That ending... What a Twist!
As for the story itself, it was formatted really strangely. Its like the plot just decided to start up and end just with the snap of a finger. (1st couple of lines= descriptions, then the next lines were the circus, then the decapitation, then the plot, then Trixie.)
Not that this was bad or anything, just odd...
I still liked it nonetheless.

The bond between Twilight and Shining Armor is very well done, as is her apprehension to what to what the filly believes was someone about to severely injured and the reaction she has to it.
The twist/cameo at the end was also very clever.
