Twilight Sparkle is scared to death of snakes. So much, in fact, that she is afraid to even go anywhere near the Everfree Forest by herself. Sometimes, she won't even leave the library, and makes up other excuses to stay at home. After a total disaster is caused by her ophidiophobia, Fluttershy, the animal expert, takes it upon herself to break Twilight of her irrational fear and teach her that snakes are nothing to be afraid of. Ragamuffin is a young filly who lives on a cactus farm in the country of Coltistan. She writes her experiences in the form of letters to Princess Celestia, a character from her mother's bedtime stories. Ragamuffin loses her innocence as she ages, and becomes increasingly more depressed. She has to face the fact that she will have to farm cactus for the rest of her life, never being able to leave the farm. First fic.
