2417059 What can I say, historians attract one another and you had a quite ironic appearance. Then again really hard to meet people around here.
I sadly admit I had to google the year since I forgot the date of Tamerlane's death but he sure is great choice for obscure yet well known character. I mostly remember him because of Battle of Ankara in 1402 as Sultan Bayezid suffered terrible defeat at his hands. That isn't to say that his attempt at carving his own empire on its own doesn't merit recognition. And maybe a bit too much Medieval 2.
And yeah was sure it is Xristos but thank you so much for reminding me of the story how it became part of Byzantium heraldry. I remember reading it in high school text book. Wasn't also sure if it was Byzantium or Roman Empire proper. Personally I prefer more the Cross with Basileus Basileon Basileus Basileus.
And that is quite an irony and too bad it seems to be lost on most.
2417045 Wow, in 2.5 years you're the first person to ask me that. I was beginning to think no one payed attention to my admittedly odd pairing.
Anyway, my username is a ruthless Islamic conqueror paired with the year of his death because I was and still am a man of history. I love studying history and when I was choosing a username for my FIMfiction account I decided to name myself after a famous historical figure (as I do on almost all sites where a username is required). Unlike others who do this, though, I like to choose more obscure figures that I can name off the top of my head but who most people need to google. As it happens, I was studying Tamerlane/Timur/Timur Lane/Timur the Lame/etc. at the time and had grown temporarily infatuated with reading about how he massacred millions in his conquests all across the middle east, India (Delhi), and central Asia, all while destroying 2 Mongol Khanates and severely weakening a third, only to die before he could completely consolidate his already impressive legacy by attacking the last remaining Khanate in China.
As for my avatar, you are correct. It is a JPEG of the Chi Rho: the first two letters in the Greek word Christos meaning Christ. It was the symbol favored by the Byzantine Empire and famous figures such as Constantine I who adopted it after the battle of Milvian Bridge when he saw it in a vision along with "in this sign, conquer". It is my favorite Christian symbol and I figured it would be appropriate to assign it as my avatar to a website I would attend constantly as a conspicuous showing of my own religious faith.
So why did I choose an Islamic mass murdering conqueror as my username but, at the same time, a Christian symbol as my avatar? In effect, it was to show off both of my passions: the study of history and my faith. The irony is not lost on me, but I find the dynamic of a history filled with mass death and ruthless conquest and my religion that preaches peace and love to be one that I love to challenge and keep at the forefront of my mind.
2022775 I usually watch authors whose stories are on my favorites list and, as it happens, two of your stories are on that list so I'm actually a little late.

Ok I'll bite. Why is your user name Timur Lang's year of death. And your avatar if I am not mistaken is initials of Jesus Christ.
Thanks for the fave on how Lily got her creepy super strength.
