All Alouette ever wanted was to love and be loved in return. Unlike most ponies who live in the small holding she grew up in, it was a desire she had finally realized. Being married to the son of the city's most prominent figurehead was like a dream come true.

Soon her perfect life begins to crumble under the weight of time she lives in. The city she calls her home becomes the foreground for the sort of change that no traditional pony would want. And In the wake of all this, Alouette finds herself dreaming of a certain entity. An entity that will soon become the very thing that takes her past the place of no return.

This story is loosely based off the song Hijo de la Luna written by José María Cano

Yet Luna, discontented with the premise of Celestia's proposal, decides that any noble suitor must answer three riddles in order to test their bravery, cunning and dedication to her.

The challenge is for anypony to accept. But should they fail, they risk permanent exile and shame. A punishment evident of Luna's darker side.

As pony after pony tries and fails, a single earth pony, taken by Princess Luna's beauty, is determined to prove himself worthy of her.

Based off Puccini's Turandot, The Cold Heart of the Moon is a crossover story encompassing the love, tragedy and sacrifice of the original opera. The chapter name is a ponified translation of the opera's most famous aria, Nessun Dorma!

Unfortunately I ran out of material for the plot for this to make sense going forward. I made the mistake of just writing from the beginning without any proper editing or structure. I hope you enjoy it as it is. I would also be happy with handing the story over should anyone decide they could continue this novel.

The importance of the six ponies who bare the Elements of Harmony is something unknown to society within Equestria. However their roles hardly went unnoticed by the Pony Intelligence Agency that seeks to maintain Equestrian security and upheld the framework of its society.

Intelligence Director Black Hooves has set up an elite group of guardians known as the Protectors. Their sole purpose being to silently and secretly watch over each one of the main six ponies.

But when agent Hat Trick, Protector of Rainbow Dash, unwittingly sees a dark creature in the shadows of an arena during a Wonderbolts show, his carefully organised life is quickly thrown asunder as he and his fellow Protector, Firefly, are thrown into a world of dark intrigue that could ultimately destroy the very fabrics of all that is known of Pony kind.
