Appearance: Dark Blue Head feathers and matching wings with slightly lighter blue tips. Midnight black fur and tail. Piercing Green Eyes. On the small side for an adult gryphon.

Abilities: Ma'akus is skilled in the manipulation of air and weather phenomena, utilizing what gryphons consider to be a type of magic. Called Aeromancy, Ma'akus can form air into dangerous blades through the vibration of his wings, though this technique is useless against heavily armored foes. Given enough time to prepare, he can also create lightning through similar methods. Ma'akus is a skilled marksman, and can easily spot the weak points in an opponents armor or stance. However, these are not always as easy to exploit as they are to find.

Equipment: Ma'akus uses a simple bow with various arrows designed for everything from piercing armor to paralyzing foes with strange poisons. These do, of course, come in limited supply. His front claws are armored, and he wears a leather helm with a metal beak cover, complete with flight goggles.

Personality: Ma'akus has an abhorrence for authority figures in general and will often give lip to any he may meet in person especially if he thinks he can get away with it. Ma'akus is a Single Eagle preferring the company of himself to that of others. While highly intelligent because of his short clipped answers in response to questions and other attempts at conversation starters people are often convinced his skull is empty. Ma'akus comes across as a very gruff person but he does in fact hold life to be sacred and as such he refuses to be the one to do the deed. Ruthless in pursuing his goals trickery & deceit come to him easily, there is no tactic or maneuver  that is too "Dirty" or "Unfair".

Story:

Ma'akus from a young age was defiant of authority rejecting anybodies right to tell him what to and what not to do. This stems from having a mother and father who were constantly attempting to mold his life in a shape of their choosing giving no thought or care for the feelings of the young Ma'akus. This has lead Ma'akus to have a contempt for all forms of authority instead choosing to leave the life of status and wealth of his parents behind to make his own way in the world.

Having lived a life of luxury during his early years Ma'akus has not developed his physical body nearly as much as he has his mind. His vast knowledge of anatomy comes from his parents attempts to force Ma'akus into becoming a doctor. When he left his village to make his own way in the world Ma'akus very quickly discovered that the "Real" world was a harsh mistress and very unforgiving of those with little experience. Without much to call his own Ma'akus ended up as a lone bandit for a time struggling to survive in a world without his parent's money supporting him. Like a lot of "Criminals" Ma'akus always had a sense of personal ethics and a code of honor which drove him far more than any rule or law of "Society".

What made Ma'akus stand out is that even during his days as a bandit he never killed. Not Once. Every victim of his has lived through their encounter with him. Despite this he has never been "Caught" by those in authority, mostly by being one step ahead of the law carefully plotting each and every action well ahead of time. With a growing reputation in the world of criminals it didn't take long for Ma'akus's talents to catch the attention of various "Crime Lords". As is typical of his desire to reject any authority but his own Ma'akus turned down every offer to become anybodies subordinate.

Instead Ma'akus works as an independent freelance mercenary willing to take on any job with one major stipulation each time. No Killing. Ma'akus has no problems catching people criminal or otherwise and delivering them to an executioner. When this tournament was announced Ma'akus thought that participating in it would be a decent chance to see how he stacks up against the movers and shakers of the world and thus decided to enter.
