I've also seen the first movie (and some others, but the first one is the only one that I remember in much detail).

- Favorite stories: Only Right, An Origami Fish's series

Favorite fanfiction stories:
1. Time Braid (Naruto)
- Excellent in every way, and vastly improved from the venerable Chunin Exam Day, with awesomeness diluted only occasionally by NSFW shenanigans. Definitely my favorite story ever. Read count: Six.
2. In the Blood (Naruto)
- A very feelings-heavy book, split between two plots--the mysterious appearance of a clone of Uchiha Itachi, and the troubles of Uchiha Sasuke's attempts to restore his clan with Yamanaka Ino. Read count: Two.
3. Background Pony (MLP: FIM)
- Exquisite (though often non-standard) presentation and flawless execution, going in totally unexpected directions in fulfillment of the premise. The second story (after Death Note) that ever brought tears to my eyes. Read count: Two.

Runners-up for second-favorite literature overall:
Star Wars: The New Jedi Order: Traitor
- Presentation is automatically excellent, as this is professionally-edited. Execution is near-flawless. The premise is beautifully fleshed out--there are a zillion tangents on how the Yuuzhan Vong's shaping works, not to mention Vergere's philosophizing. Read count: Three.
The Shape of Things to Come
- A textbook detailing an alternate history from 1933 onwards, written in 1933. Miles better than anything by Turtledove, in my opinion--because, rather than focusing on a bunch of individual characters about whom I give not a tinker's damn, it's written in the style of a textbook--a rather preachy and long-winded textbook, to be sure (written in 1933!), but an interesting and exhaustive textbook, not a mishmash of boring and fragmentary biographies. Read count: Two.
The D'Artagnan Romances
- Presentation depends entirely on the quality of the translation; Project Gutenberg has a great one of the first book, but only mediocre ones of the others. Execution is good, I suppose--fast-paced action fills the first two books, and the others spice up their dragging intrigue with mythological references and Porthos' comic relief. There's not much to say about premise--it's historical fiction, after all--but the information about the seventeenth-century French court is kind of interesting, I guess. Read count: Four (first book), two (second book), one (other books).
