Starlight Glimmer needs a pet - Starlight could be initially unwilling to get a pet because she doesn’t trust herself to take care of it. She could be forced to adopt a ‘monstrous’ pet, like a Manticore cub or Timber Wolf pup when they are separated from their family. She keeps them until the family is rescued and she has to give them back.
