A few months ago, iTunes crapped out on me and I lost most of the music off my iPhone. My main computer was unavailable, so I was unable to restore the music. I ended up putting music aside, and listened to podcasts.
Fan of Twilight Sparkle, Slice of Life, Adventure, and OP Ponies!

Chinchillax's post 2016.05.25 Fimfiction Archive release statistics links to a bunch of fascinating data. It was fun sorting every story on Fimfiction.net by Likes and finding stories that I had passed by. Thank you Chinchillax for pulling all this together.
In the opening of Spice Up Your Life, when Twilight and Starlight use their magic to "fix" the map in the throne room of the Castle of Friendship, the map shows several possible missions before settling on Rarity and Pinkie Pie in Canterlot. These included:
- Fluttershy and Twilight in Appleloosa
- Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash in Las Pegasus
- Rainbow Dash and Twilight in Yakyakistan
Ship fics are an important part of the mix on Fimfiction. As of this date, 36% of all Featured Stories include the Romance tag (1998 of 5480). Readers and writers want to think that the ships in their stories will be dramatic and will work over the long haul. But will they? What makes a relationship last?
In a comment on Daedalus Aegle’s story, The Marriage of Princess Cadance to House Sparkle, I noted that I find Cadance a fascinating character in general. In canon she is a good pony, trying to do good things for others, with powers that could be problematic (mind-control-ish anyone?)
Lakeguy sent me an email and got me thinking about the challenges of using Celestia as a protagonist in dramatic stories.
How To Write A Story on TVTropes defines story conflict as:
A character, usually The Protagonist...
...wants something badly...
...and is having trouble getting it.
The technologies depicted on MLP are all over the map, from quill pens and soldiers in armor with spears, to Ponyville’s hydroelectric dam, the skyscrapers of Manehattan, even the Flim Flam Brothers’ Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000. Some fans have commented that many widely available technologies (trains, skyscrapers, electric lights, early cars) seem to be about what one would expect in the first decade or two of the 1900’s in America.
Cool Pony Videos and Music on YouTube
Just like I collected some of my favorite favorite pony art at bigbear-fim.deviantart.com/favourites/, I decided to collect some favorite pony videos in my BigBear MLP Playlist.
Beautiful art on Deviant Art
I saw some beautiful pony inspired art on deviantart.com and decided to spend some time collecting some favorites. I figure that when I need a lift, I can pop over and get inspired. Check them out here: bigbear-fim/favorites.
I am sure I missed a bunch of other wonderful art. I am always interested in suggestions for more art worth sharing.
