I hate doing another of these, but I need a written record. That way I won't be tempted to let it slide. If I'm going to write, I'm going to do it right and not be lazy about it.

So I was so very bloody proud of my story, my prologue. I felt I had covered all the angles. It might take a few liberties or stretches here or there, but ultimately it was canonically safe with the show. That was one of my biggest goals in writing it!

So I started working on Chapter 1 and it's not going particularly well. Writing children is hard. I've just not been happy with what I've been putting down. But, slowly and surely, I suppose it's coming along. I won't have it done before vacation though. Still think it'll be up before the end of the month though, so that's good.

Man, I do not handle anticipation well. I said I was going to check it no more than once an hour--constant rechecking and refreshing ahoy!

*rolls eyes* It's silly, but I'm stupidly excited to have my first story accepted--even if it doesn't turn out to be popular, or even if I get actively negative feedback, it's still a pretty awesome achievement, personally speaking. It feels like the first major step (aside from writing the thing, heh), is what I'm trying to get at, I think.

Edit: Oh lord, I submitted it. After, no joke 'cause I get crazy paranoid about this sort of thing, an hour of constantly rereading the rules and debating the tags to apply to it (a lot harder than I thought it would be), I've bit the bullet and hopefully it'll be approved! *crosses fingers* /Edit

So my prologue is now done, save for a read through and final edit. I also await the responses of at least a couple of my prereaders.

I'm not sure if I should have waited 'til I actually have a finished story or not, so *shrug*. At least this way I can keep a bit better track of the stories I enjoy and have read/will read.

So the point of this whole thing is to get my writing out there amongst a community I think will actually respond, since I've had issues getting any proper feedback.
