You could try and write something more imaginative and creative, but I won't judge this fic until i've read it, which will be never. Apparently you've got some decent ratings, though, so good luck with that.
While I don't generally approve of of cupcake inspired fics, this seems will written, and you look like you want to head somewhere with this.

My bet is that it is a highly advanced form of necromancy, where deviation results in a more standard form of undead, possibly a type of lich because the spell would have to bind the soul to truly resurrect Rainbow Dash.

I haven't read a Cupcakes spin-off since "the Cupcake Chronicles" (which was fantastic) so I'm eager to find out where you take this. The quality seems quite good so far as I can tell, and the premise is interesting. I think I'll keep an eye on this - nice work
