G'day. Aussie Brony here. I'm not very active in the comment threads of my stories, but I read and cherish every one. Thanks for reading.

The music of my people (Australia Day Blog) · 5:31pm Jan 25th, 2021

January 26 is Australia Day. It’s a day that I am in two minds about. While it is nice that we have a day to celebrate our nation and values, it has become somewhat more a declaration of nationalism. I do fear our pride may be leading us to forget the lessons of history.

But that is a blog for someone more politically savvy than me.

Australia does exactly what you expect. · 10:49am Apr 20th, 2020

When it comes to memes about Australia, there are two broad categories of the way we respond. We either gently correct the misconception, or we steer into it at full throttle.

25 years of quietly telling the internet that kangaroos do not bound down the streets of our major cities. COVID-19 hits and this happens in Adelaide.

My Little Ibis? · 6:23pm Aug 3rd, 2018

I heard about this a couple of days ago, and fell about laughing. But after a little research...

Screen Australia has funded the development of an animated series about ibises in Sydney's tourist heart at Darling Harbour.

Called Bin Chickens, it follows three birds interacting with the daily parade of "imbecile humans and their ludicrous civilisation", including their laws, social mores and "horrific taste in architecture".

RIP John Clarke, Australian satirist and former New Zealander · 2:28am Apr 10th, 2017

Comedian, satirist, actor, and writer John Clarke passed away yesterday while hiking in the Grampians National Park.

Most famous for the interviews he did with Bryan Dawe on A Current Affair and later The 7:30 Report. I'll post a few samples below.

One of these went on to become a meme on Reddit:

The most Wuthering Heights day ever. · 5:34am Jul 17th, 2016

So, apparently reenactments of the video clip to Kate Bush's song "Wuthering Heights" is a thing.

Link for the brave.

Who knew? (It's better than golf, apparently...) See! There are weirder fandoms than ours.

Brumby is in your bed... · 6:56am Jan 29th, 2015

...pushing your boundaries.

It started off as a blog post from Estee. An observation on a spate of second person Fics involving ponies and beds. Titles and story lines were suggested. I joined in on the joke.

Significant number blog post. · 11:39am Jul 26th, 2014

So I hit 5,011 story views recently. Wow.

Not bad for an author with one popular multi-chapter story and four one-shots of varying quality. I'm impressed, and exceeding proud.

I buy them from a mail order company based in Des Moines, Iowa...

Okay, that's an old joke. I believe David Letterman once used it on his show, which means that Johnny Carson probably told it first. But I'm not here to discuss American TV talk shows.

Authors notes for "Nuts!" · 3:12am Nov 18th, 2013

Inspiration can strike anywhere. Daydreaming during a quiet spell at work. Watching couples on Valentines Day. Rewatching a favourite episode.

Standing in the snack isle of a supermarket...

This fic started out as a mental exercise while looking at the nut display in my local supermarket. Looking at the various offerings I was struck by the thought "What would the ponies eat?" From there, it was a fun game, fitting types of nuts to the different characters.
