One of the site's rules is that there are category tags which contradict each other, and fics should not use them all. Indeed, "incorrect category" is one of the report categories when you hit 'report'. It's just that there are so many 'sad/tragedy' tagged fics, I find myself wondering if that rule is really enforced at all.

Should I be going around and reporting all of them? I could spend all day at a task like that!

It's pedantic and wordy. It couldn't possibly be any good. I'm staring at it in GDocs and wondering if I should upload it here. There's a strange and wretched temptation to just stuff if onto Fimfiction without proofreading it further. I have rewritten a scene three times now because each time I've tried to write it, I've accidentally found an entirely new way to imply that Twilight Sparkle's mother is broad as a barn.

I have an ambition. Someday, I want to be called 'disgustingly reasonable'. I've come close a few times, but I haven't gotten the exact phrase I'm seeking. I'm not disgustingly reasonable yet. My reasonableness is pretty flawed. Disgusting perfection is my goal.

Never write 'had had' in one of your stories. Not voluntarily. When I see this, I mentally stumble and find the entire paragraph despoiled. I find myself wondering if the author ever tried to read their writing aloud.
