Hello. Short story is that reading pony words has been my procrastination poison of choice for some time now, so naturally I've managed to read a lot of fics... and hey look, I've even written one two!

About 90% of everything I drink is tea. The correct way to serve tea is milk no sugar.

Twilight is the best pony, but only just. Rarity is a nose behind. Luna is best princess. Sweetie is best crusader. Best changeling is a tie between Mirror Match and... Rarity?

Avatar source is The Moon Rises by Yokogumo.

Pony Stories from Other Parts of the Internet.

It's a Dangerous Business, Going Out Your Door. Some call this a crossover, but it's not really. I call it a story written in the spirit of The Hobbit. Regardless, it's a lovely adventure story which is as much about the characters themselves as the hardships they face.

Constellations. There's something truly timeless about this story.

The Worst Bakers in Equestria Saga. Yes, apparently I like farces. Yes, this is exactly as silly as it sounds. But it has Luna accidently becoming a superhero and probably my favourite vision of Trixie. What's not to like?

So, Wanderer D, the awesome, Tony Stark-look-alike guy that he is, just posted a lengthy essay on why fan fiction is literature. It should come as no surprise to anyone who has delved into my ancient blog posts that I agree wholeheartedly (but for goodness sake, don't read my essay, read the linked essay—it's much better, written by someone who actually knows their stuff, and isn't a hastily copy-pasted forum post missing it's original context).

Anyway, as I said, the essay is lengthy so I thought I'd try illustrating one of Wanderer D's main points in terms of quickly digested images and text. More after the break.

Working Title: The Summer Sun Celebration (info here)

Word Count: Something like 21-22k

Status: Okay, I need to to either rewrite a minor arc, or just cut it. Then it's just some tidying up. Also, I really should hosts-file-block fimfiction when attempting to write right now, because the temptation to procrastinate keeps getting me.

Latest Stories

The Wrong Fork

During a lull in the conversation at an upper class charity dinner, Rarity takes a moment to contemplate some commonly held assumptions made of Princess Celestia. Specifically, her table manners.

Never So Far Away

Twilight takes a walk in the woods near Canterlot to clear her mind, when a mischievous little phoenix starts dropping chestnut shells on her head. Quite a familiar mischievous little phoenix.

Somewhat inspired by the song "Evermore" by Alison Krauss, a story to perhaps make its reader smile.

Thanks go to Skywriter, GhostOfHeraclitus, and "Nettle" for pre-reading; and Ziom05 of deviantART for permission to use "Sun Springs" as the cover art.

I'm afraid it got stuck in my to-read list for pretty much forever, but I finally got round to it in the end! (Seriously. I think changelings were all the rage back when I added it.)

Glad you liked Never So Far Away.

Not that funny at all!  Who doesn't want to produce some huge epic full of adventure and fun and wild happenings?  I know I tried.

I came to realize that I'm actually rubbish at any sort of character interactions, so I've opted to stick to short insight fics.

That want to do something is still there, though...  It's all about getting the confidence to run with it.

The funny thing? I started out assuming I would write epic [Adventure]s. I still want to, but I guess it's better learn to walk before learning to run—but don't worry I'll certainly do more [Slice of Life]s as ideas come to me.

And thanks. :twilightblush:

I just wanted to say, thank you for recommending that I read "Eternal".  Spent most of the last few days working my way through it.  It started a bit slow, but by the end it just felt absolutely wonderful.  Unfortunately, it may have spoiled me on reading other stories for a little while.  I just can't imagine I'm going to be able to take the appropriate amount of pleasure from them until I've had a bit more time for "Eternal" to clear my system.

Again, thank you so much.
