So, Wanderer D, the awesome, Tony Stark-look-alike guy that he is, just posted a lengthy essay on why fan fiction is literature. It should come as no surprise to anyone who has delved into my ancient blog posts that I agree wholeheartedly (but for goodness sake, don't read my essay, read the linked essay—it's much better, written by someone who actually knows their stuff, and isn't a hastily copy-pasted forum post missing it's original context).
Anyway, as I said, the essay is lengthy so I thought I'd try illustrating one of Wanderer D's main points in terms of quickly digested images and text. More after the break.

I'm afraid it got stuck in my to-read list for pretty much forever, but I finally got round to it in the end! (Seriously. I think changelings were all the rage back when I added it.)
Glad you liked Never So Far Away.
Thank you very much for the favourite for I Am Chaos.
I love your work, especially Never So Far Away!

Not that funny at all! Who doesn't want to produce some huge epic full of adventure and fun and wild happenings? I know I tried.
I came to realize that I'm actually rubbish at any sort of character interactions, so I've opted to stick to short insight fics.
That want to do something is still there, though... It's all about getting the confidence to run with it.

The funny thing? I started out assuming I would write epic [Adventure]s. I still want to, but I guess it's better learn to walk before learning to run—but don't worry I'll certainly do more [Slice of Life]s as ideas come to me.
And thanks.
You've got some serious talent with Slice of Life, a genre close to my heart. I will definitely be keeping an eye on you for more.
I just wanted to say, thank you for recommending that I read "Eternal". Spent most of the last few days working my way through it. It started a bit slow, but by the end it just felt absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately, it may have spoiled me on reading other stories for a little while. I just can't imagine I'm going to be able to take the appropriate amount of pleasure from them until I've had a bit more time for "Eternal" to clear my system.
Again, thank you so much.
