Hmm... quite the feel ride already. Father and daughter in Equestria? o.o... Meeting the mane 6 already? A little dangerous on plot wise. Twilight casting magic on a child? REALLY dangerous for plot. It would take a LOT of convincing for me to have someone that careful, meticulous and smart to cast it recklessly. Humans are 1) not anypony's expertise 2) not ponies, meaning they could have repercussions, something Twilight would have considered.
... although I gave you all this criticism, don't take it to heart. Play your cards right, and you'll do well.
