“Scoots, you been listening to our own conversation?” Apple Bloom asks.
“Hey, I’ve seen you two go down on each other, so don’t go into privacy with me,” Scootaloo says.
“Yeah, ya got a point there,” Apple Bloom says.
“You got plans for this afternoon?” Sweetie asks.
“Yeah, I’m going to hang with Dash,” Scootaloo answers.
“How are things going between you two?” Sweetie asks.
“We’re going as far as we can, at least you two are the same age so it’s no big deal,” Scootaloo answers.
“She’s only like 2 years older than ya,” Bloom says, “I don’t see what the big deal is.”
“The laws saw she’d be a pedophile if we were more than friends”
“She isn’t even human anymore,” Sweetie points out, “Could they really charge her?”
“I’m sure they would,” Scootaloo says, “if I could become like her, I’m sure they couldn’t charge her, cause then neither of us would be human.”
Sweetie grins, “we’ll have to steal you a shard.”
“I’m not sure that would work, the others all have some sort of attribute that the shards bonded with. Your sister,” she points to Apple Bloom “is honesty, yours,” she points to Sweetie “is generosity. Pinkie’s laughter, Fluttershy’s kindness, Rainbow’s loyalty, Twilight’s magic, and Sunset’s forgiveness.”
“I’m sure we could find something for ya Scoots,” Apple Bloom says, “Don’t give up!”
Scootaloo smiles slightly, “We’ll see.”
“Come on, we’re going to be late for school,” Sweetie says and they all rush to school.

That afternoon the two young teens walk to Rarity’s Boutique. “Hey Sweets,” Bloom says, “Is that mah sisters truck outside the Boutique?”
Sweetie sighs as she looks at the beat-up truck, “I think so.”
“This is going to be bad, isn’t it?” Bloom asks.
“Probably, let’s get this over with,” Sweetie says and they walk into the Boutique finding Applejack and Rarity sitting at the table.
“Hello girls,” Rarity says.
“We got something to tell ya,” Applejack says as she places her hand on Rarity’s.
Bloom sees her sister and the fashionista holding hands and thinks ‘ma sister and sweets sister? no!’
“What… what are you two saying?” Sweetie asks hesitantly.
“We're a couple, Sweetie,” Rarity says, “Maybe one day more than that.”
“One day at a time there Rare,” Applejack says and Rarity nods.
“So y’all wanted us to come by here so ya could tell us you were dating?” Bloom asks.
Rarity nods, “we thought it’d be best to tell you before you heard from Scootaloo, as Rainbow Dash and her hang together a lot.”
“Actually her and Dash are actually kind of dating,” Sweetie admits.
“We already know that,” Rarity says.
“Rainbow admitted as much,” Applejack adds.
“I can’t believe Dash would tell ya that!” Bloom exclaims, “She could be arrested.”
“Only if she goes too far,” Rarity says.
Sweetie looks at Bloom tenderly and Bloom sighs before saying. “Look, I guess we should tell ya’ll sum’thin’ too.”
“Whatcha ya got Bloom?” Applejack asks her sister.
“Me and Sweetie, we um …” Bloom blushes.
“We’re not exactly a couple per say,” Sweetie says blushing, “but we do help each other relieve tension at this time, we’re not sure where it’s going from there.”
The older teens nod, “Perhaps you two should talk it over,” Rarity says, “Fluttershy and Pinkie are already engaged to be married, and it’s raised the question to the rest of us.”
“Fluttershy,” Sweetie looks in shock, “and Pinkie Pie?”
“And ya’ll have no problem with that?” Bloom asks hesitantly.
“We’re discussing that one day we may do it ourselves,” Rarity says.
“Though neither of us is ready for that right now,” Applejack says.
“Maybe the two of us should think about that,” Sweetie says as she looks at Bloom.
Bloom looks off in thought for a second. “Maybe we can officially start dating?”
The friends are all gathered around a table, “We made it through another year ladies,” Pinkie grins.
“It’ll be nice to be able to work on some of my dresses without having to worry about school work.” Rarity comments.
“I know whatcha mean Rares,” Applejacks says. “We ain’t exactly behind at the farm, but having the extra time will help.”
“It’ll help now that Big Mac is graduated won’t it?” Twilight asks.
“At little, but he’s still gonna go to night school, he wants to further his education.” Applejack answers.
“I can’t say as I blame him,” Twilight comments.
“You’ll probably spend all summer studying, so what do you care?” Rainbow asks.
Twilight blushes slightly, “That is what I NORMALLY do, but I hadn’t had friends before. I was thinking I might come visit each of you here and there just to get out of the house.”
“A distraction, that is not Sweetie and her friends practicing at the Boutique is always welcome.” Rarity says.
“And we could always use another hand at the farm.” Applejack mentions.
“I’ll be here helping the Cakes,” Pinkie says. “They’re teaching me all their secrets.”
“I’ve got a part-time job at the Canterlot Animal Clinic,” Fluttershy admits.
“And I’ve got soccer camp,” Rainbow Dash says.
“We’ll manage to meet up a couple times I’m sure though” Twilight says.
“Totally, we’ll make time for each other, right?” Rainbow asks and the others nod.
“How about you Sunset?” Twilight asks.
“I was thinking….” Sunset gets very quiet.
“What were you thinking?” Twilight asks.
“Well, Trixie and I were discussing where I’m from the other day, and she asked about my double’s parents. I was thinking I should go meet them.” Sunset answers.
“And the great and Powerful Trixie!” the blue skinned girl announces as she walks up to the table and places her hand on Sunset’s shoulder, “shall accompany you.”
“Sunset, I think that’s a marvelous idea. Do you want me to come too?” Twilight asks.
Sunset shakes her head and places her hand on Trixie’s, “I think it’d be better if the two of us went alone.”
