It has been over 10 years since Derpy last saw her loving father. Ten years since her mother left her on that cloud. She was so young, she had forgotten most of it. But she would always remember two things; the love in her daddy's eyes, and the beatings of her mother.

If you cry, you're dead. If you frown, you're dead. If you in some way do something to make others unhappy, you're dead. And that is why everypony's perfectly happy. They can't afford not to be.
